Where to Eat, Drink, and Stay in Brisbane, Australia

"Born as a popular pandemic pop-up that became a permanent bakery in a heritage-listed cottage, famed for sought-after baked goods such as a burned-to-caramel Basque cheesecake and now evolving into an all-day café offering cooked-to-order dishes and salads alongside its pastries." - David Prior

Google
I stopped by Angie's Bake Shop & Cafe in Cold Springs, NY, and it’s a decent spot with a cozy vibe. I grabbed a sandwich, which looked good with fresh ingredients like tomatoes and mozzarella, but I was shocked at the price—$15! Honestly, that’s way overpriced for what it was. A sandwich like that should cost around $7, max. It felt like a rip-off. Also, the menu seems to focus entirely on fast food—sandwiches, pastries, and the like. There’s no real variety or healthier options like potatoes, meat, buckwheat, rice, or anything substantial. If you’re looking for a quick bite, it’s fine, but don’t expect a proper meal or fair pricing. And the are done have a restroom

Google
Their Fudge Muffin is the BEST! Rich, moist, and a fun crumble top- it’s amazing. This place is, in my opinion, the best cafe in Cold Spring! They have an amazing assortment of pastries, the staff is so friendly, and (if you come in the spring or summer) they serve Arnold Palmers- which makes the most refreshing post-hike drink!

Google
A cozy bite in Cold Spring, NY! ❄️✨ Stopped by Angie’s Bakery for a warm, homey treat—crispy ham sandwich & a gooey chocolate chip cookie 🍪🥪. The rustic charm + fresh-baked goodness? Unmatched. 🤤🔥 Totally worth the ~$20. If you’re ever in town, this spot is a must-visit! 🏡💛 📍Cold Spring, NY 💰 ~$20 for both 🍽️ Warm, rustic, & oh-so-cozy

Google
I loved Angie's Bake Shop and had a very nice pumpkin donut from here. I only wish I could've tried more items because unfortunately a lot of things were sold out, but I did come on a Saturday on a boat full of NYC tourists and also went here a little bit later than everyone else so that's likely the reason why. You'll probably get exactly what you want if you come on a weekday during normal hours or just beat the rush if you're visiting from NYC. According to the menu, the breakfast items like biscuits, scones, and muffins are only available from 9-11:30 so keep that in mind if you'd like to try them!

Google
I enjoyed a good lunch here with my family. The sandwiches were delicious and served on crisp baguette bread. We had our two year old with us and a woman who worked there loaned us a drawing tablet to keep her entertained. We really appreciated that and it made us feel welcome ❤️

Google
Chocolate chip cookie is good. Sandwiches are a bit hard to eat. Thick tomato slices and hard crust baguette.

Google
It’s always a treat to visit Angie’s. Great people and the food is excellent across the board. Don’t miss the chance to grab a casual lunch here when you visit Cold Spring. But most importantly, they sell probably the best chocolate chip cookie in the world. I’ve tried dozens (really!) from the top bakeries in NYC and they have nothing on Angie’s cookie. It deserves an award.

Google
Angie's Bake Shop is a charming cafe on the main street of Cold Spring! We stopped by to grab something warm on a cold day. I got hot chocolate and a chocolate chip cookie. The hot chocolate was sweetly thick and sublime with 2 puffy marshmallows, and the cookie was crisp and pleasantly fudgy. Definitely worth dropping by!

Yelp
I love this place! BEST red velvet cupcakes EVER! The chocolate chip cookies are to die for as well. While you're at it, grab a honey butter biscuit and iced coffee too. I'm glad I live an hour away. If I lived closer, I'd gain 10 pounds! Excellent service and sweet staff.

Yelp
Cute bake shop with a delicious selection no matter the time of day! I tried a sandwich, salad, cookie and a scone and I can't even pick a favorite as they were all amazing! Great and attentive staff. Tables inside and outside, however no restrooms. We even made it a point to visit a second time for their cinnamon rolls before heading home. 10/10 recommend!

Yelp
Nice spot, nice people, yummy sandwiches and baked goods. Great for a casual cafe dining experience.

Yelp
This bakeshop is exactly how you'd picture a bake shop out of a storybook. It's small and cute with some seating. I got the Pesto Sandwich with mozzarella and tomato. It was a pretty basic sandwich, but I really liked the bread. Considering that I visited in a group of 6, the staff got us our drinks immediately and baked goods/sandwiches without much of a wait.

Yelp
For a bakery, I'd expect better bread and desserts. A cute town so I was hoping the food would deliver as well. The chips were the best part. The turkey sandwich was ok. A little dry, the sauces I added on saved it. Average. The cookie was nothing special. Feels like I could make that quality - which isn't a compliment. Service wasn't particularly happy or welcoming.

