"When Andy Nguyen Restaurant opened its doors in Sacramento in 1984, its menu reflected the culinary habits of a newly emigrated Vietnamese family still under the influence of French colonial rule. The restaurant offered coq au vin, duck a l’orange, and seafood bouillabaisse alongside fresh spring rolls and pho. Over time, though, customers came to prefer the latter set of dishes, and the owners listened, veering away from French-inspired Vietnamese food and leaning into the ones they grew up eating in Saigon. Fast-forward a few more years to an inspiring trip to India and conversion to Buddhism, and the Nguyen family pivoted again to an entirely vegetarian menu. Mushrooms abound at Andy Nguyen’s Vegetarian Restaurant: Tempura blue oysters crusted in sesame seeds and served with a creamy Sriracha dipping sauce are a filling small plate with layers of crunch; for a subtler interpretation, try the sea salt smoked oyster mushrooms with a simple slaw." - Tamerra Griffin

Google
Really good vegetarian food with large portions. Loved the maha mushrooms, lemongrass tofu and karma rolls as appetizers. The entrees were tasty as well. They have a good selection of smoothies and fresh juices. Highly recommend this place!

Google
Great vegetarian and vegan Vietnamese food! We tried the fried mushroom appetizer and it was crispy and delicious with a good portion. We also had the urban monk bowl (nice sweet sauce and a tender beef substitute) and the supreme noodles (delicious broth packed with protein and veg) - we asked for sriracha and hoisin on the side. Good, fast service - I will definitely be back here to try other items from their extensive menu. It’s pricy but not surprising for the area unfortunately

Google
I am a vegetarian and this food just blew me away. By far the best vegetarian/vegan food I've ever had. I had the most delicious burger; so delicious in fact that I just couldn't believe it wasn't actual meat in it. The taste of the meat is so legit that it made me wonder and worry a bit actually, thinking that it was actual meat that I was having. If you are either vegan or vegetarian, or if you eat all foods, I highly recommend this place. Go try it out and see for yourself.

Google
Decided to try this place since it was a highly reviewed vegetarian restaurant and was not disappointed. Most of the dishes were actually vegan. Great portion sizes and friendly staff. The most surprising thing were the fries. I personally don't like vegan mozzarella cheese but oof these fries were bomb. I definitely recommend this place to everyone and I hope I can visit again.

Google
LEGIT!!! This is hands down one of the best vegan restaurants I've been to. There are only 2 vegetarian dishes (one includes 1 egg and the other is coffee.) There are a lot of rice plates, soups, vermicelli bowls, spring rolls, salads, and starters to choose from. Even if you were a meat eater, you would still have lots of fun choosing a dish and eating it. All of their food is pretty good. I had the treasure roll, karma roll, urban monk bowl, zen yakisoba noodles, patience noodles, supreme noodles, harmonious connection, pineapple lemonade, and fruit stand. All the dishes had a generous amount of toppings, "meat," and carbs. It was very filling. Treasure roll was a simple spring roll with great peanut dipping sauce. Great starter. Karma roll has some mango in it and it also was good, but I liked treasure roll more. The karma roll comes with vegan fish sauce. Urban monk bowl was my favorite savory dish. Very light and refreshing. The soy beef was really tasty. Zen yakisoba noodles were my second favorite dish. Basically they are pan fried thick noodles with mushrooms and "shrimp." It hit the spot for my fast food cravings. Patience noodles tasted like a vegetable broth, but it had a savory depth to it. It was okay but I would try something else next time. Didn't mind eating it but I also love traditional pho and it really can't compare, literally. Supreme noodles were VERY lemongrassy but I like lemongrass so it was okay. Kinda on the sour side. Harmonious connection had a strong coconut milk base and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Awakening of Faith was also pretty dang good. A generous helping of tofu and spy beef mixed with fresh herbs and veggies. The drinks were okay. Definitely preferred pineapple lemonade over fruit stand. Fruit stand was less sugary than anticipated. Be sure to mix your drinks because all the sugar accumulated at the bottom for my pineapple lemonade. They ran out of the drip coffee when we went. Overall, a solid choice. Highly recommend!! They also seem to be one of the only vegan options open in Sac on Mondays.

