I had a great experience at both the restaurant and the cave. The food was absolutely delicious and I think everyone should try the lamb stew. The service is also great with the staff being very attentive and friendly. The view is so nice and the breeze helps on a very hot day. There’s also a playground, shops in the area, and a nice lookout spot. The cave tour was well worth it. Our tour guide was very nice and even helped my kids navigate the slippery rocks. The view from the cave is very nice and the swim at the end is so worth it. The water was chilly but perfect in the heat. If you’re not the best swimmer, no worries, it starts off shallow and gradually gets a bit deeper so you’ll be fine. This was one of my favorite tours in Barbados and I would do it again.

My second visit to this place, We visited here as part of our Island Tour! listen, the view here is astonishing! The ocean, the cliffs, everything is very scenic and beautiful. There is also a restaurant here but we did not have time to sample the food. Just be careful near the edge of the cliffs! There are changing rooms with ample room so you can change into your swimwear and out at the end of the Tour. The cave itself is accessed down a very steep flight of concrete stairs. Once at the bottom our guide carefully guided us around a series of small pools with lots of information. The last pool is the swimming area which ranges from 2ft to about 8ft at the deepest. Waves pound the entrance so getting too close to the sea is forbidden. The guide is there to keep you safe also. I have to say he worked hard with a small group of 2. After the Tour there's a chance to look at locally produced art and crafts. An amazing experience with an added twist. After the tour is finished there is a reasonably priced restaurant serving authentic Bajan cuisine which was the cherry on top of the experience. Barbados is the only coral island in the West Indies, The cave has a coral floor which is estimated to be about 400,000 to 500,000 years old. Whereas the younger coral section above the main floor is about 126,000 years old. We were able to plenty of animal flowers inside the pools, which was an amazing experience.

We had a lunch reservation at 1pm on a Wednesday. The restaurant was not crowded and we were sat at what one of the staff members called the best table (I agree). The food menu was hard to choose from because everything sounded fantastic. We tried the beans and rice with jerk chicken, and the sizzling garlic shrimp. The shrimp was not sizzling but delicious nonetheless. My partner loved the jerk chicken. Afterwards we got tickets to go down to the cave. We only waited for about 5 minutes before we were put in a small group with a guide. We wore sneakers and with careful stepping, that was perfectly fine to navigate the rockiness of the cave. I would not recommend flip flops or barefoot. The cave was otherworldly. We didn’t swim, but just sitting in and exploring the cave was an incredible experience. Our guide had interesting facts and info as we went. Take your time to explore the lookout points and shops. The viewpoint behind the building where you buy your cave ticket is phenomenal. Nature is beautiful 🌊😍

If you are in Barbados, I would consider Animal Flower Cave a must see attraction. The views inside the cave system are absolutely stunning! The entry cost was $40 US for two people and we basically had a small group tour through the cave system. The tour guide was nice, but certainly the experience felt a bit rushed. As someone who really enjoys photography, I would have liked a few more moments to just take some pictures and enjoy the moment. The cave is super slippery so just be careful. Aside from the cave, there is also the northern rocky coast which is really beautiful to checkout. We did not have a chance to checkout the restaurant.

Cave tips: you don't need water shoes to visit this place. The guides wear sneakers so ideally you should too. Failing that, you can also wear slippers or go barefoot, but will need to be careful. You only need to walk for about 50-100m to the swimming pool so it's not the hardest thing. I'd also recommend going near opening or closing to avoid the pool being full with other tourists. Cave review: it's a truly spectacular cave and it's definitely worth the money. For the price of the ticket, you also get a guide, who will take you down safely and explain what you're looking at. You'll see a couple of cave openings, the last of which contains a natural pool you can swim in. The views of the ocean through the cave opening are breathtaking. Restaurant review: the views from the restaurant are spectacular. The food is very good, the drinks are OK. The waiters are friendly, but they weren't able to answer any questions about the cave. Considering they're the same business, it would be good to have some very basic knowledge about it. The prices are alright too, so I would definitely recommend eating here before or after visiting the cave.

Loved everything about our visit to Animal Flower Cave & Restaurant! The gorgeous day during our visit made for some beautiful pictures and memories! Discovery: The cave was discovered in 1780 by two English explorers who found its seaward entrance. Formation: It was formed at sea level but now stands six feet above the high water mark because Barbados is rising at a rate of one inch per 1000 years. Access: Coral steps built in 1912 lead down through an opening in the roof (called "the blowhole") into the cave. Sea Anemones: The cave is named after the sea anemones found in the pools, which are locally known as "animal flowers." These anemones look like plants but act like animals, retracting their tentacles when sensing danger.

Another fantastic spot to visit in Barbados! Although we didn’t dine at the restaurant, we enjoyed a lovely walk around the area and purchased tickets to explore the cave. It was an experience well worth it. The natural swim hole inside the cave was absolutely breathtaking, truly something you have to see and experience.

Lovely cave and very friendly guide. If you want to swim in there, be sure to attend in good weather. There are a lot of gravels and pebbles in the cave so they advise people to put on water shoes or trainers - I didn't know it in advance so it was a bit hard to walk through
