Anantara Bazaruto Island Resort

My wife and I stayed here for five nights in July. From start to finish we found everything to be well organized, professional and personable. We opted for the boat ride to and from the island. The crew were all very helpful and ensured our transition from the boat to land was smooth. We had an ocean front room with a private pool. The view was stunning and the access to the beautiful beach was only a few steps away. There is plenty to do there and scheduling activities is easy. We mostly chilled at the spa, but we went snorkeling as well. Again, the boat crew were great as were the reefs and fish. The water was a little chilly for us and we should have taken the wet suit. Next time. The food was great and the service was impeccable. They go out of their way to individualize each experience. If we every make it back to Mozambique we will be sure to stay here again.

Fantastic location in a private-island-like setting, the beach villas are set in a perfect spot, overlooking the Indian Ocean and with guaranteed breathtaking sunset views. The food was excellent quality, with lots of variety in menus, great service from staff. The activities were all perfectly organised. Very child friendly, perfect for families looking to spend quality time together. Management always present making sure service run smoothly. The warm, personal and authentic welcoming made this a perfect stay.

The food was exceptional, with fresh seafood, Mozambican flavors, and beautifully presented meals every day. We loved the range of activities offered—from snorkeling and dolphin watching to horseback rides on the beach and indulgent spa treatments with ocean views. There was a perfect balance of adventure and relaxation. This resort isn’t just a destination—it’s an experience. This resort is amazing. We went for our honeymoon after spending a few days in Cape Town. The service was thorough and impeccable - all waiters were attentive to our every need, housekeeping left the room pristine, and the food was delicious. We went scuba diving and the guides were great. I had issues with my ear after the dive and the resort gave me some ear drop medication. They truly thought of everything. Oh also, it is breathtakingly beautiful.

We enjoyed snorkeling in crystal-clear waters, sunset boat rides, romantic horseback rides on the beach, and thrilling water sports. Every activity was perfectly coordinated, with professional staff and top-notch equipment.||The cuisine deserves a special mention. Each meal was a delicious surprise, full of flavor, freshness, and creativity. The resort manager, Christian, was always present, kind, and incredibly attentive. His leadership and commitment to excellence were evident in every aspect of our stay.||At the spa, we received world-class treatment. Helena was absolutely fantastic, her expertise and gentle care gave us one of the best spa experiences we’ve ever had. It was the perfect way to relax and recharge.||And of course, we want to highlight the incredible staff at the restaurant and across the resort. Each person contributed to our stay with a smile, special attention, or thoughtful gesture. Absolutely LOVED this property! We stayed here for 5 days in June (off-season), and the resort was not full so we had a lot of things to ourselves. There are two pools and two restaurants to enjoy. The staff are incredible, friendly, attentive and you really get to know them. The food was great and the bar menu has a lot of fun creative cocktails. They have a huge list of activities you can plan from snorkeling to horseback riding to add some adventure to your stay. The property is amazing, individual villas with private beach access and indoor/outdoor showers. The island was great because it’s not touristy and you still get to experience the natural beauty of the beach. Highly recommend this resort!

I highly recommend Anantara Bazaruto Island. We had an amazing stay. Everything was perfect from the moment we arrived till checkout. There are plenty of activities to do: snorkeling, diving, safari, sand boarding on the dunes, cooking class, horseback riding on the beach and much more! You will not get bored at all. The food was delicious and fresh.

My husband and I had our first stop of our honeymoon at Anantara Bazaruto. We were greeted with a welcome drink and singers/dancers upon arrival. I cannot say enough amazing things about this resort. The managers and staff were incredibly kind and attentive, the food was INCREDIBLE and so fresh, and the accommodations were clean, comfortable, and beautiful. I recommend their spa, which had beautiful views from the dunes and a talented staff, and a visit to the gift shop that had beautiful, artisanal handmade goods.||They went above and beyond to attend to our needs and make our trip great. Marcus, Claudio, and all of their staff should be commended!
