A Venezuelan restaurant with delicious steak, served with vegetables. If you want side dishes, there’s an additional charge. The calamari is excellent—crispy, well-seasoned, and flavorful. They also serve cocktails; we tried the Moscow Mule, and it was really good! #TravellingAsACouple

Absolutely amazing! Jaime was a wonderful host for us. The food was immaculate, gorgeous both visually and to taste. Perfect flavour and portion sizes, great value for money in a beautiful atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back here again and bring more friends!

Stumbled upon this place as it was near where we stayed. Tried Venezuelan food for the first time, but it might also be the last. The flavors didn’t impress me—the food lacked seasoning and wasn’t what I expected. While the steak was cooked nicely, the bread or wraps weren’t to my taste. The drinks tasted off, and the service was disappointingly slow.

Amazing Service! Angie was fantastic! Attentive, friendly, and made our dining experience at Angel Falls exceptional. She went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. Highly recommend her service!

Google
My fam and I enjoyed our dinner here. We ordered tenyup, chicharon and empanada. The food was fresh and the service of one the wait staff was top tier. She was very accomodating and no matter how busy the restaurant is she keeps on smiling.

Google
For the food very overpriced for what you got, ordered a variety of dishes and platers nothing stood out, the sweet potato chips were good and crispy, the other ingredients werent amazing enough to charge that price. We had a reservation and from the moment we got there felt like the waitress were rushing us to order and get out. Not the best experience. Would not eat there again.

We (2 first-timers here) had the angel falls steak cachapas and pumpkin salad with chips as sides. All dishes were delicious and in large portions. The staff, Giovanni (always with a smile), was very friendly and patient in explaining the menu and setting up the table on the terrace. He checked in with us regularly to confirm the food was fine. Overall, a very pleasant experience with welcome staff. Highly recommended.

Found this place by chance, being close to where we stayed at. Great food - very happy with a shared plate with various meats. The steak was cooked to perfection. Nice drinks and appetizers as well. I'd come back again!

Yelp
Hands down the best meal I had in Perth. The steak was cooked to perfection and the flavor was so incredible. I will definitely come back before I head back to the United States.

Yelp
The arepas and conchapas are addicting and filling. They are always busy, make a reservation.

Yelp
My partner is coeliac and we always struggle to find decent places that can accommodate him. I 100% recommend Angel Falls Grill. Firstly, an excellent location close to parking. We sat outside with the fairy lights and enjoyed a perfect Spring evening. We ordered the Croquetas de Maíz, Araguaney Board, side of coleslaw and sweet potato fries. We couldn't finish it all and the staff provided take away boxes. I cannot stress enough how amazing the food was. The staff were friendly, very accommodating and were teaching us Venezuelan words :) We will be regulars for sure!

Yelp
An enjoyable and somewhat unique restaurant. Went on a Monday night, not very crowded and actually closed early due to the lack of traffic. That said, was pleased with the meal. We ordered a platter for two (not sure of the specific name, but it was the Triple... and the most expensive). Reasonably priced and included a ton of meat. My favorites were the rump steak (much better than what I would expect of rump steak) and lamb chops (they called lamb ribs). Both had a Smokey taste that was very nice. Rather than one or two pieces of lamb, there were four for each of us. The steak was also a nice size. Also came with chicken, which was fine but it was still chicken, a very nice South American sausage and a blood pudding sausage. With the latter, while I like blood pudding on an English breakfast, this was a lot of blood pudding and you need to be a fan. A surprising treat were the sweet potato fries, they were great (and crispy, often an issue wiht sweet potato). While this was a lot of food for two people, had also ordered a couple other things that I would recommend. As a starter (though had it served with the platter), had mixed Arapas and their other Venezuelan speciality (forgot the name, maybe Chiapas). It was interesting and a nice new taste, especially the ones that were pancake like. Also highly recommend ordering a side of the fried plain tails, they probably were my favorite part of the meal. Sweet and caramelized, perfect accompaniment. Overall, large and tasty meal.

