5 star service and wonderful accommodations. Greeted with a smile by Conner and accommodating when we decided to stay a second night and needed a room change. Everyone is very helpful and the bed is very comfortable. Perfect location and didn't need to move our car during our stay as everything was in walking distance. View of the rock was perfect and a water filter station was a plus. Also includes a coffee machine and hot water kettle to make hot tea. Easy to use elevator or stairs and never heard our neighbors so very quiet room. Definitely our new go-to hotel in Morro Bay!

Everything about our stay was wonderful. The beautiful room with such a gorgeous view. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was nice. It was spotless and so inviting. What a wonderful short stay we had. The staff was so kind. They made you feel very welcomed. We would definitely recommend this Anderson Inn and look forward to our next stay with them.

Google
Morro Bay is sort of a sleepy little harbor town, so I honestly didn't have high expectations for our accommodations - I was just happy to be near the water - but Anderson Inn surprised me in a very good way. It's in a spectacular location in the middle of the strip. The view from the Starboard room is absolutely breathtaking. The room was SPOTLESS, like we were the first ones to ever stay there (props to the housekeeping team). The bed was plush and comfy. The shower had great water pressure and was also very clean. The gas fireplace made it especially cozy on the chilly nights. And the staff was incredibly friendly - Connor, especially, made us feel so welcome! I absolutely LOVED our stay at Anderson Inn and highly recommend the starboard room.

Although the Anderson Inn only has a 2 star rating, don't let this put you off. We stayed for 2 nights in the Portside suite, which was very clean and supplied with everything you could need, including binoculars. We could have sat on our balcony all day, watching the sea lions, sea otters, and pelicans. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, especially Moira, who checked us in. We ate a delicious meal in the Galley restaurant, which guests can book in advance. We loved our stay here and were sad to leave. It was our 8th stop on our California road trip and our favourite. You won't be disappointed if you book to stay at the Anderson Inn.

I originally booked a room in another hotel and decided to splurge for my birthday and get the Captain's Suite here. Oh, I am so glad that I did. We went here one night for my birthday and it was beyond amazing. The check in process was smooth. When we arrived in our room there was a bottle of champagne on ice along with some Ferrero Rocher Chocolates. Yum. The room was so clean and smelled so clean. I opened the sliding glass door to be treated to a view of Morro Bay rock and a pier of Sea Lions. The suite has a jetted tub with colored lights in it. I've never seen a tub like this. There was a huge shower also with two shower heads. It was amazing too. There was a Nespresso coffee machine with pods and creamers in the drawer, along with some shortbread cookies. A refrigerator, a microwave and some binoculars so you can look at the Sea Lions and whatever else catches your eye. The bed was so comfortable, as were the pillows. It is very rare for me to be comfortable in a hotel bed, so this was wonderful.||That night I went to the Galley restaurant, which is attached the the hotel. Man that is another review I have to write. As I have never been treated so well at any restaurant in my life. They treated us like royalty and the food was amazing. We had scallops and clam chowder, but that's another review.|| The rooms were soundproof, but we cracked the sliding glass door and fell asleep to the sound of the Sea Lions and boy they made noise most of the night. The fireplace and the heater (which has a remote) kept the room nice and toasty. The bathroom had body wash, shampoo and conditioner and they were premium, not some cheap kind. There was a black makeup cloth, and a box with q tips. In another drawer were ear plugs and a mask to keep out the light while you are sleeping. They literally thought of everything. That night I had watched the whale watching boat go by a few times, so the next morning I was going to call and see if they had any openings.....No need, the boat was almost right in front of my window and I just spoke to the captain and made arrangements from the patio.||This was our first trip to Morro Bay and it will not be our last.

