Google
A great old school Italian spot for dinner. We had the chicken Anthony and the eggplant parm. We also had the artichoke and spinach app and the key lime pie for dessert. Everything was delicious and the place feels so nostalgic. Especially for an Italian American from northern NJ. Loved it and when I'm down South Jersey again will definitely come here.

Google
This place was amazing! Food was not only delicious but affordable and with big portions. Family restaurant with patrons coming here for 60 years. The house wine was perfect with our meal. This was by far the best part of our trip to AC!

Enjoyed a big portion of stuffed rigatoni with meat sauce and some great colleagues at a work event on 6/7/25. Our server was solid and as good as they come. Inside was a bit dated and surprisingly us as a group of 8 walked right in on a Friday night and got a table within minutes so they were not busy at all.

Google
wow wow wow! i cannot wait to come back here. the food was outstanding. if you order anything, make sure you choose something in the lobster sauce. the fish special normally is served in that or the lobster ravioli is a home run.

Google
I love their marinara sauce (chunky and tasty and lots of good natural tomato flavors and onion). The food is good and plenty. The sampler appetizer was fun with spicy ravioli, mozzarella sticks, and shrimp. The calamari was lightly enough battered and again good sauce. The meatball was a bit overdone and had a smoky taste to it but it was big and plenty. The pasta with clams had a lot of clams just not a lot of sauce. I would have loved the red marinara sauce on my pasta with clams. The cheese on the chicken parmigiana was really good and the chicken was well done. Overall I love the sports memorabilia and decorations and the home feel of the place. Free parking lots (2 lots) so no worries about driving. Free side salad that comes with lemon vinaigrette dressing so if you don’t like dressing the way they add it, ask for it on the side. I didn’t know so I had to drain the large amount of dressing in water. Most main dishes are starting at $20 to $30. Light and fluffy Italian bread as a free appetizer and that was good. Plenty of leftovers to take home.

Google
Nice casual cozy atmosphere that has the feeling of the neighbourhood Italian restaurant with lots of pictures and memories on the walls. It also has a casual bar which is usually packed on the weekends. The service is friendly and just right. Attentive but not invasive. Dinner starts with warm bread and a nice salad with a house dressing which is perfect. We have visited several times and have tried a variety of dishes. The food is always good. We never let disappointed! One of our favourite places.

Google
Can't say enough amazing things about Angelo's Fairmount Tavern in Atlantic City! Not only was the food delicious but the staff who worked my bridal shower were so attentive and helpful through out the party. The bartender was awesome and made great drinks all afternoon. My guests were blown away by the spacious room and its awesome dance floor. If you are looking to host a party, bridal shower, private dinner etc. make sure to check them out!!! Cant wait to go back and eat here again soon

Google
Truly had a phenomenal evening here for one of our best friends. The food was great especially the veal parmigiano with gnocchi. The ambience is great. The staff was great. 10 out of 10 would love to come back again soon!

Yelp
The food was absolutely amazing great drinks. the entire staff was great. It's a really cool old school restaurant they don't make them like this anymore. Don't skip desert they are all delicious.

Yelp
OG Italian Atlantic City Classic, the food was pretty good but my dish with a Lemon Butter sauce lacked much flavor so I had to ask my server for lemon wedges and had to sprinkle some salt on it to make it come alive. The salad that came with it was fresh and delicious. Gotta say, if you order ANY of their Chicken Cutlet dishes, make a "mini-sandwich" of it with the small Italian bread rolls they give you. It was NEXT LEVEL that way! The staff is professional and most have probably been working there for awhile, I was a first timer and would've appreciated a more welcoming experience. But I kind of felt as if I was having dinner at a diner - there's nothing particularly special about this place, no Italian music or Italian feeling and that's what I was hoping for. All in all, I'd go back but if you're looking for something fun, eating at the bar is a bit boring and I'm used to a more "engaging" experience but few at Angelo's seemed too interested in engaging, it looked like they were eager to just get back home. No one asked how I liked my meal. I felt like I was just served. Fed. And given a bill at the end. No vibe. It could be sooo much better and what they need to fix is so easy!

