I ordered food and it was extremely fast. When it was ready, I walked in to pick up my order. They greeted me, got me my food right away. The atmosphere was beautiful and amazing. The food, however, is mediocre. Nothing super special. I only ate once here, though. I ordered the enchilada supreme, and a side of rice and it was a nice surprise to also see.If they gave me chips and salsa!

Teri Hand

Google
The food came fast and it was fresh and steaming hot. If you get Hector you would have a better time there.

We eat here alot, and the last few times we had the same waitress and she is very slow at coming around. Everything i seen her she was sitting at the bar with a guy playing pull tabs. Tonight she forgot about our food and 3 other families got their food that showed up after us.

Google
Wait staff was great, food was fantastic (their chorizo is actually spicy and very very tasty), and the atmosphere is lovely! My sister is a vegetarian and they were easily able to alter menu items to suit her dietary needs. Will definitely be returning soon.

Google
This place is my favorite! Best salsa and chips. My favorite meal is their Burrito Ruleta. I have been going here since they opened with my parents, and in my early days was able to convince a few dates to eat a meal with me here, I remember one of my dates got seconds on her margarita lol I wouldn't hesitate to bring your companion here on a date, or your family. The staff are friendly and are family I believe so the faces are familiar. Atmosphere is authentic. Location is sweet. I live a 4 minute walk away.

Google
I go here alot. It offers a very solid authentic Mexican experience and menu. Service and food have always been good every time.

Google
Excellent food, fast/friendly service. Absolutely atrocious to-go packaging. What a mess. And the fact that we only got 3 tortillas and about 4 (tiny) shrimp in this dish is confusing considering the $24 price tag. The flavor was impressive and the service has always been awesome but I wasn’t impressed with the mess and seemingly missing portions. [insert eye roll here]

Google
Our server was amazing putting up with our large group of young mothers getting away from kids and significant others for a girls night! Food was amazing, margaritas to die for (good thing we had DD’s haha), and a great atmosphere all in all!

Yelp
This was me, and my husband's first time here. This was also a take out. The employees were very attentive and nice. The restaurant is really clean and decorated beautiful. People were dining, so I didn't take many pics. We ordered the Seafood Molcajete. It consist of crab, shrimp, scallops and tilapia. Crab isn't on the menu for this, but it was plenty of it in this entree. Also, mushrooms, onions and cheese. It comes with squash and guacamole. I don't eat that, so I excluded that. Rice, beans, and tortillas are also included. The food is really seasoned well, and if you love hot peppers, they give you one big one for your food. No thank you. :-/ lol I love mushroom, but not my husband. He forgot to tell them, NO mushrooms. So he sat and picked, every one of them out of his food. Lol! YAY, more for me. The restaurant give you a helpful portion. We didn't eat all of our food, so we have food left for later. There are really great entrees, and appetizers on the menu. They also have a lunch menu online and in the restaurant. Trust me, you will definitely leave here with a happy tummy and a smile on your face. I'm FULL! :-)

Yelp
Ordered quesadillas Birria tacos and a margarita the food was amazing. Would recommend and come again. Our server was very friendly and the music in the background makes it feel authentic.

Yelp
Food was really good, however they brought me out the wrong platter which was more expensive, but rather than have them lose money I said I would eat it. I was shocked they still charged me for the more expensive plate.

Yelp
Searching for Authentic Mexican food? Here's the spot!! Everyone always loves the chips and salsa staple at Mexican restaurants, right? Well this place TRULY has the best salsa! We ordered enchiladas for our meal and they were so good! The best part - they didn't skimp on the cheese on top! That's my favorite part of enchiladas. The service was exceptional and our order was ready so quick. Guys, this restaurant is amazing and you need to give it a try!

Yelp
This is a great little restaurant with good food, but make sure your bill is right. There were 4 if us, we called to make reservations. It was hard to get through but keep trying even if you get that message about a full mailbox, as you need a reservation before you get into the door. The tables are the required 6' for covid and all are wearing there masks. We were inside it was nice to be able to sit inside and enjoy a dinner. The server was nice and patient as we took a while to order being we hadn't been there before. The margaritas were good but not strong, though for 9.99 for 22iz I'm not surprised. We ordered a small cheese dip, which we didn't get, but didn't get charged for. The meals were the polo popeye, carna asada taco's, quesadilla sampler, beef burrito topped with queso, & 1 beef enchilada topped with red sauce. Everyone really liked there food, except the tacos. That person said it was a little dry. So overall it was a good meal, we would go again. You should check it out.

