Pretty darn good. But one also feels slightly guilty after coming eating here;
the burgers sometimes bring on near heart attacks; they're pretty solid
and rich.
I first ate at Andrew's In 1995! Yes that's right, 17 years ago. Back then cheese
burgers were like $3. But I can't actually remember exactly. Now they're $7.50
or so. This was when 'Andrew' himself was serving. He was great and served
with warmth. He made the place worth going back. The area was a large Greek
community then. The space itself is pretty much the same as it was back then;
that little room out back, only a few seats and the same layout.
So I've been a fan since a young lad. (The old coke bottle collection springs
to mind.)
Over the years, the younger generations have come in; Greg now runs the show,
and new cooking equipment at one point. Prices have increased, but it's still the same burger. The recipe has remained the same. The taste of of a 2012 burger
is the same as 1995 one. People say the burgers are pricey, it is true, but then
so is Grilled, and that's nothing too crash hot.
This is a bonafide local's favourite, and visitor's too; there's always streams
of people in and out the door, some times even taking boxes- as multiple
lunches for the office have been ordered. Tradies, families, students, couples,
mates, and mostly anyone else has been through these doors at some point.
My favourite is the cheeseburger which i always get, keep it simple, keep it
tasty. I've"ve also strayed into the snacks menu, and souvlaki's which were pretty
good from memory. If you're a regular, they remember you and your order.
Generally you have to wait a while for the order, but generally, it's really busy.
Minimum chips should do you well for a serving size. Back in the day you
could also most fill an entire backpack with the largest serve.
