Wonderful, authentic beachfront stay — cozy, charming, and family-friendly||We stayed at Ana y José for five nights as a family and it was exactly what we were hoping for.||The entire hotel—including the room—felt cozy, authentic, and charming. It has a relaxed, intimate feel that’s a refreshing change from the big, impersonal beach resorts in places like Cabo or Cancun. Everything is close together and thoughtfully laid out, making it very easy to get around.||Housekeeping was excellent, the room was very clean, the air-conditioning worked well, and noise was never an issue. We slept comfortably the entire stay.||The beachfront location is beautiful with easy access to the beach. It was not too busy—just right—and because we were there in December, the seaweed was very light. Beach chairs and towels were terrific, and it was easy to settle in and relax.||We ate and drank at the hotel, and while the food is pricey, that’s true everywhere in Tulum. The upside is that everything we had was delicious, including the drinks. As a general recommendation, we tipped in cash, which we prefer to do when traveling to ensure that the staff receive it.||Service across the board was excellent. The concierge was incredibly helpful and arranged a private tour to a cenote and the ruins for us. Our guide, Gabriel, was amazing—knowledgeable, friendly, and made the experience really special.||I also had a massage at the hotel spa, which was fantastic—highly recommend.||Overall, Ana y José feels personal, relaxed, and genuinely Mexican in the best way. We would definitely recommend it to families or travelers looking for a calm, authentic beachfront experience. It may not be the best fit for younger travelers seeking a loud, party-heavy atmosphere—but if you want charm, comfort, and great service, this place is a gem.
