Amsterdam Hotel Melrose Hotel

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great stay for our family! We stayed in a family room at the Melrose Hotel and really enjoyed it. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The location was perfect — close to the canals and easy to walk everywhere. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay, always smiling and ready to assist. Overall, a lovely experience and we’d definitely stay here again on our next visit to Amsterdam!

Location is great, walking distance to every where. Our room was in the basement and pretty small but good enough to just sleep. The advantage of being underground it was that was very quiet. I would add a few things in the room like extra hooks to hang towels and clothes. Extra face towels, they only provide one. A shelve inside of the shower to place your toiletries instead of on the floor and lastly, a stand to place our suitcases would be great instead of having to bend down. A fridge would be nice too, although there is one available in the lobby for comunal use. Other than that, everything was just fine. The best thing about the hotel was Mohamed from the front desk. We stayed there for a week and he was very friendly and informative. He would give us precious information about transportation and places to go and see. Very nice guy!

Nice quiet room. Comfy beds and a great location away from the main hustle and bustle of the city but close enough to walk the canals and to trams direct to museumplein.

PROS: Fabulous small hotel close to everything, yet quiet at night. Great checkin/checkout experience, and very friendly staff. Rooms are tight, but as advertised. |CONS: No onsite restaurant, but several cafes close by. NO FITTED bottom sheets, so after a few minutes you are sleeping on the mattress (like the 500 people before you). Easy fix, either get bigger sheets and securely tuck them, or get fitted sheets.||OVERALL: Highly recommend the Melrose Hotel for its price, location, and wonderful staff! Thank you for a great visit.

We had a very mixed experience at Melrose. The main issue is that the room walls are so thin and likely have no insulation inside them. Our neighbors kept asking us to move slowely and talk quietly (we had to whisper in the room!). Several other visitors had the same issue, so it’s likely an issue for all rooms. We didn’t feel comfortable. We warn noise-sensitive people from booking here. The service was okay but they didn’t refill any of the amenities in the room. I found it funny that they provide coffee at the reception except in the mornings haha. The location was great and close to key amsterdam attractions. I sadly will not come back even though I really wanted to.

Very central location, close to public transport. Within walking distance to tourist attractions. Lots of shops & restaurants around the area. The twin room is quite small but comfortable. There is elevator for those with mobility issues. The receptionists are very helpful and friendly, especially Mohammed.

The management of this hotel are shrewd and lack any kind of sympathy or compassion , I understand that they are not in the compassion business but sometimes it tells a lot about their hospitality||My son who resides in Amsterdam was diagnosed with cancer two and half year ago so I have been traveling frequently to Amsterdam during his chemo sessions always staying at the melrose mainly for convenient location to my son’s apartment||Eventually this last month (October) he passed away||My sister and I payed for the nights we are staying after his death, the bill was payed in full realizing that we are leaving on a Saturday morning the owner of the hotel with a cynical smile on his face demanded extra $75 when we attempted to tell him about the death of my son and how many weeks I have stayed at the hotel he showed absolutely no sympathy or understanding ||The attitude of this human left a very bitter taste in my mouth||If you can find a different hotel to stay at I recommend you do that||Mybfool@yahoo.com

Super clean and quiet space close to all areas we wanted to see. Friendly staff who were very responsive and helpful. A bit small space in twin bed room though- would have liked a table or shelf to put toiletries. Would stay next time in Amsterdam!