My wife and I visited for two nights and loved everything about Anderson Inn. Rooms were roomy, well equipped and very comfortable. The hotel is small but the rooms are quite large, all one floor up from ground level. Its location is right in the center of the Embarcadero, the street running along the waterfront. The restaurant that’s associated with the inn is the best in town and visitors to the inn can snag a reservation, even though the restaurant normally doesn’t take them. The hotel personnel are very nice; we even got a call on our way up to Morro Bay letting us know our room was ready early. If we go back to Morro Bay we would definitely stay here again.

Google
Superb accommodation directly on the Bay. Moira at the front desk is absolutely first-rate, and dedicated to making one’s stay as pleasant as possible. And extraordinarily well-maintained and clean. Stay here if you can. A bit more than other places in town, but easily worth it.

Google
I brought as I was fishing the next day on the Black Pearl. The Inn is located right on the water and backs up to the main drag. Our room was the Embarcadero which had two balconies - one facing the water and the other the Embarcadero. The room was clean and modern and provided all the amenities you need. I really liked the in room coffee machine. One of benefits is that by staying at the hotel, you can make reservations at the Galley restaurant which is attached. finally, the best part of staying at the Inn was Connor. From booking my reservation to checking us in, he is the best. He really made the trip a complete pleasure. He deserves a raise.

Yelp
Definitely recommend the Anderson Inn. Front desk receptionist was lovely, allowing us to check-in early and providing lots of helpful information about the area. Room was a nice size, king bed, clean, great view from the balcony, and located in a walkable spot from Morro Rock, downtown, and tons of food options. Amazing stay!

Yelp
My boyfriend brought me to Morro Bay for a surprise anniversary, Getaway, and I will say this is one of the best clean hotels we've stayed at. I have no complaints, and we will definitely be back. Waking up to these views from our room was just ahhhhh, so relaxing.

Yelp
Excellent place to stay right on the water with upfront views of Morro Rock. We randomly came across this place looking for a stop from our road trip from Carmel back home to Los Angeles. We stayed in the Portside Suite, and the decor/room was modern and nicely updated. Private balcony deck with a table and chairs, and even inside had 2 nice comfy chairs that looks out onto the balcony, with a fireplace in the room too. You can hear the seals outside your room, and see the sea otters swimming around. There's not a ton to do in Morro Bay but we did kayak across the way to the beach and walked around. The Galley and Dorn's have great food! Definitely will be back!

Yelp
Fantastic little inn right in the heart of Morro Bay. It was clean, cozy, and had a great view of the rock from our room. Upon our arrival, the staff member in the front office personally gave us a tour of our room to make sure we had everything we needed. Morro Bay is small and has no nightlife, but it is beautiful and the perfect peaceful getaway. We will definitely stay here again.
google avatar

Yelp
Keeping Anderson in the 5 star ratings! This place is great. The folks working there are super sweet and accommodating as well. The seals get a bit loud but we also woke up to sea otters in the water right in front of us. Very cool! Had the awesome and spacious port side rooms. Great fireplace and seating area and balcony. Morro Bay is a cool place with no nightlife. That's ok though. My wife approved and we will be back for sure.

Yelp
Beautiful Inn by the sea. Friendly helpful staff. Wonderful appointed rooms, pristine clean, comfortable beds. 2nd time we have stayed, we had the captains room this time with a fireplace and doors onto the sea, seals get a bit noisy but hey ho that's why we are here, with the doors closed cannot hear them!

Yelp
I found this place from searching on Yelp. It wasn't my first choice but I was glad the other place sold out. I ended up thoroughly pleased once we arrived. It was right on the water with a view of Morro Bay Rock. It was in the perfect part of town. We were able to walk everywhere for lunch and dinners. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very modern and clean. When I booked I told them it was a special occasion. When we arrived in the room they had champagne and chocolate waiting. I really enjoyed my time here. I would definitely stay here again!

