We had a wonderful stay at Ana y Jose. The service is truly top-notch. Omar and Andres went above and beyond to make sure our family felt cared for and welcome. They even created a beautiful, unforgettable, and unique dinner atmosphere to celebrate our son’s birthday , a moment we will always cherish. They are wonderful and without a doubt, two of the hotel’s greatest assets. Melissa was also incredible, offering thoughtful recommendations that helped us make the most of our stay, especially since the beach had seaweed and we couldn't spend much time there. Thanks to her, we still had an amazing experience. We genuinely loved every minute of our stay. The people are what make Ana y Jose so special. This was our second visit, and we’re already planning another — seaweed season or not, we’ll be back!

Anna y Jose is a beautiful property with amazing customer service. From the concierge Paulina and Melissa to the attentive wait staff, William, Maria, Gaspar and Jose, they made sure that we were taken care of the entire week of our stay. The breakfast every morning was great, fresh fruit and typical local dishes were offered every morning. My youngest daughter enjoyed trading a joke every morning with William at breakfast. We did rent a car and the valet staff, especially Jorge were great. The hotel room was clean and comfortable. The cleaning staff was great and even found lost earring while cleaning the room. The property is safe and secure and the employees all make sure that guests are safe and comfortable. We will definitely stay at Anna and Jose next time we visit the Riviera Maya.

My husband and I went to Ana Y Jose beach club on a day pass yesterday. I received an amazing massage from Ernestina. She was very welcoming, professional and attentive to my massage requests. The atmosphere is also incredible with rippling water running. I would highly recommend this experience. |We also cannot say enough about how wonderful the staff was. They were always just a wave away from anything we wanted, so helpful and attentive but also allowed us to enjoy our time together. Gasper was exceptional! Keep an eye out for him when you arrive. Thanks to everyone for a most enjoyable day at the beach.

The restaurant at Ana y José is simply stunning. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner here every day for six days, and each experience was consistently perfect. The service is truly outstanding, the food is delicious, and the music and ambiance create a magical, relaxing atmosphere in front of the ocean. A heartfelt thank you to María, William, Orlando, and Daniel, their genuine warmth and attentive service made us feel right at home. Their friendliness added a personal touch that made every meal even more memorable. The Hotel review will be done as soon as we check-out.

WEDDING Review: We had our boho chic beach wedding here and had all our guests stay here for a long weekend and it was truly wonderful and everything I dreamed of. Excellent service, great hotel layout, was perfect location to spend unforced quality time with our friends and family. There are 4 Garden View rooms that share a private pool would ask for those rooms for a good deal :) Attentive staff. Wedding planners very responsive (there was a whole team of ppl that showed up on the day of the wedding - not just one planner!). Wedding felt very personalized. They do enough weddings to be experienced with them, but not so much that it feels like a wedding factory. Thank you so much!!! A few things to look out for: the room reservation process with blocks is a bit archaic (each guest emails the wedding planner). They don't have yoga but we went the The Beach (nearby hotel). If you have a large wedding party really want to pick a good spot for group pictures ahead of time. We paid for the Beach BBQ Catering package (delicious, family style) but noticed we didn't get all of the sides detailed in the package so would ask about that.

We had a romantic dinner for two. We saw them setting everything up two hours in advance. When we arrived, everything was decorated down to the last detail and beautifully laid out. The service was absolutely a 10/10 (a big thank you to Mike, Rolando, and Dani). The food came in generous portions and was excellent. Overall, we were very pleasantly surprised and would definitely recommend it!

Ana y Jose is one of the sweetest spots in Tulum. Not a huge resort feel, it’s quaint and quiet. The pool was such a savior! The rooms were so so clean. The staff remembered all of our names and took such great care of us. Melissa booked anything we needed and knew every place in the area. We were so grateful for her! We will be back!

My husband and I spent 10 days here. We had the Anemona room and we had a wonderful time. Breakfast was included in our package and it was delicious each day. The service was excellent- we especially enjoyed the helpful management Pau, Melissa and Miguel. It’s very walkable to many shops and restaurants and the beach is just beautiful. They also take security very seriously. We left some items on the beach and security took them for safe keeping. Also while my husband was away, a man selling jewelry approached me. I was never in any danger but I noticed the security gentleman came and stood very close to me until he left. We loved the chocolate each night and the fresh juice with breakfast each day. If I could make one request it would be that they update the gym a bit. We would definitely return.

