Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is one of the best airports I’ve been to. It’s clean, modern, and very easy to find your way around. Signs are clear and in different languages, so you won’t get lost. Check-in and security are fast and well-organized. The staff are friendly and helpful, which makes the whole process smooth. The airport has lots of space to sit and relax while you wait for your flight. There are many good places to eat, including halal and vegetarian options. You can also do some shopping or just walk around and enjoy the calm atmosphere. Getting to the city is easy too. The train station is right at the airport and takes you to central Amsterdam in about 15-20 minutes. Overall, Schiphol is a great airport—clean, comfortable, and easy to use. I would happily travel through here again.

This airport is awesome. The concourses are just the right size, great signage to get to anywhere you want to go in the airport or in the airport area, plenty of restaurants inside and outside of the airport with hotels, super convenient transportation with a train station included, and everything went smooth. All the staff at customs were very friendly and quick with their service. All the other staff were very helpful to other passengers who needed assistance. Getting a rental car from here was super easy as well. Overall, a very convenient airport to fly in and out to. Highly recommend this airport!

On the night of May 12th, I was at Schiphol Airport waiting for my early morning flight to Denmark. It was a quiet night, and while walking around Zone 4 to pass the time, I was surprised to see small mice running freely from one gate to another. At first, I couldn’t believe my eyes — I thought I might be imagining things — but it became clear that mice were inside the airport. Although I’m not personally afraid of mice, their presence in a major international airport like Schiphol raises serious health and safety concerns. Mice can carry diseases, contaminate food and surfaces, and potentially damage electrical systems. Even more disappointing was what I witnessed the following morning. Just as passengers were gathering for boarding, cleaning staff began their work directly in the waiting area. Shouldn't the primary cleaning operations happen at night, when fewer people are around? I think this was poorly organised and gave the impression of a lack of proper hygiene management. High-traffic areas like airports require thorough and regular cleaning to maintain a safe and sanitary environment for travellers and staff. Unfortunately, what I saw made me question whether Schiphol’s management is truly prioritising passenger health and cleanliness. I sincerely hope this review helps raise awareness and leads to improvements. Schiphol is an important hub, and I expected a much higher standard of cleanliness and organization.

I had a great experience during my layover at Amsterdam Airport. It’s incredibly convenient and easy to navigate, making the transit experience stress-free. The airport is well-equipped with numerous stores, offering everything from duty-free shopping to local Dutch products. It’s a fantastic spot to relax and explore, making the wait for your next flight much more enjoyable.

Amsterdam Schiphol Airport is truly one of the best airports in the world! From the moment you arrive, everything is smooth, efficient, and traveler-friendly. The signage is clear, making navigation through terminals very easy—even for first-time visitors. Security and immigration processes are well-organized and faster than most major airports. What really stands out is the world-class infrastructure combined with a calm, spacious, and clean environment. There are plenty of lounges, seating areas, shopping outlets, and food options, catering to every taste and budget. The airport is also very well-connected to Amsterdam city via direct trains and public transport, making travel extremely convenient. For long layovers, there are quiet zones, showers, and even a mini library and art displays from the Rijksmuseum, which is a unique touch. Staff members are helpful and courteous, and everything runs with the famous Dutch efficiency. Whether you're transiting or starting your journey here, Schiphol ensures a seamless and comfortable travel experience. Highly recommended for international travelers!

Google
The airport made a very positive impression on me. Although it's large, everything is clearly described and well signposted, making it easy to find your way around. At every step, you can get help from friendly and smiling staff – it's clear that customer service is a priority here. The entire facility is clean and well-maintained, and most importantly – there were no delays during my visit. Another big plus is the excellent transportation connection to the city center, which makes getting to and from the airport very convenient. Definitely one of the best airports I've used!

I haven‘t get around so much at the airport as we have not so we are in a hurry for checked in. We arrived 12noon and our flight was 1:20pm. Good thing they assist us and it went well. There‘s a machine where you can checked in your luggage on your own. It was like 20mins and we are already at the boarding gate. Still enough time before boarding.