Yelp
Our accomodations here exceeded all our expectations. Beautiful rooms, immaculate and cozy, definitely 5-star quality. Our family had the Shoreline and Driftwood suites and both had great balcony views of the bay and the famous Morro Rock. Staff was super nice and helpful, even walked us to our rooms. Great location on Embarcadero with souvenir & coffee shops and restaurants just steps away. Only here for just one night but will definitely return for a longer stay. Just a wonderful place to get away and relax.

Yelp
We had a lovely two night stay at the Anderson Inn. Well appointed rooms, friendly and helpful staff, and great location. Would definitely stay again.

Yelp
Really beautiful room and great service! But there were a couple of major issues. We had an upstairs room and it was really WARM inside, and they have no AC unfortunately. We opened the sliding door, but our room was directly above a very popular restaurant so things were quite noisy! There is also a sea lion dock in the bay right out in front of the hotel, so this also added to the noise problem. The noise was tolerable with the window closed, but the room got very stuffy and too warm. For the prices they are charging, they really should have AC in the rooms, it would help significantly. Also the hotel is right smack dab in the center of the most popular area, so it was really crowded and sometimes even trying to pull into the parking area was difficult given all the people. Next time we will stay at their sister hotel down the street, no restaurant on the property, no sea lion dock out front, and less crowds down there.

Syd N.

Yelp
Very nice hotel. The rooms are very clean and spacious and it is within walking distance to everything along the embarcadero. And the desk staff are super nice and helpful. There were only two things that I wasn't too thrilled about. 1) The parking - there are parking spots for each room but 2 are handicapped so you have to find parking on the street if the hotel is full. It's not a big problem though because everything closes by 8:00 so you can just go down and move your car into the parking lot. 2) the shower heads - the water pressure is really weak so it felt like I was in the shower forever trying to get the shampoo out of my hair.

Yelp
This place! Lovely, homey and feels like you are one with the marina. The rock, the fog horn, and the seals reminded us of a time when we owned our own boat. We loved every second of our stay from the boats sailing by, to the proximity of the hotel to the main part of this sweet town, to the AMAZING hotel staff. I had mentioned it was our 10 year anniversary and when we came back from walking around town there were chocolates and a bottle of sparkling wine with a kind note card congratulating us! Over the top kind, thoughtful amenities, super comfortable room and decorated very tastefully. We will be back to this gem of an inn!

Yelp
We lived in Morro Bay for several years back in the 1990s so I know the area. We called several places down on the Embarcadero and we decided to go with Andersen Inn, mainly because of the look and feel of the room and the close proximity to the rock. We were blown away by the room! It is really modern and contemporary but still has a comfortable feel to it. It was big and roomy and a beautiful hardwood floor. Two balconies! And it had a remote controlled heater/air conditioner that was up on the wall out of sight. The bathroom had a lot of counter space, and shower was tiled, modern and spotless, and it had glass/stainless steel dispensers for shampoo, conditioner and body wash. They even made accommodations for us to check in super early, like 11:30am. That was courtesy of Macy, the best hotel attendant of all time with such a warm smile and great attitude! Thanks Macy! The hotel is located right in the heart of the Embarcadero so it is active, but the sliding glass doors to the balcony are thick double paned and once you close the door, it is pure silence inside the room. Best of all, it it right next door to the place that has the best roast beef sandwich you will ever eat. Hof Brau. Andersen Inn is a little gem among the hustle and bustle of the Embarcadero and all of the other hotels. You will not be disappointed, and you will want to come back as soon as you can!

Yelp
Wonderful family-run inn with nice amenities and a million-dollar view. We had room 203 facing the Rock with a side picture window overlooking the harbor. The room has high ceilings, air conditioning, a ceiling fan and very comfortable furnishing. The best way to spend a late afternoon would be to get take-out from Giovanni's (one block to the left) and a bottle of Chardonnay or port from Chateau Margene (one block to the right) to read or watch sunset from the balcony.

