Ancoats Coffee has quickly become one of my favorite spots, especially because it’s conveniently located near where I lived. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, making it perfect for both work or a casual catch-up with friends. I’ve tried a few of their drinks, and I’m always impressed by how great the coffee is. The service is efficient, and the staff is always friendly, adding to the positive experience. I also love the variety of items on the menu. It’s definitely a place I’ll keep coming back to! Whether you’re looking for a quiet spot to get some work done or just a place to relax, this café ticks all the boxes.

Google
Ancoats Coffee Co has an atmospheric beauty that I couldn’t imagine you’d get anywhere else in Manchester. A huge plus is that it’s a coffee house that sells good coffee ☕️ you won’t believe how many places in Manchester that sells terrible drinks. They have clean toilet facilities and a seating area outside. The arch’s inside are beautiful and I overall thinks it’s lovely. Recommend grabbing an iced coffee and taking a walk to the marina.

Lovely cafe to sit and work or for a takeaway drink and walk along the canal. Staff was very kind, and there was plenty of seating if needed. The area was calm and quiet as I came by midday on a weekday.

Hands down the best coffee in the city and outstanding service. They really know what they are doing.

Oh how grateful I am that my friend introduced me to this gem of a café! Not completely hidden, nor too noticeable, it is a perfect place to get your work done or relax with a friend. For this visit, I opted for a masala chai with milk. The service is efficient and your items of choice are brought to your table. Staff are kind and accommodating to your every need. I enjoyed the atmosphere and will definitely be visiting more often, perhaps to also try some of their baked goods !

This is one of the coziest coffee shops in Manchester. Located in an old converted cotton mill, the place has a nice bit of history to it while serving really great coffee in Ancoats. It’s also where they roast the beans. The Manchester coffee scene is thriving and Ancoats Coffee Co is one of the best ones out there.

Good coffee and cozy spot to enjoy your cup of coffee or matcha

Google
Their card machine won't let you pay until you say "yes" or "no" to tipping them, of course designed to make you feel guilty for actively refusing. Sorry, I'm not giving my money to coffee shops that do this *unjustified social nudging*, no matter how good the coffee. And would it kill the person who serves to *smile*, rather than look miserable, like they don't want to be there (which is probably true).

Yelp
TL;DR - Great coffee shop away from some of the busier spots in Ancoats. You really need to know this place is here to find it, tucked away inside Royal Mill. Go in through the main entrance, past reception and the cafe is on the far right. In side it's dimly lit but cosy with lots of exposed wood. Great coffee, great cakes and a nice relaxed atmosphere. Every time we've been here it's always pleasantly busy but not overcrowded. There's plenty of seating inside at tables and long benches, or you can head into the "outside" seating area, which is actually indoors but under glass and so protected from the weather. They also roast their own coffee so you can pick up a bag to go.

Yelp
It was a little while since I went here .. but it was such a great experience that I still remember it now. The coffee shop is in an old mill building next to the canal and it is SO PRETTY. I went for when it opened so I was the first one in and I had a great chat with one of the staff about dragonball z as I was wearing a shirt of it. Inside it looked immaculate, very trendy and a place I would love to go to, time and time again. It was a large space too and they had their own merchandise in there which I will buy one day and a full cabinet of delicious looking treats .. all handmade and not the usual manufactured items. I went for a donut and a flat white and they were both amazing. As I was on a coffee tour, I took it all out and had it whilst sat next to the canal ... perfect view for a perfect coffee. I couldn't recommend this place more and I count the days until I can return.

Yelp
Crikey what a spot this is! Spent a good chunk of my morning here without even planning to. Set in the the old Royal Mill, so easily missable unless you've planned to head there in advance. Luckily for me I have this really handy app that I use everyday to plot my next adventure, said app directed me to a coffee shop in Ancoats that I had never visited before and one that was rated 5 stars by some fellow users of said app. Basically, I needed a coffee, pulled out Yelp, found Ancoats Coffee Co, mapped out directions and headed there. The interior is fantastic and it has a really nice layout. It wasn't too busy when I got there which gave me full range of seating, comfortable enough to sit for a while and work but not over cosy so that I'd get sleepy (happens a lot to me). The barista on top was absolutely top drawer and for both my drinks I went on his recommendations. First off was the AeroPress coffee - so so smooth and easy to drink, but boy was it strong! Next up he recommended flipping the script and opting for an espresso and piccolo (my favourite) but with the same coffee bean as the AeroPress one to taste the different end of the spectrum - as you can tell this guy was bloody good at what he does! All in all a simply brilliant morning spent in my new favourite coffee spot!