Yelp
A small, cozy spot tucked into the Main Street of Cold Spring -- my go-to stop before hitting the hiking trails! They have a great selection of pastries and breakfast items -- their scone was DELICIOUS without being too dense, love the Honey Butter Biscuit too. It's totally worth swinging by!
google avatar

Natalie H.

Yelp
The pastries were amazing! The blueberry scone was moist on the inside, with gooey blueberries, fresh lemon zest, and the perfect hint of sweetness. The stuffed biscuit was crispy on the outside and stuffed with egg and ham on the inside. They were pretty large and very filling. Unfortunately, they don't have an espresso machine and only had brewed coffee, which wasn't great. There were a few tables inside and outside, but it's pretty packed on the weekends.

Yelp
Whenever we're in Cold Spring, we always stop at Angie's Bake Shop. It's not large, but busy, and centrally located on Cold Spring's Main Street. We purchased hot chocolate and a bacon, egg and cheese on a biscuit. Both items were VERY GOOD and the staff was very friendly throughout our stay. Do yourself a favor and try Angie's. You'll enjoy every item on their menu. FYI.... try to sit at the tables near the window. If the weather is nice enough, they have a small outdoor seating area. Hot chocolate and people watching is relaxing.

Yelp
Nice bakery check, good coffee check, friendly service check. There are several tables so you can enjoy your coffee and snacks or sandwiches. The chocolate chip cookie was homemade and very chocolatey. Coffee, hot tea and cookie was $10. Would return.

Yelp
Small but lovely bakery in Cold Spring. Everyone working there was extremely nice. Witnessed the owner take off a charge when an order took a long time (hope that customer was grateful for that gesture). Tried the gluten-free scone which was delicious. They have a few sandwiches as well as baked goods. Cookies smelled terrific. No public bathroom, FYI. It's a very small place.

Yelp
This may be the best bakery I've been to in my entire life - everything there is SO good! I stopped by on a trip to Cold Spring - this bakery is located in the heart of the main street and is right in the middle of a bunch of gorgeous little shops. Mini Pumpkin Bundt Cake - delectable! So soft and with a lovely cream cheese frosting. I had to order more to take home. Curry chicken salad salad - a nice fresh spring mix with a vinaigrette dressing and a hearty curry chicken salad for protein. The flavor in the curry was amazing and the chicken was amazingly fresh. I wasn't expecting this from a small little shop i the middle of a small town. The inside is rather small and most of the space is taken up by the kitchen - there are maybe 2-3 tables for seating. There is some dust here and there and I think they could do with cleaning a little more often, however. The people who work there are incredibly nice - there are no bathrooms but they will sometimes allow you if you really really need to go.

Yelp
The muffins here are absolutely scrupulous, cookie crumb topping on a moist fruit filled cake. I am partial to blueberry but had the orange cranberry muffin which a light and zesty! I will return again & again. Service is friendly and efficient.

Yelp
Cozy interiors and friendly staff. The pumpkin soup is divine -- creamy, hearty, herby, and with a touch of sweetness from the pumpkin. The dark chocolate cookie is also excellent; crispy on the edges and soft in the middle, the a rich chocolatey and hazelnutty flavor.

Yelp
If you're not grabbing a stuffed biscuit from Angie's bake shop, what are you even doing? Fluffy eggs, cheese, and bacon all stuffed in a perfect biscuit. Ken's the sandwich guy, and his turkey and Brie? Chef's kiss! Every cookie and muffin Angie bakes is basically a little piece of heaven. Plus, the corner spot on Main and Garden offers prime people-watching while you indulge. Seriously, if your visiting Cold Spring this is where you want to be. Go, eat, and let Angie and Ken make your day.

Mileva K.

Yelp
Angie's is a cute place to get a coffee and a muffin. Staff is nice. Leaving this review because this has happened several times now - the coffee tastes like soap in the morning. Maybe they clean the coffee urns but they aren't rinsing well enough. Had others take a sip without saying why and they too say, tastes like soap! Bummer of a way to start the day.

Yelp
Found this spot on Yelp. Super cozy cafe in the main street in Cold Spring. My party and I needed a place to wait for lunch reservations at Hudson Hills so we came across the street to Angie's and we're not disappointed. The blueberry muffin, honey butter biscuit, and the egg frittata scone were all amazing. Coffee was nice and strong. The place smells amazing too!

Yelp
Amazing fresh baked goods and exceptionally friendly people. They make a dangerously delicious sconey biscuity breakfast, stuffed with egg and cheese, like an omelette all infused with love and the care of a real baker. May husband Timothy and I had coffee and these delicious double chocolate brownie cookies and a lemon square. Ta die faw! The chocolate cookie was a cross between a cake and a cookie -- a veritable "Cacookie!" Slightly burned and caramelized on the bottom, like when you make it at home, and ooey--gooey chewy in the middle, with high quality chocolate in the middle oozing out. The lemon square-- buttery, tart and lemony, moist and cakey, with a light drizzle of lemon frosting on top in just the right amount assuring it's all done tastefully and not cloyingly sweet. I met the owner and principal baker who absolutely charming and sweet, along with her entire shop. Like your favorite auntie Angie. I should know. I have an aunt Angie! It gets busy in there, which is a sign that Cold Spring still has quality shops and eateries. This being a can't miss stop in your visit this fall. Be sure to take home a sampling of goodies for after dinner! You don't want to leave Angie's empty handed.