Yelp
We frequent Anejos and recommend you to also. Every time we eat here it is fabulous Friendly service, attention to detail are what they do !!!!

Yelp
If you love Mexican food that's Americanized you'll love this place. I ordered the Chicken Chimichanga dinner which tasted great; however it was loaded with too much con queso and shredded Asiago on the Chimichangas and Asiago on the beans. Side salad could have had smaller bites to complement the Chimi's. I asked for jalapeños and was given pickled instead of fresh. Still in fairness, the overall meal was very tasty. The service was phenomenal right as you enter with a smiling face and agreeable presence. Even the owners work the floor; always a fantastic sign of family ownership and pride of place. The Mexican music put us right in the mood as we entered the door and continued throughout the meal. The decor gave an authentic feel of Mexico, which was quite pleasing and not overwhelming. 9 out 10 I'd recommend.

Yelp
Great decor and good food. Service was quick and friendly. My burrito was more than I could eat. I will be back

Yelp
Love this place. The owner is very friendly and has visited us on numerous visits to see how we like the place. Good food and it's clear they care about their reputation and want your business. No negatives in my opinion, but if I did have a concern, I'm confident they'd deal with it immediately.

Yelp
One of my favorite Mexican restaurant in town...great service and delicious food. Always love their table salsa with chips and they gladly bring more when asked. Can't seemed to steer away from their molcajetes. They have the Anejos molcajete that is absolutely delicious with all the different meats and the seafood one that is in the picture. Generous toppings of shrimp, tilapia fish, scallops and artificial crab meat are served in this mortar stone bowl. Comes bubbling with ooey gooey cheese with onions, zucchini's and mushrooms...served with rice, tortilla, beans and guacamole salad. Get a cozy booth and enjoy delicious food.

Yelp
I love the food I get every single time. My dads favorite are the Carne Asada Tacos. We love every single visit.

Yelp
Best Mexican food in central Minnesota... would eat there every day if possible! Sartell location is my favorite, although Waite Park is just as good.

Yelp
We thought it looked authentic. Stopped for a quick lunch. Service was good. Food was average at best. I LOVE Mexican food, but was sorely disappointed. Our quesadilla arrived with very little cheese, a literal teaspoon of guacamole and a teaspoon of sour cream. I asked for salsa to dip it in. Received and extra charge of $1.50? Weird. It doesn't come with a quesadilla? We'll go back to our solid favorite, Mexican Village Downtown St Cloud. All the chips and salsa we desire!

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic service! We had a group of 8 and the service and food were top notch!

Yelp
Spent several years in Texas and I can tell you that this is some legit food you will not be disappointed. Maybe the tortillas and chips aren't homemade like they are in Texas but this is good Tex Mex. Get the Añejos plate and you'll feel like you were in San Antonio. Crispy taco, chalupa, enchilada, tamale, Chile relleno and beans and rice. I love their salsa for their chips. It is homemade and it is good. And their magaritas are amazing. Fresh juice and delicious. Homemade not a mix. I appreciate you guys. You're the sh1t.

Yelp
Great food, it came fast and hot, the Fresh margarita is awesome, and our waitress was very attentive. We had a group of 6 and she did great - will be going back again and have recommended them to friends.