Yelp
The only Venezuelan restaurant in Perth. A must visit for the jaded foodie who feels like they're "tried it all". Go for their mixed platters to try a bit of everything. Both the rosés on the wine menu go down very nicely! Meat is their speciality, with many smoked and prepared over many hours. The whole menu is gluten-free, as Venezuelan cuisine is gluten-free by nature, as everything is based around using corn not wheat flour. A lot of people don't realise they are open for brunch Friday-Sunday too, not just lunch and dinner.

Rie L.

Yelp
the food was very average for what they are charging and staff don't speak Englis. the guy recommended the dishes for entree were the same for mains this is all by waiter recommendation. there are much nicer steak restaurant. unfortunately this was the only place had bookings now I know why the good places were fully booked. I would stay away from this restaurant!!

Yelp
Angel Falls Grill is the first Venezuelan restaurant in Perth, located on Shafto Lane. It's not a huge restaurant and but the food that they were pumping out and the happy spirit of the staff made the atmosphere really different from other businesses around it. Bonus: all of their dishes are Gluten-Free (GF) and carnivores will have a real treat with the meat degustation dish at Angel Falls Grills. The name Angel Falls was inspired by the world's highest uninterrupted waterfall in Venezuela with the height of 979 metres from a table-top mountain called Auyantepui. Gilda and Sergio who own Angel Falls Grill put a wall to wall photo of this waterfall at the back of their restaurant. We went in a group of 6 people and seated at the high table. Venezuelan cuisine definitely has a lot of plantain, beans and corn. After browsing through the menu and saw that we liked everything (but surely couldn't order everything in the menu), we asked Gilda for recommendations. Straight away she smiled and arranged a platter of entrée for us which consisted of empanadas, arepas and toston. The Empanadas' skin was formed really well and very easy to eat. I got to try the shredded beef with black beans and feta which was a perfect combination as well as the cheddar and feta. Even though it was called 'mini', the size of the Empanadas was really good. Toston was South American green plantain and delicious shredded beef, an ingredient which was used a lot in Latin American cooking. All of the Toston came with feta cheese topping, it reminded me of mini nachos. The Arepas which was quite small in size was a really great snack and it was packed with flavour too! We also tried some Cachapas which was a delicious pancake made of polenta. Growing up I ate a lot of sweet corn fritters so eating Cachapas gave me a very nostalgic feeling. It was delicious and my favourite would be the Pabellon with feta, shredded beef and black beans filling! The greenie was another one that I like since the light filling which consisted of feta, avocado and tomatoes. Since Angel Falls is a specialised in Venezuelan grill meat, everyone at our table decided to try the Tepuy Degustation. We chose this simply because it sounded more exotic than the Big Grill (hahaha). Tepuy Degustation came with 450gr of all cuts of beef which are Lomito (tenderloin), Punta (rump), Solomo served together with morcilla (blood sausage), chorizo, ripe plantain, mini arepas (yes, the more the merrier), congri (rice and black beans) and guasacaca (avocado salsa) sauce. Phew, it was a very good introduction to Venezuelan grilled meats! We barely had enough room for dessert but we were so keen to taste what Angel Falls could offer us. So we ordered the Three Milk Cake, golden Quesillo (yummy caramel flan), Fruity Cachapa and Mini Cake. Warning: the three milk cake was really delicious and spongy but the size was quite huge and it's advisable to share instead of ordering one for yourself. I really like the Fruity Cachapa which wasn't too heavy on the tummy and also because it combined together the sweetness of polenta with some refreshing fruits (banana and strawberries). There is a sauce that you definitely have to order when you dine at Angel Falls Grill and it's AFG's Venezuelan Chili Kick sauce. Everyone at the table wanted to get a small bottle of this sauce but unfortunately they didn't have it for sale (yet) ;-). Live music is also available every weekend and if you're looking for a friendly good night out, Angel Falls Grill is a highly recommended place to go to.

