Great location of hotel as it's only a short walk (around 10 mins) from Central station or around 230 nok in a taxi from there.|Rooms are clean and spacious and the beds were soft and comfy. Nice to have windows that actually opened. Especially liked the underfloor heating in the bathroom! Shower was easy to work and was warm and powerful. |Breakfast was quite busy but had great options and lots of food, something for everyone. |The staff at the hotel were helpful and friendly. |The location is great although I didn't like walking down Storgata, once was enough and I didn't feel particularly safe there. However the streets on either side are absolutely fine. The street to the left of Storgata takes you to central station and is a nice walk. The street to the right takes you to Torgata which I liked as it was bustling with lots of eateries and shops.|We also walked upwards to Gronerlokka area and it was lovely. Plenty of vintage shops and cafes and eateries and green spaces, would definitely visit there again.|I thoroughly enjoyed our time in Oslo, it's such a clean city and the Norwegians were very welcoming. I can't wait to return.

Excellent choice! The location is perfect! It's 20 min walking distance from the marina and the central station, 15 min from downtown. The breakfast buffet offers a variety of gluten free and lactose free options, vegan dishes as well.

We enjoyed our stay at Anker Hotel. The rooms were very clean, spacious and beds were comfortable. We booked a room with view, but a view on the fjords / waterside of Oslo is not guaranteed. The bathroom however was very small, and the water pressure of the shower was disappointing. Service was very good, we received a complimentary breakfast box because we had to leave our room very early to catch a train. Breakfast buffet was tasty and clean. Location is top-rate, with a tram stop right outside of the hotel. 15 minute walk to city center.

Good place which located around 7 minutes walk from Oslo Central Station. Good breakfast and although the room is a bit small, all facilities are there and had a good sleep. All the place of interest are within walking distance although tram or bus can be used, walking is recommended.

Google
Good hotel, with excellent breakfast great location with tram stop and bus stop right outside. Quiet and comfortable with friendly staff a luggage room. My only complaint was the shower flooded the bathroom as was just doors and a grid in the floor, and purchased 2 bottles of still water which was £9.58 from reception should have walked down to 7Eleven but was late. Not tea or coffee making facilities in the room had to purchase from reception

The location is perfect — right in the city center, with easy access to public transport, restaurants, and the main attractions. The room was clean, modern, and very comfortable, with everything I needed for a relaxing stay. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, always ready to answer questions and give local recommendations. Breakfast was delicious with a great variety of options. The overall atmosphere felt warm, safe, and welcoming.I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Oslo and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the city.

A very decent hotel in the centre of Oslo, with a tram stop right outside it and only a short walk from the train station. |We found it relatively easy to find and this was our first time in Oslo. ||Our room was a good size for a couple and were clean and certainly warm.||A superb breakfast on offer to get your day off to a great start. |Even had Gluten Free break and Vegan options available without the need to ask. ||A very good hotel for the money paid.

The room is clean and the breakfast was pretty good. The receptionist also helpful. I have nothing to complaint about this hotel. My little concern was the area next to the hotel was a bit sketchy. Good thing the tram station is right in front of the hotel, so you dont need to walk, just take the tram.

Yelp
We booked Anker on a whim- our normal hotel was booked for our first night in Oslo so we went with Anker. First thing to note is there's a hostel side and a hotel side. We stayed at the hotel- which was lovely. Tacking the train from the airport to the city center will leave you with a 14 minute walk to the hotel. With luggage this wasn't ideal, we'll Uber moving forward. Once inside it was nice but simple- honestly it's what we expected in Oslo outside of the 4/5 star hotels we have booked for later in the trip. We had a large room which fit two perfectly, and the beds were super comfortable. Free WiFi which is expected in my opinion, and a breakfast Buffett in the morning. I found staff to be friendly and we actually had no issues during our one night stay. I'm not sure if I would stay here for more than two nights based on needing a little more from a hotel room but it's a solid choice. Oslo is expensive so be prepared to spend money, even on a limited frill hotel for a night,

Yelp
Great hotel and in a perfect location for travel. I'm taking away a star for the lack of wifi access in the rooms. As an international traveler that is a must. To be told that it's accessible only in the lobby and not in the rooms isn't a fix. To be told it's been like that for years makes it worse. To be told they keep saying they're going to fix it doesn't make it better either. Bleck. Too hard to plan anything on a trip when you can't access the internet, especially when you pay a bit more to get a hotel with the wifi. Let's move on your the 4 stars because if they can fix the internet you SHOULD stay here! The woman who greeted us at the desk was awesome and friendly. We came early thinking we'd just be able to store our luggage but our room was ready! Yahoo!! The room was perfect. Super comfy. We had 3 beds and 2 could be pushed together as well. I would love to see some usb outlets or plugs near the beds. Super helpful with cell phones being used as alarm clocks. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfy and no issues with the bathroom. There was also a TV so that was a plus. As far as getting there, it's an easy walk from the main station but you can jump up on a tram to get there. With the construction going on and the iffy few blocks right before the hotel, I'd get off on the stop after the hotel. It's actually a shorter walk.