Yelp
My MIL was so excited to share this place with us. The food hear is far from authentic and even further from fine Mexican cuisine. For starters we showed up at 1:00 on Saturday. There were only 4 other tables and the service was SOOOOO slow. It took 10 minute to get a server. Then another 8 minutes to get the water we ordered. Our server, who was the owner's son, decided to chat with another server before he decided we could have our water. My MIL in ordered the quesadilla sampler. The cheese one was hard and already congealed when it arrived. The chicken one was just shredded chicken with a small sprinkle of cheese. They only gave her sour cream for dipping, no guac/cheese sauce or pico. Unless they think that diced tomatoes = pico. Hubby ordered the appetizer sampler. Which looked good but was dripping with oil. There was barely any toppings on the nachos. The flautas were soggy and dripping with even more oil. No color on the plate just loads of white, soggy, flour tortillas. Sadly this was the best looking meal of the 3. I ordered the fajita trio. It boasted chicken, steak and jumbo shrimp. I received 3 medium shrimp with tiny strips of "chicken" and then the worst red meat strips that could barely pass a steak with a few green peppers and some onion. The red meat was tough, overcooked and couldn't even rip it in half with my hands. I mentioned something to the server who told me "I'll tell the cook to cut them smaller for the next person." The next person? Cut it smaller? Maybe try starting with a good cut of meat and not cooking it to a hockey puck and then microwaving it because it was cooked 4 days ago. I shouldn't have been charged $17.99 for a meal that I didn't eat the steak meat and complained. My meal also came with large smeared scoop of canned refried beans and frozen mexican rice that was so tasteless and bland. I also asked our server if he they had any house made not sauce. He said they had a habanero sauce and I got excited. But then he brought me a puce colored paste that looked like a mixture of hummus and split pea soup. It was only slighly hot but mostly just grainy. On our way out we noticed exactly how dirty the place was, as the front windows looked like they hadn't been cleaned since last Spring. Grateful I didn't need to use the restroom. No wonder this place was mostly empty. Horrible food, slow service, bad customer service . . . not even Chef Gordon Ramsey could save this place.

Yelp
Meh. The food was just alright. Rice was a bit dry. The prices are good. Best part was the horchata.

Yelp
I love their fajita salad, it is my favorite. When you need to eat healthy but the rest of your family doesn't, it's always hard to find a place that has something for everyone and tastes great! Whatever you do, don't miss out on the chips and queso...even the healthiest of eaters can't resist. The restaurant is BEAUTIFUL and the atmosphere is relaxing. It has a upscale family feel to it. The staff is warm, welcoming and very knowledgeable of the food served. They make you feel like family. Places like this are so hard to find.

Yelp
We have sort of rediscovered Anejos It is very good and has become our "go too" Mexican restaurant. Food and service are great.

Yelp
found TWO black hairs in my food. Service was ok, did get my refund. place was scetchy

Yelp
We had Don Ramon cater a wedding for us in November(2019). He went above and beyond to make sure everything went as planned. It was our first time working with a caterer and he really set the bar high. On the day of the wedding, he was early and did a very nice set up of the food. We did buffet style serving and it worked out amazing! Everyone complimented the food and loved how smoothly everything went. I would definitely hire him again for any event!!!

Yelp
Best Mexican in town with amazing service. I always get the same meal and it's always incredible. If you are in town I highly recommend stopping by.

Yelp
Oh, finally have had some good Mexican food in MN! Coming from Chicago, I got spoiled on quality Mexican food up here. Came here with some coworkers on a training in St. Cloud and we all were very happy with our meal! Between us we had tacos, burritos, and stuffed peppers. Each was very tasty and appropriately spicy. Good chips and salsa coming with the dinner too! If you're in St. Cloud, it's worth the short drive north to have dinner here!

Yelp
Tonight we chose this restaurant for dinner. We are attempting to be loyal to our business locally. One would think after the business being restricted by Covid19 and losing revenue that the staff would be eager to get patrons in the seats. With a handful of tables actually filled, my family waited 10 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge our presence. The three of us stood next to the greeter station while 3 employees walked around us and not one stopping to ask if we would like a table. Eventually one person stopped to ask if we were dining in. We got seated. Then another 10 minutes passed and not one waitress stopped to take even a drink order. After being ignored for 20 minutes straight, we were all done. There are choices elsewhere. We drove to El Loro. Seated in 30 seconds after arrival. Drinks within a few minutes. Server had a smile. No waiting. Pleasant people. Too bad my local eatery couldn't treat a local family like they mattered. Anejos doesn't get it. We will not be back to spend our money at a place that has employees that just don't care.

Yelp
We thought we'd give this restaurant another chance. Our second visit was just as disappointing as our first visit. Once again, the waitress disappeared and we waited around 20+ minutes, then flagged down the host, who finally took our order The chips tasted like cheap bagged chips from the grocery store. To their credit, they warmed them up. The salsa was bland and sweet, the rice greasy and the beans tasted canned. The carne asada (I use the term loosely) in my tacos was an odd texture. Maybe round steak? They only used one corn tortilla, not the usual two, and it fell apart as I was eating it. The tomatillo salsa that came with the tacos was the only good part of the whole evening. Still searching for good Mexican food in the area.

