After spending a good amount of time at the beach, I decided to stop by for a drinkand I’m really glad I did. The bartenders are seriously awesome super friendly and genuinely cool people. One of the best parts is their souvenir mug promotion: you buy the mug and get 50% off beer for life, which is honestly such a great deal. A 20 oz beer is around $13, and after the discount it’s about $6, which is pretty hard to beat. The environment is perfect, chill, fun, and comfortable. They even had someone playing guitar live, which made the vibe even better. There are plenty of chairs and little stands so you can settle in and relax. My only small suggestion: I’d love to see a bit more shade over the tables. But honestly, you’re at the beach so it’s understandable. Overall, highly recommend if you want good drinks, great vibes, and a place you’ll want to come back to.

Ate here for the first time today for breakfast. Short walk on the beach from our air bnb. Had the 2 eggs, wheat toast, home fried potatoes and bacon and the gravy w/ biscuits and 2 eggs. Biscuits and gravy were good but the eggs, bacon, & potatoes was great! Coffee was ok..soda good..Nice to be able to eat directly on the beach. They offer ayce pancakes for 7.99! Would return. definitely return.

Google
Great variety of food and the all you can eat pancakes are irresistible! The staff is super friendly and very efficient even at peak hours. The drinks are tasty and can't be beat with your toes in the sand!! This is a must visit every time I go to AMI!

Jeffrey W.

Google
Several vendors on the beach. Typical beach food and drinks selection. Kids playground on Holmes, Manatee Beach access area. The picnic area has picnic benches and grills and shaded for the most part. Very clean and free of garbage as the cleaning crew on the beach is phenomenal.

david B.

Google
So far so good. Seems to be good beach fare. Posted current prices on menu. The cups they sell at the bar are a good deal if you plan to come back for a few days. The AYCE pancakes are popular. I enjoyed them.

Google
Amazing beach!! Delicious breakfast on Manatee Beach at the Anna Maria Island Beach Cafe! We arrived at 9:15 am on a Sunday and got one of the last parking spots. Must arrive early on the weekend. Excellent breakfast with a million dollar view! The Belgian Waffle was delicious! After breakfast we sat on the beach for a few hours then went up and had some drinks at the bar and sat in the shade. Clean bathrooms. Such an amazing spot! Can’t wait to return!

Jen H.

Google
Perfect beach front lunch spot, we walked for miles popped in barefoot and had a yummy lunch. Wish they made their own tartar sauce and Cole slaw otherwise perfect!

James L.

Google
Breakfast was very good, menu had a lot of options. We had some go for the "all you can eat" pancakes 🥞 that comes with sausage patties the first go round, biscuits and gravy with bacon, waffle with strawberries and whipped cream and even French toast... there were no complaints for any of it, everyone left with full bellies! Food came out quickly as well! Will be going back again during our stay!

Yelp
Excellent food, staff and location. Loved breakfast here. Just perfect for lazy beach day. Shop staff really nice ladies

Yelp
Anna Maria Island Beach Café is officially on my radar as the perfect spot to bring my mother and her friends for a relaxing beach day. Everything there is so easy. The food is right on the sand, the bathrooms are close by, and the beach is only a few steps from anything you need. They even have those little shops where you can grab sunscreen, hats, floats, or whatever you forgot in the car or at home. The whole setup feels a little like cruise-ship convenience mixed with a touch of Disney charm and the comfort of a 55-and-over community, and somehow it works. It brings the seventy-plus crowd and the grandkids together in a way that feels natural and fun. It's simple, accessible, and stress-free, which is exactly why I can see us spending a really lovely day there.

Yelp
Our group stopped at the AMI beach cafe for drinks and lunch during our beach day this past week. The service T the bar counter was phenomenal. The bartenders were friendly and prompt. We all were sold on the insulated cups because of the discounted refills forever and their ability to hold ice on the 85+ degree beach for a long period of time. The food menu was typical for what you'd see at a beachside cafe, but the quality and portions were surprising. My friend and I decided to split an order of chicken tenders, sweet potato waffle fries, and the chicken cesar salad wrap. It was entirely too much food! All of it was delicious, though. The waffle fries would've been a little crispier, but they tasted great. The chicken tenders came with at least 6 piled high on top of regular fries that unfortunately lacked salt and were a little squishy. The chicken cesar salad wrap was served warm, packed full of chicken, cheese, lettuce, and cesar dressing. We're looking forward to future visits to this cafe!

