Ananas Samui Hostel

My partner and I travel frequently, and this was without a doubt the most beautiful and idyllic place we have ever stayed. Every detail was simply perfect. The lovely elderly couple who care for this home put so much heart into it, you can feel it in every corner. I felt completely at home, only even better. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. ♥️

Very, very tranquil and homely place. It is located within easy reach of the beach, a 7-11, fresh market for fish, fruit and veg. The surrounding area is beautiful, you are practically in the jungle, and if you like plants and flowers you will be in heaven. The owners are lovely, they can't do enough for you. Laundry can be done for you at 60 bhat per kilo, there are cooking facilities, a swimming pool, air conditioning in the rooms, just an all round lovely place for a quiet retreat. If you want to chat, the people here are chatty, but if not that's fine too. I highly recommend this hostel.

We stayed for just one night on our way to Koh Tao. The hostel staff were all very friendly and helpful. We booked a two bed room but because it was quiet they moved us to a six bed room which was obviously bigger and in a better place. Everything was clean, the food was tasty and the pool was great! The location was ok, only a five minute walk to a beach but the beach was very empty and there wasn't much to do there. You would have needed a taxi or a bike to get anywhere else and the taxi to the ferry port was quite expensive, but as we were only staying one night it was not a problem. Overall a pleasant stay.

We regret to report that our stay was unfortunately overshadowed by significant stress caused by the host's actions, preventing us from leaving a positive review. 1. Reckless Handling of Passport When we rented a bike, the host requested our passport as a deposit, a common practice in Thailand. However, she subsequently misplaced it. She had left it openly on a table at the reception and initially accused us of taking it when she could not find it. The next day, she realized we were not at fault, but its whereabouts were still unclear at that time. She admitted to having left the document on the reception table overnight, which immediately made us fear it had been stolen. This demonstrates a profound disregard for the safety of guests' vital travel documents, an oversight that could severely ruin any trip. 2. False Accusation and Threats After Check-out Upon check-out, the host threatened to call the police and report us to Agoda, falsely claiming we did not pay 270 Baht for our breakfast. This is untrue. We paid for the breakfast immediately after finishing it via PromptPay and informed her of the transfer. We are thankful we had saved the payment receipt, as without it, we could not have disproved the accusation. What she saw on cameras? Why start your messages with threats to call police and report us to Agoda for something we didnt do? 3. Safety Concern with Aggressive Street Dogs The property's area has many aggressive dogs. One evening, a group of them ganged up on us as we returned, forcing us to defend ourselves with whatever we had at hand. This poses a safety risk for future guests. We hope this review alerts potential guests to these serious issues concerning document security, host professionalism, and environmental safety.

It was my second time staying in this hostel so nice to stay there really nice people, it feels like being in home. The owners were really cute and so helpful. The location is really calm and in nature really near to a beautiful beach. The laundry service is amazing so fast and really nice clean ironing. All in all I would stay there again. 🫶🏽🫶🏽✨✨✨

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) The lady at the counter is very kind and friendly, making the whole stay feel welcoming. The room was clean, tidy, and comfortable. The price is very reasonable compared to the great facilities provided. Big plus that they have a nice and clean swimming pool. I’m a tourist from Malaysia and I will definitely come back to stay here again whenever I visit Koh Samui. Highly recommended! 🌴✨

the rooms were clean and we had an Ac which worked great. we had a private bathroom that wasn’t attached, but we didn’t mind. bathroom was clean aswell and got cleaned every day. the location is quiet, its more far away from Chaweng and other touristy areas, which we liked. a 7-eleven is approximately 10 min in walking distance, but we would definitely recommend to rent a bike. the hostel owner has bikes to rent too and you can even get your laundry done. the Lady that owns this hostel is the nicest! she always welcomes you with a smile and is adorable. we rented our bike somewhere else because the last option she had was too big for us. we accidentally broke the phone holder and she told us where to get a new one really cheap which was really helpful. she even offered us that her husband would install it for us, which he did. so all in all a 10/10 experience :)

I love Ananas. The host is so beautiful and friendly. They were so helpful from getting to places. They have bikes to rent and taxi which they do themselves. The rooms are so clean & comfy. 100% will come back when I’m in Koh Samui.