Yelp
Stopped in with my kiddo today. Service was very speedy. The server was kind and attentive. The decor was fun (in its natural state plus beautiful flowers and fun balloons for Valentine's Day). Most importantly, the food was very tasty. I'm new to the area and cannot wait to bring my family here when they next visit.

Luke R.

Yelp
My family has been coming to Anejos for years. We came again this evening to celebrate a milestone birthday. After waiting 15 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us I approached a bar tender to ask if there was a hostess on duty. She walked away from me. In the meantime probably three or four employees walked right past us and the line of people behind us. After another 10 minutes I informed the "manager" that we would be leaving. She responded by telling me they were full and to "use my eyes." I tried to call the management to inform them of the poor service and was hung up on Multiple times by the manager. There are too many other good Mexican restaurants in central Minnesota to waste your time and money on terrible service and childish conduct from the Management.

Yelp
I'm a pretty easy going person so it pains me to write bad reviews, but I feel an obligation to my followers. All 4 of you.... our bill was astronomical for only 2 drinks. We then realized there were 2 size options and our waiter automatically gave us the bigger size without asking us. The original margarita is absolutely nothing to get excited over. The chips are so stale I almost chipped a molar. The salsa is good though. I'll give them that.

Lee H.

Yelp
Went there for lunch. Arrived about 12:15. Was seated without even a "welcome". Ordered our food. It was "plunked" down without even an "enjoy your food". We were treated as though we were bothering them. Food was underwhelming. My wife had chicken fajitas. She had diarrhea the next day. Don't go there for lunch. The service is nil.

Yelp
I came into Anejos for the lunch hour after hearing several of my friends rave about how amazing their food is...I was eager to try it for myself. It wasn't too busy when we came in, and we were seated in a booth. Anejos has a very put-together interior, and I imagine it is a fun place to have dinner with the family as well. Anejos boasts serving authentic Mexican food however, there are aspects of the food that are very "Tex-Mex." I have close friends who eat authentic Mexican food on the daily, so in comparison to the dishes I've seen them eat at home, I can say that Anejos is one of the more authentic Mexican places in the area, but not the most authentic. With that being said, I ordered the Burrito Fajita ($8.99) with steak and my friend ordered the Lunch Fajitas ($8.99) with steak. The waiter kept saying beef, so make sure to state steak as your choice if you want steak (as not to be confused with ground beef). The chips and salsa were delicious. Personally, it was some of the best salsa I have ever had-spicy but not tooooo spicy. The chips were fresh and had the right amount of crunch to them-not the break your teeth kind of crunch. As for my dish, I thought the rice was great. The white cheese on top of the burrito fajita was wonderful. There was waaaaay too much side salad (all lettuce and one slice of tomato), and veggies within my burrito fajita. I got maybe three small bites of steak whereas the rest was all peppers and onions. They could've listed this burrito fajita as a vegetarian option due to how many veggies were packed in there. The steak was fantastic though when I did manage to get a bite of it. One thing that I had to ask for was my guac...HOW COULD ANYONE FORGET THE GUAC?! It was listed as a part of my dish on the menu, but I didn't get a single dollop of it on my plate. When I asked my waiter about it, he grabbed a menu and checked to make sure there was guac in what I ordered. Sure enough, there was, so he went and got me a little bowl of guac. The guac wasn't as flavorful as I'd hoped it would be, but hey, guac is guac. The service at Anejos could have been better...I feel like the staff should know what is all included in each individual dish to save time and maintain professionalism. Our waiter mumbled a lot, so we found ourselves having to ask for clarification quite a bit. Heads up: If you come in for lunch, all of the entrees on the lunch menu are now $8.99. This changed from their previous menu that is posted on their current website.

Yelp
Uninspiring food - inconsistent customer service. Having lived on both sides of the border, I have experience with both authentic and Americanized Mexican food. Neither of which Añeos does exceptionally well. While we have visited on multiple occasions, a recent visit solidified our resolve to never go back. While more "traditional" meals are on the menu, the delivery/preparation of the food is lazy and uninspiring. The quality of food is literally just a bit better than one might find at the drive through late night tex mex chain. Likewise, the service frequently leaves much to be desired. If you find yourself in that part of the area, save yourself some time and money and visit another location.
google avatar

Sarah S.