Yelp
Restaurant Review: We stopped here after seeing it from the beach- it looked super cute and well kept so curb appeal is 5/5. The food was OK. Big emphasis on the OK. It was overpriced, but so is everything in this tourist area. We ordered a water, Diet Coke, 2 personal pizzas and fries and our total was $70 USD. All was pretty average but the service was not great. The waiters did speak English which was a plus but they weren't very attentive and there was tax and a service fee added to our bill and we were still urged to leave a tip- it made things awkward and we were ignored most of our time there anyways. I'd skip this one!

Yelp
Poor service, and food. Limited menu options and unhelpful staff. Not a great experience, would not recommend staying here.

Yelp
HOTEL ONLY clean and really nice! Would recommend and stay again. Especially after hearing horror stories from nearby hotels that hot water would take 15 mins, power outages for hours in the heat and no AC or TV WE had none of those issues. Nice cold room. They cleaned it twice daily and left treats on the bed and a cold welcome coconut to drink on welcome! Now food and drinks go somewhere else. Don't recommend at all but hotel was so nice I would go back.

Yelp
Incredible massage!!! We came here, my bestfriend and I, and were blown away by the amazing massage. One of the best I've ever day! Highly recommend!

Yelp
We went to the restaurant only as we stayed at a hotel 5 minutes away. The entrance was on the main road and we walked up the path to the beautiful restaurant near the beach. The food and service was amazing. Food was worth the price in comparison to other more expensive restaurants. It was nice to be away from the busy road with all the loud music and cars. This was definitely one of my favorite spots to eat in Tulum.

Yelp
This is our second time at Ana Y Jose and they have amazing customer service. The food is amazing and everyone is so welcoming and very kind. Every time we come to Tulum we will be staying here. It's in the middle of everything which makes walking to everything so easy. Definitely recommend! Beautiful placen

Yelp
Quaint beach side hotel in the jungle. Loved the beach club, great service, good drinks and fresh seafood. Massages available at the spa, but it's a little pricey.

Yelp
Where do I begin...we needed a vacation from this hotel-We arrived after a long flight to Ana J Jose in Tulum which essentially Thor neighbor plays Excruciatingly loud techno music until 1am that literally permeates every cell of your body! The reviews claim a year ago that they were working on it but it's still the same! The day after our arrival the concierge booked a trip to Yux-Muul Cenotes -we asked Sofia at concierge," if we could have a bottles of water for our trip and she politely told us, "no problem, the driver can stop at seven eleven to buy water on the way." We we're baffled! Essentially, customer service is very minimal at this hotel and training is needed. We tried to book parasailing and she quotes us 3x more than the website was suggesting-NOT OK ago feel like a walking cash machine on your vacation. Upon our arrival, at Yux Muul, we placed our personal items in their safety lockers and when we returned the locker #33 was broken into and all my items were stolen-within 40 min later the thieves were charging my credit cards at the nearest mall. uUpon my return to the hotel, I informed our "concierge." and she said she would get back to me and never did. The most amazing people at this establishment is William who goes above and beyond to prepare anything for you to make your meal worth while. Damien is an asset to this hotel as he speaks multiple languages and is hospitable, kind, knowledgeable and very helpful. I highly recommend that this establishment utilize Damien as he is an amazing representation to any hotel! While our room was an ocean view, we could still feel our walls vibrating from the techno music. it's was painful -all day long was techno-The whole strip is a party town with very little peace provided! As for the food, we had to go out to eat every night! Way too much work for a holiday!

Yelp
Tried the restaurant (staying at a nearby hotel), and was not disappointed. Drawn away from the busy street with its loud crowded flashy restaurant options by the alluring entrance (beautiful coy pond and a mysterious torchlit pathway into a jungle scape)... we came to an absolutely beautiful cloistered restaurant on the beachfront- great design and lighting, with seating options with water view and sea breeze, or set back in a lavish space that felt more enclosed. The service was excellent, and the food from start to end was fantastic. The pricing was reasonable too, which was surprising considering the quality of the experience and the pricing of the competition. Loved the music- a good option for dining where you can actually have audible conversation.

