Sun Temple built by King Lalitaditya in 8th century CE. It is an excellent example of Hindu Kashmiri Architecture, which was destroyed in 13th century by Islamic invaders.

It was desecrated in 13th century by Sikander Mir, then faced many earthquake yet stand tall even today though in ruins to remind you of the skills we had in those days. No ticket needed as of now, do visit to witness your history. It's in Anant Nag off the highway a little.

Martand sun temple is one of the antient temple here in kashmir. it is very beautifully structured. what to beauty still existing in India the concept and historty is well carved and depicted there. people loving history must visit this place. it was one of the archeological sites where artifacts were taken for study. The entry is free. it is easily accessible to reach. we met the security guard there he was very friendly and explained us the histrory and importance of this place. overall It is a must visit place to visit

Beautiful and peaceful place. This place really shows how creative our architecture was in old times. Ruins still stand tall and gives glimpses of past.

Went on a weekday and there was absolutely zero tourist there except for us of course and very few locals who live around there .. there is no admission fee and it’s free for all and it’s very well maintained too . The temple ruins in itself is so majestic which is best experienced in person. A must visit if one is interested in historical sites etc .