Touchdown in Athens and wow — I could feel the pulse of history the moment I stepped off the plane. Athens International Airport may not be the flashiest airport in Europe, but it carries a sense of calm efficiency with just enough charm to make a first-timer smile. Immigration was surprisingly swift, and the staff? Warm, helpful, and welcoming — not always a guarantee in big international airports. Signage is clear and in English, which makes navigating easy even after a long-haul flight. The layout is compact and traveler-friendly. You don’t need to hike miles to get to baggage claim or the exit, which I absolutely loved after a long flight. Plus, the airport is well-connected — trains, taxis, and ride services are just steps away. Shops and restaurants inside are decent, with a few local gems like Greek yogurt, baklava, and souvenirs to tease you with what awaits in the city. Don’t expect a shopping mall-sized experience, but it gets the job done with style. Downsides? A little short on lounge space and charging stations. And while it’s clean and efficient, it lacks that “wow” factor you get in some of Europe’s more glam airports. Still, for a gateway to one of the world’s oldest cities — this place does its job well. Clean, quick, and with just a little taste of Greek hospitality to get your trip started right.

Yelp
A Modern high-end airport with plenty of places to charge your phone, lots of shopping, places to get a bite to eat, and excellent staff to assist and help answer questions for newbies in this airport. What I especially liked: Friendly staff to answer questions and provide directions The iconic tulip is ever prevalent throughout the airport. There are plenty of "toilets" Plenty of places to eat Lots of duty-free shopping

Yelp
Schiphol is designed and laid out very nicely. Roomy, easy to navigate and very accessible to transportation. An awesome airport with up to date modernizations. Lots of food choices with a wide selection of retails and specialty shops. And I have to give a huge shout out to all of the ticket agents, gate agents and information booths. All were friendly, very pleasant and provided service with a smile. Schiphol Amsterdam Airport is so efficient that I landed, went through customs, got my suitcase and was outta there before I could get any photos. lol. US airports should take a page out of their operating manual.

Yelp
SCHIPHOL WAS BRUTAL... Some issues arose immediately upon landing in Amsterdam and not sure yet if it's the responsibility of the airlines or the airport. Sitting on the tarmac for twenty minutes to wait for the trolley to transport us to the terminal. Then at the luggage carousel the monitor alerted delayed. After ten minutes, our luggage was rerouted to another carousel and finally found our luggage. Some stress finding our private ride but left the airport in one piece. NOT A GOOD START AT THE AMSTERDAM AIRPORT.

Yelp
Schiphol Amsterdam Airport is a beautiful airport. A lot of stores with Miffy souvenir. There are many amenities at the airport with numerous charging stations for devices. I believe there is even an area for shower. To make your visit even more comfortable, there are many lounges available.

Yelp
Security took about 30 min on a Wednesday morning around 7:30 am. Slow but organized. The customs took another 15-20 mins for self-service passport check. The eligible countries' flags for self service are on the sign. Walking to my gate took another 10 mins. So plan for about a total of one hour from the security to the gate. The signs for departure and gates are very easy to follow. High speed WiFi is easy to connect. Overall a clean and organized airport.

Yelp
One of the best run airports. Clean, organized, with plenty of seating with electrical outlets. Good shopping and food options.

Yelp
3.5 This is one of the nicer airports that I've ever been to. My inbound from JFK went by without a hitch. I did have to wait awhile for my bag to come down the conveyor belt, but that was the only bad thing. Once I had my bag, I noticed they had a train which would take you into the city. It was about 6:30AM and I didn't want to be bothered but I thought that was a nice touch and saw many people taking that option. I went outside to grab a cab and was quoted an $80 price, which I knew was highway robbery. I downloaded Uber and walked the long confusing path to the Uber pickup area and paid about $28 Euro ($29 and change USD). In short, don't take a cab here!, use Uber! On my flight heading back home it almost went smoothly but the dude at Customs was an A-hole, and I let him know as much. I had to do my VAT refund for my LV purchases and he made my experience horrible but everyone else at this station was excellent and friendly. The signage was relatively confusing and it's a very long walk to the terminals at this airport. Also, I thought there was a lack of eating options here.