Had a late lunch here after a training. The service was great, even though it was a bit busy and there was only 1 waitress. So it took time to get our order in. We ordered tea and never got it. But the food came fast after the order and it took time to get the bill. Everything here is available in vegan and you dont really expect food to taste as good. However the appetizer platter came with an assortment of egg rolls, meats, okra and and a noodle type. Everything had it's own sauce and prepared very well. The beef with broccoli and soup was all very good. Beef with broccoli did not look or taste vegetarian, it was delicious. Soup had a coconut thai flavor and soy meats went very well with everything.. Definitely would come here again:)

Google
Hands down the best Vietnamese food I've ever had and it's better than any meat dishes. The pad Thai is scrumptious, the juices so fresh, and amazing spring rolls. Definitely worth going to while in Sacramento for vegans, vegetarians, and meat eaters alike.

Google
Shockingly disappointing. Almost made a fuss about not even paying for the 3 dishes which wasn't worth $60. Such high hopes because of their story of the refugee parents from Vietnam opening this restaurant in the 80s. Figured it has to be good if it's open that long right? Nope. No flavor. Not even salty. Which works for restaurants that then focus on super high quality ingredients that naturally have a lot of flavor. Nope. Ingredients have no flavor. Dry. Chewy like they've been sitting there. Especially the maha mushrooms which everyone raves about in reviews. Even the dish we ordered from the exotic flavors or whatever had zero flavor. Not to mention the rice noodles were disgustingly clumped together (which is what happens when you overcook them then let them sit for a while). See image below. Couldn't even eat it. The craziest part is we were STARVING when we got here. So anything should've tasted good. Imagine how nasty it would've been if hadn't been so hungry?

Yelp
WOW!!! What great food... We, me, my 90year old mom, my son and his 3 children, went for father's day late lunch/early dinner. We ate several options from the "starters (appetizers)" menu; we ate until we were full. Everything was SO GOOD!!! Except the fries too cheesy. All the juice drinks were really delicious also. Quiet place, we were the noisy group, clean, SORRY FOR THE MESS WE LEFT UNDER THE TABLE, MESSY 3-year-old... I'll be back it was delicious

Yelp
So yummy! Can't believe it has taken me this long to try this place! Atmosphere: So cute! Love the warm wood and greenery? Service: Solid! Food: the spring rolls were refreshing and the froed maitake mushrooms were so good with the dipping sauce! I liked the pho better than the curry soup but both were good :)

Yelp
Parking is street parking around the corner. There is always spots open. They have both indoor and outdoor eating. They have tables set out in front in their entry way. We've eaten out there before. It's' nice and secluded. Usually we eat in the first table by the door. We usually arrive 11:30 on a weekday and it's usually empty. This past time we went it was busy, there were 4 tables eating when we arrived at Noon. Our go to is Inner Peace. It's a cold noodle salad that comes with a fired egg roll. It's really light and tastes fresh and delicious. I highly recommend this place.

Yelp
This was my first time visiting this restaurant. In the past, Joe K and I often dined at their location in Rancho Cordova, which was not entirely devoted to plant based cuisine. Unfortunately, that one eventually closed. But on a positive note, I was invited to attend a UYE, arranged by one of my Yelp friends: Bridget W. She is a true vegetarian, so I was excited to finally go to an event that included an intimate party of other Yelp friends which I hadn't seen in over a year since Joe K passed away. When it comes to vegetarian and vegan foods, I'm all for it! When it is served Vietnamese style, well, that's even better! The interior dining room is a bit small and cozy, so large parties may not work well here. Our server, Jannessa did a nice job taking care of our party of six. The menu has a nice selection of delicious options, making choosing somewhat hard. I finally narrowed my desire for "Inner Peace": Rice noodles, crispy lotus roll, lettuce, cucumbers, sprouts, carrots, mixed seasonal herbs, toasted crushed peanuts w/ house vinaigrette. To accompany my meal, I chose one of their "Elixirs of Life" beverages: the "Shaolin Monk": a combination of strawberry, banana, pineapple, spirulina and matcha. Everyone ordered different dishes and seem to really enjoy the food. My dinner was very satisfying and actually brought me some inner peace. I think it was not just the food, but the company that gave me some comfort for being out of touch from Yelp events for awhile and socializing without Joe K. Thanks again to Bridget W. for inviting me and reuniting us together to include Jenny P., David O., Alex T., and Nancy M. I look forward to another UYE again!

