Amstel Station

Very beautiful, monument wall paintings. Always very clean. Easy access to bus.

My card didn't work trying to leave and there was no metro staff. Someone from the train staff helped me get out and was really lovely about it but I ended up getting charged for not tapping out. It would be nice to have at least one metro staff somewhere to help out.

I am fond of this station and use it s the starting point for many of my trips. However, some of the eateries here have closed or have seemingly random hours (Starbuck's). After 10 PM or so, the station is often home to a few homeless beggars or drug users, so beware. I have also never seen the ban on smoking be enforced by staff when someone breaks it.

Good connectivity with Buses and also nicely architectured.

The main building is a beautiful blast from the past. I'm so glad that they renovated and kept it.

Beautiful artdeco trainstation. Piano in the main hall, fast food and cheeky (€€€) AH semi- supermarket available.

Faceless railway station. Unpleasant because of the continuous smell of the several food outlets.

Practical station you can cross over to the metrolines at this station

Amsterdam Amstel is all about the location. It's not a major structure when you see it but a major location. This is a high end area and this station could be passed without noticing the trains or the trams. I give it five stars for the beauty of the architecture blending in with the surroundings as well as the travel options this station allows. If I were lazy after visiting friends out here and didn't want to cycle home, I could either get on a train or tram to eventually get home (hint - cycling is always faster and more reliable in Amsterdam). Nice station for going towards Utrech or Amsterdam Centraal. From those two options - you can get everywhere in Western Europe.

Amstel Station was the closest station to our hotel, so we were in and out of it quite a lot. It was bright, spacious, and easy to navigate. The workers were all very helpful whenever we needed assistance. We were most appreciative that the convenience store was open later for when we would come back from the main part of the city late at night and need snacks and beverages. We used the train to get to Centraal Station, but used the tram system just outside the station to visit the Museumplein. Both systems are very user friendly and easy to navigate for foreigners. 5/2020

Since this was the train station next to our hotel I spent a lot of time in and out of it. The station itself is fine pretty clean, a couple of food options and a few stores to get the essentials. I spent quiet a bit of money getting food and drinks at the convenient store after a long day of sightseeing. The folks in the train ticket area were super helpful when we couldn't figure out which tickets to buy or what stop we needed for things. The piano in the middle also made for good entertainment while walking through. My only complaint was there were train issues on the last day and no one could point us to anyone (past the gates) that could explain what was going on.. I had to go to another station with the wrong ticket to get an understanding of the situation. Honestly I still don't know what happened but I made it to the airport and I guess that's what matters most lol.

As Transportation stations go, this is a nice station. It clean, breezy and gives you easy access from all sides. It's easy to get to via auto, bus or tram. It has bicycle parking below grounds which are monitored. This nice part are the grounds on the north side. It very picturesque with some lovely art sculptors to view as you wait. I felt very secure and comfortable after arriving here as I waited for a friend.

Lucky for me that I live between Amstel and Rai Station, which allows me to have easier access to the train when traveling short or long distance. The station I think is ran pretty efficient, so not too many complaints in my book. I was happy to see that they recently placed a new Starbucks in the station. Wait a minute..... there is just one complaint. I would say Amstel Station needs a better solution for parking Bikes. It looks like a nightmare over there when it comes to crowded bikes. The city really needs to find a better solution for their congested bikes. The problem is people leave there bikes at the station to rot instead of donating it or dumping it somewhere else. I lived in Japan, so I know there be can better solutions provided when it comes to parking or organizing bikes.

The station is ok...I really like the plant decorations on the platforms. One complaint - their are ov chip card gates to get into and out of the station..and it means that if you dont need to check in or check out then there is only one gate portal that you can use - all of the other ones will close in your face...and this creates quite some lines in the rush hours...

Main train station in the east side of Amsterdam, and lies on the Amsterdam to Utrecht (and beyond) train line. The station hall itself is quite big and light, with very high ceilings. There is a good selection of shops with most of the usual characters of the NS stations - among others there's a AH to go, Etos, Starbucks, Burger King and Smullers. There's bike parking on both the front and back of the station, as well as free underground parking under the station!
