I recently escorted a group to Kenya, staying 3 nights at this AMAZING property. What a treat, from our arrival , we were treated so well , the staff were amazing. We each had our own tent steward take care of our morning tea or coffee or hot chocolate brought to us , and our luxury tents were spotlessly kept each day. I was blown away by how attentive they were. The butlers Abigail and Cate were fantastic and looked after my group so well. We were surprised with a stunning sunset dinner in the bush and a hot bush breakfast too.

Our stay at Kichwa Tembo with &Beyond was unforgettable for one reason — Joel, our butler. He deserves 5 stars, but the resort itself is more of a 3.5. He always checked in on us, ensured our morning coffee arrived right on time, and even went the extra mile to send us off with a perfectly packed lunch for our travels. His kindness, attention to detail, and genuine nature made all the difference in our experience. We had incredible wildlife sightings — elephants, cheetahs, lions, black rhinos, hyenas, wildebeest, and more — but unfortunately, our game driver was not five-star. He made my husband and I feel like an inconvenience, openly expressed that he didn’t enjoy full-day trips, and admitted he wasn’t fond of early mornings. He rarely provided commentary or education unless we specifically asked, and my husband actually made the majority of the wildlife sightings. Compared to our other drivers at true 5-star resorts in Kenya, this guiding experience was a disappointment. The shared game drive setup also did not feel luxury. It’s nearly impossible to schedule drives around all guests’ preferences, and the experience felt more like being packed in “sardine-style” to maximize numbers rather than offering the personalized, high-end service these trips promise — and that we paid for. While we are grateful for Joel and the moments he made special, I can’t say we would return to Kichwa Tembo except to see him. For a true luxury safari, I would recommend a property that prioritizes small, private game drives and delivers guiding on par with the rest of the experience.

We visited Kenya for our honeymoon in November 2024 and had an incredible experience. We stayed at Beyond Camp, which had a great pool area where you could even watch wildlife while swimming. Warthogs wandered through the camp, which was fun to see. The food was very good (and I’m quite a picky eater), and the bush breakfast was a real highlight. Our superior tent was comfortable and had everything we needed. Hearing lions roar in the mornings felt surreal, and we loved the coffee and cookies delivered before each game drive. The game drives were the best part of the trip. Our guide, Zack, was outstanding – knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about both the wildlife and the Masai culture. He even cooked us breakfast in the bush, which made for a day we’ll never forget. Thanks to him, we were able to see the Big Five, including the black rhino multiple times, and had an incredible close-up encounter with lions. Overall, it was a memorable trip and a perfect way to spend our honeymoon and my 30th. We’d highly recommend Beyond Camp and especially our guide, Zack. Would also recommend the hot air balloon ride.. again a once in a lifetime experience!

My wife and I spent our honeymoon at the Kichwa Tempo AndBeyond camp in Kenya. We cannot speak more highly of the experience. The first thing we need to mention is our safari guide Moses. He led our game drives which was morning and night for 4 days. He was polite, respectful, funny, and an expert in all things safari. He made the drives entertaining and educational at the same time. He made us feel safe while on game rides, ensuring we were comfortable and happy with the experience the entire time. The safari itself is a once in a lifetime experience. We saw almost every animal we wanted to, and the landscape/views are amazing. The drives themselves were executed and operated very well, on time every day and Moses allowed us to dictate which areas we spent time in to try to see specific animals. The resort property was beautiful and it sat right up against a grassy area where giraffes and elephants can come and eat. The restaurant was very nice, but a little buggy when eating outside. The bar and lounge area was a great way to relax after our ride. The pool looking out onto the landscape was a great way to refresh in between the morning and night rides. The food was very good at each meal. We especially enjoyed the coffee and breakfast cookie they left with us each morning before the game ride. Overall a really great experience and would highly recommend.

What can I say...the experience you get here is second to none. This place excels in every way.|This was our second trip to Kichwa Tembo...and it was even better than the first time. The camp is a prime location for game viewing and our guide, John, did an amazing job leading our family on drives for 4 days. We got a great variety of all of the land in the vicinity.|The camp and tents are amazing...it's been there a while now, but is kept up extremely well and tents/rooms felt fresh. |The food at Kichwa is just so good and every meal impresses. I also love the picnics they pack and occassional outdoor dinners they serve. To us, it's just "wow" every time. |The best part of the food for my family, however, was how Chef George went out of his way to accommodate one of us with celiac disease, a gluten allergy. George made sure from the moment we walked in that that every single thing she was served was gluten-free with no cross-contact. She didn't get sick at all for the 5 days we were there. This meant the world to us and I can't thank George and the entire staff enough.||If you're considering a safari...just stop looking at book with andBeyond. They do such a phenomenal job.

This was the first stop on our honeymoon in Africa — and what a way to start!|I absolutely recommend it. Everything was spectacular, from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. The staff played a huge role in making our experience unforgettable… truly every single one of them. Nicholas our guide was the best, also Edward, Joshua, George the chef…||The food was delicious, buffet — comforting and full of flavor. It really made us feel at home.||Bush breakfast with Nico… the best experience.||The tents were excellent — Every detail made us feel pampered and special.||I would return in a heartbeat. We visited during the rainy season (afternoon ride), but it was still a beautiful and very pleasant experience.

We had a wonderful experience at this camp. We stayed there with Tauck tours and they did everything they could to make us comfortable and happy. I would highly recommend staying at this camp. While there be sure to go on game drives. It is a convenient fly in fly out location.

An experience above the rest! We were blessed with an amazing guide, Peter who was knowledgeable, patient and kind. From our room attendant, Sopia and dining attendant, Ann, everything was perfect. The drives were amazing and beautiful and we saw the Big 5 within the first 24 hours of being there. Peter went above and beyond and made the drives fun, educational and thrilling. There is nothing like returning into camp after dark with a heard of elephants on the road home. You are greeted by beautiful, kind people who go above &beyond to make sure you feel like you are at home. The Kenyan people are beautiful and kind and warm. I was devastated to leave and became choked up when saying goodbye! The attention to detail and gestures from champagne in our room to flowers on the bed, to a decorated candle lit dinner has not been matched in our travels. We hope to return to Kichwa Tembo in the future.
