"Swiss Rösti at Restaurant Brasserie Anker Rösti, a pan-fried grated potato dish, is famously associated with Switzerland’s German-speaking population. In fact the “Rösti Divide” is a term jokingly used to refer to cultural differences between Switzerland’s German and French linguistic regions. These days you can order rösti throughout the country but some of the best is found at Restaurant Brasserie Anker in Bern. This family-friendly spot serves hearty portions straight from the frying pan. When washed down with a local beer, it’s an experience that locals and visitors both relish. This was something horrible. Service ignored us at the first moment we came. This lady absolutely didnt know what she was doing. She gave us appetizer first and then drinks. Also she didnt remember our order and she was asking us min. twice. She didnt apologize for nothing. Back to appetizer, she gave us something what we didnt order. Unproffesional. I found a hairs in my food. Also we’ve waited for the day menu almost 45 min. We really dont recommend this restaurant.

Good place for dinner and beer. I had the grrilled chicken with bacon and vegetables and fries. It was a big dinner for me. Big serving. They have also some chairs outside but it was cold for me to sit. A bit cold. Highly recommend for food and drinks.

Lovely touristic place in the center, historical. Quite overpriced, serving traditional German meals, fondue, wines and beers. Great English speaking staff, indoor seating

I ate in this restaurant with Friends tonight, I was expected to eat typical Swiss food and be well received by the waitress but neither food or waitress was good. The "fondu" was disgusting and rusties was just match potatoes with one egg and bacon with cheese. I can do the the same in my house with only one hand. It was disgusting I didn't like it at all and of course I leave the restaurant as starving than when I came. Same for m'y Friends who didn't fisnished the fondue. The waitress that coudn't understand english made 3 mistakes on our orders and Never apologize for that. She showed that she was pissed and annoyed by us. The food was son expensive 30 CHF for this disgusting fondue and 28 CHF for rusties (smatch potatoes). The waitress yell at us because of her mistakes. This place is horrible, if you want a propre food Never go there! It's a precious advice.

Lovely place for a Beer. I enjoy the time having beer in the earlier evening (especially weather now on April in Bern is very friendly), while watching people in the middle old town character of classic europe. The lady server also very friendly (I forgot her name), the price I saw on the Menu List are quiet friendly one also. This place located very close to the Hotel Bern (Best Western Plus). Maybe next will try their other menu there.

Yelp
A little pricey but we split a rosti and a pizza and it was great! Would definitely recommend. Took a little time as they were understaffed but our host was very nice, sehr net.

Yelp
I'd say was Ok, and I'm not sure I'd recommend eating. To be fair we didn't eat but it seemed like just touristy food for tourists. We did sit out on the street watching the trains go by, drinking some local beers and it was pretty special, you can't beat the location, but one of those places that has pictures on the menu and could be anywhere. Also charge for tap water so better off just getting a bottle before you sit down. We did get silly and was worth the hilarious convo we had with our waiter.

Yelp
Slightly greasy and salted Swiss food. Outdoor seating is nice. Large portions. Sadly waitress tried to steal my money and gave me wrong change. Rebel review: 3

Yelp
Ordinary food. Bad service. Rude staff. Any request we had the server had pissed off look for it. We ordered beers and Fondue and they charged us CHF 3 for tap water. The only reason they seem to be still in business is their location. Avoid if you can.

Yelp
We had dinner here and ate outside. The food was ok, but service was a bit slow. I had the Peruvian Churassco Saltado which was tasty and my Husband had the Rösti with some wurst. I thought the potatoes in the Rösti were less greasy than other versions of the dish that I've had before. Our two dinners plus two small beers cost 70 CHF.

Yelp
Food was nasty: too oily and it seems like the only seasoning they know of is salt. Poor communication due to the server not speaking english (which is fine considering we're not in an english speaking country) but there seemed to be little to no effort on the waiter's part to help us enjoy the experience. One of the worst things was that they charge you for tap water! We specifically asked for regular water because we didn't want drinks, but we found an extra $10 on our bill and the waiter's explanation was a shrug. Definitely not worth visiting unless you like oily pork, salty potatoes, expensive water and an incredibly impassive waiter.

Yelp
Unfriendly and bad service, food was way too oily. Had the rösti with bacon. Not recommended, avoid this place!

Yelp
Quick day visit to the capital, Bern and I chose this place as my lunch time spot. In typical Switzerland fashion, the place had a wifi signal but did not offer on request the password. The response I got was "we don't have wifi" ...hmm sure showed up on my phone. Anyway the inside of this place is old school bavarian with wooden bench like tables and seating. The drinks choice is not great but the food menu looked decent. Went for a local dish which was a swiss twist to bangers and mash with gravy. The dish was okay, the sausage not as tasty as i would like with a tough skin. Won't even talk about the prices as this is the land of the $8 big mac.

Yelp
This is a good spot to stop by, whether you are a local or a tourist, and grab a beer, some sausage, and perhaps a fondue (with a hulking bag of bread on the side). The menu has images (for those who don't speak the language) of the food and I can recommend the simple plate of sausage to go along with the rest of your meal.

Yelp
Stopped here for a quick coffee. Didn't taste like it at all. Complained about it, got an super unfriendly answer that it isn't her problem or fault. And by the way: didn't get water (which is mentioned in the Menue) which is included with coffee.

Yelp
Exactly what we would hope for in a true Swiss place. Excellent cheese! Great friendly service. Pleasant surroundings! Vegetarian menu! And open late! Vundebar!Really packed so the waiters don't have much time for you but had a great time there. prices are middle range

Yelp
The service was very poor. I asked for a mix of apple juice and sparkling water (to get a sparkling apple juice), but was told they could not do this for me. Instead, I was told to take a large glass and with a separate bottle of mineral water and a separate bottle of apple juice mix them together myself. I agreed, but was then brought a bottle of sparkling apple juice to mix with carbonated sparkling water. The wait staff had already been so abrupt/rude, I let it slide and paid for both sparkling water and sparkling apple juice. The food is extremely oily and had a bad smell. I ordered the vegetarian rosti and was forced to leave the bottom half of the rosti because it was swimming in oil and had a slightly off mayonnaise on the large chunks of unseasoned broccoli and cauliflower on top.