Yelp
One of the better international airports I've been through with easy security lines, friendly staff, self-service passport control, dining, shopping, and ample seating - including a Tech Center. After my last experience at Dublin, I arrived several hours early to give myself enough time to get to my gate. Although you should arrive at least 3 hours early for international flights, Schipol was a stress-free experience. Plenty of signage around to help you figure out where to go. The train station is right outside the arrival area and there are kiosks to purchase your train ticket (the best way to get around Amsterdam). The Meditation Center is ideal for nerves before a flight or for prayer. Just don't be a jerk and use it as a hang-out spot to use your speakerphone. Farewell, Amsterdam...you exceeded my expectations.

Yelp
This airport is MASSIVE. We travel carryon only so we didn't have to deal with the luggage issues many people experience. We arrived 2 hours before our flight, breezed through security and headed directly for the new Louis Vuitton to get our passport holders stamped. Once we finished there, we headed to E gates which was a relatively short walk. The bathrooms are very clean, lots of great options for food or quick service.

Yelp
Definitely a premier international airport. Very clean, easy to navigate, with many dining and shopping options, lounges and more. I'll always choose Shiphol when traveling to/from Europe.

Yelp
Super easy to get in and out of. Plenty of good dining and shopping options including a large duty free. Available lounges fir *A are on the smaller side but there are several. Staff were all very friendly.

Yelp
I remember a connecting flight here where I walked for 35 minutes at a steady clip. It was crazy big, kinda hard to navigate, and exhausting. Not my favorite airport, but interesting nonetheless. Also, signs prohibiting balloons. Seemed an oddly specific kind of thing to ban. Anyway, I'm back and kind of excited and kind of braced for whatever. Just as bad as I remember. Unhelpful humans, bad food, overpriced everything, kind of a chaos train all around.

Yelp
Nice airport that has great access to public transportation, a good selection of stores and friendly staff. We took a bus from the airport to our hotel near the museums and a bus back the airport. Convenient and affordable.

Yelp
I had a quick stopover at AMS on my way to Florence. This was actually my first trip where I had a layover, so I was a little concerned that my first flight would be delayed, or that AMS would be a mammoth to navigate - so I really prepared for the worst. As soon as I landed in Amsterdam I was happy to see that navigation was relatively easy - there are clear signs marked where to go and it was a seamless transition from my gate over to Passport Check. The wait wasn't long to verify my passport, and they were shuffling people with close boarding times to ensure they wouldn't miss their flight. I didn't get a chance to explore much of the amenities, but I did notice several stores and eateries while walking towards my gate (I only had ~1 hour layover so I needed to move it). Boarding process was smooth - everyone I encountered was friendly and overall I had a super efficient experience at AMS. I wouldn't be disappointed if I landed here again, maybe next time to visit Amsterdam =).

Yelp
Easy to navigate large airport. Signs are in English. Easy to get around. Food and drink options are plentiful and the duty free isn't too bad. The customs/passport control line can get long so just plan accordingly. It does not move fast. but the folks there were nice.
google avatar

Yelp
This airport is not bad. It's weirdly located in Amsterdam and not on the far far outskirts or anything so you can take a train or taxi and be in the heart of Amsterdam in like 15-20 minutes. There is also a mall connected to the airport which I found very cool. Even Tokyo doesn't have that (their main airports are rather removed from city center). The inbound customs line was very easy to go through. Picking up checked luggage was easy and there was nobody checking customs. We just went through the Nothing to Declare line. The outbound security line is a bit strict especially if you are used to American TSA pre-check. You cannot leave any jackets on not even a very light jacket. You also cannot leave your boots on but sneakers were fine. Also all the signage is in English so if you're a tourist that knows English it is incredibly easy to maneuver around here.
google avatar

Thuy Dan T.

