I purposely hunted down this place to look at inks and fountain pens. When I tried to ask (in Japanese) which nib was placed on the sample pens, an older assistant kept pushing me away from the samples towards the custom pen making, and kept telling me to do that. I was appalled. She was extremely rude to me and kept physically pushing me towards one end of the store (custom made pens) when I wanted to look at inks. I am really disappointed because I love Sailor inks and Ancora was a highly anticipated stop for me. After this very unpleasant experience I was hesitant to speak to people at other shops as I became quite afraid of what I would experience. I won't be back as I would rather go to kingdom note or Tokyu hands to get my fountain pen and ink needs met.

This is a great little store to visit if you're into fountain pens and inks. They carry many custom Sailor pens, along with a huge selection of inks. Ancora also offers custom fountain pens where you can choose various pieces of the pen (nib, barrel, etc.) and have it assembled by the staff. Great for a souvenir or gift.

What an adorable fountain pen and ink shop. I made 2 of my own fountain pens choosing from quite a few lovely colors. It was affordable and such a great memory even though choosing colors was hard (hence the TWO pens 😆). It was affordable and the staff was very nice, but quite hands off. If you need help, you will need to ask.

Amazing experience at Ginza I made my own design pen"mannanhitsu" here. It was very fun picking up many parts from the item bar. Let's Design a fountain pen by combining many parts. It is fun customizing things like the color of the cap, handle, and nib. If you are looking for some nice gift for you or friends, partner or family from ginza, this is it. After you choose all the parts, the staff will assemble the parts and complete the pen. Nice experience, nice pen and nice gift service at the end. one pen, two sets of inc included is just 4400yen.(tax included)

Lovely store with kind people! English friendly too! If you are a fountain pen lover, you can't miss making a custom pen. They have a selection of limited time parts so coming again on future trips is worth it. Come on a rainy day to be able to purchase a limited and exclusive line of pens and inks, too. I loved this little store so much!

Please go if you like fountain pens and beautiful customer service. You can create your own custom pen and they will make it for you! Top tip: if it rains there is a special ink they sell only on rainy days!!

Please note the custom ink mixing is by appointment only, and from what I can tell, you get appointments via phone. Regardless, you can make your own fountain pen, exactly how you want it, and pick out various inks you'd like to use. Staff was interested in why their store was so popular with foreigners like me!

Found a beautiful handcrafted glass pen here, it was the perfect gift! If you choose the gift set option, you can pick a pen stand and ink bottle. The ink bottle options were gorgeous too. I am so happy we found this place 🩷
