Amsterdam Hostel Leidseplein

The room was clean, no bed bugs, good position, with a very nice Café next door. The host was very nice, the milk cream for the coffee was very good and the bathroom is completely functional, the only downside is that there is no bidet. Beds a little bit short, I'm 178cm and i could touch the end of the bed, without the possibility of letting them extend out of the bed.

Great stay at Amsterdam Hostel Leidseplein! The rooms were clean and comfortable, exactly what you need for a city trip. The staff were friendly and helpful, always available to give advice or directions. The location is perfect – right by Leidseplein, close to bars, restaurants, and easy transport links to explore the rest of Amsterdam. It’s ideal if you’re looking for somewhere affordable but still central. Would definitely stay here again!

I had an amazing stay at this Amsterdam Hotel Leidseplein! The location is perfect—close to public transport, major attractions, and plenty of restaurants. The staff were super friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with tips for exploring the city. The rooms and common areas were spotless, modern, and very comfortable. I especially loved the vibrant atmosphere—it’s easy to meet other travelers but also quiet enough to relax when needed. Great value for money, and I’d definitely stay here again on my next trip to Amsterdam!

Good one for solo travellers. 3 stock bedrooms. Clean baths. Bring your padlock for locker. The vibe is old and classy apt for young travelers. Works wonderful if you like meeting new people. Owner is a very helpful person.

This is a very basic hostel. I think for Amsterdam the pricing accurately reflects the quality. We were in a 12 bed dorm with 7 girls and for 2 out of the three night we had the room to ourselves. We did have a roommate on the first night unfortunately.. the cheap prices do attract a certain demographic. There was only one bathroom between the 7 of us and it was quite impractical. Make sure to leave yourself enough time before you go out to allow time to use the loo. Also the bathroom flooded when the shower was used just to keep in mind. There is no ac either but in reception they have fans so we would just sit in front to cool down if needed. There is also a microwave and fridge in the kitchen. Staff were lovely and accommodating and had no problem giving out extra toilet paper if needed. All and all good location good staff and I can confirm there were no bed bugs contrary to other review’s !!

I Stay here for 1 night which was pleasant. The is pretty good and very cooperative and friendly staff, Specially Mr. Norten (of the owners) care take him self to guests one by one. 10 out 10.. 100% recommended.

DO NOT STAY HERE!! BED BUGS!! I stayed at this hostel with six friends, and all of us have now developed bites all over our bodies a week later. We found bed bug blood in the bed during our stay and a live bedbug — we’re now left dealing with the physical discomfort and the stress of possibly bringing bed bugs home with us. This trip has seriously affected me. I’ve had to deep-clean my belongings, and I’m still incredibly anxious that the bugs are now in my home. What’s worse is the hostel offered little support while we were there or responded since we reached out. During our stay: • The toilet seat was broken • The beds were small and uncomfortable • The street outside was extremely loud until 4am, making it impossible to sleep • And despite reporting the issue, the hostel staff did not move us, did not check in, and seemed completely unfazed by our concerns This was not just poor service — it was a serious health and hygiene issue. I would strongly urge others to stay away from this hostel. Bed bugs are not just a nuisance — they follow you home, affect your mental wellbeing, and are expensive and difficult to get rid of. Until the hostel addresses these problems and improves its standards, it should not be taking bookings.

It’s a very basic hostel. Rooms are not clean and hygienic. Beds mattresses are very hard , you sleep on floor on bed it’s same thing. For lockers you have to buy locks separately and you are not getting recipts for what you buy anything extra and hostel you can pay by card but rest everything else need to pay by cash so it’s black money Staff is friendly. Morning coffee is good.