Yelp
If you love vegetarian, Vegan eats, come check out @andynguyenrestaurant84! I was impressed with their vegan Vietnamese bun bo hue, which is a lemon grass soup with using soy beef, and shitake mushrooms. The flavors and presentations were great. Ambiance is very zen and relaxing inside. Casual setting so you can relax. Limited seating inside. Good parking spots on the street. Easy to find and not missed. Service was great. I would come and try out other items as well. . Supreme Noodles- "Hue Province Spicy Noodle Soup" soy beef, tofu, shiitake mushroom, seasonal mixed vegetables in a spicy pineapple lemongrass broth topped w/ sprouts, onions, basil, jalapeños & lime. ALLERGENS: Vegan. Wheat-free Option Available - this one is one of my favorites. It has a great broth with good flavor of lemongrass. It's perfect for cold weather and rainy days. . Nirvana Lemon Salad-Grilled soy beef w/ carrots, cabbage, onions, mixed herb slaw, crushed peanuts, sesame seeds w/ house vinaigrette. ALLERGENS: Vegan. Wheat-free Option Available - it's like a salad for small bites to pick on throughout the meal. Also great to share and eat alone as a light snack. . Treasure Roll- Lettuce, rice noodles, soy shrimp, soy ham, mixed herbs, pickled carrots, crushed peanuts & crispy strip w/ rice paper, and peanut sauce. ALLERGENS: Vegan/ Contains Wheat & Whey - it's like eating spring roll with meats, but has soy shrimp and soy ham, it's a light and refreshing appetizer to start off with sharing or eat alone and not share. . Inner Peace- Rice noodles, crispy lotus roll, lettuce, cucumbers, sprouts, carrots, mixed seasonal herbs, toasted crushed peanuts w/ house vinaigrette. ALLERGENS: Vegan. Contains Wheat - it's like eating a generous portion of crispy spring rolls with the noodle bowl. It's quite light and crisp and refreshing with the Vegan fish sauce. . Urban Monk Bowl- Rice noodle, garlic, onions, sautéed beef, lettuce, cucumbers, sprouts, carrots, mixed seasonal herbs, toasted crushed peanuts w/ house vinaigrette sauce. ALLERGENS: Vegan. Contains Wheat - the soy beef is char grill3d perfectly. The balance of the noodles and soy meat with some vegan fish sauce was great.

Yelp
Andy Nguyen's continues to improve and impress, so I'm updating this review to give this local veggie-forward restaurant the extra credit it deserves. I recently came in with a friend to try their Sacramento Vegan Chef Challenge menu. I look forward to what Andy Nguyen's comes up with every year, and this one was even better than the last. All three items sounded amazing, so we just ordered one of everything to share. Wow, it was all really good. The lemongrass beef spring rolls were particularly terrific and I hope find a home on the permanent menu. And Lion's Mane mushrooms? Yeah, more chefs definitely need to get familiar with these because they're phenomenal. Since my last review the front facade of the restaurant now has a small, enclosed patio that allows for dining al fresco in a very zen way. It's also a dog-friendly space. Locals have known about this spot for decades. It's also likely that this restaurant has been around longer than most of the people that'll read this review. So if you're not from Sacramento, put this one on your list the next time you pass through town because you are going to love it. And if you're local and still haven't been to Andy Nguyen's... what are you waiting for?!?

Yelp
Vietnamese cuisine is one of my favorite cuisines. I've had a lot excellent dishes and restaurants. I had doubts about a vegetarian restaurant with quality Vietnamese cuisine. It only took one visit to Andy Nguyen's Vegetarian to make me a believer. On my first visit, we started with the Treasure Rolls which really wowed me. The rolls were refreshing and you can really taste the natural ingredients. We then had the Awakening Mind Chow Fun and Sea Salt Smoked Oyster Mushrooms. I love chow fun and this was one of the best I've ever had. It was full flavored and you can really taste the rich umami flavors. The oyster mushroom was topped with vegetables and were a perfect match for the star ingredient. Our second visit was for the 2023 Sacramento Vegan Chef Challenge. The menu looked so impressive, we ordered one of each dish. We started with the Lemongrass Beef Spring Rolls. I thought the Treasure Rolls were impressive, I was blown away with this dish. If this was all I had for our meal, I would've been satisfied. But the goodies kept coming. We had the Bacon Egg Fried Rice next. I'm not a vegan and huge fan of bacon. I've had some really bad bacon substitutes, but this wasn't one of them. The texture wasn't exactly like real bacon, but they had the flavor down. Lastly, we had the Lion's Mane Tofu Yellow Coconut Curry. While this dish was flavorful, it wasn't as impressive as the previous dishes. All in all, our meal was very fulfilling. From the outside, you would never know there was a modern oasis inside. Parking can be a challenge because it's street parking. For the most part, our dining experience was great. My only qualm is service. It was pretty minimal. They were good about seating us and taking our order promptly. Our food was delivered in a timely manner and that was the last time we saw our server. We had to ask for refills, water and our check. But that was a minor weak spot.

