The food is delicious, but I’m disappointed to say that the first time we ordered the feta fries, it was a sharable dish. The second time, it was a tiny portion. Paying $8 for a handful of fries is a bit ridiculous

Purchased a dinner for my wife for her birthday. My wife also ordered a side order of gluten free pita and hummus, and requested the regular pita bread with the meal. Drove in the snow to pick up the meal. When I got home, there was no regular pita bread with her meal and about 6-8 pieces of gluten free pita bread. For a meal that cost almost $50 (including a piece of baklava), I was utterly unimpressed and disappointed. I called the restaurant to make them aware and they informed me that I would have had to order more in order to get more (when I had already ordered a side order or pita and hummus!!). All I was asking for was my regular side order of pita bread. I love supporting small businesses but this is no way to treat your customers. Unfortunately, I will not be going back.

Solid Greek spot. Start with the apps, the dips especially are worth it. The rice is great and the meats are consistently excellent. Pro tip: add the veggie skewer to your main. Otherwise, you're basically getting rice and meat, which feels light for the price. Speaking of price, it runs a bit high for what you get. The atmosphere is casual (paper table coverings and napkins), which feels like a mismatch with the price point. I can think of other places where that same money stretches further. Drinks are fine, nothing special. We keep coming back because the food quality is there, but go in with realistic expectations about the overall experience. Good food, just not a lot of extras for the cost.

All the food we ate was delicious and the portions were filling. The atmosphere was welcoming. But our waitress Linda was the star of our show. She was the perfect mix of friendly and attentive, well versed in recommendations that would make our meal even better. If I could give her 10 stars I would.

I just absolutely love this place. The food is outstanding, always delicious and good quality. We went today and our server Linda was such a gem. Very sweet woman, friendly, personable and made sure everything was great. Great portions, fresh ingredients, and the pita bread is just so good. Definitely recommend!

Went last night after work for dinner with a friend. for a drink I got a strawberry gin fizz. It was deliciously made. We ordered the tzatziki app and it was so fresh. The baked pita with it was seasoned nicely. We split the lamb shank for dinner and they don’t lie when they say it’s fall off the bone. The potatoes that came with the lamb shank were full of flavor and fork tender. Our Bartender was welcoming and friendly and very knowledgeable. We will absolutely be back!

We had a very disappointing experience this evening. After hearing many positive things about amphora, we decided to take our friends out for a birthday dinner. Cocktails and appetizer were very good. Three of us had the special, lamb skewers on rice. Portion was good but all three dishes were extremely overcooked and dry. The fourth person had the combination plate with steak and shrimp. She ordered medium rare and received well done. Also dry. The only taste to any of the meats was the exterior rub seasoning. One person returned their lamb for a very tasty lasagna. The rest of us just picked ours and left most of it over. Desserts were excellent. Baklava cheese cake and the special. Two were enough for the four of us. Overall, we went with high expectations and left very disappointed.

Had a really good experience in our waitress Karen was absolutely lovely. The prices were reasonable and the food was delicious. Good for anyone who needs a Greeks cuisine fix or for anyone looking for a good meal in general!

Just had lunch at Amphora. It was delicious. We had the taziki appetizer with warm seasoned pita. Very refreshing and tasty. The Gyro dinner came with a fresh salad, more warm pita, and rice pilaf with peppers and peas. The gyro itself was very good. Our server, who was also the bartender, mixed excellent expresso martinis. Her service was attentive without being intrusive. Would definitely go again to Amphora and would recommend it to friends.

Another unique restaurant in a 20 mile radius. If it were nearer, we would go more often. Portion sizes have reduced over time. Note to self: I don't write the gyro.

During a recent trip to Derry, our hosts suggested Amphora for dinner. Liked the food so much, we went back a second time. Highlights were the Thracian Chicken and the Psari-Sto-Filo, both of which were well prepared and served piping hot. The Pastitsio could have used a bit more seasoning. Also enjoyed the Saganaki and Hummus appetizers. Service at our table was excellent, service at the bar the second night was a bit slow. The atmosphere was low key and inviting, a step above most of the Greek restaurants I've frequented. Extensive wine list, but a few more draft beer selections would be welcomed.

We used to be regulars here but after moving to Tucson we are finally back for a visit. The food is as great as we remembered. Most great restaurants in Tucson are very chain restaurants like. Amphora is very unique and creative. The salads are fresh and delicious. The appetizers add some variety to the meal and the service is excellent and makes you feel like family. Others must agree because the place has expanded with live music. Do yourself a favor and plan a visit with friends and you will be the hero of the night!