Yelp
classic italian red sauce joint since 1935 best in AC don't miss the specials snag a mix of land & sea and different sauces dessert italian coffee to finish great service and ambiance

Yelp
In New Jersey where Italian food is king, how is it possible that Angelo's is rated so highly? This may have been the worst italian food I've ever eaten. The complimentary salad is dripping in dressing that is mostly vinegar. The clams oreganata were nothing but burnt breadcrumbs. The biggest disappointment was the veal chop that I requested as parmagiana. The veal was fatty. The chop was drowned in salty but otherwise tasteless red sauce with way too much mozzarella on top. Do yourself a favor and eat elsewhere!

Yelp
Classic Italian. Great service. Bread, salad, soup. Leave some room for pasta entrees. Great experience for large family group.

Yelp
I was in Atlantic City for a work convention and didn't want to eat in the Casino. My lovely lady wanted Pasta so we decided to go here. I hadn't been here in many years but it was just as I remembered . We put our name in and had a seat at the bar while we waited. She had the dirty martini and I had a rum and Coke. I ordered the chicken Anthony and she had the Vodka Penne. We got a carafe of the house red and we both got the house salad and bread. The wine worked for us both. Not too dry, but not too sweet. The house salad was good and came with the house Italian dressing. The main dishes came and my Chicken Anthony had two chicken breast covered in lump crab and provolone cheese over capellini in a Rosa sauce. It was really good. She loved her penne and the grated cheese was more like little pellets than a grated powder. It was all very good. We shared the layered chocolate cake and it was a perfect ending. The table next to us got the scallops and I was jealous. I love scallops but you normally only get a few, but his dish had about a dozen! I'm definitely going back for them!

Yelp
I REALLY had some high hopes and wanted to love this place but it just didn't hit the mark for me. Service was great, ambiance even better. It was homey vibes, very old school and the house red was just right. The food was just very bland, the meatball was a bit too fried for me. I would go back and try something else, but out of all the food we had - nothing wowed us. Clams in a white (Alfredo sauce) Eggplant Florentine Stuffed Rigatoni in a blush sauce (bland) Lasagna with Sausage (good, lots of meat)

Yelp
A landmark in Atlantic City, and definitely has that Italian restaurant ambiance. Free parking available in a town where parking is a premium. Great food served really fast, and a traditional family-style salad for everyone. Plus, they can handle large parties. The service and the food met all my expectations, but at $40 at least per person, perhaps I expected a little more.
google avatar

J T.

Yelp
Service wasn't great, they also packed our group into a small room with some other large groups so it was hard to hear. Food however was excellent, definitely recommend the lasagna and the pistachio tiramisu for dessert
google avatar

Yelp
Old school. Cozy. Warm. Inviting. Friendly. EVERYTHING you would want in an Atlantic City Italian restaurant. The original restaurant was added on to many times, resulting in cozy, warm little dining spaces. The cheese ravioli was flavorful, fresh, and clean tasting. The calamari was crispy and tender. The service was second to none. The only disappointment is that we didn't have time to go back a second time, but we joked that we would go back to AC just to eat at Angelo's again.

Yelp
Great cozy Italian food with wonderful portion sizes. We stopped by after finishing shopping at the outlet mall and this place was a godsend. I got the chicken francaise with pasta and it was awesome. Came with bread, salad, and was a damn fine meal. The bartender who attended to us was very nice. My partner got the vegetarian spaghetti marinira and she also loved it. Definitely attend for a great Sunday family dining experience! Do attend