Yelp
A convenient beachfront dining spot right on Manatee public beach. It's order-at-the-counter style with the option for takeout (50 cents more) or dine-in (you get a number and your food is brought to you). They have lots of plastic beach chairs for dine-in and wires overhead to prevent seagulls from swooping in to steal your food. We got the grilled fish tacos and they were absolutely delicious and at a fair price for a beachfront location ($14 for two reasonably sized tacos). Our food was prepared quickly and was warm and fresh. I would definitely come back for a beach day lunch or snack!

Yelp
Sunday morning breakfast, 2 people, $40. Nothing homemade. Corned beef hash from a can, chicken fried steak prepackaged, grits with no seasoning. Disappointing. We paid to eat mediocre food at the beach. Maybe the all you can eat pancakes or the sweet options are better. And maybe this is better as an afternoon spot to grab a beer and food. But we won't be back or recommend.
google avatar

Brianna M.

Yelp
First time ever stumbling on this place as this isn't my usual beach spot but nonetheless it was a great find!! I will definitely be back as they have so many yummy things to eat on the menu. I was not there too long so just grabbed a drink and was not disappointed, service was great, everything was fast and extremely clean, bonus points to the tiki cafe for discounted refills when you buy the tumbler cups and/or the whole pineapple situation as you see in the pic! Always planning my next trip back to try the all you can eat pancakes!!

Yelp
Great relax beach cafe. Food is good, but not amazing. We had some burgers that were decent and wraps were actually pretty good. But mostly Come here for the views and the beach. You ordered your food from a window and they bring it to you.

Vicki F.

Yelp
We have been going to Manatee Beach Cafe for many years We always recommend it to people who are visiting Bradenton and the beaches. We won't be going anymore. We will not be advising anyone to go there anymore for the reason Every time we go there's a man right in front obstructing the view with a huge Trump's signs I do believe nobody wants to have politics thrown in their face and ruin the few and the atmosphere for everyone. No matter what your position is on politics. We all go there to relax, not be controversial If he can put up that sign everyday, maybe we can all put up our real estate signs or our businesses or what we believe. Pretty soon we'll have a whole Beach full of advertisements and self-promotions. It's really sad and I've heard many people visiting out there. Wondering why? Why is that allowed? We will miss you as we have enjoyed breakfast, lunches and dinners and just cocktails out there for many years. But I'm sick and tired of looking at that huge sign and I think probably many others are too

Yelp
Depends what you get We always go for the fish tacos!! And eggplant fries !! And good local beer Yum.... They make one of the best fish tacos in the local area !! Cool ambiance in the beach - great place for a sunset munch ... Order at the window and they bring it to your table !!

Dennis J.

Yelp
Ambience. Sunset. Service. Music. Food. Fun Everyone from somewhere else. Everyone happy

Yelp
We stopped by Anna Maria Beach Café for breakfast as it's close to our hotel. The portions are generous, and the kids loved the unlimited pancakes, that was definitely a win. That said, the food overall reminded us of an IHOP-style diner: nothing bad, just pretty standard. If you're looking for a quick, family-friendly meal with a beach view, it does the job but don't expect anything memorable.
google avatar

Yvonne V.

Yelp
Food not great. Service could be much better, But the ambiance was amazing. Must be a hit or miss

Gina M.

Yelp
The food & service was fabulous! The only drawback was all the bees, but, I realize that bees in the area are a good thing, so I'm not even mad about it, just dropped a star and wanted to let ppl know, in case they have allergies to bees, in which case this is not a great option. I'll say again, tho, the food was REALLY good and I'll definitely be back! EDITED to say "I love when business owners write back!" And, I was a tool for docking a star on account of BEES!‍

Yelp
Anna maria island beach cafe: right on the beach, small tiki bar, food options (seafood- burgers, salads, and sandwiches), and ice cream. order a beer, or cocktail, or enjoy the stunning views of the Gulf of Mexico while you eat. When you visit Anna Maria Island Beach Cafe, you'll feel like you're in paradise. If you're looking for a fun place to spend the day, Anna Maria Island Beach Cafe is the perfect spot. The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is laid-back. Sit at a table on the beach, wiggling your toes in the sand while sipping a rum runner. Daily entertainment starts at 5:30 PM we ordered fish and chips, and beer (see the sea, sand & sun with beer in hand). spent around 60-70 minutes while the sun was about to set, we left to see the sunset from Rod & Reel Pier. time well spent... Parking: Municipal Parking, It is free but gets full easily, so wait in one lane for 10-15 minutes, and you can grab a spot
google avatar

Peter T.