Yelp
We stayed here from February 14-22 2016 and we were quite happy with the hotel. It's nothing special, very basic, but affordable and we got a great package. The rooms are a little small, and the beds were single - but they are some of the most comfortable beds that I've ever slept on in a hotel. The pillows not so much, but it didn't make or break my sleep, lol. Checking in was smooth and fast, and the employees at the front desk were great throughout our entire stay. I was able to buy postcards to send home and they put together all the postage and such for me and shipped them off. Awesome! The morning buffet breakfast is alright, but we were pretty tired of it by the third day as they don't seem to ever switch it up even a little bit. I had a chance to try some new and different foods that I hadn't before - so that was cool. There are signs asking you not to bring food out of the cafeteria for obvious reasons, but you can make a sandwich to take out for 80NOK. The showers are a bit strange and we ended up with water all over the bathroom floor, but I'm just going to assume that I wasn't using it properly. I won't hold that against the hotel. :P I found the free wi-fi to be just fine. I didn't try to stream movies or anything, but for basic internet use I found it fast and reliable. The location was perfect, as we were there to see a show at the Folkentheateret, which is just down the street - as is everything else! It's only a few minutes walk from Central Station which made our getting from and to the airport very easy. There's a Kiwi, which is a grocery chain just a couple of minutes away, as is a McDonalds if you're looking for your fast-food fix. There are 7-11's EVERYWHERE. There is complimentary coffee and tea in the lobby all the time, and the bar is pretty cute as well. There are no ice machines, but you can go down to the bar to get some if you need it. When the bar is closed, just go to the front desk and they'll get it for you. All in all we enjoyed our stay. Nothing special about the Anker Hotel, but if you're looking for good value and a reasonable price, it's pretty good!

Yelp
Very centrally located in Oslo with basic, but tidy standard. Breakfast included with both warm and cold alternatives, but missed better selection in the cereal bar. Both the restaurant and bar were clean and nice, but a little dull with typical white walls and celing like an institution. Price very affordable though Value for money!

Yelp
Super accommodating, and the staff couldn't be nicer. A huge thank you to Rafael at the front desk for making a wonderful vacation better - you are the best!

Yelp
Clean and comfortable but nothing special. The shower takes some getting used to as it does not have a separate shower tub but is 'on the floor'. The staff is friendly but they could use an extra person to help with storing luggage. Pretty much everyone can go in the storage room and take luggage. Nobody checks tags or even comes with you. The rooms could also use some darker curtains. When it's light out after midnight it's hard to fall asleep when the room is still bright. Our room was also overlooking a residential building and screaming kids playing in the parking lot woke us up every morning at 8 am. So windows are definitely not sound proof.

Yelp
This place can not decide if it is an upscale hostel with private rooms and breakfast or a hotel with small no frills rooms and a buffet. Yeaaaa! Free internet in the room's. Welcome to the new century. If you are looking for a concierge, bellman and valet with a European breakfast buffet, forget it. They have none of that. If you are looking for cheap, no frills downtown accommodations with a lot of barely making it guests, this is the place to stay. Small Scandinavian style rooms with efficient space. But none of the rare wood or fine furniture I have found at other places. It's not dirty. But if you are into big fluffy clean towels and clean crisp sheets every day, forget it again. They say completely remodeled in 2010. It's Summer 2013 and it's dog eared in my opinion. A special word about the included breakfast. Easy to skip. Way not special. My traveling companion wouldn't even go down for coffee after the first day. Crowded with hostel guests who seemed to be having their first warm meal inside in a while.

Yelp
I had a training course in this hotel, so I decided to stay here as well for simplicities sake. Meh, it was okay. Upon check in, one guest was complaining about someone stealing his luggage out of the lobby and just walking out of the hotel. So, there's that. I had an easy check in and the room was perfect for my sleeping needs. The restaurant is basically a cafeteria buffet for breakfast, but the food was satisfactory. I really can't complain too much. It was just okay in my book.

Yelp
Strictly no frills place. They change sheets once in 5 days. Lobby bar is quite good.

Yelp
The hotel is pretty close to everything which is great, and the view from our room at the 11th floor is beautiful. Other than that, it's not special in any way. Decor is trying to be modern but looks hard and cold. The rooms are fine, but the showers very small. No "we're sleeping in"tags for the door, so cleaning just barges in. The rooms are clean, but paint is scaling off the ceiling. It costs money to watch TV and the wifi keeps shutting down and is sloooow. Would rather pay for an hour of efficient internet, rather than being logged off every five mins. Breakfast buffet is ok but bland. Don't expect much choice if you are a vegetarian or vegan as most of the food is meat based. I'm lactose intolerant and not a huge fan of meat in the morning so I had very little options. The staff is friendly, but upon check in couldn't give us a receipt for payment and you have to pay in advance for your entire stay. All in all a pretty basic hotel that is fine if you're just looking for a reasonably (for Oslo) priced hotel.

Yelp
This hotel is cheap for Oslo but would probably still be considered fairly expensive anywhere else. The lobby and reception area are very nice, with quite a homely feel despite the large size, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The dining area is clean and the breakfast buffet is delicious (although I still haven't figured out what the fishy tasting pancake things are). The rooms are small and quite dull looking (for some reason they chose grey for the colour of the blankets) but they are clean, tidy and fine if it's just somewhere to sleep. The location of the hotel is excellent, being just a 10 minute walk from the centre of Oslo. There are several places to eat and drink within a short walk and if you're on a budget then this is a great base. Warning: Don't get this hotel mixed up with the Anker Hostel next door that shares the same address!

Yelp
Kommer nok til å bo her igjen.