Yelp
Had no issues at this airport except maybe a slightly overweight bag that I needed to move some things around for. You check-in your own bags and they won't print your sticker if your bag is overweight or you pay the extra charge. The airport is large so be prepared to walk depending where your gate is. I found it very clean and clear signs. Some nice shopping spots especially for last minute souvenirs that weren't outrageously hiked up in price.

Yelp
What a nice airport!!!! I was in this airport twice in the past few weeks and I really enjoyed it. Very modern and spacious. It's a large airport and I never felt crowded. The bathrooms are very clean, modern, and really relaxing. Their goal is to make the restrooms a relaxing environment, and they succeed. Total privacy stalls, plenty of hooks to hang things, and modern sinks. This airport is very easy to navigate. Everything is clearly marked. You can catch a taxi outside, or hop a train right at the airport. All the food and beverages I purchased here were fresh and delicious. Many areas to relax, sit, and lay down. They also have a mini Rijksmuseum. It's lovely to see art. I found this airport to be very comfortable and enjoyable.

Purpose T.

Yelp
This airport provided probably the smoothest process I've ever experienced during my international travels. There's a lot of open space everywhere, which I really appreciate. The security process was surprisingly quick, very organized, and efficient. It was not difficult to find my gate and perhaps it was extremely empty because it was so early in the morning. I noticed more shops than eateries; there could have been more elsewhere in the airport. Overall, a wonderful experience.

Yelp
In my 29 years on Earth, I have NEVER traveled outside of the United States (yes, lame, I know). This was my first time ever traveling outside of the US, and Amsterdam Schiphol, while it was a 3-hour layover on our way to Budapest at the start of our trip to Europe, was the first airport I've been to outside of the US (Hungary was actually the first European country I stepped foot in). I went through Schiphol Airport three times during my two-week long trip to Europe - the first after landing from Harry Reid Airport in Las Vegas with the layover, the second after landing from Glasgow Airport, and the third on our way back home to Las Vegas. And let me tell you, this airport is HUGE! It's literally one big terminal that has everything smashed together. Getting through border patrol/customs was easy (this is also where I got my first passport stamp) and they have a special security checkpoint area for KLM priority/world business class passengers. Not a whole lot of people go through this checkpoint, which is nice. We hung out in KLM Crown Lounge 25 before boarding our flight to Budapest, but KLM Crown Lounge 52, the lounge we were in before boarding our flight back to Las Vegas, was a thousand times better than 25. 52 is much bigger, they make your coffee for you, and they have a spacious outdoor patio where you can watch planes takeoff and taxi to their assigned gates. I spent the entire time in the lounge plane spotting before it was time to head over to our gate, seeing unfamiliar airlines that I've never seen before alongside other airlines I'm familiar with. Schiphol, which is Europe's third busiest airport in terms of international passenger arrivals, was a breeze going in and out of, and I hope it stays that way.

Yelp
Very nice, clean and technologically advanced airport. Signage could be better. Lots of luxury shopping and dining options. Airport pricing is what you'd expect for souvenirs, snacks etc. I saw security yell at someone for taking a photo so I didn't take any.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing huge airport, so many stores and restaurants. Easy to catch buses, shuttles to hotels and trains to cities as well as your flights. The train to Amsterdam is about 20 minutes with a few stops. Easy to learn if any problems there is so much help around. And if you can find a worker, the Dutch people are always so willing to help.
google avatar

Doug B.

