Not fancy, but lots of amenities, large rooms with kitchenets, very clean, affordable and nice staff. Walk the downtown and see the sights. Perfect for a day or two crash after a long travel to see Anchorage before going to Denali or a fishing vacation.

Great price. Very clean, spacious rooms. The continental breakfast is disappointing. The parking is less than convenient. The kitchen in the suite is fantastic for a family.

The Anchorage Grand Hotel was a great place full of history and very large clean rooms. The access to the Train station was great for an early morning departure. It also is in a vibrant neighbor of restaurants, shops and activities which made it a great place to stay not having a vehicle.

While the suite I was in was very comfortable, I completely forgot about the train tracks right behind the hotel. The People Mover is a great way to get throughout Anchorage for only $5 for unlimited rides a day. Since I was in a suite, I did benefit from a microwave, fridge and dishes I could use. I would highly recommend staying here if you will be there for an extended period of time and want to cook in your room.

Our room was fantastic. Being self contained was exactly what we needed to be able to eat healthier. Loved the layout and comfortable. But the noise from trains. Unbelievable. I have never heard horns so loud and continually blasted repeatedly and for so long. It's an unfortunate downer for such good accomodation. Location let's it down. On another positive though, the staff and service was very good.

My father and I traveled from San Diego to celebrate for my birthday and we stayed in a cute, well equipped with amenities kitchenette hotel. My father really liked the “homie” feel of it. It is very conveniently located to all spots in downtown. And more significantly a 3min walk from the railroad depot which is what we wanted to be close to as we needed to be there at 5am. Also, You will hear the first train at 645am. FYI. We did not have a problem with that. Everything is walkable honestly and I personally always prefer to stay in a comfortable kitchenette over a hotel Hilton. The building is old, yes, but cozy overall. My dad and I enjoyed our stay and would probably stay here again if we decide to return!

We stayed in a suite which had a pull out bed and a regular bed, both quite nice and spacious. All appliances worked although the kitchen was lacking pots and pans for the stove. Biggest complaint was how warm the room got even after turning the thermostat all the way down. Thankfully the windows opened still so we were able to regulate it that way in the winter. Overall great customer service and rooms! Would still definitely recommend.

The hotel was clean but lacked modern amenities like air conditioning and the wifi must have been down while we were there. Pretty dated but well maintained. Like other reviewers mentioned, the windows do open but nearby trains, planes and automobiles make for a restless sleep if you are a light sleeper.