Yelp
This was the most wonderful hotel experience we have ever had. There are only 8 rooms. We have stayed in high quality hotels many times, but we loved this one the most. The room was amazing, it had everything we needed, even things we hadn't thought of. The room was cozy, immaculate, romantic, lovely furnishings, comfortable bed, a place we wanted to stay and not leave. It was an anniversary celebration for us and there was bubbly wine and chocolates in the room. The view of the bay and Morro Rock from the balcony was fabulous. The Galley Restaurant was right next door and has excellent food. We also ate at Dorin's Restaurant a short walk from the hotel. We also had free parking. We can't wait to come back. The front desk staff were friendly, helpful and efficient.

Yelp
We enjoyed our single night here. The room was superb. My wife was very pleased and the view of the Rock is so cool. Each room has their own balcony and a great view of Morro Rock. The front desk called when our room was ready (at like 2pm). But we were a couple hours away doing touristy stuff. Just the thoughtfulness to call and let you know if such a nice touch. The hotel is small, as are most businesses on the ocean front. But attaches is The Galley, which Cindy, got us a reservation at with zero effort and frustration. They too, CALLED ME, when our table was ready. So cool. The food was great and the atmosphere is what you think of for ocean-side dining. Parking couldn't have been easier and the location is right in the middle of all the coastline shops and attractions. We were granted a late check-out and left our car parked on property while we perused the shops in the afternoon. Just an outstanding little gem! Cannot recommend enough.

Yelp
Very spacious room and clean. We were very comfortable here. The desk staff is very accommodating. I highly recommended this small motel right on the water.

Yelp
The service is incredible! This is a charmingly small inn with phenomenal customer service. We purchased a gift certificate for a Premium room. The cost was approximately $420 with tax. To accomplish this we worked with Mollie at Anderson Inn. This isn't some big chain, this is a family run operation. So you work directly with the owner. Mollie was so helpful and friendly. She made everything happen quickly and was just a nice person. We also spoke with Jeff, who is fantastic too. What a wonderful team. Big thank you to the Anderson Inn for their kindness.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is a jewel with a great location, wonderful and helpful staff, and a gorgeous room which was decorated so tastefully.

Yelp
We LOVE this special little gem on the embarcadero! Super clean and charmingly updated with great views and excellent customer service. It is so conveniently located with everything you need within walking distance. We stayed at a VRBO on our last visit to Morro Bay and were so regretful! Anderson Inn will always be our go to! It is small and quaint and the front desk folks always make time to visit and give great area tips.

Janice C.

Yelp
Enjoyed a restful night in a tastefully appointed guest room. Photos are accurate to the remodeled decor, everything you need, even a microwave is in the room! Wonderful bed and large shower with body jets. Clean and welcoming! Our room had 2 patios with seating and dining surfaces. It was my husbands 70th birthday so they left candy, a celebration bottle and towel decor. Great location. Wonderful, prompt service, when needed. Highly recommend eating at Galley Seafood Restaurant in front, downstairs. Delicious food and stunning views! This will be our lodging choice in Morro Bay going forward. Another favorite place to dine in the area is Taco Temple! Relax in Morro Bay!

Yelp
This is a very small boutique hotel with only 8 rooms. We stayed in the Portview room. The room is huge. The view is fantastic. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We appreciated the towel that was formed into a Christmas tree on the bed. It was complete with colorful led lights. The room was spotless. It was well worth the premium for the bay view and larger size.
google avatar

Yelp
Our second stay was nothing like the first. I believe there are about 8 rooms and only six parking spots and no location for unloading luggage. It took about 20 minutes to get lucky and get a spot. The driftwood room has a closely shared balcony with another room and doesn't really feel private. The heater is grossly underpowered and poorly located, it took three hours to warm the room to 70 for bedtime. The showers will set the fire alarm off on these smaller rooms as well. The sound proofing is not comparable to the more expensive rooms either, my daughter heard a beeping all night and had trouble falling asleep. After the fire alarm, freezing for hours and constant beeping all night, I went downstairs to ask if we could add a fee to our room that could be provided to the maid, which is possible all major hotel chains and the woman at the desk acted like she had no idea what I was talking about. I am not from Mars, this is a reasonable request, especially in towns without atms nearby. This stay was the last time we will stay in a room without it's own fireplace. Also, while we were getting the car packed up to leave, an employee from the restaurant put a big dumpster and a bunch of rubber mats right behind my car and just stared while I was trying to maneuver between it all. I had to move the dumpster but he still just sat there so I had to drive over the mats.