Karishma M.

Yelp
I got the buddha roll and love of life noodle soup. I'm typically not a fan of rice paper spring rolls. I typically like my spring rolls deep fried. However, these were actually really good. The mushrooms were well flavored with lemongrass and cooked that I thoroughly enjoyed them. I always love udon noodle soups and this one hit. The caramelized onions and cilantro, reminiscent of pho, were the cherry on top. I also like vegan shrimp and this was in it too, in addition to the tofu and veggies. The broth was flavorful too, enough to the point that I was enjoying drinking it plain. Service was good too, no issues. Today was my second time here and I will absolutely continue to be back.

Amalija D.

Yelp
I've been enjoying this restaurant everytime I visit Sacramento for over five years now, and I still enjoy it just as much! I tried their burger tonight along with some karma rolls, and poured some of the roll's dipping sauce on the burger--it was delicious! Highly recommended as usual. :)

Yelp
I haven't been into Andy Nguyen's since it used to be just a regular Vietnamese restaurant! This was my return with my family. My sis-in-law is vegetarian so she loves hitting up this place whenever she is in town. (She's from the Bay) They remodeled the place to look nice and modern. We had a pretty big party, (I think there were almost 20 of us) so we got the back wall to us. The waitstaff were very sweet. This place definitely has a bit of a hipster vibe... But being vegetarian, I kind of expected it, lol. My brother insisted that we try one of their many juices, so I got the Yoda - On account I was wearing a Star Wars themed shirt. I went full theme, baby! I would say even though the drink is green, it is quite heavy on the banana flavor. It's good, but I was expecting to taste more than banana. The smoked mushroom app was very good! My hubs let me try some of his Awakening Mind chow fun - This was more like a Vietnamese bun cold noodle dish. Not exactly what he was thinking but I thought it was good still. My Self Nurturing chow fun was more his speed. Definitely more like a regular chow fun, but a tad salty for my liking. It was still good though. Cool spot for sure. Will be back to try other things!

Yelp
Ordered today for pickup. Have seen this restaurant on Boadway, a bit hidden but there. I ordered the mixed berry, with coconut milk H2O, which I thought was juice, but was like a milkshake, very thick, too sweet for me. The egg rolls were good, the grilled veggies were grilled to perfection, the sushi was ok, nothing spectacular. The flat noodles were thick and clunky, stuck together, and the brown rice was good. Overall, out of 5, I'd say 4 stars. I wouldn't order from here again. I wasn't my favorite vegan joint, unfortunately.

Raimond S.

Yelp
Their cuisine is our family favorite and bit hard to impress. They food was good and tasty. The food was cooked well so each item had it's own flavor was bit crunchy just it is the best. The portions were big and filling. Kids and adults like the food the same and could find options. Maybe I didn't find on the menu, but didn't seem to have spicy hot items. The service was fast and pleasant. They were dressed very casually and the opposite of fancy. The place has bit better ambiance than fast food place, but not particularly nice either. They didn't have updated paper menus and expected to use QR code scanned and mobile screen menus only. Several of us didn't have phones and we also heard table next to us ask for the menu and faced the same issue. The menus they had were outdated manly about the prices.

Minh Anh N.

Yelp
Nice ambiance. Nice food presentation. I like their soft tofu. Maybe it's just need a little bit less spicy for the pho broth.

Tahir N.

Yelp
We came up from the South Bay to see what Sacramento has to offer since I hadn't been up here in a decade+ My wife is vegetarian and she found this place which is pretty darn close to vegan. From what I can tell from the menu they will add an egg if you ask for it, but that's it. We had the Buddha rolls, and Maha mushrooms, along with their version of Pad Thai. The Buddha rolls, and their dipping sauce was pretty good. These are the fresh kind, not the deep-fried kind. The Maha mushrooms look to be trumpet mushrooms in a tempura style. Nicely salted and good crunch. Pad Thai was also flavorsome. My wife had a hot tea from their good selection, and I tried their Earthling. The earthling is a Mocktail, consisting of apple, beet, carrot, and ginger juices. It has a nice red color and arrives with a dried orange round as garnish. We won't wait 10+ years to come back to Sacramento and this place is one of the reasons why!