This restaurant has become one of my favorites over the years. The owner Peter is one of the best chefs I know. I really can't say enough about the place. From the menu items to the servers and bartenders you are taken care very well. The bar is also a great place to unwind and listen to some great local talents in the warmer months.

First visit in YEARS, food and service were very good. The haddock in filo was a hit, the spanakopita was good but not enough feta. Luckily, there was so much crumbled feta on my delicious feta fries, I was able to remedy that. The other couple we were with had a gyro dinner and moussaka and enjoyed both. The only miss was the chicken Avgolémino Soup. Tasted like thickened canned chicken soup with lemon. Broad menu, nice bar area - will try that next time.

Service great, food was delicious. I had not been in years, but glad I stopped in. When we arrived we were the only ones in the dining room, but within 10 more minutes the place was packed.

Amazing food plus our waiter, Linda was awesome she was so kind and super friendly. definitely recommend.

I have been coming here for a few years now and the food is consistently delicious, the waitstaff is always wonderful. I eat here every time I am in the area. The last two times we have been Linda has waited in us and she is the BEST! Friendly, kind, efficient- couldn't ask for better and she made the experience of fantastic food even better. The lone complaint is if you are not seated in a booth the temperature in the restaurant can be uncomfortably cool.

"This is it. This is perfect! This is just what you wanted, isn't it?!" That's what I was thinking to myself upon finally trying my very first complete entrée here at Amphora. Many of you may recall my last visit here when I sampled some tasty pita bread in a cheese sauce and the best damned fried feta cheese on this side of New England. So, tonight....I tried the Thracian Chicken Sandwich (which is actually a pita, but whatever). This thing was easily the best chicken gyro I've tasted for miles! It's even better than the one I get in Nashua (can't remember the name of the place though). From the charbroiled chicken pieces to the seasoning to the freshly cut veggies and yogurt sauce, this pita wrap tasted like the stuff that only dreams are made of. Let's discuss these fries though. Bruh. Bruh! Like....have you ever...? Could you imagine...? *soft exhale* Okay. Lemme carefully explain how awesome these things are.. These fries are so good, they made me wanna write an updated review for this entire restaurant. These fries are so good, they could offer world peace to everyone who so much as tastes these beauties. These fries could probably cure cancer. Point is....every single new menu item I sampled tonight was a solid 10 out of 10. If you don't know how rare that is, it happens about as often as getting mauled by a polar bear and a regular bear in the same day. No doubt about it, Amphora receives 5 chicken pitas charred and seasoned to perfection out of 5.

We stopped by here on our way back to MA after a day of skiing, and glad that we did! The restaurant is casual and inviting. The staff was extremely friendly. Our waitress was so pleasant and gave us great recommendations. The food was great. We got the dip sampler, which wasn't on the menu and glad that we did as we were debating between two, but got to sample all 4! You can't go wrong with the tzatziki and hummus. The Kopanisti was very salty, as expected from feta cheese. The melitzanosalta was also a bit salty. The gyro plate was delicious! We also got the lamb shank which was so flavorful and tender. The eggplant frites were a bit oily, but a nice change from your typical fries. For dessert, we tried the galaktoboureko for the first time (waitress also said it was her favorite), and none was left to be spared. It's a pie-like dessert, with custard that reminds me of the rice pudding (rizogalo) in filo pastry. We would definitely return if we were ever back in the area.

Ridiculously overpriced for a gyro sandwich in my opinion. And it don't even come with fries.

Not very good or authentic Greek food. Pork was fatty and my husband's chicken was a dry chicken breast. We would not go back or recommend.

Pretty good greek option in Derry. Nice ambiance inside with a long bartop and hightop chairs. Very friendly waitstaff. Helped a buddy move today and he repaid me with dinner. We ordered Spanikopita, Fried Feta, & pita and tsaziki apps that were great. That Fried Feta is unbelievably good but six 1" squares of feta left me wishing for a larger sample size. Ha. The Tsaziki and Pita is a great combo. Both were stellar. Then we ordered Greek and caesar salads. The greek salads come with much much less feta than other greek restaurants i visit so i was surprised. Also no pepperoncinis on the salad and the dressing comes on the salad when served. Im a dressing fiend but the supplied amount was just enough to get by without pestering the waitstaff for more. It was not your normal greek dressing, not as tangy, but still tasty. 4 big hunks of pita on top was a nice touch but the salads werent out of this world. Then the Thracian chicken sandwich. Its a nice chunk of white meat chicken covered in seasoning and put in a full pita with lettuce, onion, tomato and tsaziki sauce. Thats the best deal at $10. My buddy ordered a falafel wrap $12.50, and loved it. I would 100% return but i do have another favorite nh greek restaurant that ill revisit first in Hampton.

