Amross Motel

I highly recommend this accommodation. When I first entered the room, it smelled wonderful and was incredibly clean—there wasn't a speck of dust. The room was also very spacious and fully equipped with everything you might need. There's free Wi-Fi, and even Netflix is available at no extra cost! And I also liked super kind and friendly staffs there. If you're planning to visit Dunedin, I strongly recommend staying here.

A absolutely wonderful motel, and the owners, Barry and Donna, are the most hospitable couple we met during our travels through Southland. Their property is so clean and well presented, and only minutes walk to most bars and restaurants. We will most definitely stay again.

We had a lovely weekend at Dunedin and would highly recommend Amross Motel, started with a lovely welcome and lots of really helpful information for our next couple of days, the location is perfect, walk into town, the museum is really close and the stadium is easily walked to. The unit was just perfect, spotlessly clean and everything we needed. I would recommend Amross for your Dunedin stay. Hope we can get back, still so much we didn't get to do. Thanks so much

Nice and close to the town a ten or so minute walk. Barry and Donna as the Managers/Owners are just brilliant and so helpful, absolutely commend them. Cannot fault the accommodation. very clean and tidy and fully self contained. Cannot speak more highly of this accomodation. .

Great rooms, spacious and modern. Great showers (pressure and temp) and beds. Awesome owners - Donna and Barry. We rocked up on a Friday with no booking in winter which generally would not be an issue except that the All Blacks were in town to play France. We were fortunate to get their last room which suited us perfectly. Donna and Barry were very helpful and super lovely. Even helped us find a place for the next night when we were able to get tickets for the football. And left them a message to say we had left a couple of things behind. Will only ever stay here on future visits to Dunedin.

Barry and Donna run a great Motel. They are warm and inviting and extremely helpful. The rooms are always well presented and have all the amenities you need. In a great location walking distance from many great eateries. Thanks for looking after me on Business trips, Family holidays and romantic getaways guys.

Perfect location for a short walk into town. Very nice, comfortable room

Barry and Donna are the nicest innkeepers we've ever met! Our room was clean and neat as a pin and very nicely appointed. I was impressed with how thick and soft the carpet was, they didn't skimp on the underlay! We enjoyed watching Netflix, the TV worked great. They additionally supplied us with US-NZ electrical adapters and a drying rack after we did laundry (did I mention they supplied laundry powder for free?) It's a very short walk to Rob Roy Dairy that has the best ice cream!!! We would love to stay here again next time we're in Dunedin.

Barry and Donna make this place special, hence 5 stars! Nicest Inn Keepers ever! Very helpful, and just so lovely. The room was good, there's a washer for guests, it's easy to walk to restaurants, not too far from the Botanical Garden. Barry offered us a bottle of milk when we got there, and there were a couple of chocolates in the fridge. Not really a "5 star" hotel, but still a great place to stay that's not too expensive, and is in a good location. The room was clean and nicely laid out. We'd go back if we were ever in Dunedin again.

Perfect location to the university, a quick 5 minute walk. The room was large, clean, modestly decorated with updated kitchenette and bath. All appliances worked great. I would definitely stay here again. There is a little convenience store on a nearby corner for a quick purchase of snacks, beverages, ice cream, etc., two real grocery stores are about a 10 minutes walk south. If visiting I recommend taking the two hour city walking tour to familiarize yourself with the area. It really helps to get your bearings. Dunedin is a cute, big, little town with lots of twists and turns and history. But don't let the long summer days deceive you, get back early to find places to eat, many close by 9 p.m. The owners are very friendly, helpful, and cheerful. The cat, whom I have named kitty kitty, is very affectionate and fluffy.
