28 Editor-Recommended Greek Island Hotels

"An Asian-inspired stay in Corfu With sweeping views over the Ionian Bay, it’s easy to see why Banyan Tree Group chose a hill in Benitses in Corfu as the location of its first venture into Europe. The result is Angsana, a slick resort that combines Asian-inspired design with all the hallmarks of a luxurious Mediterranean stay—private beach, beach club, yoga deck, and a spa. A generously sized world class spa at that, home to a hammam, wellness pool, 11 treatment rooms, gym with new Technogym equipment, and a 82-foot-long indoor pool. Then there’s the outdoor pool and cabana set ups—quite possibly the most photogenic on the island. In the rooms, bathrooms are majestic with egg-shaped baths and floor-to-ceiling marble. Geometric orange kimonos with matching slippers enhance the overall Japanese aesthetic. When it’s time for supper, there are three options: Koh, which serves new twists on Asian classics, the upscale Italian-with-a-local-twist restaurant Botrini, and a rooftop bar that’s the place to be for a sundowner. Or whenever you want—the resort is open year round. —Jemima Sissons" - Becky Lucas

Wow! We had a fabulous stay at the Angsana. The level of service from the time you check in, chilling by the pool or eating in one of the restaurants is superb. There is a nice beach club, with music in the evenings and good Greek fare. The staff at the amazing infinity pool is also super helpful. The rooms are spacious with gorgeous views. A top place to stay on Corfu!

We stayed for seven wonderful nights at this incredible property, and it was truly one of the best vacations we've ever had! The resort is absolutely stunning—the pool is every bit as amazing as the photos suggest. The gym was spacious, clean, and well-maintained. We were also upgraded to a one-bedroom suite, which was both beautiful and spacious.||We dined at every restaurant on the property and can confidently say that dinner at the Emerald by Night Beach Club is a must—thank you, Maria, for the recommendation! The food, ambiance, and live entertainment were all outstanding.||We also had the joy of celebrating my husband's 40th birthday and our 10-year wedding anniversary with a vow renewal ceremony by the pool—and it was STUNNING! Nina went above and beyond to help coordinate every detail-photographer, videographer, etc., making it a truly perfect moment. George, our hotel-provided officiant, was warm, kind, and did a fantastic job.|We had a small issue with the Wi-Fi due to some settings on our phone, but Maria quickly helped us resolve it. She was incredibly helpful and kind throughout our stay.||Overall, this was one of the most memorable trips we've ever taken—made even more special by the amazing staff, especially Nina, George, and Maria. We can't wait to return!

The hotel has incredible views and it is perfect if you’re looking for a chillout vacation since there’s a private beach which you can reach on foot or with the hotel shuttle. There’s also an incredible infinity pool that looks into the Ionian see that’s breathtaking. Drinks are amazing at every bar - especially the paloma! There are 3 restaurants on property (1 Asian, 1 Mediterranean, and 1 traditional Greek on the beach). We’ve tried the mediterranean one and the food quality was good as well as service (nothing incredible but solid). We’ve also tried the beach one and, while cute, food was just ok - you’ll find better traditional food in town. The one main flaw of this hotel, in my opinion, is breakfast: while it looks like there’s something for everyone (eggs, cheese, cold cuts, pastries etc), the quality is really subpar (the pastries section especially: everything seems of industrial quality and not freshly baked, which you’d expect from a 5 star hotel, and the yogurt section has no Greek yogurt which was again very surprising). We ended up skipping breakfast which honestly impacted our holiday because it’s tough to reach other places around where you could have other food for breakfast. Overall, service was very good (I’d say between 4 and 5 stars) - what I find odd for instance is that when you order a drink they don’t have olives available as a snack while this is a land of olives, which are also served for breakfast, and they don’t seem to necessarily go out of their way to try and satisfy your requests. This notwithstanding, everyone was always polite, nice, respectful and accommodating. In particular, Ioanna, who checked us in was incredibly friendly, fun, and attentive and made our stay super enjoyable.

I just wanted to say a big thank you for the amazing experience I had at your beautiful hotel by the sea. From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely welcomed. The reception staff were so friendly and helpful — always smiling and ready to assist with anything I needed. You truly made me feel at home. The hotel’s location right on the beach is absolutely stunning. Waking up to the sound of the ocean and watching the sunset each evening was something I’ll never forget. I also want to thank the restaurant staff for their excellent service and delicious food. Every meal was a treat, and your kindness and attention made it even better. And of course, a huge thank you to the housekeeping team. My room was always perfectly clean, comfortable, and fresh. Your hard work made my stay extra relaxing. Thank you again to everyone at Angsana. You’ve created such a warm and special place, and I can’t wait to come back!

