We came a long way from germany, especially to see the beautiful Mauritius and its culture. ||The Anantara Iko on Mauritius might be the best hotel we have ever been to. And I’m not exaggerating. |The hotel complex looks really beautiful, clean, well maintained and modern. |Every place/room in this resort is “picture perfect”, exactly like in the advertisement pictures, if not even more beautiful. The Location of the hotel is 10min from the airport, which is convenient. But still, the hotel complex is a little bit secluded, and the taxis are expensive. |Nevertheless, Anantara offers various activities, including a boat trip, workouts, tastings and lots more, which you can book on their own App. (However, the activities would benefit from more organization)||The rooms are spacious, luxurious and comfortable. They offer great smelling hand lotion, body wash, conditioner and shampoo, as well as various hygiene supplies. |The cleaning service is very nice, quick but still spotless!||The Staff in the hotel is soooo sooo sooo friendly, welcoming, hardworking (!!!) and cool. |We felt very safe among them, because they are always there for help. Each staff member brings their own unique personality, which gives this place a warm, homey feel and a real sense of soul.||And, We want to express a special thanks to Oceanne, you welcomed us with kindness and charm, we felt home the very first second. Dilan, thank you for being so generous, kind and caring! We appreciate your hard work and amazing conversations. Teesha & Trisha, sich sweet, kind and diligent young ladies! You both brightened our dining and breakfast experience. Aveesh, incredibly hardworking, positive and passionate about his work. We loved sharing conversations with you and your thoughtful help in every way. Wishing you success in achieving all your dreams and hopes. thank you! And lastly, senior supervisor of housekeeping,, sunny, always on high alert and energetic, he maintained impeccable standards with a radiant smile and charming warmth. Your attentiveness and care made us feel truly respected and valued throughout our stay. Thank you!!||I could go on at length about how exceptional this team is, but I kept it brief…||You all made our trip memorable with your help and support!! |We are definitely coming back!||Greetings, |Natalie and Lorene

My family and I (7 of us) were there for 7 days so our experience wasn't based on 1 or 2 day incidents however on how we were treated throughout our stay by the staff of Anantara. While there were amazing things like the property itself, the rooms and overall location of the resort, what truly made our experience sour was the staff. The friendliness of the staff was poor- some of them were outright rude, mean and would make you feel like you are at fault even when they mess up your food orders. Yes, it happened to us where a server took our order and brought the item wrong and when asked to change it, we were made to feel wrong (and mind you, this was our complimentary lunch). We were made to wait AT LEAST 10-15 minutes to even get water on the table, let alone anything else. ||Then, on our last day, we by mistake broke a perfume bottle (our mistake 100%) however when we called room service to have someone clear up the glass scattered all over the floor, no one showed up for about 90 minutes. We called at least 7-8 times and asked them to send someone however they were least bothered. Then, we had to personally go to the reception and ask them to send someone and when we expressed our issue in a loud manner (BECAUSE WE WERE SITTING ON THE BED UNABLE TO MOVE FOR 90 MINUTES BECAUSE OF GLASS ON THE FLOOR) we were asked to behave "better." While I do not want to name names of the staff member, they behaved like they were the ones doing US a favour by coming from the reception to our room to see the situation AFTER 90 MINUTES of relentlessly calling on the phone and then going to the reception. ||Even after our repeated complaints to the senior staff in the resort, our service was not improved but actually got worse. ||The only place we received genuinely good service and friendly staff was at the pool bar and that's it.||Would I ever recommend it to anyone? HELL NO. ||We spend so much of our money and time to go there and spend 7 days expecting 5 star service and a good vacation however were further drained out of our energy by the incompetent hotel staff that significantly ruined our stay and overall experience in Mauritius.

Amazing hotel. Reception staffs (including Tunisian lady) can be more professional since this is a 5-star resort. We expect a delightful service for the expensive price that we pay. Overall, it was a really good stay because of people like Nicholas from Guest relations, Teesha & Jeet from F&B. These people are true gems of the resorts and anyone visiting the resort, should definitely meet them. They take your experiences to another level.

We had the pleasure of spending a luxurious and unforgettable 3-night family getaway at Anantara Iko Resort & Villas, and it was everything we hoped for—and more. We arrived around 4 PM and were warmly welcomed by Prashanth, whose hospitality and professionalism set the tone for the rest of our stay. To our delight, we were greeted right at our villa with refreshing welcome drinks and light snacks, a thoughtful gesture that instantly made us feel at home. While Prashanth handled the check-in formalities seamlessly, we began exploring the stunning property nestled along the beautiful Blue Bay coastline. He took the time to walk us through the key spots across the resort—from the pristine beach and serene pools to the array of restaurants offering different cuisines. Every detail of the property felt carefully curated, and the lush landscaping made our strolls a visual treat. *What we absolutely loved:* The villa: Spacious, private, and elegantly designed with its own pool and every amenity we could ask for. It truly felt like a luxurious extension of our home. The location: A beautifully maintained, tranquil property just 10 minutes from the airport. The beach experience: Clean, scenic, and peaceful. We especially enjoyed the picturesque beach swing—it became a family favorite for sunset photos. Exceptional service: Prashanth and Ashley were consistently responsive on the internal WhatsApp group and ensured every need was taken care of quickly and warmly. Dining: The buffet breakfast and dinner at Horizon had an excellent spread, with consistently delicious food. A special mention to Sea.Fire.Salt for their mouthwatering sushi, pineapple fried rice, and the fish fillet with lemon butter sauce—absolutely divine! Thoughtful touches: From the convenient buggy rides to the handy umbrellas in the villa, every small detail was designed with guest comfort in mind. The pools: Calm, scenic, and overlooking the ocean—a perfect spot to unwind. The staff: Always attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Their commitment to guest satisfaction was evident at every step. *Room for improvement:* During peak hours at the Horizon restaurant, it would help if staff were assigned to specific sections to ensure smoother service and more personalized attention. We occasionally experienced short waits, but nothing that took away from the overall experience. All in all, our stay at Anantara Iko was everything a family holiday should be—peaceful, pampering, and filled with beautiful memories. My children usually start missing home after three nights, but this time was different—they didn’t want to leave! That, to me, speaks volumes. A heartfelt thank you to Team SSR Holidays for recommending this gem. It truly exceeded our expectations. We would highly recommend the villas at Anantara Iko for anyone looking for an indulgent yet homely family escape.

The staff friendliness felt very limited towards local residents —unless you were a foreigner, at least that was our impression. This affected the overall warmth of the experience. The stay didn’t quite meet 5-star standards: the rooms were not very clean, and some equipment was faulty, suggesting the place is overdue for renovation. There was a lack of activities, and while the food was okay, the presence of many flies—possibly due to the beach proximity—was a downside. On the positive side, the scenic setting and landscaped surroundings were truly excellent. The gym, sports facilities, and pool areas were good, though the main pool’s filtration system seemed weak. Despite the shortcomings, the natural beauty and peaceful setting still made the stay enjoyable.
