We had a phenomenal stay at the InterContinental ANA Beppu Resort & Spa – without doubt the best luxury hotel in Beppu. From the very start, we were greeted with a warm and professional welcome and received a fantastic upgrade to a beautiful room with an unforgettable view of the city and mountains.||The GM and staff went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. The concierge was incredibly helpful in planning our local visits to the Beppu hot springs, including the iconic “Hells of Beppu.” The hotel arranged everything, including a wonderful driver who made our excursions effortless and enjoyable.||Dining was another highlight – we enjoyed two exquisite dinners at the top-floor restaurant with world-class cuisine and service. But perhaps the most unforgettable part of our stay was the onsen facilities. The serene, elegant design and soothing hot springs made for a truly rejuvenating experience – unlike any other.||In every way, this hotel exceeded expectations: top-notch service, impeccable rooms, outstanding food, and one of the most relaxing onsen experiences in Japan. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Beppu – this is luxury at its finest.

I recently stayed at ANA InterContinental Beppu Resort & Spa and had an absolutely wonderful experience. From the moment I checked in, the service was warm, attentive, and genuine. Although there was no twin suite available on my first night, the staff kindly helped arrange an upgrade for my extended stay. The communication was smooth and thoughtful, which made me feel very welcomed and well taken care of. The resort itself is stunning — beautifully designed, tranquil, and offers breathtaking views of Beppu. What really stood out to me, however, was the level of personalized service. One evening when I needed a ride and couldn’t find a taxi outside no bus, the hotel staff quickly assisted me in securing transportation. Small moments like this truly reflect the team’s dedication and care. I’m also grateful for the housekeeping team, who not only kept the room spotless throughout my stay, but even helped return a forgotten item after I checked out — promptly and with great care. Thank you to everyone at ANA InterContinental Beppu for making this stay so special. I’m already looking forward to my next visit.

2 nights for relaxation with my wife in Beppu. Security guard keeps the access to the front entrance. The valet service was very kind and the Check in was welcoming with a personalized touch as my wife's pregnant, thank you for all the attentions so we could fully enjoy the facilities until our departure. Big thanks to Mrs.Ann and Mrs.Lee. Thanks to Mrs.Matsuura who helped us for our room and amenities. The Breakfast was enjoyable and very copious thanks to Mrs.Sena, Mr.Terada, Mr.Dhamy, Mr.Shuto and Chef Watanabe. Atelier dinner was so delicious and well prepared, each dishes were full of flavour with local ingredients that made us visit Oita during dinner. Thanks to Chef Daisuke who adapted the menu for my wife and me. Also thanks to the originality of Chef Yuuta and Mr.Takahashi from Elements that made my dinner memorable. We visited the HARNN Spa where Mrs.Wasai and Mrs.Christina helped my wife for choosing the Harnn items, thank you for your time. the Lobby lounge was very cosy thanks to Mrs.Fariha and Mr.Choi as we sit at the resort center. The room was beautiful with a view to the Mt and Beppu city. The Onsen was relaxing and not too hot. We enjoyed too much this place thanks to all the team. Hope to come back and meet them again.

I stayed here about four months ago, and it’s a place I still think about from time to time. The onsen was truly excellent—the view from the outdoor bath made it feel especially relaxing and unique. Room service also left a good impression. For a hotel of this level, the prices were fair, and the food was genuinely tasty. What I appreciated most, though, was the staff. Everyone we interacted with was courteous and professional. I want to give a special mention to an employee named Lee. I was having a bit of trouble with Japanese, and he kindly stepped in to help in Korean. He even remembered my name during the rest of my stay, which was a thoughtful touch and made the experience more personal. I’d definitely like to return in the future. This stay actually convinced me to join the InterContinental membership program, which says a lot. Would absolutely recommend it to others.

