On a whim we booked this place last minute because of a swim meet in town. It was cheaper than other lower rated hotels, but the photos and reviews looked promising. We were SO happy with this choice! The entire property is well curated, tucked up from the road, and there is a lot of attention to detail. The check in process is contactless so you need to download an app for room access and you can walk straight to your room and enter. The decor on the outside, in the halls, and grounds is quirky and fun. The artwork is nautical and historical naval photos, and the rooms feel like you're staying at grandmas house. They're small but so intimate. There's small kitchen areas, a front room with books and games, toilet with shower and cute tiling, and a master bedroom area with a sink in what used to be the closet. The best part - at night, the ceiling had a painting of stars and galaxies on it!! Aaaahhh!!
There's complimentary coffees, hot cocoa, and tea, movies to borrow, books, and even a game area. The courtyard was so amazing. Lots of little nautical things, a sand box with toys, corn hole, fire pits tucked all around, and the most darling cabins surrounding. The pits are timed and you can control them. Perfect for your complimentary s'mores kits!
There's an amenities room with laundry and even sand toys for the kids.
There's a galley area with an honor system and a really yummy (but pricey though) pizza joint with a bar in it. We almost got a bottle of wine to go back to the room but we were too tired.
The croquet golf was such a fun touch and the fire pit at the back was really neat. Extremely dog and kid friendly.
You can use your own streaming services from the Roku in the rooms so you can watch shows (the TVs reset when you leave). The rooms don't have a ton of room for luggage, so plan accordingly. The heaters in the room are small but mighty, and the bed was really comfy.
We will definitely book again!