Yelp
How do you rate an entire airport? I am going to focus on the part that I experienced during this trip: I was transiting through from the US on my way to Spain, so I had to clear immigration to the Schengen region here before my "domestic" flight to Spain. We landed a little late and I was worried that I wouldn't make my connection. However, the airport is logically laid out and the signage is good. My departure gate was literally at the other end of the airport from where we landed, with the immigration gate in the way. I rushed to the immigration line and it looked to be about an hour long (you know, the common measurement of lines of people is the "hour"). The line was moving pretty fast and I figured I'd make it through in time. One thing that surprised me was that they had employees calling through the line to see if anyone's flight was departing within the next hour or so (they had specific times). If so, they pulled them from the line and ran them trough the automated/express gates. That was pretty nice and they I appreciated that, especially since they were calling my time just as I got to the front of the real line. I made it to my gate and there was a little coffee stand next to it. I had time to get a cup of coffee while waiting for the gate agent to start the boarding process -- I have no status, so I am usually at the back of the line anyway. Overall, a good experience.

Yelp
Schiphol, Amsterdam's airport, is simply wondrous! It is MASSIVE, so definitely give yourself a ton of time to navigate here if you have that luxury. AMS can be a bit chaotic, given how massive it is, especially if you need to go through customs. There normally is more than one customs gate, but when I was here looking to transfer flights, it appeared that only one customs gate was open and the line navigated through what felt like half of the airport!! Luckily, truly so luckily, I was only in this line for 10 minutes tops before they opened up the other gate as well, which was conveniently right by where I was standing in line, so they redirected us to the new gate and I was able to get through customs there in significantly less time than had I had to wait in the original customs line. I cannot emphasize to you just how long that line was! So I think depending on the time of day and week that you come here, you might run into that issue of a long customs line, but hopefully AMS is aware enough of this fact that they will know when to open up the other customs line to prevent a crazy long queue from existing for too long! After customs and as I navigated through to my new gate, you enter almost this shopping district/indoor mall area. There are a ton of signs to help navigate you around and are very easy to manage as many will be in English or at least contain numbers that help you to easily find your way. I needed to go to drop off some of my bags at bag storage first, and I had gotten a little turned around there, but there were tons of AMS employees stationed throughout to help get me back on the right track! Additionally, AMS literally has a train station stop within the airport, so it is very easy (and very cheap!) to use public transportation to get from here to the Amsterdam city center and I highly recommend it! All in all, AMS is simply just delightful. I'd happily come back here for any and all layovers! What a treat of an airport to fly in and out of, on top of an already positively stupendous trip to the Netherlands!

Yelp
Very confusing airport when flying from the US. The biggest confusion was figuring out how to leave and get on a train. Do your research before arriving; the counter workers seemed to think we should know this process. No complaints about the actual airport. It was clean, several food options, and city trains and bus options are connected.
google avatar

Katya U.

Yelp
Slightly complex airport but good instructions. Reserve enough time for transit. Easy access to the city and elsewhere. Lot to do and explore. Good spots for working and for coffee. Mostly super clean and comfortable restrooms. Have a fun trip!

Yelp
After getting sent from agent to agent because of confusion with KLM AND Transvia(who I never heard of), I was finally checked in. I flew in and they said they could not hold my bag for another day so I had to recheck in the next day. The flight was delayed until 10:30 takeoff the next day. I was then redirected to multiple check in locations. I was then told that boarding had began at 9:30 and I would not be able to board. What a mess they have at this airport. Totally unheard of. Next time instead of 2 hour recommendations I will be at these airports 3 to 4 hours ahead of time. A update to this review: The Travelers Service agent made it better by explaining international travel versuses domestic. Be there at least 3 hours in advance. I got a ticket and was on my way. Thanks to his service.