Yelp
First off the Anderson's are in amazing family everything that has been said is spot on their hospitality is great! The only reason for the four stars in all honesty is that we would've preferred a king size bed instead of the queen and they're sitting chairs may need a little update. Otherwise if we were to be back in the area would happily stay there
google avatar

Tony N.

Yelp
Words can't do this justice. Molly and Jeff Anderson are just beyond compare for their hospitality. The location of the Inn is bar none for Morro Bay, otters and seals play within normal eye site. And if you can spurge for a room over the water, you will never want to do anything less, sitting on the balcony watching otters feast on the local bivalve molluscs is a special treat, which is a daily occurrence and there are binoculars should they be a bit off in the distance. Jeff and Molly!! Can't wait to see you lovely folks again and enjoy your property!!!
google avatar

Yelp
The ANDERSON HOTEL in Morrow Bay is by far the best place to stay in Morrow Bay and surrounding areas. My booking was professionally and most graciously scheduled by Jeff and my room on the water was heavenly. So comfortable. So clean. So spacious. Be sure to stop in THE GALLEY BAR AND GRILL which is their premiere restaurant downstairs. The seafood and wine are hard to beat. Highly recommended. The ANDERSON INN is for sure the go-to place in Morrow Bay is you want a place that feels so good, it feels like home. Thank You Jeff!

Yelp
Mollie and Jeff Anderson were the sweetest! They found out about our engagement and couldn't be more excited for us! True hospitality you can't find anymore these days! Amazing stay with the best view, and a perfect location!Cannot go wrong with this place! Thank you Anderson family for the best weekend!

Kim M.

Yelp
The room we stayed at was absolutely beautiful. Room 203. We've stayed in Morro Bay for years and I am so happy for the complete remodel of the rooms. First class accommodations! The only downside was the seals out on the dock directly in front of the inn. They were loud all day and night! You certainly couldn't leave a window open! Other than that a perfect experience!

Yelp
We go away every year for our anniversary. We have gone to Morro Bay a number of times but this time we chose The Anderson Inn and we could not have been happier, in fact, we were ready to move in!!! This quaint, 8-unit inn is run by Molly, Jeff and Roger Anderson, they are in their 60's/70's and took over the inn after their mom and dad stepped down. We met all three of the siblings and they were all so friendly and accommodating which made our stay that much more personable. Each time we saw one of them on our way out or coming back to our room, they said hi to us using our names, even though Molly and Jeff had yet to meet us - an we were not the only ones staying there at the time. The inn is all upper story rooms, with an elevator and several sets of stairs and below is a jewelry/gem shop and The Galley Restaurant which is hugely popular! There are three large rooms basically right over the water, the only way to describe it is that it felt like we were staying on a cruise ship with a balcony room overlooking the water, it was spectacular and we loved just staying in our room without the "need" to get out and explore, although we did that too! The inn is situated smack dab in the middle of the Embarcadero so it's within walking distance of all of the shops and restaurants and depending how much you enjoy walking, you can also walk to the Rock! The other five rooms are on the side of the hotel but all have balconies and the bay and the rock can be seen from these rooms as well. We will definitely be back, pricey, yes, but for those really special occasions, so worth the money! Thank you Anderson siblings for making our stay so special! I tried uploading a few pics but I was having trouble doing so.

