Thank you for the wonderful experience.|We arrived at the hotel on a rainy night. The moment we entered the grounds, a dream world unfolded before our eyes. Our butler, Sola, was always attentive to us and gave us the best suggestions.|We were able to experience the spa during our two-day stay. We enjoyed the experience in a private space while listening to the sounds of nature. It was the best relaxation therapy I have ever experienced.|We also had three meals. The menu was extensive, so we were able to savor freshly cooked dishes until the very end.|On our way back, we were picked up and dropped off by boat, and the staff waved goodbye to us until the very end. We definitely want to come back here again.|If you visit Ho Chi Minh City, I highly recommend taking the boat to this hotel.

We had booked the Riverfront 2 Bedroom Villa and the Garden 2 Bedroom Villa for 3 nights each. The plus points for the property are: - Very attentive staff - Great location The minus points for us were: - Last order for the 2 restaurants is 9.30PM - we had other guests joining us who were flying in at night and had to order before 9.30PM - the order was then left on the table - they fortunately came by 10PM while the food was still warm and now the staff is watching and waiting for you to hurry up and leave. No further orders accepted even for a drink. If one is paying over $500 per night then this quite a surprise and shows a lack of flexibility. If one was to arrive at midnight if the flight was delayed and then stay hungry and thirsty till breakfast! - The 2 Bedroom villas do not have a common entrance so one has to go out to the next room. They are insulated from each other. As you can see from the pictures of the Garden Villa - the entrance for the 2 rooms is about 10M apart. The bathroom is on the ground floor and the bedroom is upstairs. These details are not mentioned anywhere on the hotel website. If someone has mobility issues then this room is a nightmare. - We could not use our villa pool as always full of leaves and was a waste for us. - The rooms require refurbishing - you can see patchwork repairs and gaps in the doors which also allows mosquitoes and lizards to enter the rooms. - The Italian restaurant is avoidable - If you are ordering poached eggs ask for freshly made otherwise they will palm off the cold ones during breakfast We enjoyed the location and atmosphere but the negatives far out weighed the positives for us especially if you are paying such room rates.

1. Room Condition The room was in excellent condition. It was very spacious, with a bed and sofa that were extremely comfortable. The bathtub was also large, and I thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing soak. 2. Butler Service The resort operates with a butler system. Our butler, Thanh (Solar), was truly delightful—very cheerful and attentive. He looked after us with such care that our entire stay was incredibly comfortable. From check-in and check-out to making restaurant reservations within the resort, everything was handled seamlessly. 3. Resort & Dining The resort itself is nature-friendly and offers a beautiful river view, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We were also very satisfied with the food at both breakfast and dinner in the resort’s restaurant.

Quite honestly the best customer service I have ever experienced in my life. An honourable mention to Tran who is so kind, accommodating, helpful and fun!! But literally every single member of staff is fantastic. The downturn service especially is such a treat, your room is prepared for bedtime!!! Not only is the service amazing, but the rooms (we have river view with a private pool), is spacious, beautiful decorated and super comfy. The showers and bath are excellent. The food on site is INCREDIBLE. I am a vegan, my husband is not, and we have both eaten like gods. Somehow the entire staff knew I was vegan within 2 hours of our arrival, even before our allowed check in time, and everywhere I go they immediately tell me the vegan options. At breakfast they offered me vegan options that weren’t at the buffet. Food and beer prices are very reasonable as well. The only criticism I have of the entire place is that the rooms could use a full length mirror so that I can check my outfit with my shoes together! That is literally the only thing I can think of!! We will be back, and we can’t wait. What a little slice of heaven.

An overall nice, quick getaway from the hustle and bustle of Saigon. The dishes from the Vietnamese restaurant are delicious and reasonably priced. The included breakfast buffet offers a good selection of dishes and features very attentive staff. However, there are a lot of bugs here, which made us feel uncomfortable at times. Don't forget to take advantage of the complimentary 30-minute boat ride from the city center to the resort.

Wow what an experience the accommodation was excellent staff super helpful and friendly. I travel all over the world for business and found that An Lam retreat was not just some accommodation it was an experience which I have never had anywhere else. The staff went over and above to make my visit as relaxing as possible. The food was amazing with two restaurants, an Italian restaurant and lounge, and a Vietnamese restaurant right on the edge of the Saigon river. The staff in the Italian restaurant new their product so well and we're super friendly. And the same for the Vietnamese restaurant and bar. And the breakfast was outstanding. I can't wait until next time I am in town.

Beautiful, calming place with amazing service and eye for detail. ||The service, food, massages, room facilities were all exceptional. ||The free speed boat to District 1 was fun and convenient.||A big thank you to Linh who went over-and-above to make our stay amazing in every way.

My Very Disappointing Stay:||Recommendation: Book somewhere else. There are plenty of properties around HCMC / Thuan An / the river which deliver more consistently on the “retreat experience.”||----|MAIN ISSUES DURING THE STAY:||Overall: not what I signed up for. If you have similar expectations to me — quiet, well-run service, good food — you may want to look elsewhere.||---||My Personal Experience||Here are the key problems I faced:||1. Baggage damage + refusal to take responsibility.||My luggage was damaged. When I asked for a quick fix, I was essentially brushed off and the blame was shifted — the item was shipped on my transportation without any repairs, so the hotel could avoid responsibility. Very disappointing.||2. Noise and inappropriate event allowed||This place markets itself as a retreat, a peaceful getaway. Yet during my stay, there was a KTV company event that ran until 11 PM. Loud singing, music, disturbance. How can a “retreat” allow that kind of event so late at night? Totally ruins the point of paying for peace.||3. Poor quality food||I ate at their Italian restaurant — the pasta was overcooked, texture and taste were bad. Overall the food quality was inconsistent and disappointing for what they charge.||4. Inadequate service and misleading promises||Some staff were polite, but in many cases, they seemed uninterested, slow to respond, or dismissive. Butler service is mentioned, but in practice it often felt vague or non-existent.||---||Similar Complaints from Other Guests||These aren’t just my issues — many others have reported similar problems. Here are excerpts from Google / TripAdvisor:||“The food is almost certainly frozen — tasteless and bland … steaks were as tough as leather.” ||“Karaoke singing across the river … loud and obnoxious … you could not escape.” ||“Mosquitoes were brutal … relentless … our bodies were covered in angry red blotches and welts.” ||“Rooms need regular maintenance checks as blinds were broken, remotes did not function and handles were broken off doors.” ||“There weren’t enough choices on the menu … portions are quite small.” ||---||Final Verdict||If I were you, I would not stay here again, especially at full price. A retreat should offer calm, attentive service, good food, and respect for guests’ comfort. This place missed on too many of those.
