"Set on the Thu Bon River, this 93-room, colonial-style resort offers full immersion in Hoi An—you're less than a kilometer from its historic quarter, and a promenade takes you toward cafes, teahouses, and shrines within the UNESCO Heritage site. Rooms are crisp and contemporary—cool palates and clean lines—and offer a lovely counterpoint to the amazing lushness of the grounds and surrounding landscape. If you really want to take advantage of the relaxation possibilities, book a 90-minute Vietnamese four-hand massage (yes, that's two therapists to your one person) at the spa; because two really is better than one, right?"

Lovely hotel within walking distance of Hoi An heritage centre. Location excellent- right on the river. We had a garden view room with balcony which was very quiet and peaceful. Room spacious and well fitted out. Staff in hotel very helpful and friendly. Plenty of excellent restaurants locally. As some previous reviews had said we got laundry done at Mr Clean next to hotel. Excellent rates- all washed and ironed and same day service.

Greatly enjoyed our three night stay at the Anatara. We had a river view which was really lovely. While it is quite loud in the evening the boats are pretty much done by 9:30. It is lovely to watch the colorful boats going up and down the river. A short walk or taxi ride into old city makes it a perfect place to stay. The breakfast buffet is wonderful and the staff is exceptional. In a very short time they know what you want. We ate dinner, enjoyed happy hour and loved our morning breakfasts. The rooms are spacious and beds are very high quality!

From the friendly welcome (with the manager coming over and introducing herself as we checked in) until the moment we left we were never anything other than delighted with how we were looked after. Wonderful and well appointed rooms. Super breakfast with a number of very friendly staff taking great care of us. Nice bars (with a generous happy hour at the riverside one) and so convenient for wandering into the city. Even some very average weather didn't spoil the experience. We also used Val for tailor made items we ordered here having decided the quality and the service warranted the premium paid relative to other options in town of which there are simply so many. Only minor suggestion would be to think about the serenity in the spa. Our foot massage was accompanied by loud conversation between the reception and some US guests which rather detracted from the pleasure of the care we were receiving from the ladies attending to us.

I do wish to take away half a star but that’s not possible, so I’d rather round it up than down. Great place preserved in time in all the right ways. Lives the Bougainvillea covering the reception area. Loved the wide banisters and really comfortable short height steps. Loved the split level rooms and the outdoor seating! Little, minor problems like - the shower head has to be turned all the way to the wall to not to get the surrounding floor wet… and it still does. - the Art Space looks like it can use some (a lot) of attention and love… the place seemed to be abandoned the two times we dined there. - the morning breakfast team seemed exhausted by 9:30 & in a hurry. Probably for the reason that the area gets crowded very easily.

This is the hotel we return to whenever we're visiting Hoi An.|It remains up there with the best and perfectly situated for a gentle walk into town.|Great to catch up with Hanh at the spa too. Breakfast has improved on previous years with more choice for vegetarians. The pub at the front has become an art space restaurant that serves a good pizza amongst other things. The swimming pool has doubled in size with more loungers and a bar. The manager has also changed from Pieter to Ross who seems to be running a tight ship.

Really lovely hotel. Well located just before the hubub of the town, but easy to walk there. Staff helpful and attentive. Room superb. Good food (used Vietnamese restaurant at front of hotel on river side) . |Breakfast good… as expected…|Gave 4 out of 5 stars because hotel didn’t seem to have a lounge area for just having a pre-dinner drink… these areas were part of the restaurants… nice enough, but not like a bar lounge. |Lovely walk to do along the river from the hotel… must do the memories show on opposite island! Quite spectacular!

The service in this hotel is the best we have had in Vietnam. The tone was set the moment we entered and were greeted by our favorite bell man with is charming smile, Thanh - photo below. He would come running to help the moment we stepping in to the parking lot with anything in our hands. The rooms are great. Breakfast buffet amazing. Location is perfect along the river and close to good restaurants and shopping. We borrowed the bikes and rode to the beach for a day.

We found the Anantara a pleasant experience and a peaceful haven after the noise in town from over loud karaoke and bar speakers who seem to compete across the river!|The room was very large and on two levels. It was traditionally decorated but modern with all facilities you’d expect. Very reasonable laundry prices too which we used (two weeks in to our trip!).|Breakfast was good - not short of anything and all the staff were lovely and kind.|Would recommend and would stay again.