Yelp
We paid for all inclusive. Customer Service was absolutely terrible and didn't accommodate/compensate for any of the issues that we had. The restaurant workers did not communicate very well with each other or us to understand our dietary needs and the food was not very good at all. They had extremely slow service and they were not consistent with the quality of food. They Charged us for a whole bottle of $2600 tequila from the mini bar in our room, when we only had two shots and they replaced it with a new bottle the next day when we planned to drink the rest. They refused to take any of it off our bill. All the alcohol there didn't even get us buzzed it most definitely was watered down. My boyfriend is vegan and we let them know before we arrived and made it very clear that we have diet restrictions which they acknowledged and said they would accommodate. At the restaurant they didn't seem to know what vegan was and one night they told us that they couldn't make anything vegan for my boyfriend and ended up giving us a terrible dish that took over an hour to make. He went to bed very hungry and it ruined our night and dampened the next day too. They tried to keep vegan options available after that and that was the only time they tried but still never compensated for the loss of food on that day. We waited hours for scooters to arrive that the hotel said they would get for us but they never got them. But when we went to go find some ourselves we found plenty of scooters for rent and our time and day was wasted. We are very frustrated with our experience and we feel ripped off and not accommodated.

Yelp
Stayed here recently with my partner for 4 nights and we had a great time! The hotel is centrally located to everything! The rooms are clean you are provided a bottle of water daily and every night they gave us a little chocolate! It was a great touch! The food was excellent at the hotel restaurant. The beach had very nice chairs and cabanas to sit at. Overall I think it's a great place to stay in tulum. All the staff were very accommodating and I'd recommend to anyone.

Yelp
First off, there is a super cute walkway toward the open air (with a roof) restaurant facing the beach and the tables are adorned with cute macrame placemats! The seating is on top of sand and the dining experience is pleasant (in shade, no mosquitos/flies, cool breeze, and calming view and sound of the ocean). It's a nice spot to grab breakfast if you want to pay a bit more for ambiance and service. There is wifi if you need to do work on a laptop and valet across the street for like 60 pesos I believe. I had the chilaquiles with both sauces and an iced latte, and my friend got oatmeal and an espresso (boring I know). The latte was ok, it was hard finding a decent iced latte in Tulum Beach (Holy Deer Cafe was probably the closest but we didn't get to check out Coati which was further away but recommended by our hotel). Chilaquiles were bomb, it was my first time ordering them but they did not disappoint. Tables were spread out, staff was attentive, and food and drinks came quickly. Overall we had a nice experience here, would come back!

Yelp
WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL ABOUT ? I am writing about the restaurant, not the hotel. Again, I am on the beach and this beach club was written about glowingly in many diferent places. Where did they all go? Not here. Yessir. The former was north on the beach from the hotel, but now defunct. The fun went with it :-( However, the beach here was quiet and peaceful. And I saw my first topless sunbather that was over 7 years old. Yeah, not happenin. Meanwhile, back at the indoor/outdoor restaurant, I was pleased to get a bacon cheesburger. HUGE! My ice tea was warm, but maybe that is now it is served in Mexico ? I have come to the conclution that at all these beach restaurant/hotel, the "B" squad works during the day. Hopefully, Varsity servers are played in the evening. Omg, again, I waited an excrucitingly long time for someone to notice me, and to get my food. To make things even worse, the cashier gal I finally approached told me NO when I asked if I could eat in here! Whaaa...... Then another employee came and told me I could. Sometimes I certainly feel invisisble down here. So far many many of the service staff I've encountered have been SSSSLLLLOOOOOWWWWWW. Wow, in USA that would never fly. Even though the cooked to temp burger was excellant quality beef, waiting for it was not a good use of time, but, WAIT ,l ook at that view ! It is difficult to stay pissy when you are watching the waves roll in and all that goes with the beachfront. That vision will be embedded in my mind everytime I have a burger in a sports bar in MN. Worth the extra cost of the lunch. Basicly, the menu looked like every other beach front menu. Hopefully the waiters are more expediant at night. The whole entire place was nice and clean, and the banos looked new. A " CHEESBURGER IN P A R A D I S E "