Cynthia L.

Yelp
So delicious! Fresh, delicious ingredients, wonderful presentation. Friendly, fast and helpful service. This place has it all! Love the vibe of this little stop along Broadway, just down from Tower Theatre. Definitely on our list as a regular stop! #vegan

Patricia L.

Yelp
Great spot!! Highly recommend. We came when they first open bc we've heard it gets full quickly. I enjoyed the restaurant atmosphere and the food so much. It's a small place but has a nice setup inside and also seating outside under a covered porch. Everything is vegan and yummy. I ordered the Buddha Belly noodle soup and we split an order of Buddha spring rolls. The noodle soup was plentiful and perfect for the cold, rainy day in Sacramento. I really enjoyed the spicy lemongrass kick. The spring rolls were traditional with the rice paper so a little bit chewy which came with a great dipping sauce. Literally just an amazing meal and great time being in the restaurant. Service was superb from beginning to end. Will come every time I visit Sacramento.

Kimberly M.

Yelp
I placed a to go order. I had the spring rolls and the supreme wisdom! The food was delicious! The service was quick!

Nina V.

Yelp
What a great restaurant! I've never dined at the restaurant, but I've ordered take-out plenty of times. Treasure Roll: there's something about their soy shrimp and ham that I just love, and this roll is filled with fragrant herbs. Karma Roll: a great, fresh roll! I love the mangoes in it, and the sauce it's served with is great. Supreme Noodles: I love BBH with a passion, so I was curious to try this vegetarian take. Unfortunately, the flavors just did not match in the slightest (and I understood this going in). The lemongrass broth was just overpowering. Love of Life: I really like this dish, but I wish they halved the amount of veggies and used more of the soy shrimp. It's basically a very expensive bowl of broth with veggies and some noodles thrown in.

Karen B.

Yelp
Always good! Love that there are so many delicious vegetarian options. The drinks were really good, too.

Adria L.

Yelp
Food: the yoda, udon, spring rolls The yoda was a great smoothie I was feeling a little under the weather and it made me feel so much better! The udon was okay, they used soba instead of udon noodles, the veggies weren't cohesive and there was no soy shrimp. I'm not sure why there was a slice of lemon in it. Spring rolls, they really have something here the mushrooms are marinated to perfection BUT it was served hot, which is a cardinal sin in my opinion Service and ambiance was good, my waitress was very nice!

Nancy L.

Yelp
As vegetarians, my brother and I decided to visit this restaurant as we were both craving pho. The restaurant was not too busy while we were there. Ambiance was nice and cool. We were quickly seated and served water. We ordered the buddha belly and patience noodle soup. When the food arrived, we were immediately disappointed at the portion sizes. Both our noodle soups contained a small amount of noodles and vegetables. Our soups were simply bland. High prices for small portions and average food.

Melanie J.

Yelp
Super tasty! We came over here after spending a few hours at Asha. I was with my vegetarian friend, and although I am not vegetarian, I love being introduced to delicious veg restaurants like Andy Nguyen. From the spring rolls to the chicken pad Thai, and the ribs wrapped around sugar cane, everything was just plain good. Solid menu, fresh and delicious. I usually take better food pics but was too eager to dive in!

Teresa L.

Yelp
I had high hopes and was unimpressed. The food was bland, even though I requested my Chow Fun SPICY. It was not. The food came out whenever/mishmashed, so we got the appetizer after entrees. Drinks also came out AFTER a few kitchen items had been served. The server NEVER checked back. At the end of the meal, one guest asked for a to-go box and the server didn't bother to ask anyone else at the table if they would also like one. (I finally got her attention to ask for one - eye contact was not her thing....) QR codes rather than a menu = huge faux pas. Just no. Meh - I won't be back.

Emily H.

Yelp
Wow! I love a cool/nice ambiance so I passed this place by (given the exterior: no plants in the boxes, old sign, not the tidiest section of Broadway). But it is COOL inside. And delicious. So many noodles. The best NA/juice drinks menu. Charcoal lemonade!