Yelp
It's an airport. It's wide open, clean, well managed, and has a good number of security and information people walking around. From the main Amsterdam Central station to here we were told great instructions on what to do. From Central you can buy a ticket at the yellow machine or scan your phone (with your debit card in your online wallet) to charge for the ride to the airport. Follow the signs at Central for your specific train. (If it ends with Schipol, you've got the right one) Once you come off your train follow the clearly marked exits to the upstairs/central area of the airport and check your ticket out then look for your gate. (Gate D is split into two groups, keep an eye on that) The airport will take you upstairs for security after scanning your own boarding pass, then you'll enter the airport to find your gate. Each gate has a separate seating situation, but over all they keep you in one area while your gates are inside a terminal that you access when your flight is boarding. Bring snacks if you're able, there's your basic airport mark up and a 3.9% mark up separate. Drinks aren't too expensive, don't fall for the hype. Bring a water bottle. The staff is knowledgeable, available, and helpful. Very good airport if only a little confusing at times, but this is all airports.

Yelp
Actually a pretty cool airport. Lots of food options and some pretty cool stores to shop in. Definitely could pass a few hours during a layover here without being so bored. Security was overall pretty quick. This airport is better than most!

Yelp
06/04/2024 Tuesday 11:25am. Beautiful airport. Modern looking. So many stores to visit while you wait. It is a large airport. Transportation is via shuttle to the terminal for departure. Bustling airport but one of the best I have been to. My only complaint is not enough charging ports.
google avatar

Vivi V.

Yelp
This airport was very easy to navigate. Thankfully, all of the signage is in English (and not in Dutch). When departing from this airport, you must go through security first, then passport control. There are a few passports that can go through a shorter line which include US, Canada, Japan passports are a few flags that I recall. Beware there is a tram that connects gates A, B, and C
google avatar

Matthew S.

Yelp
Schipol is one of the cleanest airports I have been to, to date. I have been to my share of airports, and this one easily ranks as one of my favorites in terms of service and navigation. The food options are okay, and some of the items are a tad pricey, but it is hard to put a price on comfortable seats in the gate area and a fun observation deck to watch the airport action. I regret not taking part in the latter, but to be fair, the weather was not the best upon my departure from Amsterdam. My flight was also a little delayed, but nothing that cannot be made up in the air. No need to fear, Schipol is here to welcome you!
google avatar

Todd K.

Yelp
Big and busy airport with a lot of nice high end shops and restaurants. The signage is somewhat confusing but maybe it's just me. Nice airline lounges.
google avatar

Amy C.

Yelp
Ive heard a lot if complaints about this airport , but my experience was pretty good. We had a 1 pm flight and theres a schiphol app you can download that will tell you wait times for security. It was accurate. Very efficient security and passport control. We had plenty of time to shop at the duty free stores and then wait at a priority lounge before the flight. Good shopping and clean bathrooms. The whole airport was spotless. Everyone speaks english and are friendly.
google avatar

Andrea H.

Yelp
Amsterdam Schiphol Airport is the main international airport of the Netherlands. Its easy to get to from Amsterdam City Center. There are trains that go directly to the airport every 20-30 minutes and it's a short train ride. The airport is big, there's nice duty free shopping and a few priority lounges to help kill time while waiting for flights.
google avatar

Dianna M.

Yelp
Nicely decorated for Christmas. Love that it's flooring not carpeting- makes it that much easier to drag your bags. Strongly disliked going through customs. Disorganized, chaotic, sprinkling of rude people cutting the queue. (I added a photo of those delightful little turds, below). We were in the customs queue for well over an hour. So, make sure to take a restroom break *before you hit customs at this airport. Three stars for the decorations and the staff in the booths at customs.
google avatar

Anthony S.

Yelp
Being American, one could get lost in the airport but everything is in English as well. We were able to locate our gate, luggage and food very easily. There was also staff around to help guide anyone having issues. Not sure how often I'll pass through Amsterdam but I'm comfortable knowing I will be able to easily navigate the airport.
google avatar

Deanna D.

Yelp
This airport is one of the nicer ones I've been too. There are plenty of places to shop and eat. I didn't really interact with much of the staff, but the ones I did interact with were nice. The bathrooms are incredibly small, I really didn't feel comfortable using them because of the size. They could also be cleaned better than they were. The toilet paper was also hard has paper towels too.
google avatar

Dee W.