Yelp
*This review specifically pertains to hosting a banquet at Angelo's.* Despite being a south Jersey native my entire life, I had never been to the iconic Angelos Fairmount Tavern. So when my mother decided to have our family reunion luncheon here in June, I was so excited to finally be able to experience it. She booked the banquet facility site unseen, so when we arrived to set up we didn't know what to expect. After being led through a maze of rooms and up a few flight of stairs we arrived in our party room, which was filled with natural light, tables were set with silk floral centerpieces, and the servers were ready to assist. Denise and Barbara were so helpful the entire time. We started with the mussels and roasted peppers with provolone. Bread was brought to all tables and our family loved the mussels. I personally don't eat them, but the peppers were a great start. House salads were served family style, but I was too busy socializing to have any. My husband and mother said it was very good. Our family had a selection of four entrees, all served with pasta. I opted for the chicken parm, which was your classic style chicken parm served with linguini. A cash bar was provided right in the banquet room and there was plenty of space for our family to take a large family photo. Cannoli and coffee was also served for dessert and there was no cake cutting fee for the cake we brought. I would highly recommend hosting an event at Angelo's if you're looking for an affordable Atlantic City venue.

Yelp
If you ever go to Atlantic City, you need to eat at Angelo's Fairmount Tavern! This is the best Italian restaurant around! Angelo's has been around since the 1930s -- and there's a reason why... because it's amazing! There's so much history at this restaurant, it's a very homey, historic vibe, and the food is fantastic and authentic! Our server, Lisa, was actually the 4th generation of the original family and she was so attentive and knowledgeable! It also doesn't hurt that the prices were very good for the quality of food received. I definitely recommend the clams casino and broccoli rabe for an appetizer and the crab and pasta in scampi sauce as an entree!! 10/10.

Yelp
Was in on the Friday night going into Memorial Day Weekend. We were told there would be a 15 minute wait, but we were seated a couple minutes after arrival. Staff were friendly and our food and drinks came out promptly. The eggplant parm appetizer was good. I was expecting it to be breaded and lightly fried. Still recommend! I had the lasagna and meatball. It did not disappoint. The lasagna didn't fall apart as I cut into it. It had a good amount of meat. The sauce was nice. I saw reviews where the meatballs were mostly bread, but that wasn't the case with mine. My friend got fettuccine Alfredo and was pleased. I had a medical emergency during my visit causing me to temporarily lose consciousness. The staff acted extremely quickly, calling an ambulance immediately, and brought me what I needed in the couple minutes between me coming to and walking out to the EMTs/paramedics. A big thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who assisted! Go visit Angelo's! There's a reason they've been in business so long.

Yelp
We go here each year we come in for a cheer comp. Casino restaurants are crowded and overpriced. This restaurant has fair pricing, drinks are super cheap (Wine carafe is like $20) and the service is AMAZING. Especially the bar tender who interacted with our teenagers! They accommodated a party of 26 just days before our arrival. Communication via text which I appreciated. Atmosphere makes you feel like you're in a 1920's Italian Restaurant.

Yelp
Food needed seasoning. Staff was nice and I like the homey feel the place has but my Caesar salad tasted like nothing, and eggplant parm lacked flavor.

Yelp
This is actually a 3.5 score. 4 of us split order of meatballs and broccoli rabe for appetizers. Two meatballs but are very large so that was enough. They were good and moist. Not the best meatballs but worthwhile. The broccoli rabe we asked to add sausage to and it was very good and plentiful. Entrees were stuffed flounder which was good but a little dry. Good size portion. Broiled seafood combination which was described as very good, scallops were plentiful and very good. One entree of steak Angelo which was huge and our friend loved it. Service by Jordan was friendly and good. The place is noisy.

Yelp
Time to close Steak was literally raw. Requested in medium. Service non existent to have it sent back. Pasta was pizzeria like

Yelp
Came here while on a trip to Atlantic City and hands down it was one of the best meals we had. Angelo's has been in AC since 1935, so when something is around for that long it's always a good sign you're in for a great meal. When you walk in, it feels like you walked into a little neighborhood spot. It has a cozy feel to it which was so nice. Our server was amazing and gave us some great recommendations. We started the meal with the calamari. This is a must order. They are perfectly fried, not chewy and the sauce is so good. For dinner I went with a special that was salmon and shrimp over pasta in a lobster sauce. Holy cow this was to die for. My boyfriend got the lasagna and this totally hit the spot. It tasted great and I kept sneaking bites. If we were in AC longer we even talked about going back. Definitely hit up Angelo's if you're in town!
google avatar

Yelp
An amazing authentic Italian food restaurant in A.C. Food is prepared to order so service is relaxed. Enjoy the salad and bread while you wait. House wine is excellent! Veal parmigiana is a large portion and fried just right. Sauce/gravy is savory. Shrimp jammers as an appetizer is a great choice. When they have the Lobster Ravioli special be sure to order it. You get a lobster tail on top of the ravioli which has large chucks of crab meat in it as well!!! Large parties are accommodated with a reservation. Worth the trip and the wait perfect spot to start your A.C. Getaway.

