Feels like Grandmas kitchen! Delicious, fresh food, warm, friendly service and conversation, all with a true feel of a Mediterranean restaurant. The two ladies working were very kind, welcoming and friendly. The grilled calamari, Lasagna, the 14oz Steak and fresh Sea Bass were all truly excellent plates. This is a hidden gem in Vaughan that I’d definitely recommend to all!

We ordered the seafood linguine and the spicy sausage pasta. Outstanding flavour. Sam was our host and was so courteous and attentive. He gave us recommendations on wine and did not fail us. I ordered the tiramisu cake at the end. They delivered as it had one of the most authentic tastes. They have earned a regular customer.

We had a great Italian lunch here. an elegant and quiet restaurant! We had calamari Grigio, Linguine Diavolo, Fettucine Olindo, they are all very delicious! We were served by Maria, a truly kind and helpful lady! We will definitely come back again!

Great food and service. Pizzas are great and a good selection of pasta dishes. I have also been here for a family celebration and we had great service then too.

We were just here for lunch doing a work meeting with one our our customers. Maria served us and she was great host! She made us feel like we were at home. I was searching for a nice Italian place by our customer we were visiting today and Anna Maria Trattoria came up. This place has a cozy ambience and the food portions were big! The pizza and pastas we had were fresh and very tasty! Our customer had one of the shrimp pasta dishes and we were impressed by the generous size and portions of the shrimp. Maria had asked us if it was our first time here n we told her it was. She offered lemon cello or some dessert on the house but we refused as we were stuffed and told her the food, her excellent service, and her energy was more than what we could ask for here as our first time visitors. We will be coming back here again and will be treating our customers to this excellent little restaurant.

Exceptional food at very reasonable prices. Highlights include the arancini and the seafood risotto. Maria as our server and made us feel at home.

We were looking for an authentic "mom and pop"-style Italian restaurant for a Saturday evening meal after an afternoon in downtown Toronto. We had earlier found Anna Maria online, read the reviews and decided to make a reservation. Wow....we were not disappointed! We arrived half an hour before our reservation time and were welcomed and seated promptly--no waiting! Our waitress Victoria was amazing--friendly, outgoing and very good with recommending some great dinner ideas. There was a nice wine selection. And the food was delicious! The atmosphere in the restaurant was just what we had hoped for. We will definitely go back. If you want a true Italian dinner experience in an authentic Italian environment, then you need to visit Anna Maria Trattoria.

Loved this place! Brought me back to Italy, didn't even feel like I was in Toronto. Ambiance: From the old school, but fancy, decor, to the oil paintings, to the tiny bar and the mom & pop feel, I loved the ambiance of this place. It honestly felt so European and I loved it - made me forget about my life for a bit and took me away. Food: 4.5/5 - I asked for a recommendation and got the house made gnocchi with the meat (veal) sauce. It was fantastic and will definitely be back again one day when I'm in the area for this. It truly was a delicious meal. A little on the pricier side, but worth it. Service: 5/5 - very kind and attentive waitress, who I assume might be the owner! Overall, loved it and looking forward to having this again one day.

Just drove to the place randomly on a weekday with hubby for lunch and we are glad we did. The place is owned and run by an italian woman, who loves to cook and feed. The portions are great and food is freshly made with perfect taste. The arancini and risotto we had was delicious along with refills of bread was enough for us of us to be full. The wine selection is pretty decent. I loved how the she was making tiramisu from scratch with actual real alcohol, i can swear by the authenticity of this place, and the warm service!

We had a family reunion on 7/24/25 at Anna Maria Trattoria for 22 people. It turned out amazing! The food was delicious! We had appetizers, salads, main dishes and desserts. All the guests were raving about how good their food was. They allowed all the guests to pick off the menu and not be a fixed menu. That was really nice. The food was bought out around the same time. They allowed us to be there for 4+ hours. Victoria was amazing. She contacted me to make sure how I would like the table arrangement. Everything was set up on time. I highly recommend this restaurant for a big party or just a date night. We all had a wonderful time!