The intercontinental was a little slice of heaven in Beppu. The view of the sea and city was wonderful. The rooms were super comfortable and had a very calming decor. The bathroom had great flow so there was plenty of space for two people. We had a fabulous dinner sitting in the bar area overlooking the city. The food was prepared beautifully. This place is not to be missed!!!

This is a beautiful property perched atop a hill with panoramic views of the Beppu city landscape. Service was the stuff of legends, as the team took excellent care of us and met all our needs swiftly and precisely. On arrival, the concierge will provide valet service for your car. When you want to leave the hotel, it takes only a few minutes for the valet to drive your car over to the lobby. The rooms were modern and adorned with Japanese inspired design elements. The sleeping area had two queen-sized beds instead of a single King-sized bed. Apparently, this is quite common in Japan. Staff across the entire hotel were friendly, polite, welcoming, attentive and detailed-oriented. They even scheduled the housekeeping service to specific timings according to our preferences. The only issue we had was the restaurants are all closed by 10pm, and only a limited menu of various onigiris are available at the bar and for in-room dining. Overall, it was a pleasant and enjoyable stay.

One of the best intercontinentals in Japan! Amenities and services are top tier. Staff are all caring and helpful. Thanks for making our Bepou trip great! Onsen has great views and doesn’t smell like sulfur. The only thing I think the hotel can improve is food. Breakfast has very limited choice. Club lounge has some extra choices for breakfast but after we stayed here for 4 days it kinda ran out of options. Afternoon tea and night cocktail at lounge were not impressive either. Hopefully the hotel can improve the food section then it will be a perfect resort in Beppu! We look forward to coming back again.

Room service was another highlight: not only was the pricing surprisingly reasonable for a hotel of this level, but the food was genuinely delicious and exceeded expectations. What stood out the most, however, was the staff. Every single person we encountered was kind, professional, and attentive. I especially want to thank an employee named Lee—I was struggling with Japanese, but he kindly approached me in Korean, helped me right away, and even remembered my name throughout my stay. That small gesture meant so much to me and made me feel truly welcome. I can’t wait to return. In fact, thanks to this amazing stay, I’ve even signed up for the InterContinental membership. Highly, highly recommended.

ICHBeppu goes beyond a 5-star rating in all ways. 1. Impeccable service! From the time we made our reservation, we communicated via email with the concierge, Choi, to arrange pick-up and secure dining reservations. When our train was delayed to Beppu station by 15 minutes, Choi waited for us and greeted us as we exited the station. Our ride to ICHBeppu was absolutely pleasant and comfortable with Choi sharing information about Beppu and sights to see. Check-in service was equally welcoming. We were greeted in the Club with a glass of wine as our check-in agent explained all the amenities. We briefly mentioned that we wanted to visit the 7 hells via bus the following day. Without asking, our helpful ICHBeppu hostess delivered to our dinner table a hand-written bus timetable for us to use the following day. Upon departure, we were ready to leave before the 10:30 shuttle and were happy to wait. However, our hosts told us that there were quite a few guests leaving at 10:30, so they arranged a private (paid-for by IHCBeppu) taxi to the station. 2. Room: We splurged for the executive room and I'm so pleased we did. Our room was absolutely beautiful and so comfortable. Our balcony had an impressive view of Beppu below. Our private onsen made this an absolute spa luxury. Our bed was extremely comfortable. The room was spacious and perfect in every way. 3. Resort dining: We dined at Elements for dinner, lunch, and breakfast. All meals were amazing! Just make a reservation to ensure your table is ready. Tip: the French toast is the best I've ever had! The amberjack fish (dinner) was scrumptious. 4. Location: The resort is obviously a bit from the station/city center which is how they boast the beautiful views of Beppu from the high hills. However, that doesn't diminish the location as there is a bus stop maybe 4 minutes (walk) from the resort. We used the bus to visit all the hells and dine in town. The resort is accessible even though it's not in the station center. All in all - everything was beyond amazing. This type of service and comfort will be hard to beat.