Houri M.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I were just passing thru and drove passed this inn and randomly decided to spend the night here without even knowing anything about this place or looking at photos....SO GLAD WE DID!! The employees are so nice, the location is incredible and the rooms are so well designed. The shower is amazing, the bed is comfortable and they even have binoculars and a wine opener in he room. They have thought of everything! Can't wait to come back!!

Yelp
This place is an absolute delight! Our room was amazing, the nicest that I've ever stayed in! My husband and I stayed here for a one-night getaway and we will definitely be returning! Mollie and Jeff were so kind and welcoming! Thank you, Mollie and Jeff, for your hospitality! I can't say enough good things about this little gem!

Yelp
Thank you so much to the Anderson Family Mr. Jeff and Mrs. Molly you both were just absolutely amazing to our crazy bunch we will definitely stay again and recommend your hotel to anyone looking for a good family owned hotel in morro bay

Yelp
It's too bad I can't give this place 6 stars because that would be my rating. I would base those 6 stars on how I was greeted when I first walked in, the quality of the service, the elegant rooms, and the cleanliness of the place. Keep in mind this facility is NON SMOKING and NO PETS ALLOWED which is probably why this place is immaculate. There are no resort fees, and you get free water and apples during your stay! :) When we arrived we were given a personal tour by Molly, who is one of the owners. She explained how the lights, A/C and shower nozzles worked. The room also comes with Wifi, a small fridge, coffee maker, iron (w/board) and blow dryer for the ladies. The bathroom in these rooms are amazing! The showers have 3 different shower heads. Each one strategically positioned to get different parts of your body. You can have 1 on at a time or have 2 of them going at the same time. If you have the opportunity to book a premium room (over the water), your added features is the ocean view, fireplace and jacuzzi tub. The jacuzzi tub has different jet settings along with a cool blue light to make the experience that more pleasurable. The 'Anderson Inn' is conveniently located next to downtown where there are great restaurants, shops, and kayak rentals. There is also a small aquarium near by, arcades and a couple of recreational parks. If you really feel like exploring the 'Morro Rock' is a few minutes away and :30 minutes North you can visit the great 'Hearst Castle.' Ask Molly and she will be happy to explain all the different places this part of California's coast, has to offer. NOTE to the owners: Thank you for making our visit to Morro Bay a memorable one. My family cannot stop talking about our great experience. Taking trips isn't always about the places you visit but about the people you meet while on these trips. You are great people and made a great investment. We hope to see you and the staff at 'Anderson Inn' soon.

Yelp
My husband booked this place for my birthday. We were dining at the next door The Galley restaurant, so he thought it would be nice to stay here at Anderson Inn, right on the bay. Let me tell you, this place totally made my birthday extra special. Molly greeted us with a big smile, and she was very friendly and personable. We could not get the 3 front rooms that window is facing the water front, but still had a great view of the Morro Bay and Morro Rock from our balcony. The room was very clean and plush, and decoration was very nice and comfortable. We really liked the binoculars in the room! We've stayed at other hotels and motels in Morro Bay before, but once we experience Anderson Inn, we probably won't be able to go back to any other place. This place really had a personality, cozy and comfortable. You'll wake up next morning well rested and with the beautiful view of Morro Bay.

Yelp
I can't say enough about this Inn. Molly one of the owners is one of the sweetest people I've met. Her brother Roger is just as friendly and has great stories about the area. The view is amazing and to sleep over the water and heat the sea otters eating all night....is priceless.

Yelp
Perfect geographical location matched with the friendliest, customer oriented owners we have seen. Park your car on site and have a pleasant walk to everything in town. Rooms are very clean and all amenities are provided. First time we have visited and were pleasantly surprised by the Inn and the service. We would recommend the Inn to all.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary for the first time and absolutely loved it! The owners are incredibly nice and made us feel so welcomed! The rooms are nice and in a great location being in walking distance to everything! Loved it here so much that we already booked a room to return again next year for our anniversary!