I came during Valentine's Day and it was packed! Obviously I needed a reservation to get a table, but I'm sure you can easily walk-in during regular season. It is a small restaurant though, so always best to call in and reserve just in case. We ordered the Calamari Fritti ($22) as an appetizer. The calamari was nice but portions were rather small for the price. Each table also gets complimentary bread as well. The jalapeño sauce that came with it was really good. For the mains, we ordered the Gnocchi with Meat Sauce ($24) and the Fettuccine Mare Mondo ($29). Both were cooked nicely and were super filling. Obviously because it was a busy day, it was very hard to get the servers' attention, but they were definitely swamped and trying their best. Overall, it's a nice small Italian restaurant. It's definitely authentic because we sat right next to the kitchen and saw everything happening inside. Small group of kitchen staff as well. I would love to come back when it's less busy and enjoy the food once again.

Excellent Italian restaurant Came here for for a lunch meeting. We were quickly seated and greeted. This place has a bit of old school charm. Food was excellent from the pasta to the risotto. Salads were fresh and tasty. Definitely worth a stop if you are craving a classic Italian meal.

Old school Italian dishes that are generous, flavourful, and uses fresh ingredients! I'm no expert in authentic Italian cuisine, but I went with someone who was Italian and they really liked it! Spicy shrimp in tomato sauce (5/5) - juicy large shrimp in THE MOST delicious thick tomato sauce (wasn't spicy though!). Loved soaking up the sauce with the bread and our pizza crust. Rapini & sausage pizza (4/5) - simple, but oh so good. The super thin and perfectly balanced crisp crust with rapini (that wasn't bitter!!) and sausage stacked on top. Gnocchi with meat sauce (4/5) - the texture was more like a firmer el dente pasta which my partner LOVED because it was just like the gnocchi that his nonna made (they didn't do gnocchi like the soft/pillowy texture that most other people are familiar with). The ragu sauce complimented it well and the Parmesan on top is a must. Definitely looking forward to coming back to try their Salmon and Veal chop dishes next time :)

Family-owned, classic Italian food and hospitality Service: The staff were all very friendly and were quite busy running around the restaurant as it was full on a weekday! It's a classic family-run business and the menus was pretty large. Food: The portions matched the page size of the menus, they were too big to finish if you order appetizers, and pizza/pasta to share. The tomato sauce with the shrimp was tart, thick, and very flavourful. The pizza was topped with a healthy portion of pepperoni and bacon. The pasta was on the lighter side to round out the meal, with chicken and shrimp and herbs, but I would have preferred to have some sauce to tie it all together. The star of the show was the hot chili sauce that appeared to be home-made, it was absolutely delicious with the complimentary bread and the pizza. Atmosphere: The place was packed with families and business people, and the décor reminded me of the cobblestone streets of Italy, it was very vintage Italian. Overall: A great spot for a business or family lunch or dinner, be sure to take home your leftovers!

Gnocchi was delicious. Pizza was a store bought crust. Pasta dishes were average, nothing special.

FINAL UPDATE: The owner called me back and demanded I take down the review, or I wouldn't get a free meal, as if I care about a free meal when they're SCAMMING people. I updated my Google Review to state this, then the owner went on an unhinged rant in all caps calling me a liar and being verbally abusive. Eat here at your own peril as you'll be harassed and verbally abused if you disagree with what the scamming owner says. !!!!!WARNING!!!!! Bring your own water. When we were seated, we asked for glasses of water. Our server said, "Sparkling or Flat". We asked for flat. Our server brought over an already opened bottle of flat water. Most of the nicer Italian restaurants use these to make it look fancier, but otherwise don't charge you for it. THIS PLACE CHARGES YOU FOR WATER AND DOES NOT TELL YOU. When we received the bill, it came out to $8 PER BOTTLE. There was no price for water in the drink menu, or in the food menu. EVERY. SINGLE. TABLE. In this restaurant had an opened bottle of water. They probably made hundreds of dollars off of people charging them for water without even asking or informing the person of the price. Further, when we went to pay the bill, the waiter literally stood there as we looked over the bill. When one of us started taking a bit too long for his liking, he said, "I can't press enter until you OK the bill". Like who does this? He KNEW that if he gave us too much time to read the bill, we would have noticed this and questioned it. This is A BORDERLINE SCAM. DO NOT EAT HERE UNLESS YOU BRING YOUR OWN WATER.