Love the food!! Hummus is very smooth and fresh! The eggplant and falafel wraps cannot be beat.

... Called a few days before to make a reservation. I was so happy they were willing to take it ... celebrating birthdays for my husband & son. Greeted as soon as we walked in ... seated at our table. Waitress came right over... started with apps ... dolmades, spanakopita, zucchini's fries & tzatziki with bread. We enjoyed them but we were surprised the dolmades were served cold. The meals were delicious but the pastitsio portion was quite small for $17.00. Dessert was delicious .... Again small portions except for the ouzo cake. We felt very rushed by the waitress. The entire meal was over $200.00 with no alcoholic beverages. It would have been nice to be able to sit & relax after the meal but the waitress seemed to want us to move even though no one was waiting! Bar area looked lovely. We were happy to sit near the kitchen area. Hope to try again and not feel rushed!

First time in Derry NH and selected this place on a whim. Everything was SO delicious; we couldn't get over how crispy and flavorful the fries were with a soft inside. All food and drinks were amazing, staff was friendly and attentive (but not overbearing) and atmosphere (both inside and out) were enjoyable. Would totally go back

Great service, great food, but portions are kinda small and overall quite expensive for what you get. Good, but once is probably enough.

Good prices. Good drinks. Delicious food. Very fresh. Homemade...For sure we will be back. We ate the best chicken egg soup ever, a fantastic calamari appetizer, a fresh salad, and some skewed pork w rice pilaf. I cannot remember the name of the dishes but for sure I will remember to come back to try other options. BEWARE: their Homemade food takes sometime to get to the table so be prepared to enjoy some wine as the food gets ready to arrive to your table. It is worth the wait!!

Have had hummus with more flavor at several other restaurants. Friends got lamb shanks which were tender but not a fan of taste of sauce. I got sliced lamb that was so tough. Hated the smoked paprika watery sauce. Think sliced lamb was boiled in it. Steak tip combo had a few 1" chunks and ended with several tiny way over done hard chunks. Definitely not rare as asked. Calamari was best part of meal.

My wife and I had a lovely dinner at Amphora due to conscientious staff and delicious food. The European ambiance suits this Greek restaurant and contributes to an environment that encourages conversation and relaxation. My tasty vegetable Kabob dinner consisted of two loaded spears of multi-colored grilled vegetables, from red and green peppers to green and yellow zucchini and squash, with a good measure of mushrooms and onions for earthy balance. The lemon-oregano potatoes were equally delicious, although a bit salty. Both dishes tasted fresh and were not oily or greasy (I had requested little to no oil). My wife thoroughly enjoyed her Moussaka, and thought the house Red was adequate (she's an avid wine club member and has high expectations.) We would return again if in the area.

Found this restaurant by accident. Great food and wonderful staff!! The Kopanisti and the Souvlaki were excellent. The staff was great!

I had a takeout order and it was on time, hot, and DELICIOUS! Team greeted me as soon as I entered and made sure they got my order to me quickly! Great service. Looking forward to eating in restaurant soon based on my experience

Decided I would try this restaurant as I've lived in Derry my whole life but haven't tried it yet. I heard the Thracian chicken sandwich was good so I went online to place my order. I asked for the yogurt sauce on the side because I wasn't sure if I'd like it. & I paid $2.00 to add feta. I was excited to try it I went to pick it up and the lady confirmed "the chicken wrap with feta" and I said yes. I went to eat the sandwhich and there was no feta nor any of the yogurt sauce that I wanted to try that comes with it. Just disappointing when ordering something and doesn't come out as it's suppose to especially when you're charged extra for things you don't get. I will say though, even without some of those things the sandwhich did have good flavor. The chicken was really tasty.

If I could give them 6 stars I would . Everything was amazing and authentic . Having been to Greece twice I have high standards. Since I am still honoring my minimal inside exposure during Covid I ordered takeout. I am addicted to a good lamb souvlaki and was not disappointed at this stop. Seasoned to perfection and served in a grilled herb pita... ahhhhmazing!! My husband had the Gyro and I knew it was going to be good when they pronounced the name correctly. Again spot on. While we devoured these sandwiches right in their parking lot their award winning cheesecake was on my mind. Well it was a two hour drive home so back I went to get the sweets for the ride. Even tried their custom Greek blend they sell and can't wait to experiment with the usuage. Special shout out to Amanda and Alyssa that made both purchases memorable!!