Yelp
We've been to Tulum many times, and this year we decided to stay at Anna Y Jose. It's a nice hotel and we rented a villa with a private backyard and small swimming pool. Our first night come 8pm, very loud techno music played until 3am - we all thought it was just a Saturday night thing. It wasn't at Saturday night thing, it was a every night thing. At some points it was like sleeping on a dance floor. We were a mess by the time we left this hotel. The staff just kept telling us there was nothing they could do about the noise. The staff was nice but kept pressing us for cash tips. We were fine with this until we checked out and realized they were also charging us service fees as well. The registration staff were very aggressive about us signing the bill, when we asked to see the details of the fees. This was a terrible experience. Do Not Stay Here

Yelp
Amazing food. This place is next door to the beach hotel where Rich had his wedding. I love that the restaurant is on the beach, but raised a bit and has a tiled floor. Most restaurants are in the sand and I've been having issues with little bugs bitting me while I eat. -Guacamole add the crispy meat 10 -shrimp tacos 9.5-10 -steak tacos 9.5-10 But the stand out item is the side of habanero sauce. The flavor is amazing.

Yelp
The stuffed calamari was fantastic, as well as the ceviche and the fish sian kan. However, my filet mignon was thin and over cooked. But even with that, it was 4 stars. And honestly, why was I dumb enough to order something other than seafood at the beach. Beautiful setting. And Enrique provided top notch service. Well done guys!!!!

Yelp
Just to be clear this is a review of the restaurant. First I would like to say that the atmosphere, which includes the restaurant area and the beach area next to it are great. all places were you can sit and have your meal served. The servers were extremely helpful and polite (more here). The food however, was so very disappointing. We ordered: * Octopus in Garlic - The octopus was poorly cooked, the flavors didn't come together. * Prawns in cheese and mushrooms - Probably the nicest dish, though, a big mush. * Salad - yuk, poor concept. Ingredients didn't come together. Overall the ingredients looked okay, however, they way they were put together was just disappointing. Maybe if the prices were lower and the recommendations were not as shining this would've been a better experience but the food just didn't work. Dare I say it was the worst culinary experience in the area and we ate everywhere...

Yelp
Amazing beach. Very well maintained resort. Very clean. Area surrounding hotel is sort of a group of castaway style tropical resorts perfect for romantic couples or to get far away from hustle and bustle. Very secure area. Recommend nearby Papaya Playa Project for Sat night club or dancing. I would go back and stay here at Ana Y Jose. Only reason for less than 5 star rating is rooms are dark, there's no gym, and pool is small. Other than that it's great.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel with AMAZING staff. Paulina is truly the nicest and most helpful person. Great experience and would definitely stay again.

Yelp
This resort was lovely and absolutely top notch from check in to check out. Evelyn took care of us upon arrival, & every time she encountered us for 6 days, she greeted us warmly like she was our long lost friend, & very sincerely. The staff was friendly, warm, hospitable, and took care of us at every turn. The food was delicious - the drinks were great, and our casita (Villa Coba) was fantastic. It was the perfect home base. Our family (2 kids 10 & 12, plus 2 nieces from Germany 21 & 25) had all we could possibly have at our fingertips. A pool with a lounge bed, a lounge bed at the beach, 3 bedrooms in the casita, a lovely restaurant, and all kinds of sites to see. It was so fun! The best part of our stay - and it sucked as a mom - was my 10 year old daughter got lost as we walked back from another hotel where our family friend got married on a pitch black night. She just darted off as we walked off and she was swallowed up by the night. It was a roaring, rough, high tide, and she couldn't hear us yelling for her & we all went past the hotel as we walked to our place. As we reached Ana y Jose & realized she wasn't there, I started to wail, and one of the staff rushed out to me and quickly took matters into his hands, and gathered an emergency plan and staff into place, and the police were called to search for her. She was missing for an agonizing 90 minutes, & it was the worst experience of my life. I have never experienced panic and absolute insanity of the soul in my life before. They took care of me and my family, & when my girl calmly walked up, they all offered 'mama' a drink at the bar on the house. They were so compassionate and lovely. It really restored some of my faith in humanity. Every time I saw any of the staff who helped, they all gave us hugs and told us how happy they were that we ended up with our girl safe in our arms. This is a place run by some really great people! Thanks again from the Castillo family. Words can't express our gratitude for your kindness and quick call to arms when we needed it. Xx