Tasty food, reasonable price and very generous portion size; a family run Italian restaurant in Vaughan. The risotto el funghi that I had was perfectly cooked. The risotto rice was soft and a bit chewy, exactly the way I like it and the mushroom aroma permeating from the risotto was just wonderful. To finish, our party ordered two cheese cakes and a tiramisu. The tiramisu had a strong coffee taste which contrasted the sweetness of the cream, it was one of the best tiramisu I had in a long while. An order of cheese cake had six shot glass size of miniature cakes of about 2 to 3 small bites worth, perfect for sharing, although the cheeses were not outstanding. We were there on a Wednesday night and it was not busy at all, but I heard the wait can be long on weekend nights.

It's a nice, cozy Italian restaurant. Great food and a really awesome server. We tried the Calamari Fritti for starters and then the Fusilli Alla Diavola and Fetuccini Mare Mondo. All were great!

Authentic Italian Restaurant located at Lanstaff, no extravagant décor, but the food was very good. The portions were big and tasty. If you are planning to go, make sure you make reservation.

Our dinner trip to anna maria trattoria was truly wonderful. starting our evening out with the spectacular ambiance background of italian scenary & music . bruschetta was very good .. not to mention the freshly cooked mussels in tomato sauce (excellent), the grilled squid was superb and caprese salad delicious.. we all enjoyed our dishes made to order -from spaghetti with mixed Fish and salmon well cooked .. pizza was also fresh and nicely cooked! We topped all of it off with fine wine and of course their special tira mi su! I thought the food was good. Service was just ok. My husband really liked the pizza. He went back for a lunch visit and he was really put off by the flies inside. Lots of flies landing on the food. Wait staff not that attentive.

Maybe it was my choice of dishes.... But - with all the hype I've heard about the place, I did not enjoy any of the item's we've ordered, and I was told by those who have been there before, that the food isn't what it used to be. Service was perfect - unfortunately that alone is not enough to get me to come back. Not a repeat.

We arrived late on a Saturday night for the 'burbs at about 9:30pm. There were four of us in the party. The place was packed. The atmosphere was chatty and the live band were serenading the guests in Italian. We were greeted by no fewer than 3 different staff members as they walked past while our table was being readied. It's decorated inside to look like an old Italian house. Once seated they brought bread and homemade spicy oil to the table. We ordered 2 minestrone soups and one grilled calamari for starters. The mains were 2 grilled salmons on a bed of spinach risotto with steamed vegetables and roast potato wedges. The fish was delicate and cooked to perfection, the vegetables were at the perfect state of soft with a bit of bite and the potatoes were soft inside with a light crispy outer layer. The risotto was creamy. One mushroom risotto, a beautiful bowl of cremini mushrooms sautéed in white wine and rice. Very tasty, smooth and creamy on the pallet, a generous portion. And Gnocchi ala vodka. The gnocchi was hand made soft and creamy. The sauce was thick and smothered the gnocchi deliciously. We were offered freshly ground pepper and parmigiana which they were generous with. At this point have to say that all 4 meals were brought out at exactly the same time, all perfectly cooked and hot. For dessert we ordered 2 tiramisu a tea, an espresso and 2 Americanos. The owner and his son were friendly and chatting with the patrons. Genuinely lovely people. They even treated us to nightcaps, we chose Limoncello. Our bill was $164 before tip. We are looking forward to going back. The server was attentive and checked up on us regularly. I'd say that to date this has been one of the best spots we've found in the 905 area.

