Gorgeous permanent exhibition is moved away during war. Temporal one is about dresses embroided with typical but great ornaments from Western Ukraine. Anyway, the ticket was quite cheap - only few euros, and the museum building
in renaissance style is worth of being visited.

Good! It is very good for you on this site and then there are two floors. You can potentially see the actual theatre inside. Both inside and outside are pretty. Recommending to visit early in the day or late in the night and there wasn’t so many people so you can actually see the building without too much of a hassle and take a very nice picture of the staircase. Also the picture in front of the building is very nice with the fountain early in the morning as well

It is 3,5/5 => the only special piece of art which made me stop and look at it for few minutes was one of final judgement icon. Few painiting were also interesting with my favorite Village Cementery. Overall like 5 paintings really captured my attention , and Final Judgment religious serie was probably the best. Not in top 10 museums in my life but still worth seeing if you are in Lviv.

A big part of the collection, including the Icons, has been removed due to to the war (September 2025). The building is interesting and you can see some Ukrainian paintings and ceramics from the 70ies and 80ies but sadly everything is in Ukrainian only. The museum is currently not really worth visiting in my opinion.

A very rich collection of Ukrainian art and prints starting from the 12th century! A must-see in Lviv.

Not a lot of things to see, but interesting enough. Not sure why 5/6 of the collection was closed, maybe they were preparing something, or it was because I was the only person 45 minutes before they closed, a Wednesday.

The exhibition is amazing and vast. You can find an audio guide or enjoy written signs throughout the rooms of the museum. Temporary exhibition included some information about a famous Ukrainian writer Stefanyk while a permanent one demonstrates an art of religious paintings from different places of Ukraine as well as portraits and sculptures.