David E.

Yelp
Possibly the meanest serving staff I've ever encountered. Fair warning on the weekends you can't order food at the bar, but you can't get it to go, which is what I chose to do. Because it was a 45 minute wait. Never got to order food the female bartender was SO efficient at rude I left immediately.
google avatar

Casey S.

Yelp
Came here tonight for a friend's bachelor dinner, had a great time. The food was great, everyone enjoyed their apps, and the place looked great with a nice bar area and our waitress Nicole was amazing. I didn't get to take photos of our food but here is us enjoying ourselves.
google avatar

Yelp
Still one of my fav's in AC! Came in to town and sure enough came right here. Food is good as always. Service was great like usual. Read my other review.

Kimberly H.

Yelp
My husband and I have been going to Angelo's for years. Sadly we've noticed the quality going down hill the last year or two. The bread we got was hard and clearly stale. The calamari was not bad but not great either. My husband got mahi mahi and it was super dry. As much as we love the atmosphere we probably won't be going back again.
google avatar

Yelp
I didnt get to snap off any picture and include but I am very adamant when I say GO HERE!!! GO HERE!!! GO HERE!!! Its an awesome snapshot of old Italian family restaurants. The food was outstanding and very ample for the price. I ordered a steak with lump crab meat on it. It was like $50 and was probably easily 1 1/2 inch thick new york strip with a bunch of lump crab meat and gorganzla cheese sauce on top. the crab meat was almost ridiculous how much was provided on the plate. Very impressed.
google avatar

KL C.

Yelp
We have passed this place for years, never trying it. Boy am I glad we finally tried it! This neat old restaurant has a lot of character. Quaint little dinning rooms make it cozy and charming. Our waitress was excellent as was the food! Portions were plentiful as I had enough for lunch the next day. We had pasta and chicken parmigiana. Don't worry, we'll be back Angelo!
google avatar

Abigail W.

Yelp
Be prepared to be sitting here, for a while waiting for everything. Large groups were all around us and it had to have been 40 minutes before drinks showed up. I was watching the tables around us when I noticed them finally getting their salad course we had been there an hour and that meant ours would have to eventually come out. What about this idea, cut out the salad course and just bring out dinner or apps people actually want. I will say though the salad dressing was delicious. Huge portions. Good sauce, needed a touch of salt. I got the chicken parm. Would I come back, probably not, but I enjoyed trying somewhere I haven't been before.

Jessica W.

Yelp
This was the worst italian food I have ever ate. The service was good, but the food was just disgusting. Definitely would not recommend

Yelp
We were looking for Italian the one night we were in Atlantic City. Read that Angelo's Fairmount was a great place to go. There was no wait and we were seated right away. When we walked in it looked a little dated, but that's OK if the food is great! Our waitress came over and asked us about drinks. We order some cocktails and mulled over the menu. They also brought a basket of seeded rolls. Our salads came with house dressing. I ate some of mine but stopped midstream because the cheese in the dressing overwhelmed me, but my daughter said she loved it so ate my portion. Was very fresh and delicious tho if you like cheese in your Italian dressing. Now came the entrees... I ordered Chicken Piccante and my daughter ordered Spaghetti and Meatballs. My Chicken Piccante...I took a chance of this as I usually order Piccata. I cut into the Chicken and it cut like pot roast. Stringy. Chicken that cuts stringy is cheap chicken. Ok. I can deal with that as long as the sauce was delicious. Nope.....I can make Piccata sauce in my sleep. This was nothing like it. Very weird taste, thick and slimy. It tasted like jarred sauce. I forced some down and left most of the plate. I didn't say anything about the entrée and our waitress never asked about why most of it was going back. My daughter ordered spaghetti and meatballs. Now I do have to say, as a cook, it is hard to get the perfect meatball. And then everyone has "their" idea on what the perfect meatball is. I prefer a meatball that has meat in in. She received one large meatball which, when she cut into it was all bread. I tasted it, and it tasted like all bread. She didn't care for the meatball. Her entrée was $20.50, mine was $27.50. $27.50! I realize this town deals with mostly tourists....but really? And above and beyond charging outrageous prices for sub par food, they charge you 3% if you pay be credit card! We paid $40.00 alone for alcohol (which they make a ton of money on) and they charge us 3% is pay for it with our credit card. That's called nickel and dimeing. I don't see anywhere where they disclose this except on your receipt "after" you have eaten. I have literally no idea why anyone would say this place is 5 stars...it must be a Jersey thing, but not for me. It's basically one of those "Oh great I just gave them a donation didn't I" occasions...