Our family has been going there for years and have always enjoyed any of the food being served. We had a small issue last evening where my daughter ordered gnocchi a la vodka. The only thing being, my daughter is a vegetarian and there was bacon in the dish. Our server was amazing and brought out another dish fairly quickly for my daughter and the restaurant even took care of the first dish for us, so I was extremely impressed by the service. One suggestion I want to share would be for the restaurant to ask if there are any dietary restrictions before taking peoples orders.

We ordered in during Covid from here and MAN the hype is real. The pasta was insanely fresh and tasty. The pizza was chewy and delicious. Everything we ordered was delightful and the portions were huge. A bit on the pricey side but you get what you pay for. The only knock I could find is the pizza crust was not quite at the level of some of the many other trattorias in the area. It was fine but Im a but spoiled Cannot wait to try more of the menu! I like the non-dairy offerings for those of us who cant have cheese or cream sauces!

On Dec. 21/23 I got two take out pasta orders; Linguine Pescatore and Linguine Alla Diavola. I live almost two hours away and don't come to Vaughan every week. I froze them as I wanted to have them for Dec. 26 and Dec. 30. I have done this at least 6 times in the past 3 years with no issues. The dishes were always delicious with enough sauce. Unfortunately, these two dishes did not have enough sauce. It was like eating almost plain pasta with just a little bit of oil on them. We were so disappointed. I emailed the restaurant and explained what had happened asking what we could do about this. I heard nothing back. On January 3 I knew I would be coming to Vaughan so I called the restaurant. The associate there was very understanding and told me she would text the manager right away. I did not hear anything. I called again in a few days. The associate assured me she had texted the manager but would remind him and he would be in that night. I still haven't heard anything. This is/was one of my favourite pasta restaurants. On May 2/21 I previously posted a 5 star review specifically about how good the 3 takeout dishes I bought were. I am very sorry to see the decline in the quality of these dishes and customer concern level.

If I could eat here for the rest of my life, I would. I could not believe how good the food was. Being Italian myself, there is no other place that compares to homemade cooking. This is as close as it gets. I'm still dreaming of the food. We got a big portion of calamari to start, which came with tomato paste on the side, something different. They brought out peppers in hot oil with the bread, they know me too well. To eat for our main dishes, I had the "spaghetti alla chitarra". You could tell the sauce and pasta were homemade, and so fresh! I've had the dish in the motherland, and it's almost comparable. The meatballs were a good size, and sooo yummy. The penne and grilled chicken was excellent. They used a sweeter sauce for the penne which complimented the chicken very well. The plates are expensive but they are well worth it. The place is small, but it's always the small Italian restaurants that have the best food! Customer service was excellent. We had no reservations, coming in to celebrate a special occasion for a party of four, and they accommodated us right away. I will be coming back, and I can't wait to try more on the menu!

This place is a hidden gem for sure. Pretty hard to find at night as it's tug in a commercial plaza area. Going in with no expectations, as we only came because it was the on restaurant with openings on a Saturday night LOL the food taste, portion and quality totally exceed our expectation. They even have live music.

We thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience. We were greeted with warmth and great hospitality. There were probably quite a bit of regulars at the restaurant, so service was a bit slower at times when the owners were walking around and chatting with each table. We ordered the following dishes: 1. Arugula salad ($12.95) - The arugula salad was refreshing and adequately dressed in a delicious balsamic and olive oil mix. Ingredients were really fresh and the savoury shaved parmesan added a lovely sharp flavour, which paired extremely well with the nutty arugula leaves. 2. Gnocchi with alla vodka ($17) - The gnocchi dough is rolled out in house, but Anna Maria's version wasn't the soft, delicate and pillowy bites I expected, but rather, it was chewy and almost resembled al dente pasta, which I didn't mind at all. The alla vodka sauce was stupid delicious, with so much depth and complexity, yet it was perfectly balanced. This is the first time I have had gnocchi with ridges and it held the tasty sauce well. 3. Spaghetti with rose meat sauce ($17) - Although the waitress noted that the pasta is not made in house, the supplier does make the spaghetti and a few other pastas fresh. It was perfectly al dente and the meat sauce, similar to the alla vodka, was full of flavour and scrumptious. We pretty much licked our plates clean. 4. House made tiramisu ($7.5) - The coffee flavour in the ladyfingers was aromatic, bright and balanced. Although the filling on top was light and airy, I was left searching for more of the cheesiness from the mascarpone. It was still a decent ending to the meal. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The live Italian music added to the buzzing vibe. Paired with great food and good service, we are definitely planning to return.

