The service was lovely, the atmosphere very nice (I sat in the outdoor seating), but the food was disappointing. I ordered the leek and onion quiche. The Hebrew menu says it is with home made “crème royale” and “mozzarella” (while the English menu just says “home made cheese”). In any case, though the crust was very nice and the quiche was nicely served with some leaves and a “cashew yogurt” dressing that was OK, the filling in the quiche seemed to be mostly some gloppy stuff made of tapioca. If I knew it was tapioca and not cashew or some other “cheese” I would not have ordered it. Tapioca has no nutritional value and is high in carbohydrates, which I avoid strenuously and here I was eating something very high in carbs that did not even taste that good. The texture was starchy rather than cheesy, and I didn’t even sense that there was a lot of leek or onion. There were some blobs on top that I suppose were meant to be the mozzarella, but they were tasteless. I also ordered matcha tea. It was called “classic matcha” but with plant “milk” as a base. Sorry, classic matcha is with water, so I ordered made with water. It was served in a glass mug (rather than a proper matcha bowl) and clearly never saw a whisk. For 22 shekels, very disappointing. They really need a lesson in making matcha (as do many places these days that think they are being trendy in serving matcha).