Yelp
Well this place is everything you'd expect for a beach restaurant. They had tables out in the sand they had tables on the patio. There was a good mix of sunshade. No music when we are there but I suspect you come in the evening you'll have a good time and watch the sunset. All three of us enjoyed our meals but the best part was the ice cream. Two out of three had salads. They were all fresh and good. The grilled cheese was so so I think our captains a little too old for it. Fries are included if your child but for adults you have to order them extra. But we do it again absolutely. Our captain wants to go back for the all you can eat pancakes. Even though I explained to her Peggy and I can only do one. seven bucks for all you can eat they're making pretty good money. Enclosing this place is worth a trip particularly if you can catch the sunset it's a great spot.

Sharon C.

Yelp
Sunglasses were stolen. Moved from a table to a different table and forgot them. Went back 15 minutes later and they were gone. Very few people were there. Steel drum player. They are designer glasses.
google avatar

Heily P.

Yelp
I really like this beach and having all of these food options there makes it taste better then maybe it is. Overall they have great customer service, so many options, and great prices. We enjoyed our lunch and will def eat from here again. I highly recommend

Justin R.

Yelp
Food, Drinks, Service, Views, everything was 5 star ! Highly recommend the bacon cheeseburger! Along with the banana daiquiri to wash it down !
google avatar

Kristy A.

Yelp
Food- kids meal only brings half a sandwich and fries were cold. Service awful- no hello no thank you (even after tipping) Ambiance- beach vibes. Downfall birds will attack you for your food. Oh well, we tried it! Biggest thing to work on is customer service. Maybe better quality food especially for the beach prices. The best part is the view, who doesn't love the ocean! I would stop here as last resort.
google avatar

Angela C.

Yelp
I have been here a few times. I had the Grouper sandwich and an appetizer that was great. I have been there for the bottomless pancakes. Feet are always in the sand while eating. Service is always good. Ambiance is beautiful of course ! It's the beach !

Marissa A.

Yelp
Great location and vibes. Went for breakfast because we were staying across the street and ended up staying for lunch and drinks. Right on the beach so I could walk off my breakfast and come back for a cold seltzer and lunch. I recommend the fish tacos and all you can eat pancakes.

Jen J.

Yelp
Atmosphere is fun but don't waste your time for breakfast. Food was less than average and service was minimal
google avatar

Bailey K.

Yelp
Great beach cafe. Right on the beach! A little crowded but has plenty of seating. Food was just right. Price was decent. Perfect spot to grab a meal while enjoying the public beach

Yelp
Good day to all my loyal fans, To begin, I want to say what a scary last couple years it has been. The threat of an imminent collision between Earth and Saturn has truly shaken me. In response to this, I have spent the last 29 months in my shelter located 15 feet underground (location undisclosed, can't afford to be breached!). Anyways, as the old saying goes, the cat kills curiosity and one day I woke up to a feeling of empowerment! This was absolutely wonderful and before I knew it I laced up my tennis shoes and ventured outside to see if the earth was still in tact. As soon as I opened the hatch I began to cry profusely, could it be the earth still exists?? I quickly suppressed my meibomian glands as the conservation of water is key for survival. I spent the next day pacing back and forth, deciding whether to remain underground in safety or if I should reward myself with an excursion. After multiple hours I had come to my conclusion, I would excursion to an island. In the event of war, islands have multiple advantages. Attacking can be difficult as the enemies hand is forced to attack via boat or air, land attacks are simply impossible (well, unless there are bridges or some other means of connection). One thing my fans have learned about me is that once I, Jerry N. McCormick, have decided on something, nothing can stand in my way (well, except natural disasters or cheetahs). So, before I could consume my next repast my journey began and I arrived via a secret mode of transportation to Anna Maria Island. I chose this island due to the claims of water being on all sides (remember - the tactical advantage!) and for no other reason. Once on the surface, I found a building described as a bar and grill. What is confusing however is that there was no bar, or grill! Distraught, I decided to indulge in an adult beverage to calm my rage. Known as a piña colada, this drink was first created in New Jersey. Upon my statement of desires, I was questioned. What size do you want, do you want a straw? This took me back as I was unaware I was in an interrogation! Bewildered, I frantically said "small and straw" probably because the two S's went together, just like my shelter and canned rations. About 3.4 minutes later it arrived, not mixed. Disappointed, I used my complimentary straw (remember, I ordered it!) and tried to mix it and spilled all of adult juice leaving me with a sad flavored icy mix. Furthermore, this mixed beverage was priced at $17 American! When I went underground 29 months ago, a similar cocktail (why are mixed drinks called this - I think it's quite vulgar!) was a mere 236 Egyptian pounds. As I continue to write I am noticed I am being limited my Yelp, LLC and must conclude my review. Be sure to like and subscribe for more reviews as my shelter collapsed meaning I am forced in the over world and cannot be in the underworld as I desire. Remember citizens, the war is only beginning. Yelp
Great little place on the island. Love their coffee. Breakfast food French toast to the omelettes are all great. Kicker is you can sit at tables on the beach which makes for a lovely breakfast. Can get a little nuts on the holidays but which beach place is not

