The renovated King Street Station is compact yet beautifully restored. Preserving it's classic, traditional character. It felt clean and welcoming. I especially enjoyed hearing live voice announcements in addition to the standard recorded ones - it gave the station a good old America atmosphere. I had originally hoped to travel by train from Vancouver, Canada to Oregon, but since onboard immigration is no longer available, I had to take a bus to Seattle instead. In the end, that turned out to be lucky change, because it gave me the chance to visit kind Street Station, which was lovely and uplifting place to be. Ticket were assigned on the day of travel, and the process was surprisingly analog - staff manually checked availability and assigned seats by hand, which was quite impressive to see. The train itself offers a variety of travel styles, with observation cars, a dining car, sleeping cars and a cafe etc. the observation cars open to every one and features both cafe style 4 sear and soda searing for group of five, perfect for enjoying the scenery together. The glass ceiling makes the space bright and inviting, it was so comfortable I could have stayed there all day. The rear seats were extremely spacious, compared to airline first class. As a shower person, I was surprised that my feet didn't reach the door rear. The seats are wide, well cushioned, and recline almost flat, making them comfortable. For a long journey, I think travelling with private room, enjoying meals on board and spending plenty of time in observation car would be a wonderful way to experience train travel and I wanted to do in the future.