Yelp
READ BEFORE EATING HERE! This is a review for the restaurant Ana y jose. Unless you would like to spend 2 -4 days of your vacation projectile puking and diarrhea do not eat here. My wife and I ended up with severe salmonella poisoning. We know it was here because we always ate at the hotel we were staying at. One night...bad decision. This was not Montezuma's revenge! It was foodborne salmonella poisoning due to the unsafe food handling practices this restaurant allows.

Yelp
My husband and I had dinner at Ana y Jose on 3/16. We had a wonderful evening and it seemed we were at the start of an amazing vacation. We had the Grouper with vegetables and the stuffed Poblano pepper. At about 4am my husband awoke with severe abdominal pain, fever and was violently vomiting. This continued for the next 6 hours. Shortly after, I also became sick with the same severe pains and diarrhea. As a result we had to cancel our excursions and all plans, we spent the week exhausted and trying recover. Most alarming was how horribly it was handled when I walked down on Sunday afternoon. Keep in mind, before this I wasn't well enough to leave the room and I wasn't able to get them on the phone AND they did not respond to my husbands email. I was greeted by Ulises, the new restaurant manager who has just started there. I told him what happened, he apologized and asked how they could make this up to me and my husband. At first I said there was nothing they could do, we're both sick and exhausted from what we ate. He asked to make it up to us and I responded that the only way to rectify this would be to absorb the cost of extending our stay until we are well enough to have the vacation that we had planned on experiencing or invite us back for a complimentary stay but that we would not eat there again. At that point he got the resort manager Rene, who was completely dismissive and rude. He sat down, crossed his arms and asked me what my problem was. After explaining - he offered us lunch and spa services. I let him know that our bodies were too sore from vomiting to receive massage and that we would not eat there. He then told me I didn't know better and had drank the water. Absolutely not, we are experienced travelers. I told him that he has to look into his kitchen - they are not following proper protocols or his supplier gave him tainted vegetables or fish. He finally turned his back to me, threw his hands up and said I was impossible to help. I let him know what I found most concerning is that I he isn't even going to investigate and check his kitchen to ensure this doesn't happen to anyone else. I pointed out to him that I had been so sick that it was now 2 days after becoming ill that I was able to come here to tell him - think of the other people who just haven't been able to communicate that they had a problem. I was stunned at his total lack of concern and I wasn't going to bother speaking to someone who was turning his back to me. This resort is beautiful, please be careful before you eat here. We are home now and still not completely well. Wed had to go to our doctor who prescribed us a round of antibiotics and still suffering from stomach issues 10 days later. If you look at the list of reviews on Trip Advisor, there is also another documentation of another restaurant guest with Salmonella during this time frame.

Yelp
Review of restaurant not resort. Friends recommended the resort so we decided to check out the resort for lunch. The service was great, views beautiful, but as foodies we can't in good conscious recommend the restaurant. We ordered the grouper ceviche, recommended by the waiter which was good. However, we also ordered the whole fish (catch of the day- snapper), written on the menu as served with herbs and wood fired. Interestingly, we were asked whether we wanted it fried, which we explained we wanted it as it stated on the menu. We were served a red snapper Veracruzano style (olives, tomatoes, basil) which wasn't what we had in mind as the menu stated wood fired with herbs but typically we like Veracruz so we went with it. It was okay, not bad, but definitely not great either - lacking in flavor, which luckily we had brought our own spices and requested additional salsa. We were shocked when we received the bill and it was 1250 pesos / $62.50 USD for the snapper alone. Overall we felt the restaurant was far overpriced for the quality/ taste. We ate at kitchen table and Mina (both amazing) for much less. With all the amazing restaurants in Tulum, unfortunately this is not one we will return to.

Beka G.

Yelp
My sister and bother-in-law had their wedding here and the hotel and staff were amazing. The restaurant was also good and we basically had the majority of our meals there. Outside the hotel, the beach and scenery are beautiful. If you are looking for a place to get away and relax, I would highly recommend Ana y Jose.