Unbelievable Greek food. Everything is delicious and carefully made. You can not go wrong with anything on the menu. Calamari is to die for, the shrimp is fantastic. Service is great and the ambience is comfortable.

I need to update my review as I had recently gotten take out from there again and my experience wasn't the same. I got the Thracian chicken pita (same as before) and my mom got the lamb tip pita (also the same as before) and both were not nearly as good. My chicken had almost no flavor and was over charred/cooked. They also only gave me two measly pieces in the entire pita, that was disappointing. The lamb was plentiful but most of the tips were chewy. We ordered legit the second they opened up at 12 (on Sunday), so I don't know if they used old chicken for mine from the day before or what. But it was definitely not nearly the same from when we ordered from over the summer. The tzatziki was exactly the same, they probably do that in fairly large batches I'm guessing. I would go back but it was still a let down.

Good Greek food,FINALLY!! I emailed them to see if they had gluten free options before going. The owner, Peter, answered me within the hour. He was very informative and yes, they have gluten free options! When we arrived we were seated immediately. Our server was efficient and pleasant. Peter came over to the table and mentioned a chocolate cake that was flourless that he was working on. If they have it when you come, get it! Amazing! We loved our entrees and we will most assuredly return to Amphora. Thank you Peter and staff!

I was about to see a concert at the local music hall with a friend when I finally got a chance to try this lovely place. A different friend who works near here had been coming here and telling me about it, so I was excited to finally get to try it. They were really busy(probably due to the concert), so It took a bit for them to get to us. Once they did though, everything came out in order, quickly and as requested. Getting the check took awhile, but we made pretty good time getting out of there. I started with the calamari tempura and my friend had the chicken eggplant frites. Both were very good! For my meal, I decided on the Gyro dinner plate and then this awesome custard dessert called galactobourkos. The place is fairly small for the volume of people I saw outside waiting for meals or a table. I really enjoyed the well-lit, friendly atmosphere. I would definitely go back to try more of their menu based on my first visit. Definitely better than the average Greek restaurant!

I went with my brother for lunch. I was excited to try a Greek resturant, the food is usually delicious. My brother and I ordered a couple of beers before our meals arrived. After taking a sip of beer from my glass I noticed a chip on the top of the glass. I brought the chip to the attention of our waitress. Upon being informed of the chip she asked if it would be okay or if it was necessary to get another glass. I do not wish to eat at a resturant where chipped glasses appear to be okay. Would you want to drink anything from a glass with a chip in it? Not to mention having your waitstaff ask if it is okay. When our food arrived I was totally disappointed, as was my brother. The food was not just like yiya (grandma)used to make. I ordered pastitsio my brother ordered mousaka both dishes were nothing like I remember them and they were absolutely terrible and expensive, I should have just ordered mac and cheese. I will never to there again for an $80 chceck and tip it is was a waste of money.

This place was incredible. We sat at the bar and had the pita bread appetizer with the different dipping sauces: hummus, red roasted peppers, etc it was so delicious! We also had the fried feta bites they were AMAZING!!!! I had a lamb gyro and it was incredible- I added seasoned fries as a side- the portion was huge and the flavor was incredible. I also got a martini that was delicious and expertly made. The service was good! While this place isn't anywhere near where I live I'll be back! I didn't get photos bc the food was gone before I thought to take pictures- next time!

it's just so good, every single time. and you feel good after eating here. i got takeout recently but there were a ton of people eating both inside and outside and the vibe was just super happy! also the online ordering is super easy i love Amphora!

SO love this place. Don't be fooled by the look of the outside (although it's not bad) This Is fabulous fresh Greek food, for a fantastic price. Have an appetizer or three, share if you dare, and relax outside. The staff is so nice, and the comfort food that your arteries will thank you for later will make you want to smash your plates and shout "OPA!"

I had a terrible experience here. My husband and I dined inside and it was hot and there were flies EVERYWHERE - likely from the doors being kept open. The service was not great and our food was also not great. I go to a lot of restaurants, and eat a lot of food, and I would not recommend this one.

The chicken from the grill is excellent and the spanakopita is above average. Their brightest spot is their salad dressing. Their gyro is frozen slices from a manufacturer as every piece has rounded ends and is the exact same size. The gyro is pretty disappointing to be frank. The falafel is flat and inedible. If you pick the right items you will enjoy your meal but there are a bunch of potholes on this course.
