One of the definitions of paradise as per my dictionary is „a place of extreme beauty, delight, or happiness“: well….: tick, tick, tick! That’s Amrai Suites!!|The meter is still running but we broke the 60 nights threshold at Amrai this time, after having come here 4 times in the last 3 years, so without false modesty I think we know the hotel by now and can give a complete (though biased) rating.||Has Amrai lost any of its appeal? Absolutely not.||Are we still impressed by its amazing architecture, beautiful location, gorgeous rooms, charming design, excellent food, relaxed vibe and mesmerising sound of the Litz? Yes we are.||Are we still discovering something new? Yes: we tried Kupfergrill a bit more than last times, and under the charming new leadership and amazing Argentinean chef it has become even better than before according to us. ||Have things changed compared to last time? Yes: it looks like the main restaurant has become even more of a well oiled machine than before without losing any of its human warmth and charming hospitality. The combination of the well-known faces and new youngsters create an amazing holiday atmosphere. The sommelier and his passion for the profession (and excellent recommendations) are second to none.||Do any members stick out? Nope: that would be unfair to the rest of them: They are just all great: from reception, to management (such fantastic host and hostess), to housekeeping, to gardening, to restaurant: they all just do an amazing job of making the stay special. Hospitality with a capital “H“.||Are we surprised by something? Yes: how come this hotel does not have five stars: as the stay definitely embodies a 5 star GL experience, just more genuine!!||Is there something we don’t like that much about Amrai Suites? Yes; our unfortunate departure …..||May there be 60 more nights!!! ….. for starters…..

We were traveling through the Montafon region for a hiking trip in the Austrian Alps and chose Schruns for its strategic location. We did not expect to find such a high-end hotel and were pleasantly surprised from the moment we arrived. The entire experience was perfect. The hotel building itself is unique and beautifully designed, with a blend of modern style and traditional Alpine charm that carries through to the rooms. Our room was spacious and tastefully decorated, featuring a large and incredibly comfortable king-size bed, a cozy seating area, and a balcony. The design struck a perfect balance between contemporary comfort and local cultural touches. The wellness facilities were a highlight. Guests have access to a stunning half-open, half-covered rooftop pool with mountain views, as well as another pool on the ground floor. There’s a variety of saunas, relaxation rooms where you can unwind with a book or music, and complimentary cold drinks, teas, and snacks. A full menu of massages and treatments is available at an extra charge—we booked a full-body massage and found it incredibly relaxing. The fitness room is also worth mentioning—spacious and well-equipped, especially compared to other hotels we’ve stayed at. It made it easy and enjoyable to keep up with our workout routine. Breakfast was absolutely outstanding, offering an extensive spread of meats, cheeses, fresh fruits and vegetables, breads, pastries, jams, and both hot and cold beverages. Eggs and omelets were made to order with your choice of toppings. The dining room was beautifully decorated, and we found ourselves lingering over long, relaxed breakfasts. The hotel also offers a five-course dinner and has a grill restaurant. Unfortunately, both were fully booked when we tried to reserve a table, so it’s definitely wise to book in advance. Upon arrival, you receive two complimentary drinks at the hotel bar, which serves a nice selection of local wines, well-made cocktails, and surprisingly—some of the best coffee we had in Austria. The staff were consistently warm, helpful, and professional, which truly added to the overall experience. While the hotel isn’t cheap, we felt that the level of service, facilities, and overall experience more than justified the price. Some days we spent hiking the region’s stunning nature trails, while others were happily spent relaxing at the hotel. All in all, we had an excellent stay and would absolutely return in the future. Highly recommended.

Dear AMRAI Suites Team,||My partner and I would like to sincerely thank you for the amazing stay we had with you. We spent three days at AMRAI Suites and everything was simply perfect – the room, the spa, the food, and above all, the warm welcome and attentive service.||We also wanted to thank you especially for the way you handled the small incident at the restaurant on our second evening. As I am coeliac, it was a little worrying at first when I realized I had been served a dish containing gluten, but your immediate care, generosity, and concern truly touched us. Allowing us to stay in the room and spa until 6 p.m. on our departure day, and covering the dinner, went far beyond our expectations. It showed how much you value your guests and made us feel genuinely cared for.||Please don’t worry – I am doing fine. I had a bit of stomach discomfort, but nothing serious, and fortunately we realized it very quickly.||Despite this incident, or rather because of the way you responded to it, we left feeling even more impressed by AMRAI Suites. We would return without hesitation, with our eyes closed, and will warmly recommend you to others.||Thank you once again for your kindness and for making our stay so special. We are already looking forward to coming back.||With gratitude,|Briant Mathilde