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
We came for lunch because Skinny's was too crowded. Burgers, hot dogs, fries and onion rings for 8 of us. Everyone liked the food plus we were able to get a table to sit at on the beach with water views. Seating was a big problem at Skinny's.
google avatar

Dale G.

Yelp
Giving it a 4 star since you have to order at a window but otherwise a good spot while you're on the beach. Plenty of seating, fast service and I had a delicious Greek salad worth the $11. I'll eat here again when I'm at the beach.
google avatar

Gloria L.

Yelp
Anna Maria Beach Cafe is on Holmes Beach. They serve breakfast and lunch daily. Breakfast is from opening until 11pm during the week and until noon on weekends. They advertise the All You Can Eat Pancakes. I have never tried it but people say it's good. You can't beat grabbing a bite and eating it at their tables or taking it to your chairs at water's edge. There is a window with the menu above where you order. We have had the fish & chips with fries, grilled fish salad and a burger. All have been good. I really like their grilled fish with a blackened seasoning. Prices are higher than in town but are to be expected getting to eat right on the beach. And you can't beat the ambiance! I recommend and will definitely be back!
google avatar

Don C.

Yelp
Food was pretty good here. Got the Philly chicken sandwich and it was good. Peppers were sliced a bit thick and the iced coffee that I bought was okay at best. The bar is nice but the pineapple drink was overpriced and not real strong. Servers were all great
google avatar

Miranda S.

Yelp
Chaotic. The female who that takes the orders at the window is rude! Yelling for you to hurry and the worse part is she's rushing you to order food that doesn't even taste good. SMH. I'll give it a star for location
google avatar

Bumble B.

Yelp
Hubby and I stopped here for breakfast during our recent vacation in AMI. There aren't any signs to tell you how to order/pick-up your food. The older woman at the counter at the time wasn't too friendly when she took our orders. However, we were able to figure it out. The food was good and filling and even though you're sitting outside, it didn't feel hot because of the shade from the trees/building. It was busy when we went but there are plenty of tables of chairs.

Don T.

Yelp
Olivia - Fantasic service and a Great Bloody Mary! Highly recommended with being a new hire and bartender!
google avatar

Jessica G.

Yelp
Convenient location on the beach. We grabbed breakfast before hitting the beach. Waffle was good, pancakes were ok and a little overpriced.

Yelp
My family and I are spending some time in the beautiful Anna Maria Island, Florida weather while kids are doing their distance learning. The first house we stayed in was very close to Anna Maria Island Beach Cafe, which sits on the public Manatee Beach. We headed that way for breakfast our first morning on the island. Orders are placed at a window and a number given to place on any of the well-spaced out tables in the sand. The food comes quickly and is surprisingly good! So good we had lunch at the same spot later that same day. For lunch, I ordered the Island Wrap with blackened chicken ($7.99). The wrap was packed with delicious blackened chicken and the chutney added some sweetness to compliment the spicy seasoning. I also ordered onion rings ($6.99) which seemed a little pricey upon ordering, but the serving size was so generous that it was enough for our entire family! We also had carryout one other afternoon last week. This time I had a solid chicken salad wrap ($7.99) and sweet potato fries ($7.99). Again the serving of sweet potato fries was huge. These fries were more like curly chips, thinly spiral sliced potatoes. I didn't like these as much as the onion rings, but the marshmallow dipping sauce was interesting. My wife liked the blackened fish tacos ($9.99) so much she ordered them both times. The kids were huge fans of the grilled cheese ($4.99) with fruit or fries. Overall the food was good, the service was fast, and their outdoor dining space is very nice!
google avatar

Kyle V.