Our family set out for our very first visit to Corfu this summer. We absolutely love Greece and it is our third time visiting this special, diverse country. Upon our arrival to an Sanne, we were greeted warmly and quickly by Maria in a beautiful lobby. We were soon taken on a tour of these gorgeous grounds that have amazing backdrop of the Ionian Sea. |We opted to splurge for a two bedroom villa as we traveled with our two teenage daughters. The layout of the villa is exceptional! But living room area and the patio area with a pool is a wonderful setting that allows for plenty of space for a family to enjoy time together or time apart. The second floor bedroom, master suite Has a gorgeous bathroom with another beautiful view of the sea lots of light with huge windows taking up the whole wall facing the sea. There are wonderful, blackout drapes, which allow you to sleep in if that is what you’d like.|As patrons who opted for the villa we were able to choose between the villa breakfast option, which was more of a sitdown restaurant or the buffet. The sit down offers a more formal setting and a better view of the sea. The buffet offerings were easier for the four of us to find what we wanted And it was delicious. The service at breakfast was wonderful, and the food was diverse with healthy options and treats. The V club is a really nice area for you to find a break from the heat in a small lounge setting with a variety of games and books and the happy hour offered every day is modest but a very nice touch.|The pool is a wonderful size and the infinity flows into what appears to be the sea below. There are shallow pools for young children as well. Plenty of space for lounge chairs with sun and shade. The crew that tends to the seating and umbrellas are very attentive and available for your assistance.

No Words – Simply on Another Level! Our stay at Angsana Corfu was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived until the very end, everything was executed to absolute perfection. The breathtaking views, the luxurious yet elegant design, and the impeccable service all came together to create a truly unforgettable experience. Every staff member we encountered was warm, professional, and genuinely attentive. The food? Like dining at a top-tier gourmet restaurant – creative, fresh, and delicious. The infinity pool overlooking the sea is pure magic. This place isn’t just a hotel – it’s a destination. Angsana Corfu sets a new standard for luxury. We’ll definitely be back.

The hotel is fine if you want to feel like you are staying in a large convention centre or airport. Unfortunately we were really disappointed with the overall experience at Angsana. Staff were pleasant enough. It was a little hard to get service at the pool area, lots of tight smiles from the staff when we eventually ordered. I used their mid-stay survey email to complain about a time I received room service and found the condiment jars that had been sent up had already been opened and consumed and I received a response from Ageliki “ we would like to assure you that all condiments provided are single-use, factory-sealed, and never reused or refilled. We follow strict hygiene protocols and food safety standards in all aspects of our service.” so effectively calling me a liar, which was pretty offensive. The private beach was very underwhelming. Small and not maintained, live weeds growing through the sand around the sunbeds, not a patch on how IKOS look after their beaches. The small hotel car park that you can use before walking under the underpass to the beach had litter scattered around. I’m also including a photo of the hotel beach umbrellas which sums it up. Do you expect parasols like this at a 5 star? Thankfully we did hire a car because the hotel is high up from the road and walking into Benitses of an evening would have been very challenging for young or old guests. Or anyone really who doesn’t want a 20min steep walk.||Our family suite was really great though, and there was a very high level of cleaning each day. The sea view is also incredible as the hotel is positioned to look down the coast as well as to the mainland. The cocktails were fantastic. Breakfast was fine, service was usually great, but no Greek yoghurt??? A shame. Kids club was also fantastic which was great because there is literally nothing else for kids to do apart from pool or kids club. No park, no green areas etc. we have a 4 and 6 year old and it was tough to keep them entertained. I would not recommend this hotel for people with young children.||People reserved sunbeds with books or towels which the pool staff said should not happen and there is a rule that if the beds are unused after 30 minutes then the towels etc can be removed. However when I then heard guests asking ‘how long has that bed been unused’ the staff just shrugged. No point having a rule if it can’t be enforced.||Overall I scratched an itch by going but will not return or recommend. If your holiday fits with their standard guest offering then you’ll be fine, but don’t expect to get a 5 star service.

Angsana Corfu Resort & Spa was the perfect finale to our Greek island adventure, offering a true 5-star resort experience. The property boasts multiple restaurants with very good food, a stunning (unheated) infinity pool with breathtaking Ionian Sea views, a heated indoor pool, gym, sauna, and steam room. Tip: eat breakfast early to secure a poolside seat, as they fill up fast! The spa was wonderful, though it lacks dedicated amenities like a private pool or hot tub. The service was exceptional—staff were incredibly knowledgeable and attentive, making our stay seamless. We loved the olive oil tasting activity—highly recommend if it’s offered. Our room was clean, modern, and recently updated, adding to the luxury. Corfu is a gem, and this resort is ideally located just 25 minutes from Corfu Old Town. Renting a car is the way to go for flexibility, though parking can be tough when cruise ships dock; taxis are pricey but reliable. We didn’t try the shuttle to the private beach, but it’s a great option. This beautiful resort is a must-stay for exploring vibrant Corfu—we only wish we’d had more time!