Yelp
What an absolute delight! Other reviews tell you all the details, but I have more. Are you stressed from work or life in general, and are you looking from a relaxing getaway where you are treated right and can truly relax, then this is your place. This is how it is done. On top of all that, the view is spectacular and you can watch otters eating and swimming right out your window

Yelp
We decided on a weekend getaway to Morro Bay, booked a room at the Anderson Inn. We could of not of been more pleased with how the Anderson's treated us during our stay. The family truly goes above and beyond to make you feel welcomed and your stay pleasurable. Our room, had two balconies, one overlooking Embarcadero , the other had a Bay view. The room was spacious, clean and welcoming. We parked the car and never moved it until we checked out. Everything is within walking distance, Morro Rock is a little over a mile away, and you have plenty of shops and restaurants to choose from on Embarcadero, plenty to see just walking along Embarcadero, Sea Lions, Otters, Pelicans . We enjoyed our room view so much that we decided to get take out and have dinner on the balcony while watching the sunset. We definitely want to make a return trip and do some other activities we did not have time for this time around and book our stay here again.

Yelp
Drop whatever you are doing right now and make a reservation at the Anderson Inn! Mere words cannot convey how wonderful this adorable little place is, but I'll make an attempt: Location: Perfect. The Anderson Inn is nestled dead center in Morro Bay's Embarcadero street, right by the water and between anywhere you'd want to go. During our weekend stay we walked to House of Juju, the Coffee Pot, Dutchman's Seafood House, and Suns and Buns Bakery as well as to The Siren! Accommodations: Excellent. Our room was expansive, our bed was cozy, and the bathroom was fabulous. I've rarely seen such a spacious, clean, and well-maintained hotel room in my life. Service: The best! The three siblings that own the Inn virtually adopted us during the weekend we stayed with them, making sure we had the best directions to anywhere we wanted to go, eagerly offering suggestions and ideas, and even making sure we took a bottle of water and an apple as we left the Inn. They make a regular practice of mailing things guests leave behind - we forgot one drawer full of clothes and received it at our home a couple of days later! We certainly will never forget our weekend at the Anderson Inn and plan to return!

Yelp
The rooms here were beautiful. High vaulted ceilings and pretty beach decor. Overall it was very quiet but the seagulls and seals did go all night.

This hotel is a hidden gem. I came across it a few years ago and decided to look it up. Needless to say back then it was out of my price range so out of sight, out of mind. However, I've been wanting to get away for a day and the bf caught on to that so he surprised me with a stay here. Can I just say what a cute and quaint inn this was. The scenery was amazing. We went during the week so there was not a lot of noise and foot traffic. Room was really clean and functional. We slept with the sliding door partially open and the sound of the waves was hypnotic. Only complaint I would say was the bed and pillows. I tossed and turned almost all night and just couldn't get comfortable. I'm tiny so I require a soft bed and this one to me was on the firmer side. Overall I would stay here again.

Yelp
This is a gem of a boutique hotel, situated right on the pier at Morro Bay. Great views from all the rooms, Jeff and Mollie were delightful hosts and owners. The place is kept up immaculately and very comfortable! If you're there however on a Friday or Saturday night, the karaoke in the bar next-door and be a little annoying so be sure to look for the earplugs provided to all guests. Note this is not at all a deterrent from staying here, I look forward to coming back for a multiple day stay. The seafood restaurant downstairs is fantastic, look for my review.

Yelp
My husband and I were greeted by Roger and had a nice chat with him upon our arrival. Everyone wants you to enjoy your time there and goes out of their way to make sure that happens. The inn was charming. I highly recommend staying there. Make sure that you book a room with a view of the bay. It was beautiful!

Yelp
We took a chance and drove up for the weekend , just wanted to stay one night. We were met with a warm welcome and a very friendly guy Behind the counter, he went out of his way to not only get us a room for a night stay , but made sure we liked our choice before we booked . My son had stayed there before and had a great experience also . The room were nice, clean , and well located. But the service was outstanding !!!!