Yelp
Arepa! Arepa! Venezuelan cuisine has arrived in Perth - and now I know where to feed my plantain chips addiction. Plus - every single thing on the Angel Falls Grill menu is gluten-free! **throws corn kernels in the air and does a dance** If you'ver never had an arepa - I am so excited for you! It's a grilled white corn flatbread that is stuffed pita pocket style with a myriad of tasty toppings. I made my own variation with shredded chicken, grilled zucchini, black beans, avocado and the holy grail of jazzed up fillings - South American fried plantains. I discovered these babies in Denver, Colorado (of all places) and they are ripe green deep-fried bananas that are only edible when cooked. My arepa was a magnificent, textured meal that checks off savoury, sweet, salty and stupidly delicious. Please Angel Falls Grill, rename this custom arepa The Andjelka! Venezuelan food is allergy friendly and suits meat lovers and vegetarians. The other speciality is a 'cachapas' pancake made of sweet corn kernels. My suggestion is to make it rain with toppings like grilled mushrooms, shredded beef, halloumi, grilled eggplant and housemade sauces. They also do other legendary sides like morzilla (black puddings), yuca (cassava) chips and empanadas. Don't forget to ORDER PLANTAINS WITH EVERYTHING, and we can be friends. The owner told me the plantains are flown in as it is impossible to grow and source fresh plantains in Australia. Normally I am not a fan of frozen overseas produce, but this is the one occasion where it is worthy as the plantains have a lot of flavour and a ripe texture. Situated in heart of the city in Shafto Lane, Angel Falls Grill is my discovery of the month/year. I wish arepas were one of those mythical negative calorie meals because I would eat a dozen, and I'll be back to do just that.

Yelp
I've been here three times - twice for dinner and once for breakfast and the reason I keep returning is that the food is just so tasty! If you've never tried Venezulan food you're in for a treat. My favourite are the cachapas which are corn type pancakes which are completely gluten free. They're juicy and tasty filled made with fresh bursting corn and then topped with your choice of toppings. I would have them for breakfast and dinner if I could...wait I've already done that! The breakfast ones come with butter and jam and can be taken away but are best eaten steaming hot! Check this place out but be sure to make a booking in advance as this place gets packed!

Melissa K.

Yelp
This is the only Vanezuellen food that I've ever tried and it suits my tastebuds like it. Their service is good and food are tasty! I will return again for more.

Alexandra B.

Yelp
Wow. If I could rate this higher than 5 stars, I would! First time ever trying Venezuelan cuisine. I know, I know, Venezuelan in Australia? I was surprised too! But after hearing everything on the menu is naturally gluten free (celiac checking in) and rave reviews on their steak, I had to check it out. Especially since the name reminded me of Disney's Up! :) I walked into the alley-way restaurant and was greeted with a huge smile. The owner took my takeout order and was the friendliest, nicest guy ever! Super clean, relaxed atmosphere. There are so many awesome options on the menu. This time, I opted for the "Mar y Tierra" aka Surf n Turf with rice instead of chips. The steak was cooked PERFECTLY to medium rare. And the shrimp/squid/octopus combo was divine! This was honestly the best dish I've ever had. At $36, it was worth every penny. My tastebuds are still speechless. New favorite spot in Perth? Possibly the world? That's a resounding HECK YES. TLDR: incredible tasty food, unique cuisine in the heart of Perth, friendly service, amazing atmosphere. GO NOW!

Marcelo R.

Yelp
I tried "Pinchos" and "Empanadas". Food was good and I think it is a nice place to have some Venezuelan cuisine taste in Perth. Also, I drank an Aguila beer from Colombia which is light blonde beer. It is ok beer. I will be back there I have the chance.

Sue C.

Yelp
Never had Venezuelan food before but after the reviews we thought "why not" and not disappointed at all....absolutely delicious.....shared a mix plate for 4 from the menu and added empanadas ....ALL was excellent ...

Roger M.

Yelp
I had to travel all the way to Perth to eat the best cachapa outside of Venezuela that I have tasted so far. Amazing place, great service. A little piece of my land, down under !!!

Rain B.

Yelp
Brilliant! We walked in off the street and had a delightful meal here. Staff friendly and helpful, beautifully presented and delicious tasting meal. 1st time we had tried Venezuelan food and would return.

Tania R.

Yelp
I am Latin and I tried this restaurant twice before I found where to buy my own ingredients, the Venezuelan food is not bad, the patacones and empanadas are not even close to what you will find in Colombia (there are new and great Colombian restaurants now). The sizes are very small and the prices very high. Staff is nice and helpful. I would go back only for the cachapas.

Alison S.

