Anantara Uluwatu Bali Resort (Uluwatu, Bali) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Uluwatu, on Bali’s southern Bukit Peninsula, is known for its surfing, its dramatic cliffs, and its relative seclusion. The last two, at least, are key to the Anantara Uluwatu Bali Resort experience — whether surfing figures into it is entirely up to you. The resort cascades down the terraced hill at the top of the cliff, meaning that most every spot has dramatic views of the Indian Ocean, including the suites and villas, some of which have private pools. Anantara’s spas are well known, and for good reason, and the hotel’s three restaurants serve Indonesian classics with a far-ranging cliffside view." - Tablet Hotels

We stayed here on our return home for 2 nights. We were made aware the pool would be out of action for refurbishment, but we still chose to stay.||On our arrival we were greeted by a large sounding bong and staff to take our bags . The class of service was so high and did not stop our whole stay, from insisting on driving us places to turn down service at night.||Check in was easy and we were given a lovely welcome drink and bracelet. We were also given vouchers for a 3 course dinner, afternoon tea and told we could use the nearby hotel pool.||Our room was impeccable, very plush with an outdoor jacuzzi. Seriously one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in.||Our 3 course dinner in the rooftop restaurant was outstanding. Some of the best food we’ve had. Same with the breakfast. ||This hotel is fantastic and I would so recommend. You get treated like royalty and made to feel so special. You won’t get better service than here.

We had a wonderful stay at Anantara Uluwatu Bali Resort. The staff were genuinely friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. We stayed in an Ocean Front Room, which was luxurious, beautifully furnished, and spotlessly clean, with an incredible view overlooking the cliffs and ocean.||Dinner was a highlight — a delicious 3-course meal featuring curry chicken, tuna steak, and fried cauliflower as the starter. Dessert was a perfect finish with ice cream and pandan cake.||Breakfast the next morning was equally amazing. Enjoying our meal with a panoramic view of the turquoise ocean and watching surfers in the distance made it unforgettable.||A fantastic stay overall — highly recommended.

I stayed at the Anantara Uluwatu Resort for one week during a recent holiday in Bali. It is a stunning property with outstanding facilities which proved to be very welcome as the relentless local traffic can, on occasion, disinsentivise leaving the hotel. The large modern resort occupies an idyllic position on a clifftop overlooking the Indian Ocean. The facilities include a large communal swimming pool which was temporarily off-limits to guests during my stay in order to enable emergency maintenance work. This did not prove to be a major problem as the management had facilitated alternative arrangements for guests by making available the pool in one of the three-bedroom villas. Guests were also provided with a complimentary buffet service and selected drinks in the adjacent villa. In the event, our accommodation came with its own pool. There is, in addition, a stunning spa in which my partner and I underwent rejuvenating massages administered by the delightful and very capable Sri and Agustini. Guests take their breakfasts or dinners in the beautiful main restaurant, with spectacular views of the ocean, on the sixth floor. The breakfasts are particularly memorable owing to the vast array of foods intended to cater to the culinary tastes of the wide diversity of ethnicities of the guests. Also on that floor is a Japanese restaurant. The luxurious rooms (referred to as suites) are decadently spacious, designed and maintained to the highest standards and kept scrupulously clean. In our case, there was a balcony overlooking the ocean which comprised a lounging area, a hot tub and a swimming pool. But the jewel in the crown of this property is its staff. Without exception, every member of staff with whom we came into contact was helpful, efficient, enthusiastic, courteous, charming and professional; the reception staff was particularly accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone and they made whatever services that they provided appear to have been a pleasure, rather than a duty. If I have one complaint it relates to the beautiful beach below the hotel which is accessed principally by a multi-level staircase. For most guests, negotiating the staircase is not too much of an effort, but for those who are elderly or frail it can be challenging, while for those who are disabled it is downright impossible. Surely, for a hotel of this calibre it would be neither unreasonable nor inappropriate to install an elevator or a funicular in order to enable as many guests as possible to enjoy the pleasures of bathing in the sea. Notwithstanding this small matter, the Anantara Uluwatu Resort is a truly outstanding venue for a holiday in Bali. Luxury, of course, comes at a price, but this property represents value for money. Would I recommend staying here? Unhesitatingly. Would I return? In a heartbeat.

We recently stayed at Avantara in Uluwatu and it was first class. The food, service, and views were top notch! Everything was clean and our room was amazing. They made us feel special and made sure they addressed all our concerns. The only issue we had was the construction that was happening on the pool and another part of the property. The noise went later than had expected. But the property tried to help us in every way they could by moving our room to help limit the noise and construction traffic. We would certainly go back to this property as long as there are no construction projects going on.

We stayed at Anantara Uluwatu expecting a 5-star experience for USD 400 per night, but it turned into one of the most disappointing hotel stays. The main infinity pool is closed, the entire 5th floor is under renovation, and there’s constant drilling and hammering from 8 AM until night. None of this was disclosed on the website or before booking. We only received an email three days before arrival, when it’s too late to change plans or cancel (it’s non-refundable). When we asked about it, staff claimed it was mentioned online (it wasn’t) and said we’d been “informed.” That felt dishonest. The rooms are outdated, sheets had stains, and there’s a paint and construction smell throughout the property. Construction workers are visible all around the resort, not exactly the “peaceful cliffside retreat” we booked. Their “solution” to the pool closure was to close off a villa and let everyone share a tiny pool with seven sunbeds. Other solution was to use Radisson Blu pool next door, which is very inconvenient. Radisson Blu is half the price, why did I book Anantara then? For context, we’ve stayed at other 5-star resorts in Bali for significantly lower price, and the difference in cleanliness, service, and overall experience was huge. Anantara Uluwatu feels overpriced, outdated, and mismanaged. Until the renovations are truly done, avoid this hotel: you’ll get no pool, no peace, and no value for what you pay.

This would have been a five if there has not been renovation work on the pool so....absolutely stunning view from our room that in itself was impeccable with a yacuzzi on the balcony as well. Restaurant had smashing balinese food as well as a breakfast to kill for so I would absolutely recommend this hotel

The view is amazing from almost any corner of this property. Staff is attentive, massage therapist is well trained. The drawback is the condition of the room, property, breakfast and afternoon tea which made me doubt the price I paid. With this price ($400 during off peak season) I could get a property with a real 5 star condition in Bali. I guess it is the view that cost this much. You will enjoy it and appreciate the value for the price if your priority is unblocked Oceanview