Yelp
Life's best moments are often fleeting. But they leave memories to be cherished. For me, Anderson Inn is a place for a couple of those moments now gone, a couple of those memories to keep & hold. Years before I began Yelping, around when Anderson Inn opened, the girlfriend & I stayed here on our 1st trip together. While in the area, we went to Hearst Castle, we explored SLO, but mostly we enjoyed our room over the water of Morro Bay. It left an indelible impression. Over our years together & the course of our travels, we went many places, right here in California, all across the USA & overseas. We stayed many places. Anderson Inn was always the standard-bearer. It still is. Our 1st stay was room 203, the South corner room over the water. Recently, for NYE 2014, we stayed in room 201, the North corner room over the water. Both rooms were smart, clean, cozy, luxury comfort. & amenities? There's plenty. Stunning views, patio deck, binoculars for spotting seals & otters in the bay, fireplace, big whirlpool tub, multi-nozzled shower large enough to be like a car wash for humans, free Wi-Fi, free parking & a pair of sumptuously soft robes in the closet. This place is more than a superlative room & amenities, though. The Andersons are truly warm & welcoming people. For them, it's more than just providing good customer service. There's the genuine sense that they really want your stay here to be special & care-free. The kind of stay that makes memories to keep. That's what Anderson Inn has been for me. 2 stays that were like bookends. Wonderful moments, now lost in time. With only the memories, memories that I will hold dear.

Yelp
This little b&b is awesome. It is owner by a family. We have stayed here once and just recently called to make reservations. They remembered us. I love the personal treatment. They have rooms over the water on the bay. You can sit on the balconies and watch the sea otters and other sea life. So relaxing. When we originally stayed here we were passing by. The owner took us upstairs and let us check out the room with him before we rented the room for 3 nights. Can't wait to go back in September!!!!!!!!

Yelp
I absolutely have to give a glowing review to Anderson Inn, which completely exceeded my expectations. My husband and I both agree that staying here was the best part of our road trip from Malibu to SF. First off, the location could not have been better: On the water in front of the rock with sea lions and otters about, all in the comfort of your pj's and socks! This was an unforgettable sight at sunset with the reflection of the water (on the ride there I called to let them know we were running late and Molly, one of the owners, said to me "Oh good, you are going to make it in time for the view at sunset, you can't miss it", and she was soo right). Also, the location was convenient, super close to places to eat and get coffee. The rooms are NICE. Every detail was well-thought out and has a great flow. The fireplace was soothing and the bed was so comfortable. I don't believe I've slept as well as I did here in any other hotel or inn. The owners, Molly and Jeff, made us feel right at home and were extremely helpful in giving us tips for our travel. Molly made sure to give us cream for our morning coffee and made sure we were taken care of since we were arriving later in the evening, just like an old friend taking us in at the end of a long day! The binoculars to see the otters and sea lions was such a treat. My advice is to not arrive as late was we did so you can enjoy the room for longer. This isn't just a place to put your head down, it is an experience in itself. I will definitely recommend this place to all of my friends and family. Thank you, Anderson Inn!

Yelp
Excellent little inn on the water. Mollie and Rodger were very accommodating and very personable when greeting guests. We felt like family when we were greeted and throughout our stay every time we saw them. The rooms are spacious, well laid out, and clean. The rooms are laid out in a "T" fashion with 3 rooms directly over the waterfront and the remaining 5 perpendicular to the first 3. All rooms have views of the bay and the rock but the first 3 rooms have the best view (201, 202, & 203). The remaining rooms have nice views albeit from each balcony. When facing the Inn, the doors are on the left with balconies on the right (rooms situated over the carports). The rooms are a little pricier than what you would pay for a standard room from the corporate chains but worth the view. Just about everything on the Embarcadero is within walking distance so driving is not really needed. Definitely a quaint and cozy inn that's worth staying at in Morro Bay.