Yelp
I'd heard great things about this place and I wanted to love it unfortunately it didn't quite live up to that reputation. The food was good and there is a surprisingly large choice for vegetarians for a South American restaurant The service wasn,'t great and we had to hunt someone down to ask how much we should order. We'd booked ahead for relatively early on a Wednesday but the table for 4 we were given was cramped to say the least one food arrived ( we didn't over order but it is a share plate/ tapas type of place) I felt prices were steep for some things, $10 for yuca fries sounds ok but I'd expected more than 5 chips for that! The tres leche cake is amazing but very rich so yummy might need to bring a friend and share

Teresa L.

Yelp
Lovely decor and ambience. Delicious, interesting and substantial meat dishes - we had the pabellon, parrilla, asado negro and the pumpkin salad between four of us girls. A plain old great way to catch up. Would come again, thank you!!

Alex M.

Yelp
Arepas con nata (sour cream) and Pabellon. Shredded beef, black beans, plantain. So delicious! Some "Venezuelan Chilli kick" on the side. And such fast friendly service. So glad that this end of town now has some Latino flavours. Do yourself a flavour and try this new little gem in Shafto Lane! #pertheats

Yelp
My partner and I joined in on a regular Yelp Perth dinner. We decided to come along for Venezuelan because of an upcoming South America trip. We weren't disappointed - either with the event or the choice of venue. 'Angel Falls' is tucked away on Shafto Lane. The perfect location to start your evening. The venue itself is small and open, serving moderately priced drinks and food as well as Venezuelan Rum. We tried deep-fried empanadas, both vying for the beef. Delicious. We tried the AFG mains, namesake of the venue, and an oportunity to try a variety from Venezuela. My favourite was the beef. The chicken was undercooked (pink), but not bad enough to send it back. The service was lovely and friendly. My cerveza (beer) was always replenished promptly, and served cold with lemon. I had the Pabellon Arepa. My first time. Delicious soft flat bread made from white corn. Eaten like a soft shell taco with shredded beef, rice, black beans, feta. We ordered fried plantanes to share as well. Oh, for dessert we had the simple three milk cake. OMG. The portions. Big serve of cake. Big serve of icecream. Unfortunately the icecream was more ice than cream, but the cake was fantastic. Overall we had a great night, with good food, excellent service (split billing made it easy), and fantastic local Perth (Yelp) company. Do try AFG if you're in the neighbourhood.

Kris C.

Yelp
I had the Angel Falls Cachapas, and it was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. The restaurant is situated in an alley among other bars and eateries and had a nice lively but intimate atmosphere. The waitstaff was very helpful. Will definitely go back soon.

Alfred B.

Yelp
Relatively new restaurant in Shafto Lane specializing in Venezuelan cuisine...probably a first for Perth. As with all South American restaurants there is an emphasis on meat meat and more meat...but beautifully tender and succulent. They also serve up the classic flatbread arepas made from white corn...great for gluten-free diets!..and cachapas a pancake made from sweet corn. Plantains also are a must in this cuisine and they fly them in specially. The avocado sauce guasacaca somewhat different to guacamole is also a must try. Small wine list but with some good selections available. Angel Falls is a fine addition to the dining scene and well worth checking out.

Lizzie N.

Yelp
How Yummy!! Great address! Very tasty meat in a great atmosphere! The service was absolutely wonderful! We really enjoyed your night there. Will definitely come back.

Red B.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, lovely staff. Not too noisy. Tapas style at its best. Roughly $10 a dish which was plenty to share. We had 10 dishes altogether, when we left we were very full, and yummy. Definitely come back again.

Will H.

Yelp
Went there with some work friends for lunch on a Friday. Menu is a bit confusing but we were keen for an adventure. Food took awhile to come out and our meals was served either cold or lukewarm. We weren't sure whether they were they were meant to be or not. Quite small serving sizes for the price. We will try it again once it is more established, but not impressed initially.

Jamie S.

Yelp
Extremely rude waiter. We had a booking and we sat down and we were belittled by the waiter who asked us if we were intoxicated - on a Friday night! Really not impressed as this place is next to an Irish pub, in a vibey part of the CBD. Tried twice to get a booking here only to be rejected by the rude staff after I'd booked online and even called to let them know we were late. Extremely rude. Who cares about the food, I'm not interested in eating at an establishment like this.