Tom R.

Yelp
I hadn't been here in quite some time but wanted to return. Glad I did as the food was outstanding. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Katelyn T.

Yelp
This place is always amazing! We got the zucchini appetizer and I typically hate zucchini but it was delicious! I also ordered the 10oz steak with shrimp and a baked potato. Since I was splitting it with my mom they gave us both 5oz steaks and pre split the food in the back which was really accommodating. The shrimp could have had a little more flavor but the steak and baked potato were delicious! The server was great as well! I always love coming here when in Atlantic City, Definitely reccomend!

David L.

Yelp
What can I say? This was an absolute surprise going to a conference in Atlantic City and stumbling across this place. I sat at the bar by myself had a couple glasses of wine some old-school food with a really cool bartender and very friendly patrons. I will take my wife back to this place as like I said it's old school, but it's in the middle of a lot of modern shopping.
google avatar

Todd C.

Yelp
Love coming here when I'm in Atlantic City. You get a salad with your dinner entree. Home made dressing is fantastic. Also get nice fresh rolls. My go to has usually been the chicken franchese. Your food will come out steaming hot. I'm always too full for dessert. This place is always busy and has been around forever. The staff is so friendly and accommodating There is plenty of parking

Yelp
BONUS‼ FREE Parking directly behind and across the street from Angelo's Food (large oysters on the half shell, clams oreganato, LobsterRavioli Special, delicious family style salad, huge portions of veal parm, chix Francaise, and sadly no room for dessert) Wine (Mark West Pinot Noir) Service (Lisa, and others) Ambiance (Traditional old-AC Italian restaurant, bustling with customers eager to dine here and share the entire experience) Need I say more?
google avatar

Yelp
The wait is worth it. Party of 7 and no one was disappointed. Steak, pasta, spinach/artichoke, spicy green beans, meatballs, salad... everything was amazing. Ask for the Jamaican coffee for dessert.

Yelp
This is such a great casual Italian place to go to. Portions are generous and delicious. We started with the fried calamari appetizer. Crispy on the outside and softvon the inside. Entrees come with pasta of choice. We had the chicken Anthony which is chicken topped with crab meat and provolone cheese in a blush sauce. I couldn't believe how much crab was on top. The blush sauce is like a light pink tomato cream sauce. We also had Terry's seafood medley. There is so much seafood on a huge bed of linguini. They did not skimp on the scallops either. The marinara sauce was light but you can taste the juices from the seafood in it. Both dishes delicious. They also give you a salad with homemade dressing served family style. We were so full. The only reason I am giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is because the salad took a very long time to come out. They may be because it was the day after Christmas and they may have been understaffed. Friendly service nonetheless. Also decent size private parking lot which is so convenient. Can't wait to go back! Worth leaving the casino for!

Barry S.

Yelp
Pretty good food, good service, reasonably priced. Nice portions. Old style Italian. I will return.
google avatar

Alex V.

Yelp
Very old school and very legit. We were waiting for an hour to get seated, but it was very much worth it. The service is impeccable, the plates are huge, and the decor creates the right mood. Each of us in our party of three said that that was one of the best classic Italian dinners we'd ever had.
google avatar

Joey G.