Yelp
Crabbie owner. Unpleasant to witness unpleasantness. But! Good sandwiches. Roast beef Caprese Good Chocolate chip cookie! Good Breakfast biscuit Funny tasting coffee

Yelp
What a cute little spot right on the main drag! We dropped by looking to pick up a to-go lunch for our train ride back to the city, and were happy that we did. The service was quick and friendly, and the baked goods were unique and delicious. We had the BEC biscuit and a ham & cheese sandwich. The biscuit was fascinating; there was actual scrambled egg baked into the biscuit! We had it cold on the train, but I bet it would've been EVEN BETTER if we had it warmed. The ham & cheese sandwich was less creative, but still tasty.

Yelp
Too bad I can't leave a positive review based on their food. As I was just about to make a purchase, my husband asked if he could use the bathroom and was told "no,sorry". So we quickly leave to use the restroom elsewhere, come back to finish that purchase and whaddayaknow, there's a women coming from the back, literally saying "thanks for letting me use the restroom". I am NOT the type to pull the race card, BUT my husband is Hispanic, with visibly dark skin, whereas this woman was white. Do I even need to tell you, we walked out?

Yelp
We had a quick little lunch hear while wandering Coldspring. Place has just a few outdoor seating options which we snagged and ordered inside. Staff was helpful and food came out quick. There's greatttg baked good options and a pretty short/simple lunch menu with some sandwhich and salads. The panini options were pretty standard (we had Brie and caprese options) but the harlequin cooking was ouuuut of this world. It was Levain-esque for those of you who are farmiliar!!! I would definitely eat again. Nice option for a sweet treat on the main strip in Coldspring!

Himani M.

Yelp
This place is superb! The owner and the whole team are so lovely. Their breads and other baked goods are baked freshly. I had the Cavado sandwich which is vegan and was delicious. It was so fresh tasting, from the bread to the produce, and it tasted divine with the avocados. My favorite part was their sun-dried tomato pesto, which was a welcome change from the sometimes excessive pesto taste I'm used to. Rightfully they don't give the recipe for their sun-dried tomato pesto out that easily haha All their baked goods look amazing. I won't be surprised if their cookies start getting ranked in a list of best cookies in the state, they're definitely a strong contender against Levain. I can't wait to come back again because of the wonderful experience I had!

Yelp
I was craving some beef after a hike and we stopped in here for the roast beef sandwich. It was the first time we came here. Small but cute with a few seats by the window. We also ordered a carrot cake. Everything was delicious. The bread of the sandwich was surprisingly good as well as the homemade horseradish sauce. We scraped every bit out of that container.

Yelp
I visited Angie's Bake Shop on July 12, 2024, for some iced coffee and decided to try one of her buttermilk biscuits with honey-infused butter. I was overwhelmed by the taste of these biscuits, flaky, with just a hint of sweetness, honestly, the best I have ever tasted. This biscuit did not even need the honey butter, but the butter just brought it to an even higher level of taste. I took one home to have the next day, and it was still amazing!! I am sure the locals already know, but if you are visiting Cold Springs, NY, stop by Angie's Bakery, you will not be disappointed. I am only sad I do not live close to Angie's place, so I could stroll over first thing in the morning. I will definitely be back for more biscuits and to try other things on the menu. Thanks Angie

Yelp
Stopped here for a quick lunch after weighing a couple of options on Main Street. The service was quick, we didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes for our sandwiches. I ordered turkey and Brie, the other people I ate with got the ham and Swiss, and curried chicken salad. What came out was so tasty and we all couldn't stop talking about how delicious everything was! The vibes were immaculate. On the way out I had to sample a chocolate chip cookie. It has become my all time favorite cookie.
google avatar

Bonnie G.

Yelp
Pretty good! Wasn't wow'ed by this place like most people, but it was a solid oatmeal raisin cookie and egg and bacon scone. Would come back to try their dark chocolate cookie for sure. No bathroom btw!
google avatar

Stephanie L.

Yelp
Angie's is by far the best bakery in the area. You can taste the love in everything she bakes. I highly recommend her cookies, they are heavenly! I love her chocolate chip and oatmeal. Also the super chocolaty brownies are incredibly delectable. Another favorite is the roast beef sandwich with fresh horseradish, best lunch ever at Angie's! Plus super friendly staff, I will definitely be back in soon.