Summary: A mixed experience in beautiful surroundings. Great facilities and location held back by service issues that could easily be addressed with better staff training and adequate staffing levels. Details: We recently spent a week at this hotel with our family, and while there were some wonderful highlights, the experience was unfortunately marred by service issues that prevented it from being the exceptional stay we had hoped for. ## The Positives **Accommodation & Facilities** Our room was absolutely fantastic - spacious, beautifully appointed, and felt brand new throughout. Having our own kitchen, sauna, and steam bath made the stay feel luxurious and convenient, especially for a week-long visit with children. The hotel itself is stunning, clearly well-maintained and thoughtfully designed. The spa and pool areas are truly impressive, offering something for everyone. The breakfast was exceptional - varied, fresh, and high quality. We were also pleasantly surprised by the fairly priced ‘Jause’ and found the à la carte restaurant to offer very good value for money with quality dishes. It’s worth noting that the staff at the à la carte restaurant were exceptionally attentive and professional - a refreshing contrast to the general service experience elsewhere in the hotel. **Location** The hotel’s setting is absolutely beautiful, located in an area that offers plenty of activities both in town and the surrounding region. It’s particularly well-suited for families with children, with numerous attractions and outdoor activities within easy reach. ## Areas for Improvement **Service & Hospitality** Unfortunately, the service experience significantly detracted from what could have been an outstanding stay. From the moment we arrived, we didn’t feel particularly welcome. While we received a welcome drink, the check-in process was frustrating - we had to ask multiple times to complete our check-in and waited quite a while to access our room, despite the hotel not appearing busy at all. Throughout our stay, it became apparent that the hotel seems understaffed. While individual staff members were friendly when engaged, the overall service culture felt lacking. There were instances where staff would avoid eye contact or walk away when they saw guests approaching, giving the impression they were trying to avoid additional requests. **Communication Issues** The front desk phone service was almost non-existent during our stay - they mostly didn‘t answer the phone, which became quite inconvenient when we needed assistance or information. **Restaurant Booking System & Room Service** The hotel operates a slot-based booking system for restaurants, which in principle makes sense to avoid overcrowding. However, this isn’t communicated to guests in advance, leading to frustration when families discover they can’t get a table without advance booking. This system can be particularly challenging when traveling with young children where flexibility is often needed. Additionally, while the website advertises room service, the reality is quite limited - essentially only a 5-course menu is available for room service, with no other options. This was disappointing, especially during a week-long stay when you might want simple, quick meals delivered to your room. ## Overall Assessment This hotel has all the ingredients for an exceptional experience - beautiful facilities, comfortable accommodations, great location, and good food. However, the service shortcomings and apparent understaffing issues prevent it from reaching its full potential. It’s perfect for a weekend getaway where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery and excellent facilities, but don’t expect the renowned Austrian hospitality and service standards that make a stay truly memorable.

The Amrai Suites are located at the river Litz, just a short walk from center of Schruns, offering nice views of the surrounding mountain range. The modern, yet warm and cozy interior design is stunning, with a consistent concept based on the local culture, and great attention to detail.||We stayed at a Schlafgemach Deluxe Suite with a fireplace and sauna. One special feature is a fully equipped kitchen, which is hidden in a cabinet and "unfolds" when you open the doors. A very clever idea, the first time we have seen this. The suite is huge and very nicely furnished. A perfect 10 for us.||The hotel has two spas, both with swim-out pools and different saunas. The spas are really nice and surprise with different resting areas. It's one of the nicest we've seen so far.||Breakfast is another highlight. The buffet is ample and rivals that of international 5 star hotels.||For dinner, there are 2 options - the main restaurant where the daily 3/4 board menu is served, and the a là carte Kupfergrill restaurant. The food at the main restaurant turned out to be very nice. It was disappointing on our first day, also because the menu only featured things we didn't like, but improved a lot during the other days.||Our dining experience at the Kupfergrill was mixed. In general, the restaurant is nice, and the food is good. However, there is room for improvement in the service. Our starters were served just 5 minutes after we ordered them, which was way too fast. You don't get your food that fast even in a fast food restaurant. Our main course arrived soon after and tasted ok, but the steaks were overdone. As the waiter wasn't really receptive, we didn't want to push the issue and spoil our evening.||But other than that, we had a wonderful stay at the Amrai Suites. It's an exceptional place and can only be highly recommended.

We came to Amrai Suites as external guests, just to have a drink at the bar, and the experience was honestly terrible. The woman working at reception didn’t even say hello – not a single greeting or smile, just pure unfriendliness. We stood there waiting for about 15 minutes without anyone acknowledging us. What’s worse, the receptionist didn’t bother to inform us that the bar only opens at 4 PM. We were just left hanging, until some gentleman finally told us to go to the restaurant instead. So we went there – and again, no one around. At this point, we seriously questioned if anyone was actually working in this hotel. Please talk to your staff about basic courtesy and communication. Also, it wouldn’t hurt to have more employees on duty. Waiting 15 minutes for a draft beer is unacceptable. Not a welcoming place at all – won’t be coming back.

We went for a girls spa weekend to Amrai and it was heaven on earth. Amazing hotel and design with a huge spa area. We loved the different saunas and relaxing zones and enjoyed the roof top pool. The room was very spacious, clean and modern. Dinner and breakfast were delicous. Everything was simply perfect. We really enjoyed our stay there and will be back soon.

Very nice hotel at the perfect location for hiking enthusiasts. Dogs are also more than welcome overhere . We stayed in a beautiful family suite with sauna. Very spacious and nicely decorated. Very comfortabele beds! Beautiful terrace with nice outside furniture. Everything was also very clean. Breakfast was very extensive and delicious, we were not short of anything. Dinner also delicious, but unfortunately some structure is missing in the service. Of the four evenings we were there, the service two nights was unfortunately substandard. One evening everything took way too long. The wine we ordered was still not there after half an hour. The other evening everything went much too fast. In an hour we were outside again (for a 6 course menu). A tip: allocate the staff their own tables and let the guests decide in the morning what they would like to eat in the evening. |Fortunately, the other nights the service was much smoother. |irrespective of this we had a very nice stay!
