Time to update this review...2 years ago I enjoy some decent service and food at that establishment , it is funny how things changes with time...today my partner and I stroll in order to fetch some food at the restaurant...looking forward for a daily special like we are used to find in the other community we were in recently (Cambridge bay , Kugaaruk) since they are all part of the Northen inns chain ...one would expect to be some sort of consistency....
Man, was I wrong!!...
Upon entrance, I was abruptly asked by the front desk troll, what was my purpose in the building... not even hello or good day,
ok, that was a bit harsh, but hey, it's not the Belagio... far from it... I get it.
I stated that we were looking for lunch fare and would would love a table...
At that point, with a contempt and disdain barely vailed, I was told that the restaurant was only for the hotel customer. This restaurant was not open to the public. As we should have known better to even ask and how dare we even step foot in here with such absurd request.
Normally, it would not phase me so much, but it is by far the most appalling lack of basic manners that really throw me off here.
I understand that some restaurants do not have the capacity to serve to the public, that's fair especially in remote communities, but at the very least, put a sign up...
And more so, if you have to turn ppl away, do it with some sort of decency.
This is a poor reflection on the quality services that the Northen inns as be providing for all the northen travelers.
Such a shame ...and be aware...
