A good, simple hotel! The room were good, simple but modern. The breakfast was so so good, fresh, alot of options and just delicious! The hotel is close to the city, you can walk or the tram is just outside the hotel. The hotel is also close to the "fjord" and you can follow it to the city central. Alot of restaurants close by and shops. I recommend this hotel!

We stayed here for 2 nights and it was a lovely little oasis, quiet, calm and lovely staff. Room was very clean and had everything we needed. We booked a cheaper room type and were extremely happy with it, far more spacious than other hotels we have been in. Breakfast Restaurant gets very busy, they put a guide to peak times in the elevator which was brilliant (we managed to avoid the rush on day two). Breakfast offering was phenomenal - so much variety, fresh and delicious. The Reception team are top notch, and have an effortless service style that is also warm and engaging. Super close to amazing vintage stores, cafés and restaurants. Highly recommend this hotel if you’re visiting Oslo.

The hotel is in a good location. The street to the station is a place for people on drugs, but we did walk from the station to the hotel at 2:00 AM with no issues, just not the street for families. In the other direction there are many restaurants. There is a great laundry not far away. The breakfast is good. There is no fridge in the room or tea or coffee. There is an ironing room!! They give a great breakfast box for early departures.

We enjoyed our stay here, thank you. Thr breakfast was exceptional, the rooms clean and tidy, really close to the center of the city. And the price more than affordable.

Excellent location with walking and tram right out front to local attractions. Excellent front desk service with one employee waiting til new shift came at midnight to come up And try to fix the TV. ||Excellent extensive breakfast buffet with breads and pastries and gluten section separate to prevent cross contamination. ||Eggs, crisp bacons, beans, meats, incredible blue cheese, creaks and so much more. I love the gluten free seeded flat breads and guava juice. ||Ample rooms with clean walk-in shower and one kind of soap.||Small desk in room and a few hangers ||Book exchange in lobby. Great lobby bar ||Accessible entry with round turnstil door. Accessible lobby and elevators. Low ambient noise

Great location when visiting. The breakfast is the best I've had at any hotel. Wish they had a refrigerator to keep some drinks cool. We came during a warm time and this hotel has no a/c with no available fan. The window open and we were able to get a fan somewhere else to help up be able to sleep.

This hotel was chosen by our tour company. Northern European accommodations are a shock to Americans who have never left the US. The rooms are VERY small, the beds are usually twins, pushed together or not, and instead of a frame, box spring and mattress, what you get is an upholstered box spring/frame, and 2-3” mattress topper, and a thin duvet encased in a sheet cover. Personally, I like the arrangement because my husband snores. Also, there is NEVER enough room to open two carry on suitcases at the same time. There may be a luggage rack, it may work, but there will never be two racks, or space for two opened suitcases. Also, bring your own washcloths. Europe does not do washcloths. At all. Nor does South America if my memory is correct. Public restrooms usually have blowers, no towels. I do not care to stand in a restroom long enough to blow my hands dry, with other people blasting their insufficiently washed hand germs in the space. I bring another washcloth, keep it in a ziploc in my purse, and dry my hands on it. U.K. accommodations are slightly different, bed-wise. This hotel was conveniently located on a tram line. And convenient to shopping and restaurants.

Yelp
We booked Anker on a whim- our normal hotel was booked for our first night in Oslo so we went with Anker. First thing to note is there's a hostel side and a hotel side. We stayed at the hotel- which was lovely. Tacking the train from the airport to the city center will leave you with a 14 minute walk to the hotel. With luggage this wasn't ideal, we'll Uber moving forward. Once inside it was nice but simple- honestly it's what we expected in Oslo outside of the 4/5 star hotels we have booked for later in the trip. We had a large room which fit two perfectly, and the beds were super comfortable. Free WiFi which is expected in my opinion, and a breakfast Buffett in the morning. I found staff to be friendly and we actually had no issues during our one night stay. I'm not sure if I would stay here for more than two nights based on needing a little more from a hotel room but it's a solid choice. Oslo is expensive so be prepared to spend money, even on a limited frill hotel for a night,

Its very cute hotel in the middle of the city and staff here friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay. Everything is in walkable distance and nice views from the room

Yelp
Great hotel and in a perfect location for travel. I'm taking away a star for the lack of wifi access in the rooms. As an international traveler that is a must. To be told that it's accessible only in the lobby and not in the rooms isn't a fix. To be told it's been like that for years makes it worse. To be told they keep saying they're going to fix it doesn't make it better either. Bleck. Too hard to plan anything on a trip when you can't access the internet, especially when you pay a bit more to get a hotel with the wifi. Let's move on your the 4 stars because if they can fix the internet you SHOULD stay here! The woman who greeted us at the desk was awesome and friendly. We came early thinking we'd just be able to store our luggage but our room was ready! Yahoo!! The room was perfect. Super comfy. We had 3 beds and 2 could be pushed together as well. I would love to see some usb outlets or plugs near the beds. Super helpful with cell phones being used as alarm clocks. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfy and no issues with the bathroom. There was also a TV so that was a plus. As far as getting there, it's an easy walk from the main station but you can jump up on a tram to get there. With the construction going on and the iffy few blocks right before the hotel, I'd get off on the stop after the hotel. It's actually a shorter walk.