R B.

Yelp
Happened here because am in Sacramento at lunch time with nothing dragging me back to the office. I had the maha mushrooms and they are insanely good. But this vegetarian loco moco... astounding on all levels. The atmosphere is very zen and I would so recommend this place.

Tanya T.

Yelp
The food was delicious and a huge plus that everything suited our vegan pallete. The dragon pot was served hot, sides were appropriately sized, and the salad was ok. Everything was filling but it made me reminisce to a time where I cooked with Kinders brand teriyaki with sesame and ginger. The soup tasted exactly the same. We also had the love of my life which was delicious and very well sized that we had leftovers for the next day. The karma roll was sticking to each other and a little sloppy but tasted fresh enough. The pineapple lemonade was my favorite though. It had pineapple juice, lychee, chia seeds and just a beautiful and tasty combination of flavors. Ambiance was elegant in a casual way. The decor really tied everything together. I love cultural art in full display quietly making a bold statement. There wasn't any service (unless you count taking our order and bringing the check service) which is the charm of the place and I love that. Things were simple and without pressure which is how I love to dine. Its a drive away but I think it was worth the trip. I recommend trying this establishment at least once or twice.

Matthew L.

Yelp
Easy to miss the restaurant when passing through Broadway and good thing too, do not recommend. Came here because my friend is mostly vegan, but occasionally vegetarian. The decor of the restaurant is nice and weird at the same time. I agree with the comments about the service being slow and inattentive. We were the only people in the restaurant and we mostly see the backs of the servers. Food does not even come close to Vietnamese or Thai taste and seems like a hodge podge of random vegetables with noodles. Price of menu items are high and quality of food is that of a bad fast food take out. The tofu tasted odd, and the noodles felt old. For both noodle dishes that should be cooked in a wok or a hot pan, huge lack of smokey flavor. How does a restaurant that serves Thai tea not have any straws? We end up using a chopstick to mix the Thai tea contents.

Rebecca P.

Yelp
Before you even read the review, really think to yourself - am I willing to enjoy vegan food without the expectation of it tasting exactly like meat ?? This is a vegan food restaurant so there is no dairy or meat products, but that doesn't at all take away from how delicious the food is. I've come here twice now with my mother who is vegan and I just love it! I am not vegan myself but it doesn't bother me to enjoy this style of cuisine. I appreciate the thoughtfulness that went into each dish to enhance the flavor. My favorite is the Thai tea drink with the coconut cream, and the peaceful existence dish. And don't even get me started on the spring rolls, they are all AMAZING ! And so soooo delicious. The staff here has always been sweet and helpful, and the inside has a calm and relaxing environment. The location is sadly not on the most beautiful part of Broadway, but once you are inside it's like a whole new world. check this place out, even if you're not vegan! You will leave feeling warm and fuzzy inside and will be dying to come back.

Amy N.

Yelp
I always go here whenever I'm craving vegetarian (vegan) food! They made it taste so good, just like regular meat foods. Drinks are delicious also.

Lynn D.

Yelp
Let me just say this....get there early on Fridays because this place fills up fast. The food, service and atmosphere is just great! You get so much food, enough for leftovers.

Fawaz H.

Yelp
I don't have enough good things to say about Andy's. I'm not even vegan/vegetarian but I absolutely adore this spot. The service is always on point, the staff is super friendly and patient. The vibe is very zen so if that's your cup of tea you'll love this place. Highly recommend: - The Buddha Roll - The Buddha Burger (GET IT WITH AN EGG) - Anything with mushrooms

Vijay V.

Yelp
Food was tasty, plentiful and very satisfying. We had Karma Rolls, Dragon Mushroom Iron Pot and Awakening of Faith. Service was warm, hospitable, friendly. While heartedly recommend Andy Nguyen. We look forward to eating here on next trip to Sacramento.

Anthony L.

Yelp
The ambience is good. The outside front patio camouflages the front entrance. The place is not very large, but has a nice cozy atmosphere. The service was good. We received our food pretty quick. The food was excellent! I am not vegan or vegetarian, but the food was beyond delicious! We had the Bruddah Roll and the Self Nurturing Chow Fun. The two servings were more than enough for the two of us. This is a must try place even if you are not vegan or vegetarian.

Michael N.