Gav C.

Yelp
The food was fantastic, live music great but a bit loud to hear! Black pudding tasty, pinchos great, we'll be back!

Vanessa R.

Yelp
Perth's only Venezuelan restaurant! If you love smoked meats go check this place out. The whole menu is Gluten Free too! Really tasty side dishes to accompany the flavour packed meats!

Wayne T.

Yelp
Friendly staff, good venue, delicious different cuisine...good for 2 or group...even great for brekky different than the normal bacon n eggs selection

Indy F.

Yelp
Angel Falls Grill is such a wonderful addition to the other dining establishments in Shafto Lane. It prides itself on being the first Venezuelan restaurant in Perth and is an ideal choice for breakfast, lunch or after work drinks and dinner. Fellow Yelpers, my girl and I got together for an impromptu dinner and certainly enjoyed the experience. The food is made using traditional family recipes and seasonal ingredients. There are arepas and cachapas on offer, the difference being the arepas are deep fried and the cachapas are not. I love cachapas and the ones at Angel Falls Grill are the best I have tasted. The cachapa is a delicious corn pancake bursting with flavour. I would be happy to have it plain, it is so good. However, I had the Angel Falls cachapa filled with tender rump cap, tomato, haloumi and avocado with a serve of delicious plantains. It has been such a long time since I enjoyed eating plantains, I enjoyed every last mouthful! There is so much that I want to try on the menu, I will definitely be going back for more! Angel Falls is a parilla (grill), so make sure you try some of the grilled meats, all South Americans are famous for being masters of the grill. The desserts are tempting, I especially love the Tres Leche (Three milks) cake, a real sweet treat! Recently we called in for breakfast and enjoyed a serve of cachapas with jam and butter. It was such a refreshing change from a traditional breakfast. Certainly added some pop into my day! For such $6 per serve of cachapas it was a steal! The cocktails are amazing and so far I have enjoyed the strawberry daiquiri and the mojito! The service was attentive and friendly. The lovely young waitress attending to us was engaging and ever so patient. Hasta luego (see you soon) Angel Falls!

Roger R.

Yelp
Thank good for the above average food. Service was very average. Little effort here. The biggest issue was attitude. 1 star for service 2 stars for food. Such a shame.

Rose G.

Yelp
First time eating Venezuelan, loved it! The black stew was my favorite and the sangria it the spot!

Jarrad W.

Yelp
I had a craving for a good steak and what I got was mouthwateringly delicious. Well done Angel Falls. The service was friendly, prompt and the food was excellent. I ordered the porterhouse which was melt-in-mouth and seasoned beautifully. The side of Chorizo has to be one of the top 5 Chorizos I've ever eaten and they are a main stay of many of my breakfasts and market hunts. They also had a range of South American beers which were good as well. Will be definitely coming back.

Mel S.

Yelp
So sad good food and still busy when we left but really......turning off the coffee machine at 9.15pm on Friday night so you cant have a coffee after your meal. WHY?????? It is an extension of my pet hate of restaurants starting to close and pack up when you are half way through your meal. Why bother offering a table at all. It is the equivalent of a taxi dropping you off 1km short of your destination. I dont know why we tolerate this. Was a repeat customer but very reluctant to go again

A C.

Yelp
Had the domino vegetarian arepas. The black bean and rice combined with the mushroom and avacado was absolutely amazing. A must if you are downtown Perth.

Daniel M.

Yelp
Always the best meats in Perth always the best service in Perth. Since they opened I have sent clients and business associates and all confirmed Angel Falls has the best meats in town.

Gemma E.

Yelp
This little gem in Shafto Lane was an unexpected delight. Friendly Service which coped with our group of 7 with a positive attitude. Cocktails hit the mark. The Venezuelan food was simple and delicious. Share plates recommended. Highlights -the Canaima had a very unexpected smoky tender beef, awesome. The Pabellon with shredded pork and beans also good. The food arrived promptly and I will definitely try it again. The Queso was less successful and the chips slightly greasy. Try it and enjoy it.
