This is a pleasant relatively easy hike along a paved road through the lush tropical coastal landscape of Ancon Hill leading to the summit that affords panoramic views of Panama City. The trail is clearly marked with signage. There are portable toilet facilities available along the way. Apparently, the hill has been an inspiration to renowned Panamanian poets /artists and there is a historical monument to commemorate this. The hike itself is not difficult and is primarily in shaded areas. One has the option to take a set of steep stairs to the top at the last part of the trail or to continue with the paved road to the top. Visitors to the hill are required to sign a guest book at the entrance but there is no entrance fee. This Ancon Hill summit is definitely worth a visit when visiting Panama City.

I'm sure it's an easy hike for some, but even with my asthma I made it up. Great hike / walk, beautiful rainforest all the way up. We heard tocan, but didn't see. We did see agouti! Very cute

The most memorable and greatest experience I have had in Panama. The view up here is breathtaking and so worth the one hour hike. It is truly spectacular.

This is an awesome walk. We got to the top and saw small monkeys. We were disappointed we couldn’t find a Sloth, then we did. He was awesome. You have to be patient and keep looking. They look like a termite ball up in the trees. We missed the Toucan’s but overall it was worth the hike. This was our last full day and the Sloth made the trip. This is a must do.

Nice and easy hiking trail. Close to downtown. Overlook Panama city and the canal. There are plenty of platforms and benches to rest. Wonderful experience!

One of the most memorable experience during my trip to Panama. Woke up early and hiked up the hill, arrived right before sunrise. I think it was about a 30 min walk. Ran into some Americans who were doing some missionary work. Once summiting the hill you are able to see the entire city from a panoramic perspective.

A fairly easy hike up. We came here in the morning so it was not that got yet. The best place to get a good look at the Canal with a nice pair of binoculars or zoom camera. The photos we took of the canal are from our zoom camera.
If you're a patient, you will also see some Toucans!