Yelp
Yum! Came here as a "Detox dinner" after a long weekend, and we were very pleased. Started off with their fruit/veggie juices - very refreshing, fresh, and detoxifying. I believe we got their Green Goddess and one of their other drinks. The portions on the drinks are large and can probably be split between 2 people. As for the food, we got one of their standard noodle bowls and their basil salad. Enjoyed both of them with considerable portion sizes. Prices were fair for bougie vegan/vegetarian food (which means it'll generally be almost $20 per entree). Service was decent. Not much AC running around, but it stayed moderately cool and had misters for the outdoor patio.

Raheem A.

Yelp
If you would have told me five years ago that my future self would be purchasing premium skincare products and healthy juices, I probably would have laughed in your face. However, at the age of 37, I have come to realize that money spent on selfcare & healthy foods is a health investment. Therefore, after receiving a fresh haircut by hair professional Antoine Dunn, per his recommendation, I proceeded next door to Andy Nguyen's Vegetarian. Upon entering the restaurant, I was warmly greeted by numerous employees behind the counter (one of the employees kindly commented on how crisp he thought my haircut was). I proceeded to order the "Kind" juice from the "Elixirs of Life" portion of the drink menu. I patiently waited for ten minutes until an employee walked over to me and handed me the juice. What I did not realize is how much love was going into the drink as I sat there for ten minutes. The juice was not only large, but I could taste every single ingredient listed on the menu (Mixed berries, banana, wild berry protein coconut). I am very grateful that Antione referred me here, and will treat myself to a juice following my future hair appointments (every two weeks). Thank you Andy Nguyen's Vegetarian!

My family and I were here the other day for an impromptu lunch. It was the best spontaneous decision we have made in a long time! For small bites, we ordered the Karma Roll to start. They're fresh spring rolls made with fresh mangos, grilled tofu, lettuce, rice noodles, caramelized onion herbs, picked carrots. Dipped with their yummy sauce, a great choice that's refreshing and delicious! I ordered the Nirvana Lemon Salad for my main dish. It was a big plate of Grilled soy beef w/ carrots, cabbage, onions, mixed herb slaw, crushed peanuts, sesame seeds w/ house vinaigrette. So crunchy and flavorful! Very filling! My kiddos shared the Devine Realization, probably the best ""Pad Thai" we have ordered in a long time. It included sautéed rice noodles w/ seasonal mixed vegetables, beets, shiitake mushrooms, seasonal herbs w/ toasted peanuts. We even had leftovers for them to take home (so many noodles)! My husband ordered the Awakening of Faith bowl. It was a beautifully presented dish that included rice noodles, crispy lotus roll, grilled tofu & shiitake mushroom, lettuce, cucumbers, sprouts, carrots, mixed seasonal herbs, toasted crushed peanuts w/house vinaigrette. He truly enjoyed it and said it was the best bowl he has had in a long time. Thank you for offering such wonderful vegetarian and vegan options in Sacramento. Loved the outdoor dining options and the interior is just beautiful as well. Parking available on the street and easy to find!

Yelp
Great ambiance delicious teas and great vegetarian food, I am not vegetarian and although I am not picky I do feel often unsatisfied when eating out at vegetarian spots. This place however did not disappoint. I got their Loco moco, fries, and spring rolls. Everything was really hood and the veggies used in the spring rolls were super fresh!

Yelp
Dragon Mushroom Iron Pot: Organic oyster mushrooms, tofu, vegetables, and bamboo shoots in ginger sauce. Topped off with crushed black pepper and caramelized onions - Simple yet delicious stir fry dish. The ginger sauce is light yet flavorful and I loved the variety of vegetables this dish came with. Served with a side of arugula, carrots, and tofu, and your choice of white or brown rice. Karma Roll: Fresh mangos, grilled tofu, lettuce, rice noodles, caramelized onion herbs, picked carrots w/ rice paper - simple spring roll, the mango in this is super refreshing and makes for a great, light appetizer to share Parking: Small shop on Broadway, there are a few parking spots next to it or there is plenty of street parking available nearby. Environment: Cute, cozy shop with indoor and outdoor seating. Service was average but they were quite busy with all the customers. Found this new spot scrolling on Yelp and wanted to give it a try, so I dragged my friend out for some dinner. I'm always weary of vegetarian places because their protein can have a weird taste to it or the dishes may overcompensate with salt and other seasonings, but this spot does vegetarian right! Absolutely loved all the dishes I got to try and will be back to try more.