Small authentic Italian atmosphere. It seems like a family run business. The night we went there was 2 big parties that pretty much took up the whole restaurant. The service was slow as the staff was attending to the big parties. However when we did have our server at our table she was fantastic she made excellent recommendations. We started with a pizza which was burnt and it was so disappointing because the pictures on Yelp looked so amazing we were really looking forward to it. I ordered the Linguine Mondo and David had the gnocchi (made in house) both tasted so delicious!!!!!

When i walked into Anna Maria I felt like I walked into a restaurant in Calabria. The restaurant was cute and cozy. The staff were extremely friendly. This was my first time but my sister 80th. She forced me to go and I am so glad I did. I started with the classic Stracciatella soup( egg drop). It was light fluffy puffs of egg perfectly seasoned . Broth was delicious and portion was huge. Then we ordered the gnocchi and penne ala vodkas. It tasted like someone's nonna was in the back cooking. Pasta was perfectly el dente. Sauce was delicious rose with bacon and onions . Gnocchi was also in a rose sauce. I would say this was one of the best bowls of gnocchi I've ever had . They were light and fluffy and basically melted in your mouth. Portions were huge ! I will def be coming back for dinner

Usually a quaint restaurant with good food. However, last Saturday night it was disappointing as they tried to cram as many people as they could into a relatively small space making it overcrowded and very noisy. Not much consideration given to their guests. They should keep in mind that it is flu season and Covid is still present. Didn't make for a memorable evening.

This little gem is tucked away in a commercial/industrial zone on Langstaff east of Jane. It's a small restaurant so best to make reservations or you'll be disappointed. We had pasta e fagiolo for starters. It's the best I've ever had in a restaurant and reminds me of the way my grandmother used to make it. Just delicious! Followed this with a bowl of home made gnocchi in a tomato basil sauce. What a feel good, delicious dish. I've been here other times and I recommend the Campagnola pizza which is made with sausage and rapini toppings. It's their signature pizza. All in all, if you want an Italian meal that tastes like the good old days, this is the place to go. Enjoy!

I've been there a few times since my friend took me a few summers ago. All I can say that their food quality is beyond exceptional! So in case you wanna go their for a meal, be sure to make reservations first. They are closed on Sundays and opens at 5 pm on Saturdays. So I suggest that you go during weekdays to avoid the wait. The items I suggest to try are as follows: Calamari Fritti Light battered calamari rings with primavera sauce on the side. When you bite into the ring, it will be a little bouncy yet not rubbery at all. Risotto Al Funghi Risotto with mixed mushrooms in white wine sauce. This is not the usual risotto where the rice is hard inside and starchy outside. The risotto is cooked all the way through with just the right texture. You will definitely taste the wine sauce. Zuppa di Pesce All'Adriatica in tomato sauce Mixed seafood in tomato base soup served with toasts. Their fish in big fillets, prawns, mussels etc. It is definitely a good portion to share. The tomato soup is light and refreshing yet not too sour. If you want something light this will be a good choice. Fettuccine Mare Monde Fettuccine with crab, scallops, mushrooms and green onion in white creamy sauce. The fettuccine is cooked al dante, the cream sauce is not too heavy that will overpower the seafood. Their dessert is the famous tiramisu served in a glass. Some people say they had better but because I'm a tiramisu lover so I say that it is very moist and light. Of course lastly, the service by the servers is excellent, very polite and quick response to requests. Overall I can say that this is by far the best Italian restaurant I've been to.

