My stay at Angkor Century Resort & Spa in Siem Reap was nothing short of wonderful, and it is a place I genuinely grew fond of during my time there.
First and foremost, cleanliness stands out. The hotel itself is very clean and well maintained, and this standard is consistently reflected throughout the property. My room was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully prepared. The housekeeping team deserves special praise, as their standard is outstanding. Every day, the room was cleaned thoroughly with great attention to detail, making it a very pleasant place to return to after long days out.
What truly made this hotel special, however, was the people. Every single staff member, including the common workers, gardeners, chefs, housekeeping staff, receptionists, doormen and the management team, was attentive, professional, warm, and genuinely caring. They were always available when needed, ready to assist with a smile and made me feel welcomed and valued throughout my stay.
One of the most beautiful aspects of this resort is the landscape. The surroundings are truly breathtaking, with lush tropical greenery that you can fully enjoy during a peaceful or brisk walk around the hotel. The gardens are carefully maintained and create a calming atmosphere throughout the property. Inside the hotel as well, there are no artificial flowers or plants, everything is original and naturally green, which adds authenticity and a refreshing sense of nature to the entire experience.
I absolutely loved the large swimming pool, which was well maintained and perfect for my daily 1km medley swim. It was clean, spacious and very relaxing, making it one of my favourite spots in the hotel. The gym was another highlight. It was well equipped and I was especially pleased to find my favourite elliptical machine, which is excellent for cardio and joint reinforcement.
The location of the resort is also excellent. It is close to almost everything you need. Angkor Supermarket is nearby, making it easy to find daily necessities and Pub Street is within walking distance. For guests who do not have ride e-hailing apps installed, the hotel always has tuk tuks readily available at reasonable prices, making transportation simple and convenient.
After long days of walking around the city, the hotel offers excellent options to unwind. Professional on call massage services are available at your preferred time and the spa within the hotel is also a wonderful place to relax and recharge.
Breakfast deserves special mention. The breakfast buffet is a killer. While I would say it is one the best I have ever had and it is certainly memorable. The variety is satisfying and the setting is what truly makes it special. Dining indoors or outdoors while overlooking the pool, accompanied by the iconic large canopy tree, is refreshing and a perfect way to start the day.
In all honesty, I love this place. Angkor Century offers comfort, warmth, genuine hospitality and a peaceful environment that makes you feel at home. I would gladly return again.