Ann C.

Yelp
The food is always great. I ever have had anything that was not excellent. Ihsvenot recently been able to get there but I do have friends that ick up food for me. This is certainly a place I would greatly miss if they ever left.

Paulette K.

Yelp
Thanks Angie's Bake Shop for my pre hike breakfast and my post hike treats. You got me through another hike. Storm King was tough and I couldn't have done it without my cheese biscuit. You guys are awesome! Thanks for being so kind!
google avatar

Gary Y.

Yelp
We stopped and had good coffee and shared a cheese scone, which was moist and flavorful with that difficult-to-achieve balance of density and lightness. We will be back to sample more soon.
google avatar

Maya S.

Yelp
What a wonderful shop to stop by if you're in Cold Spring! We came before hiking and the sandwich was phenomenal and great pricing. Then we came back for pastries after because we had such a great experience. They even remembered us!!! Truly a perfect spot and I couldn't recommend it enough
google avatar

Thomas M.

Yelp
We only popped in for a snack, and settled on 2 cookies, one chocolate chip, one oatmeal raison. My wife ate the oatmeal raison, as that's her favorite, despite not having any chocolate chips in it. Cookie was great, a bit pricey, but worth it, just nothing so there's no sticker shock. Seems like a great place for brunch or that type of fair. Very cute, and homey.
google avatar

Ilya A.

Yelp
We were looking for a place to eat after our hike and my friend chose this place as we've never tried it before. We both went with the roast beef sandwich. It was delicious. I think the fresh bread and home made horseradish sauce made it even better. I almost licked the sauce container dry :) I'd be sure come back when I'm in the area.
google avatar

Josh F.

Yelp
Epic coffee, desert and soup even! But what stood out even more was how nice Angie and her squad were. They greeted everyone and even blessed us with a quick pic before getting back to work feeding loyal regulars and newbies alike.

Yelp
The great smell of baked goods and breads is worth a star alone! I ordered the Casado Vegan sandwich and an oatmeal raisin cookie totaling $18. Everything was delicious. Plan to visit again to try the roast beef sandwich!!!

Yelp
Do not pass it up! Home made, super fresh, delicious, and non stop niceness from the nicest lady around. Even had apple cider! Hot! A must stop place for everyone, and very reasonable too!
google avatar

Matt M.

Yelp
Hot apple cider is delicious, the oatmeal raisin and double chocolate cookies are in my top 5 in all of NY, all the assorted pastries are delicious. Staff is very friendly, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, absolutely love this place!

Diana T.

Yelp
What a lovely little shop with DELICIOUS baked goods. When the owner found out it was my birthday, I got a treat with a happy birthday sign in it. So sweet! Thank you!
google avatar

Yelp
this place is a great spot in coldspring, I always stop here for a snack or lunch. lots of drinks and savory or sweet pastries, as well as sandwiches. loved sitting at a table outside in the summer. it gets a little busy but worth a little wait.
google avatar

Gabby D.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! I had an amazing caprese sandwich and the pastries smelt divine. Will definitely be back next time I'm in the area.
google avatar

Sara S.

Yelp
On a warm August day my friend and I decided to have lunch here and we weren't disappointed. It is a cute casual place where you can get a warm welcome and a good sandwich. I honestly don't remember what my friend ordered but I know she enjoyed it. I believe it was a salad. I was too busy enjoying my turkey and brie on delicious crusty (but soft in the middle) bread! We opted to sit outside and people watch but there was seating inside and the a/c was excellent. You can't go wrong if you want a casual lunch. This place is a winner.
google avatar

Deneen P.

Yelp
Amazing little bake shop on Main Street. Delicious goodies, fresh coffee and tea in a low-key, unpretentious space. Sitting outside finishing my coffee right now, so happy to have come here!

Marguerite F.

Yelp
Excellent sandwiches, soup, baked goods, friendly, small town experience with with lovely people.,

Randy F.

Yelp
Today I ordered a coffee and a oatmeal cookie, which looked gorgeous in the case. The coffee was great, the cookie was the MOST AMAZING Oatmeal Raisin Cookie EVER! I immediately went back into the line and bought two more (they had sold several while I was in line...). Cookie Monster Approved and Approved by Me! BEST BAKERY in Cold Spring and they are SO NICE TOO!

Kath B.

Yelp
Lively lunch at Angie's last week. Ate the frittata, tasted the pumpkin soup- all great- & the chocolate chip cookies were de-Licious! Coffee great too. sat at table in front window. owners so nice! would go back.

Yelp
Excellent spot. The turkey & brie sandwich, ice tea, and scone were delicious. The staff is so welcoming and kind. Perfect spot to rest & read on a relaxing afternoon. Thank you!

Yelp
Lots of tasty fresh baked goods and the staff is very friendly. Worth the wait if there's a line.