Yelp
One for the coffee connoisseur! these guys really care about the beans they are serving - so much so that you might have to be patient for your coffee to arrive! Set inside an old mill and office building, the decor is as you'd expect for that style. I thought it was quite dark, we came here to work but I think this is more a coffee shop to go to if you want to sit back and relax with a good book. The reason I say this is there's a severe lack of plugs. My laptop ran out of juice and I hunted round for a power point to no avail. The seating wasn't the most comfortable either. I suppose this place is trying and succeeding to be really great at coffee, so the seating arrangements and working environment are secondary. Sure, you can't win 'em all. The smell of roasting coffee beans is incredible - I like the rustic vibe of the place. Behind where we were sitting they were busy pouring beans from sacks - it felt like we were at the heart of it. In summary - If you're a coffee fan make sure you pay this place a visit. If you want a practical place to sit down for a few hours and work then head somewhere else!

Yelp
Really pleased I made the 5 minute effort to walk slightly further out of the NQ and hit this place, just right next door to the old central retail park which is earmarked (with good reason) to be knocked down soon. Set in a lovely old mill, they refine and pack their own coffee here (supplying loads of places around town) whilst also having a quality coffee shop onsite with loads of room to sit. The coffee is super powered - I had a few yesterday in between meetings and was flying for the rest of the day, they also do sweet treats and although I didn't try the lunch menu, it looked pretty impressive and nice and snacky. This place may just become a regular haunt - very cool.

Yelp
This has gotta be the best new coffee shop in town! I don't know where to start! Located in Ancoats, tucked away on the ground floor of Royal Mills, well worth the little walk to get there. Inside is clean, minimalist yet funky. I consider myself a coffee lover, but these guys live, breath and eat coffee, hence roast their own beans on site on a daily basis, which are shipped out wholesale across Manchester. For coffee with passion and superior taste, you have arrived!!! Ask what the items mean on the menu and you will understand what I mean. I asked what a split was? And although I received an explanation my face must have looked puzzled, so Manny (the amazing owner) asked me a few questions about my tastes and then said, 'OK we got it, leave it with me'... and indeed I did... Mmmmm Upon finishing the coffee and delicious cake, I asked Manny what the coffee was in the caraf type receptacle. He gave some interesting description of a filter type process for the coffee, served in a wine glass because people instinctively then swirl the liquid, smell, and sip, just this happens to be coffee and not wine... continuing his explanation he stated the different tones you get over the front and back of your tongue... Hmmmm this seems a great place for a yelp event with so much culture, understanding passion and love for his coffee... it is Valentines day after all...

Yelp
When they are roasting coffee on site, the smell hits you like a tidal-wave of "MMMmmmm"! With a whole range of single origin beans this really is a coffee lovers heaven. If you can't decide, or you're in a rush just go for the house blend, which I'm lead to believe changes slightly from week to week. There's all the normal drinks, like flat whites, but a few new ones on me that I'll have to go back and try. This morning we were tempted by the cakes (As always) but I eventually opted for a flat white with sourdough toast and marmalade. The coffee was the best I've had in a long time, with a smooth rich velvety taste, with not a hint of bitterness. The trick must be roasting their own beans on site! The furniture is very clever - it looks old and eclectic, but I think is actually all new, and cleverly distressed. There's also a covered courtyard, which makes you feel like your sitting outside even though your actually not. The glass roof over the courtyard is also an incredible piece of architecture undulating like a roller coaster of glass. I'd actually like to see it in the rain! The Coffee Co. is tucked away, but go seek it out - its only a couple of minutes walk from the Northern Quarter, so stretch your legs, walk up by the side of the canal and find coffee lovers heaven!

Yelp
A 5 minute stroll from the city centre, this roastery- come-coffee shop is everything it promises. Excellent house roasted coffee that you can see being roasted in front of your very eyes. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Not only welcoming but also gave us a behind the scenes tour after spotting us peering in the window. Industrial interior that is sympathetic and enhancing to the beautiful character building. Free WiFi and local art on the walls that is also available to buy. I've never eaten anything but a raspberry and white chocolate brownie... but that was delicious! A great place to come and relax. Nothing too pretentious and plenty of space to work if needed. A very chilled atmosphere that's easy to lose a few hours in. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Very cool. Great find in Ancoats!!! Tucked inside Royal Mills. A quiet sanctuary for a coffee and a think. Highly recommended; you get to see inside a very cool, historical, Victorian building (amazing renovation, with vaulted brick ceilings, stone floors - a real must see) AND get a seriously big variety of coffee, from the guys who roast coffee themselves on site, these guys are true coffee craftsmen.

Great place to visit! Very good quality coffee, delicious snacks and a stylish location. We were totally astonished and excited to find this place in Ancoats!
