Born and raised in the bronx and I am grateful for the workshop opportunities, the artist, the staff, the love, the organization skills and I hope to make this place my new home!

This is a great place to explore if you live in the South Bronx. You might miss it if you drive by the Grand concourse because of all the trees (and some slight construction) but it is a beauty once you step into the gates. In honestly seemed like I had stepped into Alice in Wonderland. It just a stark contrast to what one would normally see in the area. Inside there are a load of art exhibits as well that are totally free to view. There's also a little space with tables and pianos that you could read at. Recommended

really awesome venue for special events. very spacious and clean cut spaces make it easy to traverse and the outside front of the property was a nice place to hang out under the stars. only came here for a party but i imagine when it's filled with art it's an exceptional place to walk around.

Beautiful space often used for community events and artist residencies. I stopped by to to view the possibilities of renting for a project launch and stumbled upon this incredible exhibit by Fabiola Jean-Louis. Sprawling lawn, wide halls and terraces aid in the appeal of this space which is also super close to public transportation.

Love this place, huge place, lots of space. Great staff.

Rhonda Is phenomenal! We held a memorial for my brother on 11/11/23. She went out of her way to accommodate our every request. AND, she was working on a Saturday, when it happened! Of course, the event was a success. People are now asking about the venue. It's lovely place, but Rhonda is the caveat! She makes it all happen with caring/expertise!

The renovation has step up. It is beautiful the walls are bright it's very clean lovely pictures in large sizes the hall room with tables and chairs with table are decorated. Kitchen was like a new one fresh. Security was at front door with s sign in sheet. Didnt take pictures. Very nice to have patty's which is why we were there.

The Andrew Freedman Home was formerly a residential home for senior citizens & is now a Landmark & multi-venue facility. It's a charming space used for art exhibitions & other events. On this particular afternoon & evening it was used to facilitate The Bronx Vegan Bazaar with all things Vegan from food to candles. The food was good & of course healthy & there was even a DJ playing good music to eat & socialize by. So checkout the dates through December & remember, 'The Bronx is The New Vegan!'

If you have not had the chance to visit and you're in the area this is very close to the Bronx museum. I would definitely recommend coming here. It does look like an abandoned mansion but it does have very beautiful art/ exhibits inside. It's a free admissions donations are welcome. They are currently showing June 1 : I Dream Like this Everyday at Andrew Freedman Home until July 27! A solo exhibition by AFH artist-in-residence, Note' Peter George. Many more arts but I do not want to spoil it please go see and donate. The mansion itself it's huge and they do have a room for rental. Restroom are also available. It's true that it does look like you're in Florence, Italy because of garden and building. Its right in the heart of Grand Concourse and it's amazing it was built in the 1920's and now it's being used for community programs, and a gallery for local artists. Would definite come back they had a lot more art than the Bronx museum.

Nice party spot. I went there to an Art Showing with my friends and met the famous DJ Kool Herc. A wonderful event and nice people.

What used to be a luxurious residential home, is now a somehow standing building offering free art exhibits, gymnastics for kids, and other community-based programs. It's nice to see that this space is being used for something at the benefit of the local population. If you happen to walk by, you won't regret a stop.

Before the new year, I was taking a walking tour of the Bronx. The Andrew Freedman home was one of our stops. The tour guide gave us the history of the building (luxury housing built for all of the stock traders that went bankrupt in the crash of 1929). There are two art galleries that was shown to us. If you are in the area, stop by and take a look. It is a small gem that does not advertise and is only known to the locals.

We finally got our deposit back. Our experience was fine but they need to be more responsive on whats in their contract.

The exterior of this building is such an odd sight because you can tell it used to be something to behold. Now, if I were walking past here at night, it would feel like a scene in a horror film. While creepy and dilapidated, it's great news that this place is being renovated because something so historical should've been preserved a long time ago. I was fortunate to catch the "This Side of Paradise" exhibit featuring 30+ artists creating art out of materials found inside the old mansion-turned-convalescent-home for the aging and formerly wealthy. Completely fascinating how different each exhibit, almost eerie because it definitely invokes those who once lived there. Really provocative and inspiring show, I wouldn't miss it and I'm curious to see what other events the Freedman home has in store.

This elegant mansion with its sprawling courtyards nearly take up the entire block. Once inside, you find yourself transported back in time. Architectural structure is gorgeous & the interior is classically decorated appropriate for the era of its origin. Despite the need for TLC & repairs, a visit here is worth the trip. Artists companies are housed in residency to help revitalize this venue/museum. One of the Bronx's premier best kept secrets.
