How to Spend 24 Hours in Raleigh, North Carolina (Updated 2025)

"As part of the North Carolina Museum of Art experience I like walking the Ann and Jim Goodnight Museum Park’s trails through natural areas to see more than a dozen commissioned works of art and enjoy the outdoor gallery setting." - Matthew Kepnes

Plenty of trails to walk on, I just get tangled up what trail leads where 😵‍💫 But I know the more I walk on them I'll get the hang of the area. All and all beautiful place to walk around, and there's a café inside the museum for food and drinks, a perfect way to end the walk.

Comfortable walking, beautiful park for learning about the native plants of North Carolina. I now understand the charm of the magnolia tree, the taste of a mulberry and the steamy heat of a Southern summer day.

Such an amazing experience and the food at the Cafe was delicious. Will definitely be going back since we didn't get to see the entire museum or the park.

I'm taken back by how gorgeous this park is! It has a variety of trails that are paved, dirt, or gravel with a range of environments from meadows to forests to playgrounds and ponds. The integration of nature and art is amazing and perfect for a leisurely stroll or a little hike. This park has a little bit of everything for everyone

Lots of walking trails spread amongst numerous outdoor sculptures. Most good for pedestrians and cyclists. Leashed dogs allowed. Plenty of places to hang out and picnic

I drive 20 minutes to just go to the park. Wonderful swings, nice cafe tables, lots of outdoor space, lots of walking trails, neat outdoor artwork. There seems to be a professional photographer there every time I go. Lots of good people watching so much variety.

This park was absolutely incredible! Miles of walking trails, art installations, abundant parking, gentle rolling hills and the restored meadow is a feast for the senses. So peaceful. Next time I will take a picnic basket and spend an entire afternoon there.

This was the perfect place for a walk in the late afternoon before sunset. The park has nearly five miles of paved and unpaved walking trails with more than 30 amazing sculptures and art installations to enjoy. There are plenty of options for places to stroll, enjoy a picnic or just relax on the grass.