Yelp
This beach bar is exactly what you'd expect. Casual atmosphere with tons of outdoor seating. You order from a window, find a table, and they bring your food out to you. You can go order drinks from their outdoor bar while you wait for your food. They had a DJ playing music and people were dancing, which was funny to watch. The DJ made everyone stand up and watch the sunset as he sang a patriotic song, which was comical. The food is your typical average beach concession stand food. The fries were boring and plain but the fish was surprisingly tasty. The portions were large and the food arrived pretty quickly. The staff was very friendly and they were following covid guidelines. They were clearing plates and constantly cleaning. Overall, it's a nice spot to enjoy the sunset and have dinner but don't expect anything special with the food.
google avatar

Kourtney L.

Yelp
Great place if you want a laid back vibe with cheaper but good food. Great vibe & great views. Staff was so sweet.

Mary Jo W.

Yelp
Today I had lunch at the café at Holmes Beach . I have not frequent the island since the two hurricanes. I had the fish and chips platter and it was just as delicious plenty full and satisfying as always and I was very happy to see a lot of of the same workers.
google avatar

Samantha H.

Yelp
Chicken tender platter is enough for two adults! Reusable tumbler was a must have. I got the pink one!
google avatar

Macy S.

Yelp
Great casual spot on the beach...yummy drinks from the bamboo bar & decent fast food options at the cafe. Always a great spot to walk to on the beach. 4/5 stars for a rude bartender the last time we stopped by. Also wish they had more live music to pick up the vibe
google avatar

Anna R.

Yelp
Great vibe and views. Food was decent, just a little pricey! But worth it to get to sit on the sand. I just love the casual vibe of this island. The gift shop has great prices also!
google avatar

Andrew J.

Yelp
Stopped at the beach side bar and had Jessica as our bar tender. Wonder service and great ambiance. We got food from the cafe as well and the fish tacos and seafood player were good. Avoid the fries. Service from Jessica was 5 star all the way.
google avatar

Lena Y.

Yelp
Great spot to catch sunset! Lots of parking, and seating is first come first serve. We went on a night there was live music. Remember to wear appropriate attire since it can get chilly.
google avatar

Daphnie P.

Yelp
The food is good for a beach Cafe with good options. Clean . Family oriented. Fast service and the food came out quick on a busy Sunny Thanksgiving day. They have showers and bathrooms for the public to use. Must visit if your in the Island.
google avatar

Marty B.

Yelp
Positives: great, friendly service. Great views, great location! Drinks are reasonably priced for a touristy area. Decent menu. Wish list: healthier menu options, TV's at the outside tiki bar.
google avatar

Tanya K.

Yelp
While the beer was cold and the view gorgeous, the food left a lot to be desired. It's beach prices so I would expect a little more. I ordered a chicken wrap and it was literally just chicken and lettuce. We got burgers also and they were just ok.

Krista H.

Yelp
The food was cold and both of there coffees tasted like water.it came out fast but I wouldn't recommend eating here
google avatar

Deb M.

Yelp
Outdoor, beach cafe. Went here for breakfast. Eggs Benedict decent - oatmeal average - omelet undercooked, middle was runny and watery, vegetables not cooked - fried potatoes undercooked and tasteless. Person cleaning tables feeding pigeons in dining area. Very overpriced - $50+. There are better breakfast places on the island.
google avatar

Kimberley Y.

Yelp
We ate here on a whim because it was next to our cottage. We ordered the blackened fish tacos...AMAZING! We never made it back because I wanted to try other places on the island. Nothing compared!! I loved this place because it sits right on the beach, yeah you order at a window... but we sat at the tiki bar while we waited and they brought it to us. Skip the Ugly Grouper and go here and get real fish tacos instead!!! Yum! They were sooo good. I didn't get a picture of the tacos, they were so delicious. Tip: they give discounted refills on the fancy plastic cups
google avatar

Anna P.

Yelp
Great casual spot to get simple and cheap but tasty fast food, watch the crowd and the sunset, and enjoy some live music in the evening. Tip #1: the fish tacos are huge and really good! Tip #2: when you order the cocktails at the bar, you get a souvenir glass that entitles you to get refills at a discount