Yelp
What a massive airport. You could lost in Schipol, tons of shopping and they also have a multitude of food selections. It was clean in the restrooms overall I was satisfied with my time here. They also have a nice lounge if you have Chase Saphire card.
google avatar

Jim W.

Yelp
As of this trip, I have made a connection here, been dropped off to catch an outbound flight, and arrived on an inbound flight at Schiphol. From what I have observed, I suspect that the airport was laid out before security became a major concern. I say this because there is no design consideration given to large queues. * Need to go through customs? Ok, form a long line here in one of the main commercial hallways while people have to cut across the line to get into or out of shops. Then get let into the actual small customs room in groups of 50 or so at a time. * Need to have a passport or ticket check for a connection? Queue up in the same main commercial hallway. This has the added excitement of people confusing the customs line for the ticket-check line. * Need a security check for an outbound flight? Just walk to your gate first and they'll wheel mobile scanning equipment up 30 minutes prior to boarding. (This was the case a decade or so ago; maybe they improved this last bit). I've certainly had worse customs experiences at European airports (I'm looking at YOU, Charles de Gualle) but this just seems bizarre. If you can't move people through basic functions of your transportation hub in an efficient manner, at some point it just won't function anymore. The queues will become unmanageable. If you are traveling to Amsterdam, you don't have much choice but to arrive here. However, allow a bit of extra time for the long lines.

Yelp
OMG, this airport is amazing! Make sure to allow yourself time to make it from one end to the other! They have restaurants, stores, bars, and everything imaginable in here. Think Forrest Gump..... well, maybe Tom Hanks and that movie where he's living in the airport. You could probably get away with something like that here. This is high speed. I wouldn't mind scheduling a long layover just so I can take in all the sights. It's also efficient where traveling is concerned. I was flying to Tanzania and had a layover. From getting off the plane to finding my next gate, I had no problems.

Yelp
Wonderful airport that is easy to navigate. If you don't see your flight on the board, they have machines where you scan your boarding pass and they tell you where to go. Very updated. Many shops. Security moved very fast.

Yelp
Checking in and going through security checkpoint was easy and hassle free. Plenty of shops and food through all the gates. Great place to fly into and out of.

Yelp
LOVE this airport more and more each time I come thru! The stores, public spaces and restaurants are all well-maintained and uniformly signed with integrated design throughout the airport. Their customs clearance is a breeze--I had a 30 minute connection and if you show your boarding pass they have a fast track lane so that you can expedite your departure. The help desk representatives are friendly and helpful in assisting to locate your gate. Found some massage chairs open to the public--what a nice amenity, in US airports I've only seen these available in retail locations of day spa-type rentals, or within specific airport lounges. Again super cool that they have an airport library with plenty of comfortable seating. This time I also noticed a nice champagne bar, which I didn't have a chance to stop by but it looked very nice.

Yelp
Such a big airport! Prepare to walk a long way to get to your next gate for a layover. Crowded and a little hard to find which way to go. Confusing layout and not a fan. So many people! Passport security for international flights during layover takes 10-15 min to go through depending on how long the line is.

Yelp
Whew, so this is a busy airport that I've flown in and out of twice this year. It's well laid out with lots to see both in and outside of security in terms of shops and food. I've flown both Delta/KLM and United and found the check-in and security processes to be pretty smooth. There is a train station right under the airport making it very easy to navigate out of the area if you prefer that mode but f travel. I also stayed at the Sheraton which is attached to the airport and nice if you end up stranded!

Yelp
Efficiency rules at Schipol. Especially if you're headed somewhere smaller from somewhere bigger, or vice-versa. Granted it's still strange to hop a bus to ride to your plane. You'll have nice smaller dining spots no matter which wing, and all your higher-end shopping choices in the main area. If you have a couple-hour layover be sure to check out the art museum to feel like you're a high-society critic, with famous pieces from lots of formerly-living artist greats. You'll have plenty of time to get where you're going, so relax and enjoy.
