The drive up to Ancient Thera is quite challenging, with many sharp bends and stretches too narrow for two cars to pass safely — definitely not for nervous drivers. There’s also a lack of clear signage, which caused us to stop prematurely at the “house” area instead of reaching the main site.
Echoing other reviews, the €10 entrance fee feels steep given the limited amenities — no shade, no restrooms, and very few informational signs, which makes it hard to appreciate what you’re seeing. The ruins could be more engaging with better explanations and facilities.
That said, the panoramic views from the top are stunning, especially in fine weather