Yelp
The food was great we tried the new queso fries and they were a little too greasy but still good. The service was bad but it was a Friday night and they seemed understaffed.
google avatar

Evan S.

Yelp
My only complaint is it's a little expensive, but the food is fresh and delicious. Best chips and salsa in town.
google avatar

Vishal S.

Yelp
This little restaurant is actually very cozy and very clean. The salsa and chips are awesome; and everything that we ordered on our lunch menu was fantastic, I don't usually eat at Mexican restaurants...I'm not a big fan but the customers that I was with really wanted to go here and swore by the quality of the food and price. They were correct good price ,good food, good living!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Super disappointed in our dining experience at Anejos. There was nothing "Fine" about the food or drinks. If you are going to call your establishment "Fine" then perhaps you should at a minimum create your own margaritas from scratch. There are at minimum three maybe four ingredients in a classic margarita and it's almost shameful to serve an obviously store bought concoction of the drink. Super sad. I didn't even finish it. The chips.. come on. Warmed processed chips.. really? What is "Fine" about serving warmed chips out of a bag? I'm not even sure the guacamole was homemade. I ordered the steak fajita and honestly i probably have had better steak at Chipotle. I know that St. Cloud isn't exactly the Mecca of good cuisine but this place sorely missed the mark. I ended up leaving dinner early due to a super upset stomach and that's never happened to me before. In summary that a hard pass on this place.

Yelp
I LOVE ANEJOS. One of my favorite restaurants in the St. Cloud area. The food is consistently good and the service is great. The atmosphere here really makes it though. Clean, well decorated, welcoming environment. Go here for good Mexican food!
google avatar

Sherrie B.

Yelp
Best Mexican food in the area! Great service at this family owned restaurant. Our favorites are the shredded beef chimichanga and the seafood molcajetes. We dine here at least every month and always have a great experience!!!

Sam S.

Yelp
I have always gone to yelp when finding a place to eat but since moving to MN I realized I can't trust Yelp reviews anymore. I am a big foodie and moving to this area has honestly been tough for me. I tried Añejos around 3 times and there is nothing authentic about it. I will give them credit for their salsa, that is pretty good but everything else is pretty tasteless. Their queso had no flavor at all.
google avatar

Nate N.

Yelp
Slow service. We came after work for drinks and dinner, but the service was so spotty and slow we didn't even have the option to order food. The drinks were good- when they came. Won't be back. If you are reading this, choose somewhere else.

Yelp
Favorite Mexican Cuisine restaurant around. Their cheese dip is to die for, and their Margaritas are perfect.

Yelp
Not great! Went there for lunch. Arrived about 12:15. Was seated without a warm greeting. Ordered our food which was "plunked" down on our table without even a friendly smile, like we were bothering them. Food was underwhelming. My wife ordered the chicken fajita. She had diarrhea the next day. Don't go there for lunch. Service is nil.

Yelp
Not the experience or the level of service they used to be. Asked multiple times for waters and they never came. Tried to use a coupon and they said we couldn't use it because someone else in our party of 9 had already used a coupon--even though we later found out that that first coupon wasn't honored or applied to the bill! On top of all that, you used to get a free meal if it was your birthday. Now, you just get fried ice cream--if they remember to bring it out to you. The one positive is that the food comes out quickly.

Liz S.

Yelp
Best Mexican food in St. Cloud and best margarita I've had and it's my go to drink. Food is authentically Mexican. Loved the free chips and salsa at the table all fresh and fantastic!

Emily B.

Yelp
The food was so so good and the staff was amazing! Such sweet and kind people-I highly recommended going! Such a heart warming environment:) I can't wait to go back!

L G.

Yelp
Amazing new drink for Cinco de Mayo (limited time only). Margarita sampler of three of their fresh fruit flavors (mango, lime, strawberry). Best drinks in town. Not even a contest.

Sheila M.

Yelp
Great Mexican restaurant. We come from the Southwest part of the USA where great Mexican restaurants are everywhere. Anejos is in that class. Great food and atmosphere at both locations . Pleasant and friendly service. Fried ice cream always a favorite. We always enjoy meeting our friends & family there, and Anejos always is very accommodating! That's why everyone always agrees it's a favorite place to get together.

Yelp
Really great food and very nice interior ambiance. I love mexican food and by far this is the best I have tasted in the St. Cloud/Sartell area. Definitely will be going back!
