Google
Andersen Bakery in Hiroshima is one of the best bakeries we have visited in Japan. The storefront is beautiful and the breads, cakes, and other baked goods are perfectly displayed. They look amazing and they tasted delicious. I bought a few items to try their breads and cakes. They’re so yummy and look beautiful. All the employees helping us are so helpful and attentive. I've not only enjoyed their excellent baked goods. I also enjoyed their outstanding customer service.

Amazing selection of pastries, preserved foods, breads, flowers, chocolates and more! Very polite staff who made the process straight forward and enjoyable without speaking the same language as us. Food was amazing and the drinks were very good as well. Even had to come back the next day to grab some more pastries! 10/10 would definitely visit again and we recommend that anyone visiting Hiroshima should pay this place a visit!

wasn't a big fan... save ur calories the peanut eclair was the best - the filling was nutty and fragrant but the choux pastry was average apple cheesecake looked cute but it was too light and couldn't taste the cheese flavour chestnut cake was too seeet

This place was recommended by a friend as a must try in Hokkaido. There are many options to choose from and the staff is super friendly as well. There is a small space to sit and dine. You can also get your coffee from here. The place seems to be always crowded. So there's a small queue at the payment counters. But the queue moves quickly.

A great selection of takeout and dine-in food here where it’s good quality and tasty food ranging from cookies to specialty cheeses. They even had a bread sampling that day.

This has got to be one of the most architecturally significant and beautiful bakeries in Hiroshima. Not only did this building survive the atomic blast, it continues to be utilised today as a habitable space despite it's horrific past. The baked goods and cakes taste incredible and look amazing, some looking way too beautiful for consumption, particularly their current Easter offerings. It is a very crowded bakery though, so go early to avoid the peak hour crowds. Definitely a standout bakery in a very regal looking restored building.

Taking in the entire store takes a minute since there is a good selection. You can get either dessert bread or a nice crusty baguette. The pan au chocolate was flakey, but was a 2/5 in the flavor department. The melon pan was tasty, and the winner was the chocolate Italian bread. They have a very small area with some tea/brunch options. Overall, Great little place to explore.

My experience at Andersen Bakery and Cafe in Hiroshima left me thoroughly impressed. Their bread, cake, and pasta were all wonderfully flavorful, showcasing the freshness and quality of their ingredients. I appreciated that they listed the ingredients for each product, which allowed Muslim patron-ship to make informed choices, ensuring avoidance of pork meat, fat, and alcohol. The ambiance of the cafe was calm and inviting, providing a peaceful retreat from the most crowded street. The staff were polite and attentive, adding to the overall pleasant atmosphere. Additionally, the cleanliness of the establishment was impeccable, reflecting a commitment to hygiene and customer satisfaction. Andersen Bakery and Cafe in Hiroshima is definitely a must-visit for anyone seeking delicious baked goods in a serene and welcoming environment.

Yelp

Yelp
The food was good but not nearly enough. Honestly we were lucky enough to find a breakfast spot in the area as there are almost none. I really wanted some of their larger sandwiches but they were either already sold out or were only available for lunch. That being said, I settled on an iced green tea and a ham and cheese sando. The food was good but not nearly enough to get me going for a long day of exploring. The worst part is that it was overly expensive for what I got.

Yelp
I had my first Andersen pastry in the Bay Area shop a long time ago and learned that the original bakery started here in Hiroshima. I always wanted to visit the original location where they converted from a bank. They recently renovated inside but kept the charm outside from the original. I don't think I need to go on and on about their bakery as we all know how good they are. They have a cafe on the second floor. I was hoping to eat pastry upstairs after I purchase at the bakery on the first floor but I guess upstairs is only for restaurant guests. They have small dining sections within a bakery but not suitable for relaxing place.

Yelp
Who knew Japan would rock the pastry game too! I love all of these pastry shops where you walk through filling your tray with sweet and savory, fresh baked, flakey, fluffy treats! Andersen's is top notch for a variety of reasons. 1. Really nice variety of pastries and everything is nicely displayed. Many of the treats are behind glass (you can access them yourself). 2. Good coffee and a variety of coffee drinks to choose from. 3. Nice, clean, brightly lit and spacious dining area. 4. Possibly my favorite part, they have decent sized glasses and pitchers of water so you can serve yourself.

Yelp
We loved the Hiroshima pizza the most. Very convenient to pick up a quick bite to eat with coffee and head off for the day from the train station

Yelp
They have been offering superb bread and pastries since 1967 and you will be spoilt for choice. They are well known for authentic Danish pastries and I don't think you can possibly resist them. Another favourite of mine is Cinnamon Sugar Cake Doughnut. It's as authentic as you can get in the US, but the quality is far better - it melts in your mouth and is not greasy or too sweet. They also have wide varieties of artisan bread. My favourite is Ishigama Englih Bread and Hiroshima Sourdough Bread. Everything is baked on the premise throughout the day, so the freshness is guaranteed.

Yelp
Love this place!!! Baked goods, deli, drinks; a gourmet market to take stuff to go. Its cheaper than going to a restaurant.