In terms of Italian restaurants, for sure this place far exceeds Alice fazooli's. The pre-meal bread (not hot) came with a bowl of jalapeño, garlic, oil, and other ingredients that went well with the sliced bread. Bruschetta was surprisingly delicious despite the simple ingredients. I ordered the meat lovers pizza ($17.95) and my wife ordered the fettuccine mare mondo ($19.95). Meat lovers pizza: salami, capicollo, bacon, Italian hot sausage, soppressata -lots of meat and very flavorful, a bit salty but manageable Fettuccine mare mondo: in a cream sauce, crab, scallops, mushrooms and green onions I would give both dishes 7/10. They have house-made gnocchi if you're into that, but not my type of pasta.

Pretty close to authentic Italian dining. It reminded me of restaurants in Italy in terms of the ambience and food. The gnocchi was my favourite. Portions are very generous. Don't expect to be served right away though. There was only one lady working and the place was already very packed little after 5pm during the week.

First time going here and I will definitely be coming back. The salad wash fresh. I had Gluten Free corn pasta with the vodka sauce, it was amazing, one of the best I've ever had. The atmosphere was great. It was like you are in Europe at a restaurant in the street. Amazing!

I had dinner with my friend who received this restaurant in the area. A true gem and an authentic Italian family restaurant. The hosts and servers are very, very friendly. Their hot peppers are too die for.... Calendar fritti was very crispy and not oily at all. We ordered a veal main and the side pasta was very nice, al dente with a nice texture. Will definitely come back for another visit!

After years of searching I've finally found an Italian restaurant that tastes as good as my mother's cooking! My first experience eating here was so good that my wife and I had our daughter's Baptism here. Food is authentic and service was spectacular!! Restaurant isn't large so it might be difficult to make weekend reservations. I would suggest this restaurant to anyone who asks me if I know a good Italian restaurant. I will be a repeat customer for sure.

This Italian restaurant is perfect in so many levels. The ambience, friendliness of the staff, menu, and of course, the food. This is my most favorite Italian restaurant in the area but unfortunately they are full on weekends. You need reservation a week ahead if you want to dine here on weekend. Their tiramisu is not over sweetened and made at a perfect balance and harmony. It would be nice if they have more seatings and can accommodate more patrons. But I guess this is the right size to maintain the cozy feeling of this place.

The ranking is purely on food. The service was fantastic. I don't understand how this place can have such a high rating though. Food was average at best, not real Italian. Would not eat here again.

Had dinner there last night and the food was excellent. Gina was our server when we arrived and was a good friend by the time we left. As I read some of the reviews on this site (Not only for this restaurant which I highly recommend) it seems like there must be a lot of angry people out there with nothing better to do then take out their frustrations on a small business owner who is trying to make a buck. I never write reviews because I normally have more productive ways to fill my days but this place deserved it! Thank you Gina and keep that kitchen churning out the great quality food.

Food was great and service was excellent. Charming restaurant. One person had Salmon on the Grill and the other person had Chicken Parmigiana. Very tasty.

I work nearby and this restaurant is always busy during lunch hours. I've been here only twice during lunch and the service is really slow. The food is very good. Would return for dinner and not lunch as it took almost 40mins for my order to come out the last time I was there.

The 3 stars are based only on the fact that I came here for lunch, If it was for dinner I am sure I will give this place 5 stars The service is amazing and the food is perfect. I started working near this restaurant. When I first started the job I really thought I was going to starve to death. I come from downtown and the area is relatively secluded with very few if any place around. This restaurant was a pleasant surprise. The inly comment i have is, since they are open in a corporate part of the city. a lunch menu would come in handy. smaller portion , faster service and lower prices. The price is worth it 100% but it is not affordable for a lunch during work. $18 for a spaghetti meat balls is the price at a prime restaurant downtown for dinner. paying it for lunch in Vaughn is not something i can justify

This place is amazing! Great Italian food, friendly service, good prices. It is a bot crowded but you feel like you are in Italy :-) The owner is a very nice guy, he came after dinner and talked to ask about what we liked and what not, the restaurant was full but he made us feel very special: we chatted for about 5-10 minutes and talked about hockey, Miami, and mayor Ford :-) Highly recommended!
