Andhra Bhawan Canteen has always been a reliable spot for authentic, hearty South Indian meals, and my recent visit was extra special. I went there again to celebrate with my brother, who was about to leave for his very first foreign trip. It felt fitting to mark such an important milestone with food that tastes like home — comforting, flavorful, and deeply satisfying. The canteen is known for its no-frills, straightforward setup, and that simplicity is what makes it so endearing. The focus is entirely on the food, and it truly delivers. The Andhra thali is the highlight here — a generous spread of rice, dal, curries, vegetables, pickles, papad, and rasam, all served with unlimited refills. Each item is packed with bold flavors, especially the signature spice that Andhra cuisine is famous for. The gongura chutney and sambar stood out for me this time, reminding me once again why this canteen has such a loyal following. What makes the experience even more remarkable is the atmosphere. Though it is often crowded and buzzing with activity, there is a sense of community and comfort in sharing a meal here. For my brother and me, it turned into more than just lunch; it was a moment of togetherness before his big journey abroad. The canteen gave us that perfect balance of nostalgia and celebration. In terms of value, Andhra Bhawan Canteen is unbeatable. The food is authentic, served generously, and priced very reasonably, which makes it a favorite not just for people from Andhra but for anyone who appreciates good food. Overall, this place continues to hold a special place in my heart. If you’re looking for delicious, authentic Andhra meals in Delhi, this canteen is an absolute must-visit.

Recently we visited Andhra Bhawan Restaurant, which offers authentic Andhra cuisine — and it truly looked and tasted great! We ordered the South Indian Thali, and the taste was excellent. It included dal, rice, puri, sambar, rasam, and a variety of curries. The flavors were rich and fulfilling, giving you the experience of tasting the whole of Andhra in one thali. The staff were very polite and supportive. We asked for an extra papadam, and they gladly provided it without any additional charge — a really nice gesture. The meal cost around ₹200 per person, which is quite reasonable for the quality and experience. Highly recommended!

The food was such that it did not feel like I was eating in Delhi. It felt like I was eating food in the South. It is so tasty that if you want to eat then try the biryani here. It is very fast. The service here is so good that it is easy to digest and after eating the food, you will definitely eat the sweet paan. It is very tasty paan. I want to come here again. You too should come again. Super Up.

Recently had dinner at Andhra Bhavan Canteen and it was a fantastic experience. The canteen is conveniently located just a short walking distance from Mandi House Metro Station which makes it super easy to reach. The food was the real highlight - tried the mutton fry and prawns fry and both were bursting with authentic Andhra flavors. Perfectly spiced, cooked just right and full of that traditional taste you’d expect. It honestly felt like a treat for the taste buds. The staff were polite, welcoming and helpful making the whole dining experience smooth and enjoyable. The atmosphere was lively, full of energy yet comfortable enough to enjoy your meal without feeling rushed. I couldn’t try the veg thali this time but I’ve heard great things and will definitely go back for it on my next visit. Overall, this place is a gem for anyone who loves authentic Andhra cuisine. Highly recommended!

Authentic Andhra Food at Its Best! If you’re craving real South Indian flavors in Delhi, this place is perfect. The vegetarian thali is super tasty and unlimited—just like home-cooked food. Non-veg lovers should try their chicken or mutton fry—spicy and full of flavor! It’s clean, fast, and affordable. Gets crowded during lunch hours, but totally worth the wait.

Andhra Bhavan Canteen in Delhi is the quintessential Andhra dining experience you can have in the capital. I took off a star because I felt the hygiene inside could use some work. We visited on a Saturday evening, and ordered two Chicken Biryanis. The Biryanis cost(as of November 2025) 310 rupees per plate, and were served piping hot. There were two chicken pieces in the biryani and a whole lot of rice, more than enough for one person. The other popular option there seemed the thali, which had a ton of different kinds of dishes, and looked quite delicious. There is a decently big seating area inside. You order at the cashier’s counter, and then you give the receipt to one of the servers who then brings your food. The seating area feels like a communal setting where strangers share tables and talk to each other too. Overall, it was a pretty good dinner here, and I recommend visiting if you’re in the mood for Andhra cuisine. Parking is available nearby. We took an auto(tuk-tuk) from Connaught Place, and it took us 10-15 minutes to reach here.

Andhra/Telangana bhawan is situated on Jaswant singh Road, 10 minutes walk from India gate circle. Main entrance is at Jaswant singh Road. Main entrance is allowed to resident guests only (not for canteen visitors) The canteen entrance is from Ashok road (adjacent to circle). The quality of food is Ok (not verygood / excellent). Atmosphere, cleanliness and ambience is below average, but surprisingly, food seems to be overpriced. Point to be noted that Prices at Saravana bhawan and other South Indian / Andhra restaurants are on the lower side compared to the prices being charged here. Ambiance at canteen here doesn't gives feeling of eating at national capital state bhawan canteen, such bhawans were constructed as representative of states at Delhi capital while promoting state's culture, heritage and while selling food at subsided prices. Felt very disappointed for such quality of food and poor ambience while paying very high prices. Andhra pradesh and Telangana government should make a note of this and should provide the food at affordable and nominal prices.

Delicious and authentic Andhra food at Delhi. The place is heavily crowded at peak hours and hence very congested. So before visiting the canteen need to plan accordingly. We never miss an opportunity to visit Andhra bhavan canteen when we are in Delhi.