Yelp
This stuffed Rigatoni in a blush was delicious. This was very creamy and the Ricotta tasted very fresh unlike most restaurant where it tastes freezer burnt. The service was great and on the ball. Our waiter gave us a police and fire discount because a member of our party is a detective! The ambiance is old school themed with italian singers and italian known figures all pictures all over the walls. They even have a whole wall dedicated to the old school Yankees team. Overall great experience will definitely recommend!
google avatar

Susie K.

Yelp
This is a fun place for a group. It's a boisterous atmosphere, a little noisy for conversations, but A fun atmosphere. Our server was excellent, the salad, which came family style was very good. The appetizers were generous. The entree's were typical Italian fare.

Philip P.

Yelp
I wish there were negative stars to give this place, so one star it is. I arrive to the restaurant and was "greeted" by an unwelcoming hostess. Got told the wait was 40 minutes, it was beyond that. Went to the bar to wait for the table, my bartender alerted me that my buzzer was going off. (It wasn't) who am I to argue with someone who works there? Went to the hostess and got told with an attitude that it would consistently buzz when ready. When sat back at the bar, I was told by the bartender, if I tip the hostess, I would get sat faster. I had never been to a restaurant that was based off of bribes. If you visit bring cash I guess. Finally after waiting an hour and 30 minutes, I got sat in the LOUDEST room in the restaurant in the middle of constant flow of foot traffic. Immediately after being sat, my drinks and food order were put in right away. The appetizer came very swiftly. However, our main entrees (party of 2) took a full hour to come out. During this wait time, we were not checked up on even once. After the lengthy wait for our food, we got served. Unfortunately somehow got served at the same time as the party of 6 that was seated after us... the food was half decent but after being blatantly ignored and disrespected, I no longer had an appetite. The food was okay at best. Drinks were absolutely awful. Ordered a dirty martini, was unfamiliar that dirty stood for sewer water, as that is what it tasted like. I will never visit nor recommend visiting this establishment. Beware at all costs.

Yelp
Folks! Listen, I eat all over the country while traveling. We loved this place so much we came here twice in 3 days. Nicole was our server again and she is absolutely on point with service, a warm smile, helpful recommendations etc.. she knows her menu and helped us with making great choices. We had another bowl of garlic and my tastebuds were so happy!! We also had the tiramisu again, probably the best I've ever had in NJ.

Yelp
If you like old school Italian this is your place. From the setting to all the different rooms the pictures on the walls. Went on a Sunday night with my buddy. We were staying in Ventnor city which is 5 minutes away. The restaurant has a parking lot. We were told it would be a 30 minute wait. Which was accurate. Went to the bar. They have home made wine. Got a craft. A bit sweet. But it was pretty good. When we sat. We ordered the pizza special. It was decent. Shared a house salad. I ordered the lasagna. It was good. Very big portion. Very meaty. Our waitress was super nice. Prices very reasonable. Good experience. I would come back.

Yelp
The flounder francaise & cappuccino was really good and our waitress was very nice :)

Yelp
Came in on a Tuesday early evening...Spot on! No wait for us, perfect timing! Wanted to treat hubby tonight to his favorite dinner...meatball & spaghetti! So when asked where the best meatball resides...he & I both know it's here! I enjoyed the lasagna with a giant meatball. Salad & fresh warm rolls are included with all meals. Sam, our waiter was excellent in giving us quick service. Thank you Sam!! They offer many tasty desserts but this time, we passed as we were quite satisfied.

James O.

Yelp
We waited more than one and a half hours and were never seated at a table. We kept being told a table would be ready in 15 minutes but that never happened. Had to leave without being served. Worst experience ever and the bar tender was terrible. Do not go to this establishment.

Yelp
Came here right at opening with my fiancé and there was already a line to get inside! He recommended we go here so I thought we would give it a try, and I'm so glad we did. They brought us hot bread to start and strong drinks. Rhonda was extremely accommodating as a waitress, and brought us our food right away.
