First time snowboarding in Switzerland. Very easily accessible town by train. Also it was bright and sunny… had to break out the sunglass dark lenses. Also much warmer than what we are used to- so had to remove some layers! Booking the ski passes online and collecting them from the machine was a breeze! However, we had to ask the rental shop where to locate the machine, which was in the basement as we were expecting an information counter of some sorts on the first level. Maps/ routes of the mountain were readily available at our hotel and ski rental shops. Very long runs, groomed runs were great. And one pass to go on a few mountains was nice and convenient, as well. Had a shock at the end when we went down to Disentis, and we thought it would be just one stop on the train back to andermatt, which wound up being a 4-stop 45 min trip! Which I guess shows how massive the mountains are! Ski pass also allows you a ride on the trains between mountains as well. Turnstiles were very high tech, new and sensitive which was great and a time- saver. Just some feedback on signage - it was hard to find the routes sometimes due to a lack of signs or small numbers on signs, and more often than not, would up going down the wrong runs. One in particular - route 42 where it leads to only a T bar ski lift (which i struggled immensely with) and no other way down. Also we were hoping for a small terrain park.. just some tables, rainbow rails or boxes would be great. Because both skiers and snowboarders young and old could use them! Ares ski was interesting, had thought there would be more music- not sure what I expecting… Food wise was very limited… mostly hotdogs… perhaps it is cultural, but would have been nice to have some variety in food and drinks… And again perhaps because it was our first time and again- it could be cultural… we paid CHF8 per sausage and had to bbq them ourselves. Could be part of the experience, but was just puzzled. Overall, a nice but different experience!

As a snowboarder I found this resort to be less fun, sometimes challenging as they do not groom the pistes properly, especially after snowfall. There were mostly skiers too, and they create moguls everywhere. For the very high priced passes, I expected the pistes to be safely groomed. It is a really beautiful resort though. Just more suitable for skiers.

Conveniently located 1 hour from Lugano immediately after the Gottard tunnel. Gemstock side if you want steep slopes mostly in the shadow and cold with ice and technical descents, the Gutsch side of you want a broader more relaxed ski area from Andermatt to Sedrun to Disentis. Quite varied and enjoyable. All in all Andermatt is not comparable to the more famous places in the Vallis or in the Italian Dolomites but still it offers a convenient spot for a nice day on the skis.

Very large and spread out mountains all from one pass. You could spend a day just getting from end to end. Very automated, although this typical in Switzerland 🇨🇭. Everything is VERY high tech, very comfortable, high speed, bubble lifts. The position in the Alps provides for better snow than other areas, make sure to check mountain conditions which are colder and more snowy than town. Amazing wide open skiing with lots of powder that can be skied for days before others get to it. Not much for beginners other than the catwalks, which are actually worth it just for the views and make for great "sledding" for hours. Adorable village but the "Vail" cranes are everywhere... thankfully across the highway but ski it before it becomes another crowded "Epic" pass holder destination.

Poor signalisation for parking, lack of staff assistance, and no ticket sales at the valley gondola Gütsch-Express. The disorganization added unnecessary stress, and the high ticket prices felt completely unjustified given the few slopes compared to other cheaper resorts. Significant improvements are needed in customer experience, convenience, and value for money. I cannot recommend this resort and would not return unless these issues are addressed. Disappointing overall.

I and my family used to love Andermatt. I live in Central Switzerland and for me it was my secret spot that was not overcrowded yet first class skiing experience with the possibility to reach from my place within 1 hour. But this year there are way too many people to the point that I felt unsafe on the blue slope. The price is also high for the chance to have a collision. I understand that business should run. However, pity, that Andermatt turns into another Wengen or Titlis.

Very nicely organised ski resort, nice food in the restaurants. I actually very much like how you can ski along the mountains, up to the peaks and reach new destinations which are also accessible with train.