Yelp
Food outstanding; staff is sweet but in serious need of customer service skills ( no one asked us if we needed anything which we did multiple times, or checked in on us; almost no interaction from staff not even a goodbye! They ran out of an item we ordered and replaced it without informing us; no apologie; they just didn't know better, it seemed. Train the staff, y'all! The place would be packed!!! Fake beef tastes like tender tasty beef, don't know how the hell they've pulled that off. We were a larger party of folks and everyone loved loved the food. Unusual dishes, full of flavor. Shockingly good.

Yelp
OMG I've driven past this place a million times. It's a vegan, speakeasy Vietnamese place. It looks like dump from the outside, but is a jewel inside. Great menu! Excellent, spicy dishes. (I'm still sweating). Can't wait to explore the other dishes.

Yelp
Love this as our stop when driving through to Disneyland, food is a plus- spice level can be over the top even when asking for mild (when ordered online so that may be the problem). Wish they were open a tad bit later

Yelp
Second time here and the food was once again delicious! We made ourselves try something different than we had last time and we didn't regret it one bit.

Yelp
WHOOOOOAAAAAAAAA! I am freaking obsessed with this place. I'm not even a vegetarian! Absolutely everything was amazing and bursting with flavor. My fav were the deep fried mushrooms and the vermicelli bowl. The smokiness of the "meat" in the bowl hit home! Service was a 6/10. The servers took our order and kind of just stood around and we weren't checked on. The ambiance was calming and quiet. Parking was pretty good in the area as well. It's really easy to miss the place so keep your eye out.

Yelp
We came in with a large group of 8-10 last minute around lunch on a very hot day and they were able to accommodate us after around 20-30 min. which was fine. The orders came out a little slow, but they do have a large variety of options but I think the highlight for me was definitely the Loco Moco it was super flavorful and very filling so it was highlight for me!

Yelp
It is not often I find myself dining at a vegetarian restaurant. In fact, never. But, my daughter introduced me to this place and it became one of the most enjoyable dining experiences to date. My goodness, what a find! Although the place is not located in a shiny new shopping center and won't win any beauty contests to passersby, its food and service was top notch. We ordered a variety of menu items to try out. Our adventure began with the Karma Roll. Beautifully presented and replete with flavors that delight the palate. It was tempting to order a second roll. Next came the Universal Love Lemongrass entree. It was tough to believe there was no seafood or meat in this or any of the dishes. Yet, it tasted like the "real" thing. The Zen Egg Noodles satisfied our chow mein desires perfectly. After the Patience Noodle Soup arrived, it was difficult to decide which was our favorite item. Only one disappointment from this visit. It is 500 miles from my home.

Yelp
I visited Andy's for the first time a couple weeks ago with my fiancé and my parents to celebrate my dad's birthday. We arrived around 6:30pm and were seated right away. The restaurant was pretty empty at the time but filled up quickly despite being a Tuesday night! The waitress who greeted us and served us all night was super friendly. It took a bit to get our order taken due to the rush of people, but we did get our drinks very quickly and the restaurant offered a complimentary drink since it was my dad's birthday! That was such a nice surprise and made our visit special. We tried quite a variety of items from the menu. I think some of my favorite things were the Spring Beef Salad, Self Nurturing Chow Fun, and the Supreme Wisdom; they were the most flavorful in my opinion. The other items were also good, but on the lighter side when it came to flavor/relied more on the sauce. Overall, we had a nice dinner to celebrate my dad's birthday. Andy's has done a great job in making vegetarian dining approachable and delicious! It was also fun to hear stories from my parents about visiting the original restaurant back when they were teenagers and remarking how much things have changed. We'll be back!

Yelp
Amazing! Great flavor, clean ingredients, good portions and so many gluten free options! There is something for everyone and the love and thoughtfulness they put into their food comes through clearly. Service was fantastic. A place I will come back to every time I'm in town!

Yelp
The rating is for the food only!**** The food was really delicious. The service wasn't bad, but it was almost nonexistent. It felt like talking to a robot. They came to the table took the order, disappeared, brought food when it was ready and disappeared again. There were two other groups dining while I was there, not too busy. I saw 4 different staff working the front and they were somehow still slow. Everything felt overpriced considering the service. I enjoyed the food, but I can get similar quality elsewhere for a cheaper price with that kind of service. The establishment looked clean.
