Angus has the most phenomenal breakfast. Holy cow the Turkish eggs with yogurt, chickpeas and cucumber are perfection. Packed with really good flavours and a lovely tangy freshness from the cucumbers that have been marinated in some sort of magical sauce (harissa maybe?). The poached eggs are soft but not overly runny - perfect. All mopped up with the fluffy bread. The freddo cappuccino was an excellent coffee and prefect in the scorching temps we’ve been having lately. The staff are really lovely and genuinely look like they enjoy working here. Great place for breakfast and brunch. Both indoor and outdoor seating available. There are bouquets of flowers available for purchase from the local florist which is a really nice touch. I’ll be pack to try the fried fish sandwich! 🥪

Deliciously good with a vibing atmosphere and serious wow factor — that’s the best way to sum up our experience at Angus in Marrickville. The food? Exceptional. The service? Spot on. We kicked things off with the Turkish eggs loaded with chickpeas, cucumber, tahini yoghurt, harissa and focaccia. The boiled eggs were cooked to just runny-yolk perfection — exactly how I like them — and every bite was a deliciously balanced flavour moment. Then came the Reuben sandwich, starring house-made brisket pastrami, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, pickled cucumber, house relish and aioli. A fun, modern twist on the classic, and honestly? A full-on flavour explosion. For our caffeine hit, we went with the recommended oat maple cold brew, and it absolutely delivered — the coffee kick we needed, but with a unique little twist. Of course, we couldn’t leave without something sweet, so the chocolate cake with cherry compote and mascarpone was our grand finale. Rich, generous, perfectly balanced and big enough to share… if you’re feeling nice. Don’t miss this spot — you’ll thank yourself later.

A really tasty cafe with a large menu. Lunch focuses mainly on their sandwiches (which they are most know for) however, their breakfast menu is all day. Everything we had had here has been fresh and tasty, including their cabinet baked goods. Their meh rotates slightly seasonally which makes it fun to return and try new items.

We came here for breakfast and, funnily enough, didn’t try the sandwiches they’re known for (though they looked absolutely amazing!). Instead, we went with the breakfast menu — pancakes and oats porridge — and both were spot-on. The dishes were hearty, comforting, and really well put together. The coffee deserves a special mention too — rich, smooth, and exactly what you want to start the morning with. Even without trying their signature sandwiches, it’s clear this place takes pride in quality. We’ll definitely be back to give those sandwiches a go next time!

Went to Angus for Lunch last week. The coffee was strong, but good. We ordered 4 sandwiches between us, and each one was delicious. We ordered the eggplant, fish, chicken, and Reuben. We were all very satisfied after eating, until we got the bill. The food is great, but it’s very expensive for what it is, especially when there’s so many similar choices in the area which are cheaper.

Great sandwiches, the chips is enough to share. I wanted to eat more but was absolutely stuffed. Crumbed fish is a winner. Will try Reuben next!

I patronised this quaint, back-alley café more than a year ago, when it was still under a different management. Back then I recall being enamoured by the aesthetics of the set-up - glass windows, sun-lit atmosphere, tall ceilings, and an open counter filled with baked goods. I'd fallen in love with the whole ambience of the café. Fast forward to today, it's now a bustling space for creative individuals and curious patrons. Packed to the brim on weekends where it does hurt a little to have to forgo when queues get too long, weekdays are when that unique vibey sanctuary for space and relaxation still pertains for a moment of quiet productivity. This place now exudes vibrancy, stylish retro staffing, pretty nooks of books & flowers, and an overt care for what they offer. My go-to here is the poached turmeric chicken sandwich. The taste is unprecedentedly spiced and savoury, and keeps a craving that can't be fulfilled anywhere else. It's tucked in between their fluffy focaccia slices fresh from the bakery. What makes this place so lovely is also that they're always so open to any unique desires I crave. Nowadays I'm in love with the chicken paired with their house relish & tangy pickled onions, and the perfect sandwich gets crafted each time. Oh, and coffee here is one of the best. I think the people here are what makes this place evermore special. Their openness with arbitrary menu alterations also speak to how it feels like everyone is given respect and care here. They have great fashion & incredible music, and smiles that last even when it can get overwhelming with crowds. It's easy to hold a conversation with anyone here, and to feel so cared for. Christos is one cool boss, Sitara's an old-time sweetheart, and recently Elle with the cutest curls was so lovely to my partner and I. Always a loyal patron, and you guys should definitely pay a visit (to the heartbreak of my weekend mornings, but pride for these people).
