Amuse Bar

Amused Bar served as the place for breakfast for Westin where I stayed for two days in Manhanttan. I had Latte often, the latte art was beautiful. For lunch I tried the vegetable pasta. It was super large, and good too.

If I could give Amuse 10 stars I would. The drinks are stellar, but the staff really make it. Cate, Amy, Brian, Guillermo, and the team provide impeccable service. They’re efficient, considerate, and sociable. The espresso martini is out of this world. I’m a local and I’m a regular. Whether you’re visiting the city or just passing through midtown, the open yet cozy ambiance of Amuse is an ideal reprieve from the city.

The perfect place if your accountant is the only person who has to worry about your money. $10 for a small side of (dry) breakfast potatoes? $16 for a parfait? Why? Is opening the yogurt and sprinkling granola really worth $16? We got the avocado toast, a coffee ($7!!), and a side of breakfast potatoes and it was $45. I'm all for paying whatever the price for good food, but this was not the place for that. Don't get me wrong, the food tasted good and the staff were nice, but $28 for some scrambled eggs and some toast...nope. We left and went to the Comfort Diner 3 blocks north. MUCH better.

Most expensive bland food I had. I ordered the salmon and it was a mistake. Quinoa was over cooked and watery, asparagus wasn’t cooked (probably thrown in the water for 5min) and salmon was ok. I also ordered a side of potatoe puree and asked if it was home made (10$ price) they said yes but clearly the taste and texture suggest otherwise. Staff is friendly but they had one server for more than 10 tables on an evening. Overall I wouldn’t recommend this place for quick dinner unless you’re ok with a club sandwich and fries (combo can be decent).

Staying at the Westin, of course you're going to get breakfast here at least once (it's free for members with status). The breakfast itself, when you finally get it, is filling and tastes decent, service is friendly. But prepare to wait at least 30-45 mins to get your food. It seems they hold orders and cook a large batch all at one time because you'll sit and wait and then finally food comes out for several tables. Overpriced, but it's a hotel, though this meal was free being a Titanium member so I can't complain too much. While there are only three options for the free breakfast, the standard amuse breakfast is a great option.

Its a great breakfast place with lots of option in fancy breakfast buffet. I liked the options, but its bit crowded in the mornings on weekends.

Food was really good. I had french onion soup and the baby greens salad. BUT…Service was sooo painfully slow’. To her credit, there was only one server for the whole bar/restaurant but it took forever! Soup, salad and 2 glasses of wine = $100 before tip!

I had breakfast here. This is your average hotel hot bar breakfast. $45 is quite steep for a buffet style breakfast that lacks options.

The Scarlet Vetter says..... I was stuck in Manhattan for an extra day and took a room at the Westin. I wasn't extremely hungry so I decided to go down to the bar and have a drink and an appetizer. It was a very nice bar with a great view with the street, good for a lot of people watching. I ordered a wonderful pinot noir and for an appetizer, I ordered the Hummus small plate. The establishment lost a star because the place was not very busy and yet the bartender was not very attentive and let me sit for 5 minutes. As a single woman, sitting alone at a bar, that is somewhat distressing.

My son and I stay at the Westin when we visit NY and go to Amuse a few times during our stays. Waitstaff is attentive. The food is delicious and drinks are on point. We like sitting near the huge windows looking out at the bustling street. Nice ambience as well.

Charlie and the Hostess on 5/27/24 were great! The spinach dip was very good and drinks were good. I will say the spicy margaritas had a good amount of liquor but were not spicy. The ambiance was nice and not too loud, all in all a great experience

Listen, I know this is NYC. I get it, when in Rome. But good lord. $26 burger (that was CHARRED), no free refills on soft drinks (once again, NYC, I get it) and 20% gratuity included when I see the waitress twice in a 40 minute span is just crazy work. Everything here is far, far too mediocre for me to ever remotely consider eating here again when I stay at the Westin. There is absolutely no effort from the restaurant to make you want to return to eat here again after your first time.

Amuse bar is a place where you will not be amused by the terrible service that they provide. It took nearly an hour before someone showed up to take my order. I asked for water from the beginning of when we sat down until my food arrived. I finished my food, and yeah, the glass of water I had asked for did not arrived. The waiters are clueless. Worst!!!

We ordered chicken wings and 2 iced tea each. The Iced Teas were $8/each. They also included a 20% service charge. Absolutely absurd!! The convenience of the lobby is not worth it, $36 for iced tea. Our total bill was $66 for 1 order of wings and 4 iced teas. #Robbed

We stayed at the Westin and needed dinner late. Service was friendly and prompt. Food was good but my steak was overpriced for the lack of tenderness (although it was cooked correctly at medium). Fries were standard fare. My wife had the turkey club and said it was good. The spinach artichoke dip was recommended by the server and quite good. They had tvs at the bar and it was a chatty environment.

Kate was very hospitable, the bar is lively, well lit and just noisy enough. Great place to drop in if you're in the vicinity in Midtown. Reasonably priced and great drinks.. get the old-fashioned with skip the espresso martini. The food looks great, I didn't order anything on this visit, Will if I return.
