Hotel Angleterre Lausanne My recent stay at Hotel Angleterre Lausanne was absolutely exceptional. The location is unbeatable—perfectly situated on the shores of Lake Geneva with breathtaking views that truly leave you awe-struck. Whether you’re watching the sunrise over the water or enjoying an evening aperitif overlooking the Alps, every moment feels special. The hotel’s prime location places you right in the heart of Lausanne’s charm, with easy access to the city’s top attractions, restaurants, and cultural sites. The rooms are absolutely stunning. Beautifully furnished and entirely modern, they strike the perfect balance of elegance and comfort. Everything feels brand new and spotless, with thoughtful details and top-quality amenities throughout. The beds are exceptionally comfortable, and the views from the windows are simply breathtaking. A lovely hotel with great staff. The rooms were very nice. Staff was great. ||I was very nice and clean. ||Minus was that the sound proofing was not great and the bed was a bit firm for me. But would definitely recommend and stay again. Location it perfect.

As we were warned before check in, the hotel lobby is undergoing renovation so you must check in at their sister property 1 block away. This other hotel is a 5 star establishment, and their porters brought our bags to the room for us. Angleterre is made up of 4 buildings (including the lobby) and our executive room with lake view was in the back left, so it was actually an obstructed lake view. Pictures online made it seem like the room would have a balcony, and it did not, though others in our building did have balconies. However, it was quite large (especially the bathroom) and very comfortable. We did hear the construction and lawn work beginning at 7am, and were left to fend for our own bags at check out because there is no nearby reception. Looking forward to returning when construction is complete (which they said should be in April 2026) and will specifically request a balcony room. Right on the lakefront with access to many good restaurants, and very easy access to the train.

I had a really lovely stay at this hotel. I got a complimentary upgrade to a Junior Suite, which was a great surprise. The room was spacious, super clean, and had a cozy, elegant design. The bathroom was fantastic — two sinks, a glass-door shower, bathtub, bathrobes, everything you'd want. There was a coffee machine and a fridge with complimentary drinks, which was a nice touch. The bed was very comfortable, and I slept incredibly well — even woke up to birds singing outside. The staff were professional and helpful. The gym is in a different building but well equipped, with both cardio and weights. There is also an outdoor pool. All the buildings are renovated and modern, but still full of charm. The location is excellent — right by the lake and just a short walk from the metro station, which made getting around very easy. Overall, a peaceful and comfortable experience. Would definitely stay again.

I stayed for two nights at Hôtel d’Angleterre and it was such a beautiful and memorable experience. We chose this hotel because it’s located right by the lake, a little away from the busy and noisy city center. That choice turned out to be perfect, the area is peaceful, and waking up to the view of the calm water and the Alps in the distance felt almost magical. The location alone makes this place worth visiting. Our room was absolutely lovely! tastefully decorated and filled with thoughtful touches. It looked recently renovated, with a fresh yet classic style that created a cozy and elegant feeling. The bed was very comfortable, the lighting warm and soft, and even the curtains and small details showed great attention to design. Everything in the room felt like it was prepared with care. One of the highlights of our stay was the hotel staff. The housekeeping team was simply wonderful, so kind, efficient, and polite. We had a small issue with the drainage in the bathroom, and as soon as we mentioned it, they immediately sent someone to help. The repair staff arrived quickly, fixed the problem, and made sure we were comfortable afterward. Their professionalism and warmth made us feel genuinely cared for. It seems the hotel is currently undergoing a major renovation, including the reception area, which was still under construction during our stay. The hotel will surely be even more beautiful once the renovation is completed. I can only imagine how elegant it will look. I can’t wait to visit again and see the final result. A peaceful lakeside stay, full of warmth and care… absolutely worth staying if you’re in Ouchy, Lausanne.

I was extremely disappointed with our stay. For a supposedly luxury experience we got snooty service with the exception of one friendly female receptionist who checked us in. First we showed up with our bikes, this hotel is not bike friendly, the main reception building was closed so we had to go to the palace hotel, where people treated us like we were lesser just because we had bike bags and bike clothing. There was no message or warning on booking that we had to check into the other reception until we wrote them after we had been walking around for 30 minutes. Nobody helped us with our bags. We had to just leave our bikes in the open in the garage on the first level, nobody showed us where or offered a secure place. It did not feel secure. This was different than what was communicated to me when I wrote before booking. I do not recommend it is not worth the price, sorry to say. The rooms are not sound proof and you can hear every noise in the other rooms. Ochy is beautiful and the restaurant L'Accademia is phenomenal excellent food and drink, its just a shame the hotel is subpar.

This hotel is 10/10. Great location. Very quiet. Relaxing pool area. Lovely rooms. Free minibar with water, coke and beers topped up every day. Free tickets to the subway into the centre. Highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Lausanne.

Nice room, good service and great location. The only negative that we can say is that the lighting for the stairway (coming up from the restaurant) is extremely poor and needs to be improved. We checked in at night and it was very difficult to see the individual steps. We almost tripped a number of times. Simply putting higher wattage light bulbs will resolve the situation.

Dating back to the 18th century this little charmer will not disappoint. A 40 min drive from the Geneva-Cointrin International airport and located in Lausanne, Geneva on the waterfront of Lake Leman, Geneva-Switzerland. I found the staff to be professional, extremely accomodating and friendly in all areas of the hotel. The rooms I would describe as modem and contemporary with a nice European feel. The bed was comfortable although if you are used to sleeping with a firm pillow I would suggest asking for more as the pillows in the room are abundantly feathered and you head will sink through to the mattress. The, 'Restaurant Terrace' has a divine breakfast buffet that there is as additional cost for if you don't include it in your booking. They also have a really nice outside Terrace that has a sensational view of Lake Leman looking across toward Evian, France. The hotel is in close, (5 min walk) proximity to the Lausanne Train Station which makes it really convenient if you don't have a car or choose not to drive. There is a nice park and harbour across from the hotel; be sure and take the ferry for a gorgeous 40 min ride on Lake Leman over to Evian, France. *Hotel has a small secure parking structure *Free WIFI *Bicycle rental Loved this location, would definitely go back.

Outstanding location nestled within Lausanne. Private pool and courtyard. Just off Lake Geneva with access to wonderful lakeside restaurants, bars, and small cafe and pizzeria. The customer service is exceptional and rooms are well maintained. They should give clients access to charging USB devices by utilizing better lamps with built in charging ports or swap out all the outlets with ones that allow for USB charging. We will definitely stay here again.

Excellent hotel and even better staff. Esteban was awesome - he gave us great recommendations around the area and was very helpful. Good views of the lake plus a very nice breakfast at the restaurant. Room was nice and comfy. Easy five stars.