Yelp
We stayed here from February 14-22 2016 and we were quite happy with the hotel. It's nothing special, very basic, but affordable and we got a great package. The rooms are a little small, and the beds were single - but they are some of the most comfortable beds that I've ever slept on in a hotel. The pillows not so much, but it didn't make or break my sleep, lol. Checking in was smooth and fast, and the employees at the front desk were great throughout our entire stay. I was able to buy postcards to send home and they put together all the postage and such for me and shipped them off. Awesome! The morning buffet breakfast is alright, but we were pretty tired of it by the third day as they don't seem to ever switch it up even a little bit. I had a chance to try some new and different foods that I hadn't before - so that was cool. There are signs asking you not to bring food out of the cafeteria for obvious reasons, but you can make a sandwich to take out for 80NOK. The showers are a bit strange and we ended up with water all over the bathroom floor, but I'm just going to assume that I wasn't using it properly. I won't hold that against the hotel. :P I found the free wi-fi to be just fine. I didn't try to stream movies or anything, but for basic internet use I found it fast and reliable. The location was perfect, as we were there to see a show at the Folkentheateret, which is just down the street - as is everything else! It's only a few minutes walk from Central Station which made our getting from and to the airport very easy. There's a Kiwi, which is a grocery chain just a couple of minutes away, as is a McDonalds if you're looking for your fast-food fix. There are 7-11's EVERYWHERE. There is complimentary coffee and tea in the lobby all the time, and the bar is pretty cute as well. There are no ice machines, but you can go down to the bar to get some if you need it. When the bar is closed, just go to the front desk and they'll get it for you. All in all we enjoyed our stay. Nothing special about the Anker Hotel, but if you're looking for good value and a reasonable price, it's pretty good!

Yelp
Very centrally located in Oslo with basic, but tidy standard. Breakfast included with both warm and cold alternatives, but missed better selection in the cereal bar. Both the restaurant and bar were clean and nice, but a little dull with typical white walls and celing like an institution. Price very affordable though Value for money!

Yelp
Super accommodating, and the staff couldn't be nicer. A huge thank you to Rafael at the front desk for making a wonderful vacation better - you are the best!

Yelp
Clean and comfortable but nothing special. The shower takes some getting used to as it does not have a separate shower tub but is 'on the floor'. The staff is friendly but they could use an extra person to help with storing luggage. Pretty much everyone can go in the storage room and take luggage. Nobody checks tags or even comes with you. The rooms could also use some darker curtains. When it's light out after midnight it's hard to fall asleep when the room is still bright. Our room was also overlooking a residential building and screaming kids playing in the parking lot woke us up every morning at 8 am. So windows are definitely not sound proof.

Yelp
This place can not decide if it is an upscale hostel with private rooms and breakfast or a hotel with small no frills rooms and a buffet. Yeaaaa! Free internet in the room's. Welcome to the new century. If you are looking for a concierge, bellman and valet with a European breakfast buffet, forget it. They have none of that. If you are looking for cheap, no frills downtown accommodations with a lot of barely making it guests, this is the place to stay. Small Scandinavian style rooms with efficient space. But none of the rare wood or fine furniture I have found at other places. It's not dirty. But if you are into big fluffy clean towels and clean crisp sheets every day, forget it again. They say completely remodeled in 2010. It's Summer 2013 and it's dog eared in my opinion. A special word about the included breakfast. Easy to skip. Way not special. My traveling companion wouldn't even go down for coffee after the first day. Crowded with hostel guests who seemed to be having their first warm meal inside in a while.

Yelp
I had a training course in this hotel, so I decided to stay here as well for simplicities sake. Meh, it was okay. Upon check in, one guest was complaining about someone stealing his luggage out of the lobby and just walking out of the hotel. So, there's that. I had an easy check in and the room was perfect for my sleeping needs. The restaurant is basically a cafeteria buffet for breakfast, but the food was satisfactory. I really can't complain too much. It was just okay in my book.

Yelp
Strictly no frills place. They change sheets once in 5 days. Lobby bar is quite good.

Yelp
The hotel is pretty close to everything which is great, and the view from our room at the 11th floor is beautiful. Other than that, it's not special in any way. Decor is trying to be modern but looks hard and cold. The rooms are fine, but the showers very small. No "we're sleeping in"tags for the door, so cleaning just barges in. The rooms are clean, but paint is scaling off the ceiling. It costs money to watch TV and the wifi keeps shutting down and is sloooow. Would rather pay for an hour of efficient internet, rather than being logged off every five mins. Breakfast buffet is ok but bland. Don't expect much choice if you are a vegetarian or vegan as most of the food is meat based. I'm lactose intolerant and not a huge fan of meat in the morning so I had very little options. The staff is friendly, but upon check in couldn't give us a receipt for payment and you have to pay in advance for your entire stay. All in all a pretty basic hotel that is fine if you're just looking for a reasonably (for Oslo) priced hotel.

Yelp
This hotel is cheap for Oslo but would probably still be considered fairly expensive anywhere else. The lobby and reception area are very nice, with quite a homely feel despite the large size, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The dining area is clean and the breakfast buffet is delicious (although I still haven't figured out what the fishy tasting pancake things are). The rooms are small and quite dull looking (for some reason they chose grey for the colour of the blankets) but they are clean, tidy and fine if it's just somewhere to sleep. The location of the hotel is excellent, being just a 10 minute walk from the centre of Oslo. There are several places to eat and drink within a short walk and if you're on a budget then this is a great base. Warning: Don't get this hotel mixed up with the Anker Hostel next door that shares the same address!

Yelp
Kommer nok til å bo her igjen.
